This restaurant can be recommended 100%. Our family felt very comfortable there and everything tasted very good. Personally, I chose roulade with dumplings, simply a dream like Muddern! And all at fair prices

I was rather disappointed. It smelled like food. It was loud and not as comfortable as I imagined. The sausage and the dumplings,1 A. But for me, one time is enough.

Went for lunch today with 4 adults and 1 small child. Very friendly staff, food was delicious. The children's plate was very attractively presented. Compliments to the kitchen. Very child friendly. To bridge the waiting time, there is a small play area for the little ones, which is positioned so that other guests are not disturbed. Brilliant! My favorite restaurant, for years😊👌👏👏👏 Wish the entire workforce a happy new year and a healthy and good year 2025❣️ Keep it up and please stay that way.

I didn't find the food there that great, and the service also takes some getting used to. We ordered Cola and got Fanta, then we ordered our food. The lettuce on the burger was wilted and relatively small for 18 euros. The fish with a small jacket potato wasn't much for the same price, and the "cart full of crap" was tasty, but it was only half full and instead of 3 medallions there were only 2, the salad consisted of a lettuce leaf from a tomato, 2 slices Cucumber and 2 slices of radishes. The “cart full of crap” was only half full and filled with aluminum foil at the bottom and that too for 18 euros. Then for dessert there was a potato pancake with applesauce, under the potato pancake there was hair from the cook or the waitress.

Highly recommended. A cozy restaurant with a lot of atmosphere and very friendly service staff. The food is super good. We will definitely come here again.

A wonderful evening with the entire family with friendly service, very pleasant waiting times and portions that were well priced. We can only recommend it, regardless of whether you are visiting Eisenach or living here. The potato house is a must!!

Very original and unique restaurant. The atmosphere is great and humorous. We came spontaneously and were able to get a table. The service was very friendly and our orders came quickly. The food was excellent in terms of quality and also in terms of presentation on the plate. Price-performance is also unbeatable. We would definitely come back again and can clearly recommend the restaurant!

Great food in a very nice building. We were there for lunch on 12/7/24. From the special menu we chose the goose breast pictured and the potato burger. Both technically and qualitatively very well done. The presentation of the drinks menu is really good 😅😂 Top. Creative gastronomy like you rarely see 👍 The house beer is also recommended. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert...🤤😉 The staff at the table was always friendly and answered questions very competently. The prices are justified for the food and not overpriced, which unfortunately tends to be the case these days. Thank you for the pleasant time and the food 🙏

Were visiting Thuringia. We were warmly welcomed with our 3 dogs. Food was good. Service friendly and accommodating.

I went there twice because the first time it was really tasty. The meat portion was very clear, but that didn't bother me. It was delicious. The second time I ordered a potato pizza with ox shreds. In my opinion it didn't have much to do with a pizza. She wasn't cross. It was more of a potato pancake with meat which was delicious. But with too much hollandaise sauce.

It was a 10 out of 10 experience. Point. The ambience of the restaurant is, to say the least, phenomenal. Great interior with great decorative items that create a unique atmosphere. The food is tip top. The service was friendly and quick.

We were in Eisenach for three days in August, a very beautiful city, we would love to come back. We looked around to go out to eat, came to the potato house, were initially very impressed by the ambience, went in spontaneously, didn't have a reservation, but got a seat straight away and were happy. We were given a place in a corner where we could stare at a wall, I sat down so that I could see something else, we ordered, I thought I would order the pan-fried dish for 30Eu. I had a steak and grilled it Baked potatoes. My husband ordered a black beer goulash. We were looking forward to the food, the goulash came first, we saw the disappointed faces at the next table, we then knew why, we had to look for the goulash, the meat was as small as my little fingertip, there was no sign of black beer . Then my food came...a minni pan, a mountain of beans on it, a steak that was so small, and a chicken steak that was ok. nothing more. SHE quickly put it in front of me and she woke up. I was speechless, my husband said what is that, I asked another waiter where the rest was, he said sorry, we forgot, after a short time the rest came, a boiled potato cut in the middle and quark on it. Nothing with baked potatoes and homemade quark. The visit was a disaster for us and we will never go there again. The chef should be ashamed of himself.

It was very nice. The food was delicious. The service was courteous. You can also get along well with a wheelchair. Only the toilets can be reached via stairs.

The food tasted good, but the portions were too small for the price. You will find a great and nostalgic atmosphere here. The service staff seemed very unmotivated and sometimes uncoordinated. We were asked twice if we could have anything else, even though we had already ordered. In addition, the cutlery was of poor quality, some of it was broken and completely unsuitable for our food.

I arrived at the Kartoffelhaus after a long flight to Frankfurt and a two hour drive. I had done some research before going and expected a classic Thuringen meal. I was not disappointed. I asked the host if he spoke English and was told no. I speak just enough German to be able to order food. My meal was outstanding. The cabbage and dumplings were particularly good. Will visit again if I can.

Very nice restaurant. Good food, well prepared. But waited over an hour for it. And the guys behind the counter prefer to play with their cell phones... so the guest has to wait to request a drink... if we hadn't made our presence known as we were leaving, we could have walked out without paying...

Experience gastronomy in a different way! The facility is actually as crazy as the name suggests! But very pleasant! Even though the cabin was full, we still got a nice spot and it was really worth it. There was a Thuringian platter with everything your heart could desire. Afterwards we were completely full and really excited about the ambience and the quality of the fresh food.

A very nice nostalgic location with delicious dishes and specialties from the region. I had ordered a "Thuringian plate" - consisting of a Thuringian Rostbrätel, Thuringian Rostbratwurst, fried potatoes and sauerkraut. Very, very tasty. The staff is friendly and attentive. We would love to come back - it is highly recommended.
