Ristorante Toscanini in Köln

The Toscanini restaurant in Cologne impresses with an excellent lunch offer: for a fair €15.80 you get a menu with a starter, main course and dessert (optionally espresso). I've been there three times and every time the food was delicious. The portions are well balanced. The quality of the food speaks for itself. The restaurant has always been full, which makes the atmosphere a bit busy. I would recommend making a reservation. The friendly service lifts your mood at lunchtime. An absolutely recommendable place for lunch in Cologne's Südstadt. Only the parking options are rather poor, but that's how it is in the whole district.

Die Vorspeisen waren sehr lecker (Bruschetta und Verdure alla Casa). Jedoch war das Ambiente nicht sehr einladend für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Es war zu laut, zu hektisch und sehr hell. Nach 1h waren wir schon fertig und wollten eigentlich einen schönen längeren Abend dort verbringen.

Were on a short trip to Cologne. Best pizza we have ever eaten? Whether it's a starter (Vitello Tonnato) or the salad? Everything was super delicious! The kids even enjoyed the ice cream for dessert! The service and prices were also unbeatable? If we come back to Cologne, we will eat there again straight away!

Portions too small, there is caraway in the hamburger, it just has no place in it.

Reservation is mandatory! Pasta dishes (had 3 different ones) were very creamy and fatty, you have to like them. Pizza is solid. The restaurant is relatively noisy during normal operation during the week. Service is good. A good restaurant, nothing more but nothing less either. There are better addresses for pizza lovers.

In my opinion, Toscanini is the best Italian in the city and highly recommended. The food is very tasty, whether it's pasta, pizza or salad and the service team is very friendly. In my experience, it is very important to reserve a table in good time because the restaurant is always busy.

Endless garlic on the pizza, not my thing and basically totally unnecessary - I didn't taste any of the actual delicious pizza. The waitress is extremely unfriendly and someone is sitting at the next table watching a thousand TikTok videos with the volume turned up and doing Facetime, so the staff could have said something... I'll eat my 20 euro pizza somewhere else next time.

This has to be the nicest Italian outside Italy I have had in a long time. We went for a family birthday as a party of 8 and was able to be squeezed in last minute (thankfully). The atmosphere was uplifting, the restaurant was clean and lovely. The food was the star of the show. The pasta was delicious, the vegan options were delicious and the saltimbucca was perfect. Add in some dessert and a few drinks and you have yourself a perfect night. The restaurant only takes cash according to their website which is what we paid in but the meal are cheap. 8 mains, 7 appetisers, 3 desserts, 2 bottles of wine, 3 Aperol sprits and a round of limoncello to finish came to 290 euro. It’s a bit out of the way if you’re staying in the tourist centre but we’ll worth it

Always worth a visit. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. The pizzas are very good and very tasty. The portion is also very large. You can enjoy a cozy evening here for two or with several friends. It's best to reserve in advance, it's always busy, you're rarely lucky spontaneously. Otherwise, just order to take away, it's very quick.

We've been there several times recently for lunch with our little daughter. The service was super friendly and helpful. There was a suitable high chair and a pizza roll for the little one when she got hungry. The lunch menu is always delicious and plentiful and is offered at an unbeatable price. Last time we even had leftovers because we were already full, which we then packed up for us to take home. We've been going to Toscanini's for years now and again, for lunch and dinner, and we've been thrilled every time. Sometimes we also pick up our pizzas there and then eat at home. I have known the restaurant for over 15 years and I look forward to it every time. In my opinion it is one of the best Italian restaurants in Cologne. Excellent meat, fish and veggie dishes and clearly the best pizza in Cologne. Nice wine list and you won't be disappointed by the open monthly wines either. Super nice staff and cozy atmosphere. You should definitely reserve a table, otherwise the only option is to take the pizza with you ;) I can also recommend the lunch menu with a daily changing menu. Overall, the price-performance ratio is absolutely top.

We were with you on August 21st, 2024. It was really very nice. I really like the decor, the food was fantastic and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, I give a tiny minus star for the end of the evening. We all sat at the table and then a waitress cleared away all the glasses without a word. I would have liked a little hint along the lines of "Can I clear up now?" desired. Unfortunately, that had a bit of a getaway feel to it. Otherwise it was very comfortable!

When we visited Cologne, we looked for the most authentic cuisine possible, outside of the “usual”. We liked the atmosphere and the service was attentive and very friendly and everything went quickly. Carpaccio was excellent, the pasta unfortunately had a lot of cream and a lot of sauce, but a large (German) portion; didn't expect it. The star deduction is simply due to this unfortunately German habit of drowning everything in sauce. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Italian cuisine or anything special. Still, it was ok.

Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the praises of many guests during my visit. The food was ok! 6/10 with room for improvement. A lot of potential is wasted in the ambience and the service has been neglected.

If you're reading this, thank you my friend for this beautiful day, and a gift for my wife. One person like you replaces 40 others. The food is delicious! So much flavor in every dish! The place is rather small, they have the oven in the dining area so when the weather is warm, inside is a real Sauna!!!! Moreover, you can't play by card…. Even though Germany is known for cash payments… in Cologne you can pay by card without a problem everywhere, which made me thing about why they don't accept card payments.… quite suspicious but anyway…

First urgent recommendation: MUST RESERVE - IT'S FULL!!! ... And for good reason: everything, absolutely everything, was excellent! And: Let me ask you - how will a restaurateur in 2024 be able to offer such a lunch (selection) menu for € 15.90? Simply incredible! It should be obvious to everyone that this restaurateur doesn't need to give commissions to card organizations... ERGO: Take money with you and everything is fine!... We went to this nice restaurant for the first time yesterday. Huge selection of pizzas which were also huge and very tasty. The asparagus risotto was to die for. Very nice, professional service, nice atmosphere. We'll definitely come back. It would be nice if gluten-free pizzas were also offered.

The visit to Toscanini Pizza Tonno was very disappointing. You have to look for the toppings. Nothing on it. Rarely had such a bad pizza. Very loud atmosphere, worse than in a train station. No normal conversation possible. I can't recommend the Toskanini more highly. And 5 star reviews are a laughing stock.

I recently had a pizza at this restaurant and absolutely loved it! The pizza was outstanding – crispy base, fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned. Every single ingredient tasted amazing and the pizza was one of the best I've ever had. I would like to give special praise to the friendly service employee Louisa. She really made my visit unforgettable. Louisa was not only incredibly friendly and attentive, but also very professional. She made sure I didn't miss anything and really sweetened my evening with her great service. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything is perfect here: the food, the ambience and, above all, the first-class service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Delicious food and great service. Unfortunately not much choice of vegan dishes. You can also "veganize" the food by leaving out the cheese, but sometimes this isn't taken too seriously and in the end you still find parmesan in the food 🙈 If it becomes more vegan-friendly, the restaurant will too got a full 5 stars :)

Die meist guten Bewertungen auf Tripadvisor und anderswo haben sich nicht bestätigt beim Besuch im Restaurant Toscanini. Weder Service noch Qualität der Gerichte war besonders gut. Die Atmosphäre war laut und hektisch. Die Kellnerin war zwar bemüht, hatte jedoch überhaupt keine Ahnung vom angebotenen Wein - eh kein besonders guter italienischer Weißwein -, der wenig aussagekräftig im Geschmack und zudem zu warm war! Das Spargel-Risotto war wässrig, null Geschmack; die Pizze zwar groß, aber ebenfalls ohne Würze, alles recht fade. Die Salate waren besser, auch sehr große Portionen, aber in Dressing ertränkt und auch nicht besonders gewürzt. Warum das Restaurant keine Kartenzahlung zulässt, ist heutzutage schleierhaft. Leider auch ein eher negativer Aspekt. Insgesamt eine eher enttäuschende gastronomische Erfahrung.

A perfect visit! Friendly and relaxed reception with the request to wait briefly. After a minute the table was prepared and shown to me. I ordered a pizza from the menu but without the ham. The question immediately came as to whether the ham should be replaced with something else. The pizza was perfect. Nice and thin and crispy from the stone oven. After a third of the meal we asked if everything was okay. I asked for garlic oil and was immediately given garlic and chili oil. THIS IS SERVICE AND A PERFECT HOST! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Fuimos a almorzar y repetimos para la cena de Viernes Santo de 2024.. Totalmente recomendable. La lubina estaba igual que la de mi madre, la pasta deliciosa, los postres exquisitos y las pizzas riquísimas. Ángelo el hombre italiano que hace las pizzas es un jefe de los que ya no hay. No paraba de hacer pizzas, a la vez ordenaba, limpiaba y estaba pendiente de todo. Desde luego que regresaremos el año que viene en Semana Santa. Gracias por enseñar a mi hijo hacer su propia pizza. The restaurant was full but they created an extra table for us (2 adults, 1 child). My Son Wanted pasta carbonara but it wasn’t on the menu, they still Made it for Him. The food was delicious and Everybody was really lovely. Highly recommend!!

First time visit found spontaneously on Google. The starters were delicious. The pizzas from the stone oven and the pasta are also delicious. Service very friendly. If you suffer from lactose intolerance, you should only make sure that the creamy white wine sauce was made with cream. That wasn't on the menu. But otherwise excellent. We will be back!

The food is great but you can only pay cash. There is a notice to this effect on the door, but in 2024 this is extremely unusual. I saw several guests - like me - get money from the nearest ATMs. The fees shouldn't be the reason for this these days either, after all they are less than 1%.
