The right place for a family day

Attentive service, very friendly team and a very nice atmosphere. Even though the food tastes good, the portions are too small to fill me up and the price is too high, which is why I have to deduct a star. I understand that prices have increased, but compared to equal competitors it is simply not enough. What bothered me a bit was that one of us only ordered a meatball with sword mustard (4.90 euros) and wanted an extra portion of fries. The waitress suggested changing the order to “meatball with creamed savoy cabbage with sword mustard” and then replacing the creamed savoy cabbage with fries. It later turned out that this change meant a difference of 8 euros, which was absolutely not a good deal for a small portion of fries. Of course I agreed to it, but if something like this happens more often, word might get around. What a shame! I still think that this place is ideal for family celebrations, company parties and weddings. The restaurant is also barrier-free.

Very beautiful forest with many large and small paths. Unfortunately it's too crowded, but it's worth a visit 👍

We had our company's summer party there. Nice location with a large hall and beer garden. The service and the grill buffet were excellent.

We were here for a lecture. There is plenty of free parking available. In the entrance area you come directly to the counter. A nice lady welcomed us there. After a short orientation we went to the prepared room. It was small, with a screen and about 25 chairs. Unfortunately it got warmer and warmer during the lecture, which the speaker also noticed. Apparently there was no air conditioning. After about 1.5 hours everyone was probably happy to get out. In between we asked for drinks. The lecture was informative. At other temperatures it would have been really nice

Today my son and I went on a short bike ride to the Freischütz. When we got there we went into the beer garden and ordered something to eat and drink at the counter. Payment was made with EC card. When I asked for a receipt, I was given the EC card receipt - but no receipt/invoice with what we paid or no VAT was shown. When I asked whether I could receive a breakdown of my order including VAT, the "nice" lady said that this was not possible - you had to say that in advance. When I asked again that I didn't have to say this, the lady told me I could leave if I didn't like it. After another complaint the restaurant apologized. We didn't get our fries or the deposit (which we probably paid - which I can't understand since I didn't get an invoice/receipt) - so €4.50 was gone. If you go there and eat something, pay attention to what you pay and whether it even goes through the checkout - here it seems that some things are probably booked past the "checkout".

Beer garden in an idyllic location with delicious little things to eat.

Nice big beer garden. Can only be used to a limited extent with a wheelchair or walker, there is gravel almost everywhere. Free parking spaces. Big plus, nice playground and an electric ride for children (cost extra)

Had dinner there with former work colleagues. My schnitzel was very tasty. The price is reasonable for the quality. Ambiance is a bit dignified but cozy. See you next time.

Very popular excursion destination near Dortmund. The directly adjacent Schwerter Forest invites you to take long walks. Afterwards you can eat and drink well. We drive here often on a daily basis.

Just to take a quick walk with the family and the children is perfect, the climbing forest is awesome, the prices in the beer garden are a bit higher, but you can keep an eye on the children when they are running around, the only drawback is the chassis the children are now at €2 per mini-trip

We celebrated our wedding here for two weeks. The rooms and the food were great. The service was sufficient and friendly. Unfortunately, we were not at all satisfied with the organizer MUTO HEIMATGASTRONOMIE. Our contact person was at a wedding over the weekend and perhaps that's why he was only half-hearted about it. Various agreements were not kept. As a result, it was not possible for us to decorate as we would have liked. Then, despite clear agreements, no one was there to receive the bride. She had to gain access with the help of a craftsman who happened to be present because otherwise the guests would have already seen her before the wedding. This caused unnecessary panic and stress just before the wedding. In the end the buffet was thrown into a bin even though it had been agreed several times that it would be taken away. And then there were little things that the staff from the freischütz (although they mentioned several times that they were not responsible for) could be solved with the help of the staff. I would like to thank you again for that. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend MUTO HEIMATGASTRONOMIE at all

Spaten Garten (beer garden) is always worth a visit. Self-service concept with a small menu compared to the one in the restaurant. Particularly suitable for families with small children. Parking is free and plentiful.

Went there as a group, the employees were super nice, nice and humorous. The briefing was also great fun. There are many opportunities to climb and there is something for everyone, no matter whether big or small

The quality of the food was very good and the beer garden invites you to stay. Personally, I don't like the ambience in the restaurant that much, which is why I deducted a star.

Prices are completely exorbitant and if you know it from before you will be disappointed. I think it's outrageous to take so much money for these old, shabby ATTRACTIONS, because without money no child can do anything there. In my opinion, even drinks are far too expensive (an Alster, a Cola and a Sprite €17). I can't recommend it

We were quite disappointed; after visiting the climbing garden, the service almost gave us the impression that we weren't worthy of dining there and the flexibility left a lot to be desired when it came to the food. The prices and portions were in keeping with the elitist appearance, but not really justified for us…

Unfortunately, this time the visit wasn't as good as usual. We were assigned a table in the somewhat drafty front area. Then there was a long hair under my daughter's schnitzel...we got a replacement, even though the waiter insisted that it couldn't have been from one of her employees. But then why was it UNDER the schnitzel? Well, the wait for the starter was quite long and the main course “The Waldschrat” was delicious, but I’m not sure whether it was worth the price. Ultimately it is a Jägerschnitzel with tiny chopped fried potatoes. We'll still be back, the outdoor area is nice for the children in sunny weather and you can sit outside.

I have known the Freischütz for 30 years. There was a lot of change during this period. Mostly for the better. But now something has gone wrong. Could it be that the beer garden is no longer part of it?? I still know where many families with large children were there because there was a lot on offer for the children. The things are there now but they no longer seem to be functional. I have no idea, it could be different. At least it was noticeable that there wasn't a child there late this Saturday afternoon.... and apparently the beer garden is supported by Spaten. A Munich beer....Munich!!! In Dortmund??? What's going on? And there's also Bavarian food... well... I don't think that concept works here. Where in the past you couldn't get your foot on the ground and had to wait for a table, the beer garden is now only 15% full. I'm not coming back for a while. I prefer drinking Dortmund beer. A pity.

Nice, large beer garden with mini golf course, small. Children's playground and some small rides (carousel, loping track, large swing, cable car, boat slide) Children have fun there. Delicious drink, sit down and relax. Next door there is a beautiful climbing forest.

We've been back here for years and are still impressed, even under the new tenant. Service is very good and the food is excellent. Very nice beer garden with a great playground, ideal for families. Dogs are also allowed, which is ideal given the park.

Dinner for five people. Everyone ordered something different - and everything was convincing without exception! Very attentive service! The orders were taken by the head waiter without taking notes and served at the same time for everyone and in the right place. Something like that has become rare these days. Bravo👍

We recently attended an event in the large hall. The staff tried hard, but was incredibly slow and uncoordinated, although there were plenty of them. The drinks prices are very high and my 0.7l water bottle was self-sparkled crane water! I find it outrageous to charge 6.90 euros for this. The dishes are smart, but overall the P/L ratio is not right. For us it will remain a one-time visit.

Today we were at the Menuekarussel in Freischütz. A great evening with an excellent menu. Everything was very well coordinated with accompanying wines at a top price. The service was very courteous and attentive. A wonderful evening with many highlights, thank you very much dear Freischütz team, we will definitely be back.

Went there for curling on synthetic tracks. There were little things to eat and of course to drink. However, cocoa mixed with milk powder is not recommended. Otherwise it was fun. Maybe see you next time.

We were (4 people) on Sunday at the Freischütz and wanted to taste the legendary homemade Kaiserschmarren that was advertised. To put it briefly. Very friendly, attentive service, thanks to the nice lady at the service. Drinks are also good and there quickly. The Kaiserschmarren Unfortunately it was very dry, which significantly reduced the enjoyment. Dryness is probably due to production. The Schmarren is pre-produced in large quantities, cut up and then it stands there in front of you, drying. No, no. At least the cutting and caramelizing should only be done shortly before serving. We were disappointed with the quality and couldn't eat any more rubbish from you. Sorry M. Raudszus . the

Sehr schöne Lokation. Wir waren zu 6 zum Mittagsstisch dort. Kleinere Portionen zu erschwinglichen Preisen. Modern eingerichtet mit Blick hinten heraus, hier muss im Sommer mega was los sein.

Restaurant Freischütz in Schwerte An und für sich ein Restaurant das sich sehen lässt. Passendes Ambiente, sauber, nette Bedienung, keine langen Wartezeiten. Mich stört nur, egal wo man sitzt, es zieht immer aus irgendwelchen Ecken!? Ich war nun 2x dort Essen an verschiedenen Plätzen und ich kriege immer Nacken.... Die Menükarte ist lang und abwechslungsreich (Standard Menüs für Kinder und ein bisl was für Vegetaria). Die Menüs sehen schön dekoriert aus....also das Auge isst mit.
