We booked this hotel for a short trip. It's very centrally located, and the Old Town, Wartburg Castle, and hiking trails are all within easy reach. The rooms are very large and spacious, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. We didn't lack for anything at breakfast either. If I had one complaint, it would be that you have to pay an extra ten euros per day for parking. Something like that could be included in the price.
The food was ok for a rotisserie shop. The Rigatoni Bolognese didn't really have minced meat. (see picture) but the kebab box with fries was good👍
Prices are fair here.
Ordered lamb biryani takeaway but was horrified to see end result served up, which resembled runny paella. I asked if he could boil the water off but he refused, then another staff joined in and became shouty and sweary. They claimed that was what biryani looked like even after I showed them scores of photos on google of what I had a right to expect. I asked for my money back and they threatened to call the police. This was getting ridiculous so I left the dish behind and let them keep their €14.
Very nice experience restaurant; we took part in the medieval meal, very tasteful presentation, great service & very nice and imaginative staff; another visit is planned.
We visited the restaurant on May 17, 2025.
The atmosphere is cozy.
The food, however, is mediocre at best.
Cash only. The first receipt is probably fake. Catering receipts are manually updated upon request.
Doesn't have to support the manager.
We were here with a large group. Reservations and booked dinners—everything worked out well. Our room on the 4th floor was small and not quite modern. The shower in the small bathroom, however, was a disaster. The shower head is old, the cold water control was very difficult, and after showering, the bathroom was completely flooded. The shower stall leaks. The room is very clean, though. Thanks to the friendly cleaning staff. Breakfast is okay. A Bircher muesli and fresh yogurt would have been a welcome addition. Egg dishes are freshly prepared. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy dinner; the "deer" must have been a bit old. The service staff is very friendly. However, the hotel restaurant closes at 10 p.m.
“A culinary phoenix from the ashes of arbitrariness”
There are places where you eat to survive. And then there are those rare refuges where one eats to live. This inconspicuous establishment, outwardly disguised as a mere snack bar among many, actually hides a gastronomic gem - the work of an artist whose medium is pizza dough and whose muse is taste.
After an odyssey of changing ownership that would have left many resigned, a worthy host has finally been found - one who not only bakes pizza, but passion, dedication and a deep understanding of what we are really looking for when we sit down at a set table: soul.
The menu – admittedly, at first it seems like the menu of a banal fast food restaurant. But woe to anyone who lets themselves be deceived by the first impression. Because as soon as the plates are served, the veil of skepticism evaporates like dust in the sunlight - and you realize what is really happening here: a revelation.
I personally witnessed this miracle in the form of a Calabrese pizza - a masterpiece. Spicy without dominating. Fiery, yet controlled. Fresh, juicy – a harmonious crescendo on the palate. And then – the surprise: gluten-free. But anyone who thinks of dry, bland sheets of dough is wrong. No – this was not a replacement, not a compromise. It was a triumph. Light, digestible, almost weightless - a culinary dance that doesn't weigh you down, but rather uplifts you.
The host: cook, waiter, spiritual guide. With a warmth and sincerity that cannot be taught. A man on a mission – and what a start he has made!
At the end of my meal I sat quietly. The plate is empty, the stomach is full, the heart is moving. A single tear – not of sadness, but of gratitude. Because I had tasted what is possible when someone doesn't just make pizza, but bakes with love.
I will return. Not just to eat. But to feel.
I stayed at this hotel for a conference and enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The food was consistently very good and fresh, and the breakfast selection was extensive. The service was always friendly and attentive. Overall, a very pleasant experience - therefore deserves 4 stars!
I think it's great to find a restaurant on Sunday lunchtime without a reservation! There is classic German home cooking and, of course, a dish of dumplings on Sundays.
We came to the store normally, just wanted to eat something.
The employee, who looked like a plucked turkey, was pissed from the start. We're very sorry that we don't know the menu by heart, dear Ms. Blaue-haare-rote-haare, but that's no reason to snap at us.
She was also significantly deaf, couldn't hear anything and was angry with us because she couldn't understand a word (we are actually educated enough to be able to communicate understandably).
Altogether rancid, the subs weren't worth it either...lick our eggs (tasty)
Have a nice day
