This restaurant had been on my list for a while. Inspired by the fond memories of my recent stay in Florence, I wanted to try the menu and definitely try Italian food. The menu and selection were manageable. The homemade bread with olive oil was delicious. We were suggested the Fauzza, a kind of homemade pizza, and we ordered it as a shared appetizer. I initially associated it with some kind of focaccia or pinsa. When the order arrived, it was more like a Neapolitan pizza. Delicious dough with a tasty topping. The ingredients tasted more like a fresher version of a Neapolitan pizza. I really liked the combination; it was something new. The pasta, on the other hand, was rather standard. The spaghetti was more like bucatini. The sauce, for me personally, was rather bland. The guancale was sliced ​​a bit too thin, making it too crispy for my taste. Next time, I would definitely try a different pasta dish. The Fauzza, however, was truly something special. I would definitely come back for this.

The positive reviews must still be from the previous owner. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but positive. The table was dirty, as were the glasses. We didn't even get a glass with the beer. The antipasti platter for the starter was, unfortunately, just a pile of overcooked and unseasoned vegetables. One pizza was completely burnt and therefore tasted extremely bitter, while the other, thankfully, was "only" half-cooked. Instead of a whole or at least half burrata, there were only a few flakes of it on the pizza. The gnocchi gigante were also overcooked to a mush. We couldn't complain, as we didn't see any of the waiters again after the food was on the table. Therefore, we sat in front of empty glasses for most of the evening. Even waving and calling were unsuccessful. To be fair, we ultimately didn't have to pay anything when we complained. We wanted to pay at least part of it, but they absolutely didn't want our money back. It's a shame; for a birthday dinner, this was a truly negative experience.

Not a bargain tourist trap, but solid, honest dining with a high standard. ⸻ Overall Impression Peppe Cucina Italiana impresses in almost every respect: authentic food, delicious dishes, a pleasant atmosphere, and good service. For me, it's one of the best places in Cologne for Italian food – especially if you value quality and not overpriced miscellaneous fare. After a friend introduced me to this Italian restaurant, I finally made it there today. What can I say? It's 100% worth it. The caponata alone is a poem, a treat for the palate. So wonderfully seasoned and composed, fantastic. The other dishes my friends had were also very, very good. I made the special trip from the "restaurant mile" along the promenade. The trip was worth it. Calamari fritti tasted like the sea. And I was able to order something to eat at 9:30 p.m.

To find out 1 hour after arrival that 2 of the dishes we ordered were not available is an impertinence. It's always possible that things aren't available, but then you say that when you hand over the menu, not after such a long wait! outrageous

We were there with two families and three small children and had made a reservation in advance. Everything went perfectly – the team was very attentive and took excellent care of everything, ensuring we had enough space for our stroller. The service was consistently friendly and child-friendly, and we felt completely at home. Highly recommended – we'd love to come back!

Went to visit FIBO in Cologne and at Peppe's in the evening. The food was extremely tasty, the staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was totally inviting. Clear recommendation!

I ordered the Antipasti Grande this evening and was extremely disappointed. They consisted only of overcooked vegetables (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach and a kind of egg tart) and did not come close to the product photo or my expectations. The price of €15 was definitely not appropriate.

It was very tasty we had a pizza Margherita. Mega crispy and fresh and once large noodles with minced meat balls. The sauce was very tasty, it was like eating at grandma's house, the music was very nice. I would happily go back and can only recommend Tiramisu to take away 💕

It was my first time since the restaurant moved to this location, the ambience is cosy and nice, the pasta that I ate was not to my expectations. I like Aldente but it was more than that.During the night there was an issue with a cupboard and the staff decided to fix it during working hours, it was very noisy and inconvenient. We ate, we did not finish the wine even and left. For a place like this, where the pasta price is more than the regular, I expect these things to be taken into consideration.

The food was okay. The service is okay, but the whole place is cold. We had to sit there with jackets on. The wine that was on the menu was not in stock. All in all, it was quite expensive in terms of price-performance ratio. We've been there several times now, but probably the last time. What a shame! There are simply too many restaurants in Cologne for that...

The spaghetti with pistachio cream and prawns was fantastic, and the fried octopus my friend had was perhaps the best ever, according to her. The prices were very reasonable, and the free bread with delicious oil as a starter was a nice touch. The only downside was that we sat downstairs, which was a bit uncomfortable with our faces against the glass of the front door, and it was quite noisy.

I had the food delivered. The carbonara was a 10/10, highly recommended! However, I am a bit disappointed with the antipasti piccolo. 3 slices of zucchini, eggplant and a few slices of pepper, for €9.50 is already very steep. But the taste is also great.

The two of us were there at short notice and for the first time, reservation online. The place was still very cool at 6 p.m.... Cat table with 2 men assigned to window corner, both of them could only eat with arms folded... Staff friendly though. Three white wines on the menu, two not there. Only the most expensive, glass 12.50! Then suddenly a cheaper Chardonnay is available... It was drinkable, but you should use higher quality glasses! Antipasti grande was just mediocre, not well seasoned either. Pulpo and scaloppine were good, side dishes like gratin were only dry and unseasoned, broccoli was cooked “dead”. Get a little limoncello on the house, good! Otherwise you didn't feel really comfortable, both of you were sitting there with a scarf and the table had to be changed quickly. The payment was made while standing on the way out. It was noticeable outside that the bill was for beef fillet instead of pork. Money was then refunded. It wasn't a nice visit there to be repeated! Simply too little and weak!

I didn’t have a reservation initially, but the waitress kindly managed to find me a spot, which I truly appreciated. The two options that caught my attention on the menu were the truffle pasta (which came with a detailed description of its ingredients) and the Gambas (described simply as “Einfach probieren,” which loosely translates to “just try it”). Faced with the difficulty of choosing, I asked the waitress for her recommendation. She suggested the Gambas, a dish centered around fish and prawns. I paired the meal with a fruity white wine, which complemented the flavors beautifully. The service was warm and accommodating, especially considering that I hadn’t made a reservation. However, my wine was only served when I was halfway through my Pasta Gambas. This would be my only critique, as I would have preferred to enjoy the wine alongside my meal from the very beginning. That said, I didn’t mind too much, as I was grateful to have been so warmly welcomed despite arriving unannounced. As for the meal itself, the Pasta Gambas was absolutely delicious. The deglazed sauce was rich in flavor yet wonderfully light, leaving a pleasant smile on my face. To end the evening, I had an espresso, which was the perfect finishing touch to an already delightful experience.

Unfortunately that was totally wrong this evening - food good, service/counter absolutely bad. I had reserved a table for 8 p.m. I was told it wasn't free yet, so I took a seat outside and waited for my buddy. Shortly after me, a walk-in (not reserved) came in and got a great table for two on the ground floor by the window. My friend and I then had to sit at a table for four in the corner on the first floor. Well, we then shared the Antipasto Grande - it was quite good, but I don't want to know how small the Antipasto Piccola would have been. The wines are nothing special, unfortunately the Lugana was not available. We both had the Gnocchi Giganti al Pisctacchio - I can only recommend it, it was very tasty and especially tip top with Parmesan and the two other condiments. Finally, I ordered 2 x 0.2l Nero d'Avola... I pulled myself together the whole evening that we got such a shitty seat and then they cheekily served us the rest of the piss from the red wine bottle. In the photo you can see that it was almost 0.15l instead of 0.2l. We are restaurateurs ourselves and we see when we are being cheated on. On request we were given more (without apology) and on the second request we were given a glass of red wine. We then refilled the drinks ourselves. Super embarrassing, I really don't know why the store is rated so well. In any case, we won't come again. The competition does its job much better. And at €95 (including tip), the evening wasn't exactly cheap either.

The waiter hit our table multiple times, once even hit me to the shoulder, and moved without noticing or giving any gesture in return. There was a strong smell of something burned. Constant noise from the kitchen, that some glass is breaking. Once it was so loud, they even turned the music volume high It's definitely not a 4.7. I'd say, 4.2 at the good day Oh, and about the tea. The plate was dirty. Not to mention I was served in just a glass with teabag init. 15 euros for 2 tea and small desert? Dissappointed

This Italian restaurant is an absolute insider tip! The food is incredibly delicious – typically Italian and prepared with a lot of love. From the crispy pizza to the fresh pasta, everything tastes like you're on vacation. The friendly staff also ensure that you immediately feel welcome and can relax like in a small trattoria in Italy. Even though the location on the main street isn't perfect, you quickly forget that once you're inside. It really is a clear recommendation – and without a reservation it will be difficult to get a place!

The food is very good, as is the service. The ambience is somewhat reminiscent of a snack bar, but very cozy. The reason why I only give it 1 star: They offer dishes from the daily menu at far inflated prices. We had fauzzes with Pulpo. The menu includes various fauzze at prices between €11 and €15. The fauzze (a type of pizza bread) with 4 squid arms cost €31. We specifically asked whether this was a mistake. But it wasn't. Pulpo is expensive to buy, was the succinct answer. My answer: Please don't. No recommendation.

This little Italian place is a must if you like pasta. The ingredients are fresh and prepared well. Classics like Carbonara or vegetarian options are really delicious. The menu changes every now and then which makes it interesting to discover new variations. Cold and warm antipasti as starter are very recommended. Different vegetables and meats are seasoned skillfully and you have big choice. We found the wines recommended by the owner to be excellent. Our favorite is the slightly sparkling Sicilian white wine. You should also consider trying the Sandwiches if you need variety.

The good reviews are difficult for me to understand 🤷🏼‍♂️. The good antipasti piccolo and the pizzas tasted good, but were nothing special. The pizzas had spartan toppings, no crispy base and had a very wide crust. Both the menu and the wine selection are very manageable. It is very loud outside (street noise and additional music), uncomfortable (garden chairs without cushions) and cramped. You are regularly brushed against by the service staff rushing past. My highlight: an excellent espresso.

We discovered this little Italian restaurant by chance. The food, antipasti, mixed salad with chicken and Sicilian pizza, were really tasty, but the open Primitivo was very flat and at EUR 10.50 a glass was completely overpriced. The delicious Doppio was on the house, actually very nice. Then you are also welcome to give a generous tip. But if you subsequently discover an additional “tip” item with EUR 3.40 on the bill, about which you were not informed, and you therefore gave a double tip, then that doesn’t work at all. Therefore, despite a double bonus on the house, there is still a bad aftertaste.

Zufällig sind wir einem MItsingkonzert von Frau Höpker im Kölner Hafen in diesem kleinen italienischen Restaurant gelandet. Das Essen (Antipasti, gemischter Salat mit Hähnchen und die sizilianische Pizza) war frisch und sehr lecker, lediglich der offene Primitivo war etwas flach, dafür war der Doppio (ging aufs Haus) wiederum ausgesprochen lecker. So etwas gibt es halt nur bei einem "Italiener"! Beim nächsten Kölnbesuch gerne wieder.

For that reason alone we would all come back any time. The service is quick, friendly and accommodating. The only negative point is that you notice a lot of the multi-lane road.

Unfortunately that was nothing. You sit at small, uncomfortable wooden tables right on the main street. The food came before the aperitif and was just average.

The food was very tasty, but after asking three times we didn't get an ashtray and after ordering twice, unfortunately the wine didn't come despite the long wait. The service staff also sat on the next bench and smoked together while we waited for the things in question. I personally find it inappropriate. Food was good. Unfortunately service is not the same.

Since we were in Cologne for a concert anyway. We also wanted to visit Peppe because it was highly praised on TV and is said to be one of the best. The Bolognese pasta. Unfortunately I am disappointed. It tasted really bad, the only thing we tasted was pepper. We expected more. Unfortunately I don't give it five stars because it wasn't that great. Birthday party in a small group, Saturday evening, football was going on outside, which I found nice. We all enjoyed the food, solid, but nothing more. The crew tended to be unfriendly, moved very quickly or hectically and seemed overwhelmed. Everything was somehow tolerable, but the gentlemen literally shouted throughout the entire store, didn't place the dishes and cutlery but rather threw them and communicated so loudly that you could no longer understand your own words inside. In the end we were charged for a bottle of wine more than consumed. That had nothing to do with Sicilian flair but seemed subtly chaotic. It seemed much more relaxed outside. I was happy when we were allowed to leave. Conclusion: food ok... and everything around it terrible, but also homemade.
