Unfortunately not a great experience. Invoice is only issued after 2-3 inquiries, €25 too much is debited. No one comes to the phone to correct it. Food was okay, service too. Unfortunately we waited a very long time

Hello, I never usually give bad reviews, but I think it's only right to point this out here. I hope it won't be deleted!! The place is really cozy, and the food was good too! The women's restrooms were really dirty. But that wasn't even as annoying as the unfriendly staff. One of the waitresses was very sweet and attentive. (Probably an Eastern European girl.) She really tried very hard. We were very disappointed with the rest of the service staff. Some were very aggressive and unfriendly, and we noticed it at other tables as well. This place was usually recommended to me. Unfortunately, I/we discovered that the good food doesn't make up for the unfriendly service! We were treated disparagingly from the entrance to the exit. I strongly doubt that this is how the owners treat their customers. So far, I haven't read any bad reviews regarding the staff, and we're very surprised!!!??? Were we just unlucky today and there at the wrong time? I don't know, but in any case, neither I nor my staff would enter the store again! Overall, we encountered a very aggressive and unfriendly atmosphere. Never experienced anything like that!! We can't recommend it!!!!!

Unfortunately my visit was not satisfactory. The service was unfriendly, especially the blonde employee. In addition, the salt shaker was broken and was not replaced, which meant my pasta was completely over salted. It would be desirable if more emphasis was placed on customer friendliness and small details.

I always enjoy my visit to Café Romeo. The offer is great and covered. The ladies are, each prettier than the other, have a sense of humor, are quick and always have a smile on their faces. Food very mediocre. Salad dressing was forgotten but delivered later. Unfortunately, it was only after receiving the salad that it turned out that the desired sauce was not available. Soft rolls for starters with cheese and oil, well... pizza tastes boring. Won't be going back.

The “Romeo Romeo” – what’s the point of this stupid double name? 😳 - It has been our favorite place to go for several years now when we are in the "Altstadt Nord" (the official name of this district on Kaiser-Wilhelm-, Hohenstaufen-, Habsburger-Ring). The staff is generally very nice, the prices are typical for the area (city center locations are always a little more expensive). The food on offer (from pizzas and pasta to the cake counter) is really tasty, and the list of drinks, including the coffee variations, is also impressive. Today we tried a cake made from Italian choux pastry with a kind of cheese cream. Really delicious! On the ground floor there are only 4 tables each for about 4 people, but on the 1st floor, on a kind of gallery, there is space for more guests. But be careful, only a narrow, higher staircase leads there (- the toilets are also on the 1st floor - ), which is why, apart from the outdoor dining in summer (!), the restaurant is not suitable for wheelchairs and people with walking difficulties. Hence the 1 star deduction. (In my opinion, 5 stars require real excellence anyway!) The Romeo Romeo is definitely a good recommendation for lunch, or in the summer evening! 🤗

We ordered two scoops of ice cream each for a group of 7 people. The employee at the counter demanded 40 euros. When we then said that we needed a receipt, the employee calculated 25.20 in the cash register. EC payment is not possible here, only cash, which left us with a bit of a surprised feeling. The quality of the ice cream balls was completely ok, but the employee urgently needed to repeat some math tasks or work directly on the receipt...

The food itself was okay, but the service was an absolute disaster. We found the staff to be very rude and unfriendly. The atmosphere is actually quite nice, but the employees tend to drag it down quite a bit.

We agreed to have breakfast at Romeo Romeo and were not disappointed. A-Z everything was great. The breakfast platter was enough for three people and was very appetizing. I would particularly like to emphasize that the girls who served outside were extremely attentive and very friendly. Thank you, we'll be happy to come back.

5 stars I was at Romeo Café & Co. in Cologne and absolutely loved it! I had a latte and a piece of cake – both were really tasty. The café is designed with great attention to detail and exudes a cozy atmosphere. The subtle background music rounds off the ambience perfectly. The service was super friendly and attentive. I was particularly impressed by the clean toilets - unfortunately not a given. The outdoor area is really inviting and ideal for simply unwinding when the weather is nice. Overall, a thoroughly successful visit – highly recommended! I'll be back. A little tip: feel free to put a QR code on your napkins and on the outside of the window display of your cake. Thanks

The noodles here are delicious! The portions are generous, you'll definitely feel full here. I can particularly recommend the Penne Romeo Romeo and the Penne Scampi Spinachi. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and really impressed me with their taste. I will definitely come back and try out the other pasta variants.

Service took a long time and I had to repeat myself or call service 3 times. I got strawberry iced matcha with my girlfriend, unfortunately it was a fail, somehow there were pieces of strawberries in it and I later had a bloated stomach.

The most delicious and biggest french toast I've ever eaten!

I was there with a few friends in the evening on Saturday. Let's start with the positive. The food was really tasty, you have to give them credit, and it's actually a nice restaurant, nice upstairs with the plastic plants BUT at the weekend you can understand that it is more crowded but PLEASE! Get more windows or better ventilation for the restaurant, especially in the upper area. It was so hot and stuffy, almost comparable to a sauna. And please fix your toilets, you simply couldn't lock the women's toilet, that was a bit weird because you didn't know when the next person might come. Partly it makes for a better work system, partly I only saw 1 waitress running around the whole time and taking care of the customers even though there were 3/4 of you. And unfortunately I had to wait a long time until I could place my order and until I received it. In the end the food was delicious and I would go again on a nice afternoon and sit outside 🫶✨

Super cozy, chic café, even if I would have called it a restaurant. Unfortunately there is a star deduction for the toilets, the ladies' trash can overflowed and it was also not possible to lock the toilet. If I want to eat in Cologne again, I would be happy to come back.

I can only speak for the small pick-up booth to the left of the restaurant: we ordered in advance, showed up at the agreed pick-up time and had to wait forever. It later turned out that the food was already ready and was now cold. But it was rather mediocre.

We had dessert and coffee there, which was really good. The location is also very nice. We'll definitely be coming back for dinner soon; what we saw on the other tables certainly looked excellent.

The food was undeniably good, but the staff’s behavior ruined our experience. First, when we were served the wrong dessert, the waitress became visibly upset. Then, despite having paid by card just a week earlier, we were suddenly told that they had only accepted cash for the past year. Due to their rudeness, we decided not to leave a tip, but the waitress kept the change without asking, assuming it as the tip. Even when I called to make a reservation, she was rude to me just because I didn’t speak German.

Servers were very rude, they sent the server who did not speak english to serve group of non-germans. The server got mad at us for additions to order and understood us wrong, then rolled her eyes. Place was also too loud to hear people next to you. Also, no lock in the women's bathroom. Menu had no info of allergens. Smoothie was good though

Best breakfast spot in Cologne!

There were six of us in the café to drink/eat affogato (espresso with ice). Unfortunately this dessert wasn't on the menu, but the waiter was very creative and made it for us anyway. We all enjoyed it, the ice cream ball could have been a little bigger, otherwise the creation with the speculoos sprinkles on top was very tasty. Thank you.

However, there were a few little things that didn't quite fit for me. There wasn't enough dressing in my salad for my taste, and the bruschetta was served on very thick bread that wasn't crispy enough for me. That's why I give it four stars instead of five.

I went there for brunch with my son. In the café we discovered that card payment didn't work. Since it was raining outside, I didn't want to go to the savings bank. Unfortunately the pancakes weren't that good. I had an eggdrop sandwich that was delicious. But nonetheless, the service was very nice and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We'll be back.

Unfortunately your website doesn't work and we drove an unnecessary 2 hours only to be told afterwards that there was no more breakfast/brunch. We just got ourselves a drink (we got far too watery spritzers) and then left the store as quickly as possible. When the drinks were brought to us, there was no one to take our order for 35 minutes. Toilets are definitely not suitable for such an oh-so-beautiful shop. They are really junkyards with a high risk of infection. Please fix your website or write your times on the menu because this Valentine's Day was a huge failure; (definitely won't come back because the gas was already more than the drinks afterwards, it wasn't worth it.

The food was delicious, although a few dishes were very similar. The prices are okay, but there could be more sauces on the sandwiches, for example. The coffee was okay too, but unfortunately the oat milk wasn't that good. I can absolutely recommend the French toast. Filling for one person and great as a dessert for two. The lemonades are pretty nice too. It was a bit late and the staff was quite busy and therefore perhaps a bit forgetful, but very nice.

The food was average. Every dish lacked the finishing touches to make it harmonious. The pancakes were not fluffy and almost cold, the yogurt was solid. The fried eggs on the sandwich were fried differently and the bread was cut too thick and therefore dry overall. There was no scrambled egg in the egg drop sandwich, but rather a crispy fried egg, too little sauce and little taste. I wouldn't recommend the tart either. The service depended on the person: While one waitress was very friendly and tried hard, one employee was almost rude and annoyed. The coffee was okay, you can get much better elsewhere in Cologne. We were seated so close to other tables that it was impossible to have a private conversation. We had to somehow ball up our jackets because there was no room for it. It was warm and stuffy. The women's toilet was dirty and couldn't be locked. The location of the restaurant is super central and would actually be a good place to go. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go here again.

Visited this place based on the rating but not at all how we expected it to be. Almost waited 45 min to be served and the food was below average. The egg in Shakshuka was way overcooked leaving a very strong pungent taste with the cast iron and the veggies were barely chopped and seemed like thrown in rush to get things on the table. As for the avocado toast, to our surprise there was “no avocado” at all as shown in pictures and just a very thin watery sauce that barely tasted anything remotely close to avocados and the chewy bread just made it impossible to finish. We were told it’s cash only establishment but we did see some people paying by cards too, so not really sure the need of enforcing cash only concept. Not worth the price or taste.

Beautiful and cozy cafe! You can sit downstairs or upstairs, but when it's full there's a bit of confusion from the service staff. We've been guests here twice and tried something out. The food was always delicious, but unfortunately we had long hair in our food twice! I would recommend that you only work with hair caps in the kitchen and that the waitress (if you have longer hair) work with your hair tied up, so this unpleasant problem can at least be minimized! What unfortunately doesn't work at all are the toilet rooms. Unfortunately, the ladies' door cannot be closed, so you have to be careful that no unpleasant situations arise if another guest wants to use the toilet. The cleanliness is also rather poor for the sanitary area. Note: Please get the hairy problem in the food and the sanitary areas under control then I'll be happy to give it a full 5 -⭐️ on the next visit

We arrived at the restaurant at 11:15am and asked a Turkish waitress if we could order lunch. She said this would only be possible from 2 p.m. However, half an hour later we saw that the table next door was already having lunch. When we asked the Turkish waitress about it again, we only got excuses. We have been to this restaurant many times before and have always been very happy with the other staff, but this time we were really disappointed. I recommend being careful here.

Absolute disaster!!! Our visit to the Romeo Romeo restaurant in Cologne was an absolute disaster - so bad that we left the place without eating anything. Reservation: Despite reservations, the tables were not prepared. Instead of being welcomed, we had to wait and were unpleasantly in the way of other guests. Organization? None! Service: The waitress with black hair was not only extremely unfriendly, but also completely disrespectful. She yelled at her colleague in front of the guests because the tables were supposedly placed incorrectly. This behavior is not only unprofessional, it simply leaves guests speechless. Flexibility: Although we arrived at 2:30 p.m., a time when one might expect both breakfast and lunch, we were given the absurd choice: the entire group must choose either breakfast or lunch. Individual orders? “Not possible, otherwise the kitchen will be a mess,” we were told flippantly. Even if this rule makes sense for the restaurant, the way we were treated was disrespectful and just plain rude. We actually wanted to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday. Some of us came especially from other cities and even from abroad. In the end we left disappointed and frustrated - no one from the staff asked why we were unhappy and there was no "goodbye" either. Luckily we discovered the Indian restaurant Flavor of India - we were warmly welcomed without a reservation. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the day was saved. Conclusion: Romeo Romeo was a complete disappointment - from unfriendly staff to chaotic organization. Luckily, there are restaurants like Flavor of India that know how to treat guests. Romeo Romeo? Never again!
