The Bauer Wilms restaurant immediately impresses with its beautiful location, ample parking, and appealing ambiance – a promising start to the visit. The beer garden is also a real highlight, especially on warm days, and is a great place to linger on a bike ride. It's perfectly adequate and pleasant for a drink and a small snack. However, the culinary part of the experience unfortunately leaves much to be desired. The dishes overall seem uninspired and uninspired. The schnitzel was particularly disappointing – a ready-made product from the freezer that hardly impressed with its taste. Personally, I wouldn't go out to eat for that kind of quality; I can do better at home. The staff makes an effort, although there's still room for improvement in terms of friendliness. Some of the ladies could be a bit more open and welcoming. We were particularly impressed by the waitress, who was apparently new to the team. We already knew her from another restaurant, where her "cool" demeanor had also been noticed. Even though she's clearly trying not to fall back into old habits, you can still sense a certain reserve that makes the service seem rather cold. Conclusion: For a quick stop in the beer garden, Bauer Wilms is definitely an option. However, if you're looking for a special culinary experience, you should temper your expectations or look elsewhere. The restaurant was definitely better in the past.

A nice self-service beer garden, now again. Stauder Pils, regional wine, Aperol, etc. – great view of the Rhine. A playground next door. Restrooms are available, but they're rudimentary and clean. That can be fixed. Maybe it should be. The food is okay and somehow different every year. Service isn't exactly there.

Food is OK, but neither is the staff rude or at least not very friendly in 8/10 cases. Unfortunately, the location is great with a beautiful view of the Rhine under the trees (even if there is no service there for reasons that are not entirely clear to me.

Wir waren als Gruppe mit Vorbestellung dort, Essensauswahl klein, aber dafür war das Essen toll und sehr günstig. Getränke: Auswahl an Cocktails sehr innovativ, die empfohlenen Cocktails waren sehr lecker. Haben im Biergarten gesessen, es kam immer jemand und hat neue Bestellungen aufgenommen bzw. Getränke gebracht, ein sehr gelungener Abend.

Unfortunately closed on Friday when the weather was great, without this being announced. €8 parking fee wasted. Annoying

The food is tasteless, like pre-packaged food (schnitzel, baked potatoes, and salad) that's been hastily prepared. Far too expensive for such cheap dishes. The staff is nice and friendly. Also, the terrace tables aren't wiped clean.
