If you rush from one lecture to the next, you always have the opportunity to buy something to eat or drink here. There is a large selection of delicious sandwiches and also sausages. The staff there are very friendly. If for some reason you didn't get breakfast, you can get it here.
Currently only Thoska is accepted as a method of payment.
I think it's a shame that sometimes it's closed and you don't really notice. But it could also be that I'm missing something. Surely there is a plan somewhere.
A very inconspicuous mountain hut, but a wonderful team in the catering, especially the kitchen, deserves a star ⭐ from our side. We'll definitely be back. Kind regards from Saxon Switzerland.
The Glöckchen team does a wonderful job and is very friendly. We really enjoy coming here. The food tastes excellent, regardless of whether it is tried and tested or new dishes on the changing menu. In summer also in the inner courtyard. Stay as good as you are 🙋🏻♂️
Absolute disappointment...
The service was a disaster. Orders were not taken properly and late arrivals were not served at all. The service was completely stressed and annoyed, despite the fact that the restaurant was not particularly busy on a Sunday.
The food also left a lot to be desired... over-salted salad, cold gyros, raw liver... bottom line, everything was poor. Too bad!
Our food was served after 2 minutes: everything drowned in sauce. When I asked if it came from the microwave, the lady reacted very grumpily; supposedly everything comes fresh from the stove.
The question then is: How many days has it been on it?
We cannot recommend the restaurant.
Update February 2025:
The food was very tasty, as was the service. The ambience was also good.
Unfortunately just average food at (very) high prices. I used to enjoy going here. The price/performance ratio is no longer suitable. With all understanding that prices must rise during these times, but what is too much is too much.
In addition, the annex is so acoustically unfavorable that it's hard to have a conversation because it's so loud at peak times.
It's a shame, the location is nice, but there are better alternatives for eating out!
We weren't there often, but we enjoyed being with you. One of the last inns in the region where you could get authentic Thuringian cuisine in an authentic ambience. It's a shame that the death of inns is progressing in favor of "national" property managers and that the identity of the Rennsteig is once again falling victim to greed for profit.
