If you rush from one lecture to the next, you always have the opportunity to buy something to eat or drink here. There is a large selection of delicious sandwiches and also sausages. The staff there are very friendly. If for some reason you didn't get breakfast, you can get it here. Currently only Thoska is accepted as a method of payment. I think it's a shame that sometimes it's closed and you don't really notice. But it could also be that I'm missing something. Surely there is a plan somewhere.

Gasthaus Fichtel is a charming little spot with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. The menu is written on a blackboard and seems to change frequently. The dish we ordered was absolutely delicious—we enjoyed every bite! We also had a pleasant chat with the owner, who was very welcoming. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash payments, and the nearest ATM is a bit of a walk (past the train station). Still, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in Ilmenau!

Schleusinger Allee 13, Ilmenau, Thuringia, Germany Whenever I'm nearby and can manage it, I eat there. The food is always delicious, reasonably priced, and the people are friendly—what more could you want?
