Very good Italian restaurant where everything fits

Small beautiful Italian with prints. Steak was OK but not a highlight. Service was also OK, but the mood and mood of the staff was a catastrophe. Too bad

Unfortunately, my expectations of this always busy trattoria were badly disappointed. Upon request, I ordered the Carpaccio Classic only with Parmesan. Raspberries and strawberries adorned the carpaccio. The wafer-thin strips of cheese that could be counted with the naked eye were tasteless. The parmesan I ordered turned out to be parmesan crumbs for pasta. The chef came to the table personally. Unfortunately, I didn't understand my concern that I spurned the lightly mixed starter. We then waited almost 45 minutes for the pasta as the main course. Again I had to return my choice as the pasta was lukewarm and overly salty. Both of our portions were quite different from the pasta plates at neighboring tables. The staff wasn't very friendly after the complaints. Wine was not refilled. Too bad. Nevertheless, we would like to continue to have many less demanding guests.

Dear gastronomy employees.... Unfortunately, our visit to your gastronomy was not what we expected.. . The dishes were randomly mixed and somehow everything left the impression that the staff was completely overwhelmed... No drinks were added and otherwise the food was of rather medium quality..... One line was not recognizable as German food (duck completely well-done and tough mixed with Mediterranean vegetables) ....sorry you can definitely do better.... The unreasonableness of putting together the tables and therefore the existing space were not hospitable or designed for a longer stay... with hospitality and Italian Flair has absolutely nothing to do with this anymore....it's a shame.......

Starting with the extremely friendly staff, continuing with the really good food, a great wine list, and the family atmosphere! There really is everything here to allow yourself to be pampered with culinary delights!!!

It is nicely decorated but very warm in the place. The service was friendly and good. I thought the food was mediocre. The ravioli filling was very sweet and I missed some fresh flavors of, for example, a salad.

Average Italian restaurant conveniently located in downtown Cologne. Rather expensive.

Small, fine trattoria, everyone is super friendly and the food is excellent. The only drawback is the background noise. When it's full it's also very loud. Unfortunately, this is the case with many local ones. There are great ways to fix this. Why this is rarely done is a mystery to me.

The winner of the month! I was invited to Casa Di Modica for lunch yesterday. I have rarely been so enthusiastic about a restaurant. In addition to the perfect service, I was convinced, or even thrilled, by the food. Really home-made antipasti with vegetables and seafood, which was clearly seasoned with love and used a wonderful olive oil. The main course, the Steinbeisser, was wonderfully crispy and yet fried juicy. Since it was fried together with sage, pepperoncini and thyme, the fish was extremely tasty with the potatoes and vegetables served with it. For €26.00 as a dish of the day, this is really “cheap value”. The dessert was also a delight. Candied figs, vanilla ice cream and all in a fine lake of lightly browned butter. Sure 10,000 calories, but a feast for the taste buds. The open Merlot and the perfect espresso rounded the whole thing off perfectly. I would be happy to come back soon and look forward to it

Everything is great. The room is small but nice, the food was very good.

Delicious bruschetta first but the pasta with chanterelles was very salty and overcooked, had a very strong garlic flavor and a garlic butter sauce. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't make a sauce based on the chanterelles. Next time I'll order something different, with a little garlic

I agree with the positive reviews: excellent food, not 0/8/15 Italian cuisine, we go there every year when we are in Cologne, good wines and fair prices for the quality offered. Of course, the friendly service is also worth mentioning.

We visited this restaurant today and would like to share our experience. The service was fine. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing, especially the tagliatelle with beef fillet tips. The beef fillet tips were tough and stringy. When the dish was served there was a little shaved parmesan on top which was fresh. When we reordered we were given a bowl of what was supposed to be parmesan, but it looked very strange, tasted sour and smelled unpleasant. All three of us tried it and were equally horrified. I spoke to the service employee about it and pointed out to him that the Parmesan tasted strange and was not okay. His answer was that the Parmesan was grated, which was obvious, but the problem wasn't the shape but the taste. His reaction was unreasonable, unfriendly and didn't help. All in all our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing, we will not be returning. What was also very unpleasant was the fact that regular guests in this restaurant are treated in a particularly friendly and courteous manner, while other guests remain largely unnoticed. The impression is of a kind of two-class society.

Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt, wie bei Italienern zu Hause und werden beim nächsten Mal in Köln auf jeden Fall wieder hier etwas essen gehen. Von Anfang bis Ende eine tolle Geschmacksreise. Fragt mal nach dem Kalbskotelett :-) das war bei mir die Empfehlung vom Chef, der ich gerne gefolgt bin. Saulecker, echt. Meine Frau hatte Trüffelnudeln, die ebenfalls richtig gut gewesen sind. Danke für einen tollen Abend, wir werden wieder kommen.

Wir haben dieses Lokal zufällig entdeckt, weil ich mir im Nachbarladen einen Hut kaufen wollte, die Speisekarte las sich interessant, und abends haben wir auf gut Glück einen Tisch bekommen. Wir waren bereits mehrere Male da. Das Essen schmeckt sehr lecker und die Weinempfehlung ist treffend. Die Weine sind sehr gut und haben auch die richtige Temperatur. Wir haben den Rose und Sauvignon Blanc getrunken, die erhalten 5 Sterne. Das Restaurant ist absolut empfehlenswert und zählt zu unseren Favoriten.

Personally, it was quite bad. Very small portion is not the worst thing, but the service was so confusing, the waitress asked all the other tables “alles gut” except us; we didn’t want to order drinks cause we just finished coffee, but the waitress was standing here and asked again and again “what do you want to drink”, after we ordered a bottle of orange juice, she still asked “ what do you want to drink”…that’s so awkward and I won’t go back there again.

The lamb I had last night was good. But the service was rudely offensive with her eye rolling and murmuring with nothing I can recall to offend her. It’s definitely not a good impression nor experience that I would recommend under any circumstances.

Wir haben sehr spontan während unseres Aufenthalts in Köln einen Tisch (4 Personen) angefragt und es wurde Alles möglich gemacht, dass wir einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen (Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte, Nachspeisen) waren alle sehr lecker und die Portionen groß. Der Service war spitze. Wir können das Restaurant sehr weiterempfehlen.

EINFACH GENIAL!! Wir waren letztes Wochenende in der "Casa die Modica" und hatten für ca. 2,5h Urlaub in Italien! Der Service war hervorragend, das Essen war einfach Weltklasse! Wer Pasta liebt muss hier hin und ich habe fast jeden Italiener in Köln bereits ausprobiert. Es war nicht das Letzt Mal dort. Ich hatte die Burrata die ich mit 9/10 bewerten würde. Ausgesprochen schneller, netter und humorvoller Service. Atmosphäre sehr angenehm. Von der Küche hatte ich mir etwas mehr erhofft: das Thunfischtartar ist sehr asiatisch angemacht, Gemüse beim Hauptgericht etwas nichtssagend, Saucen (Pasta-Zwischengericht und Brandysauce beim Hauptgericht) nicht überzeugend (zu mehlig). Tiramisu sehr sahnig, geschmacksarm. Kölsch und Wein waren wieder hervorragend.

Immer wenn in Köln Messe ist, reserviere ich hier einen Tisch. Ein absoluter Top-Italiener mit einer tagesaktuellen Speisekarte, was immer Indiz für beste Frische ist. Man kann dieses Haus wärmstens empfehlen. Auch der Service ist klasse. Preislich für diese Qualität mehr als in Ordnung.

Ein Wohlfühllokal mit Familienanschluss. Seit Jahren schon konstante Qualität. Mein besonderer Tipp ist die Riesengarnele mit Pasta. Und ausgesuchte Weine, vorwiegend auch aus Sardinien. Deswegen alles gut.

Ich war heute Mittag zu einem Geschäftsessen in der Trattoria und war von dem Ambiente, der abwechslungsreichen Speisekarte und der Qualität der Speisen angetan. Als Vorspeise gab es Antipasti und anschließend Rinderfilet. Die Qualität war hervorragend und der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt. Wir kommen wieder.

Tolles Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Wenn der Raum des Restaurants voll besetzt ist, dann ist es ziemlich laut. Ansonsten aber wirklich sehr zu empfehlen 👍

A Cosy restaurant in cologne close to Friesenplatz. The food quality was very high and I like the fact they have a small menu. The restaurant was fully booked, so I recommend to reserve a spot. Good choice of wine either! Really cosy and a big recommendation when looking for Italian food in cologne!

Was für ein tolles Restaurant!!! Das Essen ist erstklassig, jeder Gang war ein Genuss. Nicht mal in Ligurien haben wir so gut gegessen. Service kompetent, freundlich, alles top. Es ist sogar ein bisschen besser als Il Bagutta. Trotzdem beide seit gestern meine Lieblingsrestaurants.👌🏻

Damit hatte ich nicht gerechnet. Von der Lage her wirkte das Restaurant gar nicht so einladend. Aber: Liebevoll gedeckte Tische, prompte, sehr freundliche Bedienung und sehr geschmackvolle Gerichte haben mich schnell positiv beeindruckt. Wijj hebben hier afgelopen week gegeten gezien de goede recensies, maar waren jammer genoeg niet enthousiast over het eten. De vittello tonnato leken wel plakjes karton op je bord en was ook niet echt lekker. De mosselen in wijnsaus waren lekker. Het hoofdgerecht de risotto met pompoen was heel matig, de gevulde tortelini waren oke maar erg vet. De hele nacht kramen gehad en diaree dus er was duidelijk iets niet vers.

Besser geht nicht - Essen zum hineinlegen, Service zuvorkommend aber diskret, der offene Wein 👌 Bella Italia und Dolce Vita in einem Platz vereint

Ich war inzwischen mehrmals, mittags wie abends, in diesem Restaurant. Die Speisen sind in Ordnung; die Pastaportionen sind bisweilen etwas knapp kalkuliert, anders als die Preise dafür. Wegen der erheblichen Lärmentwicklung, selbst bei wenigen besetzten Tischen, war ich stets bemüht, das Restaurant zügig zu verlassen. Leider empfinde ich diese Location als keine, in der ich mehrere Gänge genießen möchte- wegen des extrem nervigen Lärmpegels im Laufe der Zeit. Abends, da häufig ausgebucht, ist es für mich dort unerträglich.
