The food is okay - average. Pizzas are good, but not a culinary highlight. The production around “la vera Italia” seems a bit labored. The service is fast and attentive, but it is noticeable that the mood among the employees is anything but relaxed. You feel a certain nervousness, which hardly comes from professionalism, but rather from pressure and tension. As a guest, if you look closely, you will notice that the working atmosphere here is obviously not a particularly pleasant one. A real no-go: no card payment possible. This not only seems out of date, but also leaves a few questions unanswered - especially when you see the store well-stocked in the evening. Our service person also said that the tip would not be split. As far as I know it's not legal. And then you no longer need to tip if it goes into the owner's pocket. The boss appears friendly to guests in a manner that is even excessively slimy - in stark contrast to what one notices when dealing with one's own staff. I was very irritated by comments about the appearance of employees and a clearly authoritarian tone. Overall, it's a store that places a lot of emphasis on its external appearance, but behind the facade it looks quite unpleasant

Overall worth a visit. The food is excellent, and the weekly menu is also impressive. The ambience is simple but nice, you can definitely spend a while here. Minimal deduction because of the volume, in the evening it is quite loud and you can only have a limited conversation - but that's okay. Unfortunately, we were rather dissatisfied with the service today, which was highly praised in other reviews. Maybe we had a bad day, but one of the waitresses seemed very unfriendly and annoyed and couldn't bring herself to smile or say a friendly word either when greeting us or at any other time. The second service was very slow and not very attentive. Our glasses remained empty for a long time and when I asked for something, no one else at the table was asked if they wanted anything else (two other people had empty glasses). The invoice slip was presented to us for billing and that was it. I would probably come back again, but I hope the service is better otherwise.

The chef has a love for arugula. There wasn't much of my bruschetta visible on my plate as the plate was full of arugula. The noise level in the restaurant was very high.

Food is simply great. Price performance absolutely fair. Deduction for volume. You really have to yell at each other. On our last visit there was also a large group present, but they didn't sit in their seats but stood in the middle of the room and shouted at each other. Very unpleasant. Another star deduction for paying exclusively in cash. Absolutely out of date.

Absolutely recommended. It was my first time there and I will come back. Pizza and bread from the charcoal oven, which is wonderful to see. I was thrilled by a very tasty salad with lamb fillet. Price performance absolutely consistent. Only my companion's pasta could have been a little spicier. But seasoning isn't a problem. Reservation is absolutely recommended.

Very tasty pizza and even though it was a Saturday evening it was very quick. However, I can't understand why you can't pay by card in a restaurant where you're sure to leave a few euros in 2025.

Really excellent service that honored our special requests

We spontaneously went to this restaurant late in the evening to eat tiramisu. After looking at the menu, we decided to share a portion of pasta and this decision was spot on. The noodles were so so delicious. 🤤 Only then was there tiramisu, which was also delicious, but I've actually eaten better. The staff were very helpful and friendly even at late hours. We would have liked to eat a pizza there, but we were only in Cologne for a few days and wanted to try out other restaurants.

Absolute recommendation! The price-performance ratio is optimal. The large portions are of great quality, the salad, as you can see, is beautifully prepared and has plenty of toppings. The pizza is also fantastic - the dough is nice and thin and tasty. The staff also impressed with their friendliness and professionalism. The processes seem to be so good that we only had to wait a few minutes for our food. At the beginning there was a little greeting from the kitchen in the form of super good pizza rolls with garlic and pepper cream 🥰 The only small drawback is the noise in the restaurant itself - but it is so busy for good reasons 😁 We'd love to come back!

The shop itself is cozy and the service is nice, but unfortunately the food didn't convince us. It was okay, partly greasy and burnt, but the bottom line was that it was disproportionate to the price.

Overall we had a very nice evening. The Gamberetti pizza was tasty, although I would have liked black tiger prawns instead of the small prawns. A small minus point in the B grade. An absolute highlight was my partner's pizza with figs and sheep's cheese - a taste experience that we can only recommend! There was a small downer with the dessert: the panna cotta was unfortunately a bit small, but tasted very tasty. The ambience in the restaurant was very nice, but it was very loud that evening, which made conversation a little difficult. The service, however, was excellent! Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Conclusion: Overall, the restaurant is worth a visit, especially for lovers of creative pizza creations. There are minor drawbacks with the Gamberetti pizza and the size of the dessert as well as the noise in the room. However, the excellent service makes up for these points. We'd love to come back!

Top Italian - top food, top service!!

I visited this beautiful place after reading about it in a pizza bible. After tasting the bread appetiser I already knew. The pizzaiolo does not use the right ingredients. On the pizza the eggplant was not propperly cooked, bad dough & yeast, wrong cheese (gouda on a pizza?). Even the margarita wasn’t what it should be. I did drink an amazing wine so everything was there for a good night out.

We went to the restaurant as a large group, ordered a lot, celebrated a birthday, but all the dishes were served quickly enough, despite the fact that all the tables in the hall were occupied by visitors and the workload on the service staff was heavy. The restaurant is in great demand, you need to reserve a table in advance. Tagliatelle al Salmone really first class! Even though we hadn't made a reservation, a spot was spontaneously found for us. Then we forgot that you could only pay with cash and had to quickly go to the ATM. Everything was very well explained and very friendly. We'd love to come back :)

Authentic Italian and very friendly restaurant. Gave a little greeting from the kitchen (bread with dip), very tasty. The pizza was good, fresh ingredients, but not great. I was missing some sauce. But that's a matter of taste, so five stars anyway. The pizza is freshly prepared in a wood-fired oven. I like that a lot. The espresso at the end rounded off the lovely visit. It's a bit loud in there, but that's fine for an Italian shop. Beautiful building and otherwise very pleasant atmosphere. Very friendly there.

I actually don't understand the reviews at all. We were there spontaneously and were assigned a table by the unmotivated ladies. OK. Ordered Vitello Tonnato as a starter. That was bad. Sour, safe not fresh. The noodles were too cooked and the sauce was, well, well. We didn't feel comfortable with the unmotivated and really poorly acted nice ladies either. We won't be coming back. Also expensive in terms of price.

Op 9 minuutjes lopen van ons hotel dit pareltje van een Italiaan. Super vriendelijke eigenaar. Vooraf kregen we een broodje met smeersels, waar maak je dat nog mee. Ik had een pizza met Parmaham, heerlijk, goede bodem. Mijn partner nam de pizza Davide met Gorgonzola, salami en champignons. Beide waren wel zoutig, wat we daarna goed merkten aan onze dorst. Zeker een aanrader. Let wel op dat je alleen contant kunt betalen.

Yesterday we went to Toscanini with our dinner group. As an aperitif a sherry, starter mixed platter, as main courses duck breast, rump steak with pepper sauce, pasta with prawns and pasta with beef strips. Everything was excellent, with a good rosè wine, mineral water and friendly and attentive service (Jana). Finally, one Grappa and/or Ramazotti, espresso on the house. Absolutely recommended.

The Toscanini restaurant in Cologne impresses with an excellent lunch offer: for a fair €15.80 you get a menu with a starter, main course and dessert (optionally espresso). I've been there three times and every time the food was delicious. The portions are well balanced. The quality of the food speaks for itself. The restaurant has always been full, which makes the atmosphere a bit busy. I would recommend making a reservation. The friendly service lifts your mood at lunchtime. An absolutely recommendable place for lunch in Cologne's Südstadt. Only the parking options are rather poor, but that's how it is in the whole district.

Die Vorspeisen waren sehr lecker (Bruschetta und Verdure alla Casa). Jedoch war das Ambiente nicht sehr einladend für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Es war zu laut, zu hektisch und sehr hell. Nach 1h waren wir schon fertig und wollten eigentlich einen schönen längeren Abend dort verbringen.

Were on a short trip to Cologne. Best pizza we have ever eaten? Whether it's a starter (Vitello Tonnato) or the salad? Everything was super delicious! The kids even enjoyed the ice cream for dessert! The service and prices were also unbeatable? If we come back to Cologne, we will eat there again straight away!

Reservation is mandatory! Pasta dishes (had 3 different ones) were very creamy and fatty, you have to like them. Pizza is solid. The restaurant is relatively noisy during normal operation during the week. Service is good. A good restaurant, nothing more but nothing less either. There are better addresses for pizza lovers.

Endless garlic on the pizza, not my thing and basically totally unnecessary - I didn't taste any of the actual delicious pizza. The waitress is extremely unfriendly and someone is sitting at the next table watching a thousand TikTok videos with the volume turned up and doing Facetime, so the staff could have said something... I'll eat my 20 euro pizza somewhere else next time.

La comida fue la estrella del show. La pasta estaba deliciosa, las opciones veganas eran deliciosas y la saltimbuca era perfecta. Añade un poco de postre y unas copas y tendrás una noche perfecta. El restaurante solo toma efectivo según su página web que es lo que pagamos pero la comida es barata. 8 platos principales, 7 aperitivos, 3 postres, 2 botellas de vino, 3 aguardientes de Aperol y una ronda de limoncello para terminar llegó a 290 euros. Es un poco fuera del camino si te alojas en el centro turístico, pero merece la pena

We've been there several times recently for lunch with our little daughter. The service was super friendly and helpful. There was a suitable high chair and a pizza roll for the little one when she got hungry. The lunch menu is always delicious and plentiful and is offered at an unbeatable price. Last time we even had leftovers because we were already full, which we then packed up for us to take home. We've been going to Toscanini's for years now and again, for lunch and dinner, and we've been thrilled every time. Sometimes we also pick up our pizzas there and then eat at home. We were with you on August 21st, 2024. It was really very nice. I really like the decor, the food was fantastic and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, I give a tiny minus star for the end of the evening. We all sat at the table and then a waitress cleared away all the glasses without a word. I would have liked a little hint along the lines of "Can I clear up now?" desired. Unfortunately, that had a bit of a getaway feel to it. Otherwise it was very comfortable!

When we visited Cologne, we looked for the most authentic cuisine possible, outside of the “usual”. We liked the atmosphere and the service was attentive and very friendly and everything went quickly. Carpaccio was excellent, the pasta unfortunately had a lot of cream and a lot of sauce, but a large (German) portion; didn't expect it. The star deduction is simply due to this unfortunately German habit of drowning everything in sauce. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Italian cuisine or anything special. Still, it was ok.

Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the praises of many guests during my visit. The food was ok! 6/10 with room for improvement. A lot of potential is wasted in the ambience and the service has been neglected.
