If you rush from one lecture to the next, you always have the opportunity to buy something to eat or drink here. There is a large selection of delicious sandwiches and also sausages. The staff there are very friendly. If for some reason you didn't get breakfast, you can get it here. Currently only Thoska is accepted as a method of payment. I think it's a shame that sometimes it's closed and you don't really notice. But it could also be that I'm missing something. Surely there is a plan somewhere.

We went to the workshop in Ilmenau and wanted to eat in a traditional way. Good review. It's a good menu for everyone, good home cooking. Nice and warm treatment from the host and visitors. The dishes are delicious and prepared with heart ❤️. Hopefully I can go to Ilmenau again, of course spiced meat is only a small pan, but very tasty and just right...

Aus Ilmenau, von einer Veranstaltung kommen und in Richtung Rudolstadt fahrend, wollten wir auf der Weiterfahrt in einer gastronomischen Einrichtung zum Abendessen einkehren. Dabei fiel uns in Gehren das Restaurant Kreta ins Auge! Spontan und kurzfristig ohne Vorreservierung besuchten wir 4 Personen diese Lokalität. Sehr beeindruckt waren wir von dem modernen Ambiente, der Gastfreundschaft des "Chefs" und des gesamten Team's sowie der Vielfalt und Qualität des Speise-Angebots. Wir können diese Einrichtung nur weiterempfehlen und werden nach dem erstmaligen Besuch auch gerne wiederkommen. -DANKE-

We weren't there often, but we enjoyed being with you. One of the last inns in the region where you could get authentic Thuringian cuisine in an authentic ambience. It's a shame that the death of inns is progressing in favor of "national" property managers and that the identity of the Rennsteig is once again falling victim to greed for profit.
