Exceptional service with the best food! Here you finally find an Italian where the overall package really fits. The two of us had a very nice evening and would love to come back!

I recently went there for breakfast with my girlfriend. Our table wasn't bad in principle, but it was very, very narrow in order to fit as many people in as possible. You had to turn to the side the whole time to make room for the waiters. I could imagine that it could get tiringly loud in the evening. The waitress was nice, but the service was average. Of course I can ignore that if the food tastes as good as our breakfast did. Purely from a technical point of view, a clear recommendation. However, one thing struck me as very negative. There was exactly one male service employee, I assume the management, who was underground. He started complaining loudly (we had to pause our conversation) about his other employees, I assume runners. That they don't have to record anything and how much their incompetence upsets him. He also maintained a rude tone towards the guests. He called out to a couple on the first floor what was going on, as they didn't seem very happy, they said they wanted to pay and he just replied "come down then". Completely wrong career choice this young gentleman made. I can only recommend that the owner reconsider his choice, as such employees are damaging to his reputation. If we are in the area again we might stop by again for the food, maybe something will have changed in the service by then.

The Toscanini restaurant in Cologne impresses with an excellent lunch offer: for a fair €15.80 you get a menu with a starter, main course and dessert (optionally espresso). I've been there three times and every time the food was delicious. The portions are well balanced. The quality of the food speaks for itself. The restaurant has always been full, which makes the atmosphere a bit busy. I would recommend making a reservation. The friendly service lifts your mood at lunchtime. An absolutely recommendable place for lunch in Cologne's Südstadt. Only the parking options are rather poor, but that's how it is in the whole district.

Unfortunately that was totally wrong this evening - food good, service/counter absolutely bad. I had reserved a table for 8 p.m. I was told it wasn't free yet, so I took a seat outside and waited for my buddy. Shortly after me, a walk-in (not reserved) came in and got a great table for two on the ground floor by the window. My friend and I then had to sit at a table for four in the corner on the first floor. Well, we then shared the Antipasto Grande - it was quite good, but I don't want to know how small the Antipasto Piccola would have been. The wines are nothing special, unfortunately the Lugana was not available. We both had the Gnocchi Giganti al Pisctacchio - I can only recommend it, it was very tasty and especially tip top with Parmesan and the two other condiments. Finally, I ordered 2 x 0.2l Nero d'Avola... I pulled myself together the whole evening that we got such a shitty seat and then they cheekily served us the rest of the piss from the red wine bottle. In the photo you can see that it was almost 0.15l instead of 0.2l. We are restaurateurs ourselves and we see when we are being cheated on. On request we were given more (without apology) and on the second request we were given a glass of red wine. We then refilled the drinks ourselves. Super embarrassing, I really don't know why the store is rated so well. In any case, we won't come again. The competition does its job much better. And at €95 (including tip), the evening wasn't exactly cheap either.

Average Italian restaurant conveniently located in downtown Cologne. Rather expensive.

Good family-run pizzeria, not a fancy Italian restaurant. The food is delicious and the selection is quite large. We eat there often and also like to order something to take away. The service is good and very friendly. However, the boss does almost everything herself, so when it's full it gets a bit hectic.

Great Sardinian specialties, from anti pasti to pasta and fish to dolci. Daria always recommends suitable wines. Yesterday I went there with my family and everyone loved the food, service and ambience. The number of tables is limited, so it is advisable to reserve.

Today 18 June 2024 I went to Ludari and discovered that it has closed, a nearby shop told me that it has closed permanently, a real shame in Cologne you will no longer eat Italian as well as at Ludari.

Very tasty food with a pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service. We had the salmon out of the oven and it was incredibly good. Highly recommended 🙏🏽

Addendum. Unfortunately closed. But the owner has a restaurant, Francesca, 20 m away. Nice little shop with delicious food. My favorite is the salami pizza. Thank you, you are a super friendly team..
