Even though there were few people, only people ordering food were allowed into the garden and interior. The rest at the tables outside, where there are no waiters, is a bit strange.

Nice restaurant with a view of the Rhine, friendly service, access control with chain barriers and registration that takes some getting used to.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has lost a lot of its hospitality, if you don't want to eat you have to get your own drinks, you are no longer allowed to drink your drink in the house, and everything is separated by chains, you no longer feel comfortable here. We have been here twice every year, but not anymore.

You can sit here very nicely and look over the Rhine. My wife and I like to stop here when we go on a tour with our motorcycles. The food goes like this. But the view is great.

Everything that is getting old. Service only if you eat something and the area is cordoned off with a chain... (I've never seen anything like that before) Children 2nd class if you just want something to drink. Small pot of coffee for €3 was barely drinkable... it was just bitter... not recommended.

Nice atmosphere, nice location with a view of the Rhine. A good selection of dishes is offered at fair prices. Unfortunately, the drinks in the beer garden are only offered in the 0.5l version.

The self-service food is outrageously expensive. We will never go there again. 1 portion of fries with mayo 5.50 euros

We stopped there last Sunday (bike tour) for a fresh Erdinger non-alcoholic drink. It's really great to sit there and has a really nice view of the Rhine, there are two areas, one is the restaurant where you are served and then you can have your drinks Ordered food ourselves...and really liked it...we didn't eat

The three of us had a relaxed, fun Sunday. Service relaxed and always there for us. I ordered the tuber with salmon...five stars plus for that alone. Looking forward to next time!!!

We went for a drink at the Rheinwacht for the first time on Sunday. We were greeted and treated in a friendly manner. Around 5 p.m. we were very rudely asked to clear the table by 6 p.m. at the latest because we didn't want to eat anything and the table should be cleared for customers who were also willing to eat something. I come from the catering industry myself but I have never experienced anything so outrageous.

HYGIENE AND SERVICE bottom drawer. Were there today, my girlfriend got a dirty glass, so far no problem. She went to a waitress to change the glass, this waitress obviously didn't notice that my friend went in with her to take the fresh glass with her. The employee at the counter, who was obviously the boss's son and was supposed to give out a new glass, LICKED the glass with his tongue, wiped it dry on his apron and told the waitress to give this glass to my friend. He obviously didn't notice that my girlfriend was standing right next to him either. When I mentioned that this was intolerable and that I would like to talk to his superior and he just called "Dad" into the back room, the supposed boss and father of the counter worker came, but he didn't accept it and didn't even apologize for it. However, the counter worker apologized. However, it is still intolerable, as who knows how many glasses or dishes have already been unnoticed with his saliva. Definitely my last visit there and I would advise anyone not to visit this place. Simply disgusting behavior.

Unique location on the Lower Rhine. Ideal for bike tours and excursions.

One star is still too many. Was there today with my neighbors. We were spoken to very rudely. Got coffee twice, although the second one was 70 cents more expensive. Impossible 😯 Got very rude answers. Unfortunately there is no alternative option. Never again

Very good food, very nice corner, but currently only self-service

Today we were on the other side of the Rhine and wanted to follow a tip for delicious food. So we sat in the Rheinwacht and our expectations were totally exceeded. The fitness plate with schnitzel and salad was AMAZING. The schnitzel wasn't smashed to pieces, but almost cutlet thick, super juicy, delicious breading, no cartilage, no pieces of fat with a fried egg = amazing! The salad is MEGA FRESH and crunchy with a light, non-dominant salad yoghurt sauce BELOW...and not poured over it!! The staff was super nice / friendly and good... and the seat in the back corner with a direct view of the Rhine in a few meters just rounded things off. So that's what you get from it: We'll be back :-)))

!!!The boss of the house!!! The service was nice but the communication with the boss via email was bottom drawer! I, who had never played mini golf before, asked if it was possible to reserve holes like this. Then came pat answers like quote, "Are you serious? Husband can play with other guests if you want to use the facility alone, I get 250 euros per hour" and "If you reserve a mingolf course, what's wrong with you, go somewhere else?" The gentleman seems to have enough guests. I have never experienced such an unfriendly host in my life.

This was the second time I was there on a longer bike tour. The atmosphere is rustic. You can sit outside and there is enough space in the hut. The menu is very appealing - there should be something for every taste. I've now eaten the cottage salad for the second time and I have to say that the amount of different types of lettuce, the chicken breast strips and the goat cheese really fills you up. The crowning glory is the homemade sauce - highly recommended and really tasty.

Unfortunately, the salad on my plate wasn't washed because it crunched constantly when CHEWING, so I didn't want to eat it anymore! The salmon burger contained caramelized red onions, but unfortunately they were ICE COLD. This meant that the only warm thing on the burger was the pulled salmon. When I asked, I was told that the onions were not fresh but had been prepared days before and had come out of the fridge, very disappointing! Unfortunately, it's far from being freshly prepared!

Nice restaurant right on the Rhine where at least the price and performance in terms of food are still right. The only problem they sometimes have is their often poor hospitality. If you come like e.g. again today (Tuesday 9/7) at 3:30 p.m., in beautiful weather and you just want to have a drink on the veranda, you are sent away despite several empty tables, or sent to a less comfortable gravel garden with a closed self-service counter. No matter how many times you've been there before, there's good food and usually generous tips. You simply notice that even a regular customer with occasionally lower sales because he doesn't want to eat at that time seems to be an unwelcome guest at that time. Empty tables or not. A real shame :(

We were very impressed with this restaurant. Even though 95% were pensioners who made great use of the service staff. The food, from starters to dessert, tasted good and was large enough in portions. We had a nice table right by the window with a view of the Rhine. The service staff were very attentive and really good, something you rarely find anymore. The price-performance ratio was also good. You can park directly adjacent to it for free. We recommend

Yesterday (May 20, 2024) we were spontaneously guests at the Rheinwacht. We were there for the 2nd time. The first time we were impressed with the service and the food. That's why we spontaneously decided to eat there again yesterday. And what should I say... Once again the trip from Oberhausen was worth it. Very friendly staff, super tasty food and the price performance is completely okay for this quality. We sat in it. But you can also sit outside by the water. The little guests are also thought of here. There is a playground outside for fun and inside there is a nice play area for the little ones. Keep it up. We will definitely come to you again.

When the weather is nice, you can sit outside in a wonderful atmosphere, right on the Rhine. The service is friendly and on the ball. The food, home-style, is very good. Recommended!

very disappointing. Beer garden only for dining guests. everyone else has to go to the self-service area without staff and without table cleaning. 2-class society.

The dishes will probably be changed for Father's Day, I took schnitzel with sauce.. Ready-made broth without any side dishes.. When I asked whether you could get fried potatoes, this was answered in the negative, although the table next door got some... Otherwise everything was good!

Apart from the beautiful view of the Rhine, I can't recommend this restaurant. The food was just bad. The waiter very friendly. The sanitary facilities consisted of a toilet trailer behind the hut. Rustic can also be very beautiful, but nothing was beautiful here.

Delicious German food with a great view of the Rhine. You can sit both inside and outside. Mini golf course is included. Staff very friendly.

The atmosphere is rustic and actually very good, but... The heating, which came on at times, was quite loud and the wooden benches were quite hard in the long run despite the sheepskins.

War letzten Sonntag da.absolut gemütlich und super freundliche aufmerksame Bedienung...also hab selten besser irgendwo beim Kaffee gesessen

Für mich eine Empfehlung. Preis, Leistung ist OK. Es schmeckt auch recht gut. Das Ambiente ist cool, schade nur, daß bei Sicht auf dem Rhein nur Selbstbedienung ist. Trotzdem für Ausflügler ein Tip. Schade, daß es von der Straße eventuell nicht so wahrgenommen wird. Man sieht an den Sternen das es hier nett ist.

Heute waren wir mit 8 Personen zum Mittagessen dort und haben uns alle sehr wohlgefühlt! Die Bedienung / der Service waren sehr gut, alle waren sehr freundlich. Getränke kamen sehr schnell, das Essen nach einer absolut angemessen Zeit. Uns hat es allen sehr gut geschmeckt! Das Ambiente ist toll, sehr urig und gemütlich! Hier kann man sich nur wohlfühlen! Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: ein bisschen Hintergrundmusik wäre super! :) Wir hätten gern noch Minigolf gespielt, das hat das Wetter leider nicht zugelassen. Doch im Sommer ist das bestimmt toll und auch den Biergarten draußen kann ich mir dann schön vorstellen. Beim Essen hat man einen tollen Blick auf den Rhein und wenn man mag, kann man auch direkt dort spazieren gehen. Es war ein schöner Besuch, vielen Dank, wir kommen gern wieder.

Wir waren spontan heute zum Essen in der Rheinwacht, wollten nur was am Wasser sitzen und genießen... Da bot sich was leckeres zu Essen geradezu an und was soll ich sagen?!? Lecker! Einfach nur lecker! Mein Mann hatte die Haxe, ein Traum... 😍 Die Sauce ein Gedicht. 😍 Ich hatte den Ziegenburger, ein Träumchen 😍 Der Service war auch super, echt aufmerksam und fix. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nochmal Kompliment an die Küche ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ In der Rheinwacht gibt es einen kleinen netten Spielbereich für Kinder, die Einrichtung ist "Hütten-Romantik-Rustikal", zur Toiletten geht es nach draußen, etwas eng, aber sehr sauber. 👍 Ich denke unter der Woche ist es relativ einfach einen Tisch zu bekommen, bei sehr gutem Wetter/Wochenende bietet sich wahrscheinlich eher eine Reservierung an. Wir kommen definitiv (bald) wieder. 👍

Die sehr rustikale Atmosphäre hat uns super gefallen, am Service gab es nichts zu bemängeln. Ich habe ein Schlemmerschnitzel mit gratinierten Kartoffeln gegessen, ansich sehr lecker, aber leider war das Schnitzel sehr trocken und die Kartoffeln zu kalt. Meine Frau war mit ihrem Burger und den Pommes sehr zufrieden.

Eine richtig schöne Lokalität direkt am Rhein. Sehr netter Service und die Blockhütte gibt einem das Gefühl in den Bergen im Urlaub zu sein. Das ist Essen auch Klasse. Typische Karte,nix extravagantes,aber sehr lecker und Preis- Leistung stimmt.

Ein toller Ort um sich zu entspannen und den Schiffen auf dem Rhein zuzuschauen. Dazu gibt es leckere Speisen und Getränke. Die Preise sind für den Standort völlig in Ordnung. Es hat sich die letzten Jahre sehr viel verändert und die Minigolfanlage wurde frisch modernisiert. Es gibt leider nur wenige Parkplätze, aber man kann auch ein wenig entfernter parken und paar Schritte laufen. Der Service hatte schon mal freundlichere Tage, wobei an dem Tag des Besuches sehr wenig los war, daran kann es nicht gelegen haben. Wir werden wieder kommen :)

Immer schön am Rhein im Biergarten zu sitzen. Entweder im SB Bereich ein Bier trinken und was Essen. Oder im Restauran Lecker Essen. Ich empfehle das Schnitzel mit Pommes sehr Gut 😋

Immer eine Pause wert, waren mit dem Rad da, konnten unsere Akkus laden und den tollen Blick auf den Rhein genießen.

Sehr schöner Biergarten direkt am Rhein gelegen. Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal, bis auf den Herren in dem Getränkewagen im Selbstbedienungsbereich. Unfreundlich und sehr reserviert. Das Essen top und ausreichend. Preis Leistung ist ok.

Eine der schönsten Lokalitäten die ich kenne. Toller Service, ausnahmslos alle sind wirklich freundlich. Man hat das Gefühl, daß sie ihren Job gerne machen. Das Essen ist Klasse. Das Ambiente,direkt am Rhein, fantastisch. Ich kann wirklich jedem empfehlen, ob für ein Kaffee, Bier oder ein leckeres Essen mal dorthin zu gehen und alles zu genießen. Einmal dort, will man immer wieder dahin. Garantiert. Fantastisch!

Ein sehr schön gelegenes Lokal direkt am Rhein. Der Hamburger ist sehr zu empfehlen! und die anderen Gerichte sahen auch ganz gut aus. Man sollte aber nicht zu lange bleiben, es wird pünktlich Feierabend gemacht und das wird einem sehr deutlich mitgeteilt! Bei der Verabschiedung auf dem Parkplatz kam ein junger Mann auf uns zu und meinte, er hätte jetzt 10 Stunden gearbeitet und er könne unser blödes Gelaber nicht mehr hören :( so ist das wenn man sich jahrelang lang nicht sieht, da hat man viel zu erzählen. Wir 4 und auch die anderen Grüppchen sind dann ganz schnell in die Autos und nach Hause, schade.

Super Ambiente. Wunderschöner Ausblick auf dem Rhein. Aber 5,50 Euro für ein 0,5 l Softdrink ist viel zu teuer. Ich bin sehr geschockt nach Hause gefahren.

Beim Essen schmeckt man teilweise Fertigprodukte. Der Service ist mal mehr , mal weniger aufmerksam. Einen Serviceroberter braucht es dort aber nicht !!!! Die Toiletten Situation geht überhaupt nicht.

Nachdem wir jahrelang das Restaurant nicht mehr besucht haben, muss man sagen das sich das Essen zum positiven verändert hat. Die Burger waren top auf dem Punkt gebraten, Pommes sehr lecker. Rippchen sind sehr gut. Die Ofenkartoffel war leider nicht so frisch, wahrscheinlich in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt. Die Bedienungen waren freundlich und aufmerksam. Lillet Wild Berry ein ordentliches Glas voll für den Preis, da kann man nicht meckern.
