Great ambience and very good food at good prices. Quite full even during the week, which speaks for the restaurant. The service was friendly and food and drinks were brought quickly. You can stop here often.

So 5 stars are probably not enough for this inn. Attentive and totally friendly service from every employee. The food is excellent and also cheap. The beer also tastes a lot better in this atmosphere. Rustic and cozy with a lovingly designed menu. I will immediately use the voucher of 2 euros for my next visit. Everyone should eat there and treat themselves to a beer or two. Top

We were in Eisenach for three days in August, a very beautiful city, we would love to come back. We looked around to go out to eat, came to the potato house, were initially very impressed by the ambience, went in spontaneously, didn't have a reservation, but got a seat straight away and were happy. We were given a place in a corner where we could stare at a wall, I sat down so that I could see something else, we ordered, I thought I would order the pan-fried dish for 30Eu. I had a steak and grilled it Baked potatoes. My husband ordered a black beer goulash. We were looking forward to the food, the goulash came first, we saw the disappointed faces at the next table, we then knew why, we had to look for the goulash, the meat was as small as my little fingertip, there was no sign of black beer . Then my food came...a minni pan, a mountain of beans on it, a steak that was so small, and a chicken steak that was ok. nothing more. SHE quickly put it in front of me and she woke up. I was speechless, my husband said what is that, I asked another waiter where the rest was, he said sorry, we forgot, after a short time the rest came, a boiled potato cut in the middle and quark on it. Nothing with baked potatoes and homemade quark. The visit was a disaster for us and we will never go there again. The chef should be ashamed of himself.

Very popular in Eisenach, please make a reservation! The restaurant has been lovingly furnished in a rustic, cozy manner. The food is Thuringian cuisine and the Graft beer tastes excellent. Despite the often busy location, the service is fast and relaxed at the same time. I spent a great evening with good food here and am happy to give it five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The atmosphere is really nice. We were here during the week and it was packed. So it's best to pre-order. The menu is informative, everything about potatoes and very creative ideas when naming the dishes. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly.

The food tasted good, but the portions were too small for the price. You will find a great and nostalgic atmosphere here. The service staff seemed very unmotivated and sometimes uncoordinated. We were asked twice if we could have anything else, even though we had already ordered. In addition, the cutlery was of poor quality, some of it was broken and completely unsuitable for our food.

And the guys behind the counter prefer to play with their cell phones... so the guest has to wait to request a drink... if we hadn't made our presence known as we were leaving, we could have walked out without paying...

I arrived at the Kartoffelhaus after a long flight to Frankfurt and a two hour drive. I had done some research before going and expected a classic Thuringen meal. I was not disappointed. I asked the host if he spoke English and was told no. I speak just enough German to be able to order food. My meal was outstanding. The cabbage and dumplings were particularly good. Will visit again if I can.

Best meal in a long time. Despite high expectations (rated as the best restaurant in Eisenach) I was still surprised. It's always well attended. Reserve early or come late in the evening...

The Fassbrause, on the other hand, tasted really delicious😊you should make a reservation. For those who decide at short notice, like my friend and I, there are seats on the terrace. Get parking right in front of the door👍

Experience gastronomy in a different way! The facility is actually as crazy as the name suggests! But very pleasant! So we really liked it, the food was very tasty, freshly cooked and the service left nothing to be desired! All in all, a thoroughly successful evening! Many thanks to the potato house team!

When I went to a restaurant in the USA for the first time, I was amazed by the atmosphere and I felt the same way when I entered the potato house for the first time. All I can say is keep it up and the rest is what the stars say. Highly recommended.

Even though the cabin was full, we still got a nice spot and it was really worth it. There was a Thuringian platter with everything your heart could desire. Afterwards we were completely full and really excited about the ambience and the quality of the fresh food.

A very nice nostalgic location with delicious dishes and specialties from the region. I had ordered a "Thuringian plate" - consisting of a Thuringian Rostbrätel, Thuringian Rostbratwurst, fried potatoes and sauerkraut. Very, very tasty. The staff is friendly and attentive. We would love to come back - it is highly recommended.

A beautiful and rustic place in the middle of Eisenach's old town. The food is delicious, the beer is excellent and the atmosphere invites you to linger.

The food was very tasty, but took a very long time (about 1.5 hours). A little hint about the waiting time and everything would have been fine.

We found this restaurant through my "Find me GF" app and had dinner there. The store is really nicely decorated with lots of things to look at. My friend's meal was very good (steak bucket). I had the potato burger (instead of buns it was potato pancakes). Personally, they were too greasy for me. Waiting time for the food was about 15-20 minutes, but that's absolutely fine. Waiters very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, some of the allergen lists are incorrect (beer mustard marinade is not listed as containing gluten). We paid around €80 for 4 drinks (1x alcoholic and 3x non-alcoholic), 1 burger with fries, salad and steak bucket. All in one good food, good selection. Only the names for the allergens should perhaps be revised.

Are on recommendation. We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a nice seat. We were served very nicely and the food was also very tasty. You'll be happy to come back there.

The ambience and service were great, there was nothing to complain about. The drinks were also good, the food didn't taste as tasty as expected, the dumplings were too soft for us, the baked potato was more like baked potatoes, several small ones, unfortunately we didn't like that type either. Overall acceptable, but not really tasty for us, we probably expected more. But the atmosphere is unique

First things first: home-style cooking is incredibly delicious! Everyone was thrilled! The service: We had to wait 15 minutes for a drink. The food didn't come together. Something went wrong with the payment. No thanks for tips. Overall, it spoiled the evening a bit. Ambience: Nice, but just way too warm inside in summer. Will try it again next time we visit Eisenach, as the food was great!

The atmosphere is great, someone has collected a lot of nostalgic items and lovingly staged them. The food was super tasty. You also get a €2 voucher for your next visit. I can only recommend it to anyone visiting Eisenach. But if you want to go there in the evening, make a reservation well in advance. Have fun

Rustic atmosphere invites you to stay. Delicious food. Down to earth but fine. Delicious beer and great service. There's a lot to look at while you're sitting there, lots of exhibits and all sorts of things from the GDR era invite you to explore.

Went to the potato house yesterday.....The restaurant is unique, I've never seen anything like it....were thrilled.....the food is absolutely delicious, the service is very friendly. The restaurant with all the trimmings deserves a lot more stars, 5 is not enough, we will be back soon

Where is the sixth star?? So highly recommended. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is really something different and the rest is something you should see for yourself. So we would give at least 6 stars.

One dish of the house describes it quite well: a "Karre M..." I don't even know where to start and where to stop. Flea market atmosphere and full of junk. The food poorly prepared the sauce with Mondamin. What are all these onion rings doing on the plates and these sprouts...? The drinks menu was the only thing where I could laugh, such stupid comments with every drink. I'm sorry about the service. I didn't want to say that it tasted good. I know Mutzbraten but it was just a thick neck steak that was already dry again. I honestly don't know why the store still exists. This would be a case for Frank Rosin. Far too expensive for the prices and the quality of the food. I can't understand the reviews with 5 stars... Either bought or the people in the East suffer from a loss of taste.

So you can't change your pre-order because the chef is supposed to be cooking when you come in. And you still get your food last out of 40. Price and size don't really match, meaning almost no one is full. Mashed potatoes weren't anything like potato salad with no taste and lots of pieces
