The Bauer Wilms restaurant immediately impresses with its beautiful location, ample parking, and appealing ambiance – a promising start to the visit. The beer garden is also a real highlight, especially on warm days, and is a great place to linger on a bike ride. It's perfectly adequate and pleasant for a drink and a small snack. However, the culinary part of the experience unfortunately leaves much to be desired. The dishes overall seem uninspired and uninspired. The schnitzel was particularly disappointing – a ready-made product from the freezer that hardly impressed with its taste. Personally, I wouldn't go out to eat for that kind of quality; I can do better at home. The staff makes an effort, although there's still room for improvement in terms of friendliness. Some of the ladies could be a bit more open and welcoming. We were particularly impressed by the waitress, who was apparently new to the team. We already knew her from another restaurant, where her "cool" demeanor had also been noticed. Even though she's clearly trying not to fall back into old habits, you can still sense a certain reserve that makes the service seem rather cold. Conclusion: For a quick stop in the beer garden, Bauer Wilms is definitely an option. However, if you're looking for a special culinary experience, you should temper your expectations or look elsewhere. The restaurant was definitely better in the past.

We reserved a table for six people and it worked out! The restaurant was very full and the acoustics were unbearable... very, very loud! After speaking to the waiter (if we put two tables together) we went out into the beer garden! Shortly afterwards the waitress appeared and explained to us that it was forbidden to put two tables together!!! After a long discussion an exception was made... ridiculous!!! The service was rather unfriendly! The food was not hot, barely lukewarm! The chips were rock hard and impossible to enjoy! The food was poorly presented! The prices for a millimeter thick schnitzel with inedible chips... oh well. We will definitely not be eating there again!

We had a very good meal here last night; every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. It's a bit noisy, but in nice weather, it's also busy. Nevertheless, everything was served promptly. Thank you.

We went to Willms for the first time in years and were absolutely surprised by the very pleasant change. The food is excellent! Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the service!!!!!! The first time, the tables around us were so crowded that I had to ask if we should leave. The second time, everything went very well, perhaps because that unfriendly waitress wasn't there. The girls gave it their all, which we always appreciate. The third time, after about 20 minutes, our menu was handed to us (which is a friendly way of putting it) with the comment that we could take a look. No one asked for a drink or even a small apology for the wait. It's all no problem when you see that it's stressful. And the fact that everyone was busy except for the person in question didn't make it any better. So we left without drinks or food. Sometimes one person can ruin a lot of things.

We were there on a Saturday evening. The yard is very pretty and the beer garden and inn are inviting and ok. The service was anything but inviting. Apparently due to a lack of staff, the boss helped to serve and exuded an unpleasant, unwilling and bad-tempered rush. Only she took orders - the other service people were allowed to hand out and clear away. Your orders were therefore not passed on but ignored. Orders for drinks were repeatedly ignored by the boss, who was running around hectically, so that the cost of drinks was not a problem afterwards. The atmosphere was otherwise like that of a train station. Cozy is definitely different. The food was ok and maybe a little better than a chip shop. Dessert (chocolate cake) was actually good.

A huge disappointment. From A to Z, everything usually goes wrong here. This great location in the middle of the forest is very beautiful, but the gastronomy on offer here is bottom drawer. Either there are far too few staff or they have not yet been properly trained. The food is overpriced and tastes nothing special. Maybe it will get better at some point. But in the last few years things seem to be going downhill here. In addition, the owner has already tried several times to remove my negative reviews here. Apparently the truth about this place is intangible to him.

Stopped in for the first time on a weekday around 3 p.m.! Wow great ambience Bauer Bauer actually expected something different! Good time granted, it wasn't that busy anymore, several tables paid and left the restaurant, maybe 10 tables in the whole restaurant were still occupied! A young, tall waiter served me very nicely and friendly! I decided on wilms schnitzel with fresh mushrooms and fried potatoes! It didn't take long and we rarely got hotter, fresh fried potatoes that weren't kept warm! Schnitzel too! We also experienced a change in ownership years ago and the extension was expanded! I can well imagine that there are longer waiting times on the weekend and the waiters are a bit stressed! Everything was perfect for me! There is also a large beer garden! Greetings from Moers until next time!!!

Although it was very busy, we were able to get a table with the help of the very friendly staff. The Wiener snitzel with fries and salad, as well as the red house wine, were delicious. Despite the crowds, there was a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. In short, highly recommended. If we stay at vd Valk (5 minutes walk) again, we will definitely go here again.

Bauer Wilm’s in Gladbeck is undoubtedly one of the more upscale addresses when it comes to dining in a rustic, elegant atmosphere. The food was absolutely excellent and deserves a full five points. Every course tasted great, was prepared with great attention to detail, and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable. There's really nothing to complain about here. The atmosphere is also first class. The mix of modern style and traditional farm charm creates a wonderful setting in which you immediately feel at home. Whether for a romantic dinner or a family meal, Bauer Wilm's offers a place where you will enjoy staying. The service was quick and effective, but unfortunately there was a bit of a lack of warmth. Especially when dealing with small children, the service staff could have shown a little more patience or a smile, which I personally find a shame. It leaves the impression that you are “working through” the process rather than making guests feel welcome. However, what disappointed me the most were the toilets. For such a posh restaurant, you would expect them to be just as well maintained as the rest of the location. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case: a broken urinal, crooked toilet seats and general uncleanliness left a negative impression. Cleanliness is the hallmark of every restaurant, and this is something that urgently needs to be improved. Overall I give it four stars. With better service and better-maintained sanitary facilities, Bauer Wilm’s would be a perfect address!

Everything was right here: Had a quick meal here in the early evening and managed to get a table. The attentive waitress initially assigned us a table in the middle of the room. But after she saw our dog, she asked us if we would prefer a table at the edge. We all liked the food, the portions were sufficient, and the seasonal menu expands the offerings. The ambience of the half-timbered house and the furnishings are stylishly coordinated. Reservation is advisable. Our next visit is already planned.

I can still remember visiting this restaurant with my parents and grandparents in the 1960s for coffee and plum cake. Since then, I was back at Bauer Wilm's for the first time last weekend, and of course that has changed enormously in the last 50 years. With mother in a wheelchair you have restrictions and we showed up on Sunday lunchtime without a reservation. That wasn't a problem, all the employees were very accommodating, we went up one step with a mobile ramp and got a nice table. Since it was a little too cool we sat inside, but I can see that it's packed here in the summer. The food was excellent, mother and I had various schnitzels with side dishes and wheat beer at a good temperature. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely stop by again for a good meal next time I'm back in the country.

We were there today with 5 people, including a child and a wheelchair user. The service was great. Very accommodating, friendly and attentive. Rarely have I had such a great waiter. The food came quickly even though it was pretty busy. Which unfortunately made it quite loud. Although you can't complain about that on a Friday evening. The food was really tasty, especially for good prices. We were definitely not there for the last time.

Well, "Bauer Wilm's" is a pretty hip place - when we were there it was really busy and the staff had their hands full. Nevertheless, the team remained super relaxed and friendly, which was really impressive. You could tell that the people there took their jobs seriously: everyone was well-groomed and in a good mood, despite the hustle and bustle. Now for the food: It was okay, but honestly nothing that blew me away. The dishes were solid, but nothing you would rave about for days later. So if you're looking for a culinary highlight, you might not find it here. But if you just want to enjoy a decent meal with nice service in a relaxed atmosphere, you've come to the right place at "Bauer Wilm's". Overall, a cool place, especially if you want to spend a casual evening with friends - just don't expect any big surprises with the food.

The waitress was very attentive and brought the menu and asked what we would like to drink. After the drinks came, we ordered schnitzel twice and were thrilled. The food was very tasty, but it is not cheap. We spent around 30 euros per person and some of us were still a bit hungry afterwards as the portions are quite small. That was the second and last visit to the Bauer Wilm's restaurant. Let's start with the ambience. Nice location in the middle of Wittringen. The furnishings are rustic but still very beautiful, especially the real wood tables are a real eye-catcher. Unfortunately, some of the chairs are thrown together and dirty. The lighting on the ceiling flickers and the table lighting is improvised with floor lamps. Nevertheless, the restaurant initially seems inviting. The toilet is a disaster and seems to only be cleaned irregularly. The food was a bad joke. The portions for our group were far too small, poorly seasoned and served carelessly. I ordered baguette with aioli as a starter. The cheapest bread sticks were served. 4 pieces in total. These were so small that the price of €4.50 was definitely not justified. The aioli was ok, but not particularly tasty. It looked like it was simply bought at the supermarket. For the main course I had the disappointing pepper schnitzel. Consisting of two small fatty schnitzels, 6 croquettes and a thin pepper sauce. Lovely, but tasted okay. The price of over €15 was once again not justified as I was still hungry after the main course. My friend's main course was ridiculous. He had pasta in tomato sauce with shrimp. Positive: The food was hot. Negative: The sauce consisted of unseasoned tomato puree and very few shrimp. My friend's meal, the Bauer Wilm's Schnitzel, was a little better. The portion was a little bigger. The hollandaise sauce was tasteless, the mushrooms were almost raw and the pommers came from a frozen bag. As an amateur home cook, I could have done a better job with this meal. The drinks were cold and delicious as usual. The service was okay, but could have been quicker and more efficient. Even though the restaurant was half empty, we had to wait a long time for service, especially for additional drinks and payment. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, but a little slow. I can't recommend anyone to visit this restaurant, especially since I've had negative experiences twice.

We came there as a group, despite the stated number of people, there were 5 seats too few. A table was added. Drinks were taken quite quickly, but more like in a relaxed pub than in a restaurant, they came quite quickly. The food was still taken More like a chip shop than a restaurant. The tone was rather harsh, which was similar when the food plates were handed out. The plates are clearly laid out with no decorations and very careless. The hamburger tasted good, the fries were flabby and small and the whole thing for €14.50. The restaurant itself was very large, super loud and modern ambience. My husband had a pepper schnitzel, the sauce had no taste and looked like the goulash soup my sister-in-law had. My conclusion was that wouldn't go there a second time. Parking was a disaster.

I was there three weeks ago and wanted to reserve a table for 18 people for the end of August. But since a buffet was supposed to be set up for 40 people, I was told that it didn't fit and that we should go somewhere else.
