Hammer Essen und geiles Ambiente. Selbst unsere verwöhnte Tochter war vollkommen begeistert. Nach dem sehr guten Essen hat es ihr dieses grüne Getränk angetan. Das Personal war aufmerksam und hat wünsche direkt umgesetzt.

We went on a day trip to Eisenach on Thursday and at the end we ate at the potato house. Absolutely top and highly recommended. Great ambience, very nice staff and delicious food👍 Grade 1+

We found this restaurant through my "Find me GF" app and had dinner there. The store is really nicely decorated with lots of things to look at. My friend's meal was very good (steak bucket). I had the potato burger (instead of buns it was potato pancakes). Personally, they were too greasy for me. Waiting time for the food was about 15-20 minutes, but that's absolutely fine. Waiters very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, some of the allergen lists are incorrect (beer mustard marinade is not listed as containing gluten). We paid around €80 for 4 drinks (1x alcoholic and 3x non-alcoholic), 1 burger with fries, salad and steak bucket. All in one good food, good selection. Only the names for the allergens should perhaps be revised.

Are on recommendation. We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a nice seat. We were served very nicely and the food was also very tasty. You'll be happy to come back there.

The ambience and service were great, there was nothing to complain about. The drinks were also good, the food didn't taste as tasty as expected, the dumplings were too soft for us, the baked potato was more like baked potatoes, several small ones, unfortunately we didn't like that type either. Overall acceptable, but not really tasty for us, we probably expected more. But the atmosphere is unique

Das Essen war gut und reichlich. Wir hatten "Vielfraß" und "Teufelswerk". Über den Begriff Bratkartoffeln lässt sich allerdings streiten. Der Service war ebenfalls gut.

A full place and not reserved. Yet we were helped to find a place. Then ordered a Thuringian platter for 2 people and had a very delicious meal. So delicious food and excellent service.

The food is creative - I had potato pizza with sauerkraut and bratwurst - but the quality is just ok. The ice cream was special though! The decoration and the entire presentation, including the menu, are unique and beautiful.

First things first: home-style cooking is incredibly delicious! Everyone was thrilled! The service: We had to wait 15 minutes for a drink. The food didn't come together. Something went wrong with the payment. No thanks for tips. Overall, it spoiled the evening a bit. Ambience: Nice, but just way too warm inside in summer. Will try it again next time we visit Eisenach, as the food was great!

Rustic atmosphere invites you to stay. Delicious food. Down to earth but fine. Delicious beer and great service. There's a lot to look at while you're sitting there, lots of exhibits and all sorts of things from the GDR era invite you to explore.

The atmosphere is great, someone has collected a lot of nostalgic items and lovingly staged them. The food was super tasty. You also get a €2 voucher for your next visit. I can only recommend it to anyone visiting Eisenach. But if you want to go there in the evening, make a reservation well in advance. Have fun

Went to the potato house yesterday.....The restaurant is unique, I've never seen anything like it....were thrilled.....the food is absolutely delicious, the service is very friendly. The restaurant with all the trimmings deserves a lot more stars, 5 is not enough, we will be back soon

Where is the sixth star?? So highly recommended. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is really something different and the rest is something you should see for yourself. So we would give at least 6 stars.

We had great food from the Thuringian region, the mutzbraten and the scavenger hunt was very tasty and we will definitely come back… top staff.

So you can't change your pre-order because the chef is supposed to be cooking when you come in. And you still get your food last out of 40. Price and size don't really match, meaning almost no one is full. Mashed potatoes weren't anything like potato salad with no taste and lots of pieces

One dish of the house describes it quite well: a "Karre M..." I don't even know where to start and where to stop. Flea market atmosphere and full of junk. The food poorly prepared the sauce with Mondamin. What are all these onion rings doing on the plates and these sprouts...? The drinks menu was the only thing where I could laugh, such stupid comments with every drink. I'm sorry about the service. I didn't want to say that it tasted good. I know Mutzbraten but it was just a thick neck steak that was already dry again. I honestly don't know why the store still exists. This would be a case for Frank Rosin. Far too expensive for the prices and the quality of the food. I can't understand the reviews with 5 stars... Either bought or the people in the East suffer from a loss of taste.

We had lunch here on a Friday without making an appointment. The Karftoffelhaus was well attended. We still got a place for 2 people. The food was absolutely delicious. We recommend. The atmosphere is rustic and with great attention to detail.

I had ordered Mutzbraten, which unfortunately was only served as two slices of different meat. However, the ambience was very nice. Great service despite being busy that day.

Eating here is a must. A small play area for the kids, lots of decoration from old times but still clean and well maintained. The food was very tasty and a great selection.

Good selection for vegans, thank you ;) Potato pizza tastes very good, although I personally missed the sauce with "Pizza Kunterbunt" (steamed cauliflower with marinated cucumbers chopped up to sauce consistency and herbs, for example) The selection of gratinated potatoes was quite small, in general we expected more variety of potato dishes and not steaks from the potato house. But in the end everything was fine ;) Thank you

Super Lokal, immer wieder gerne, nettes Personal und außergewöhnliches Essen aus alles was die Kartoffel her gibt. Hab gutes Essen dort, es wird euch schmecken und die Bierauswahl ist auch interessant, mal was anderes :-)

An incredibly quaint and lovingly furnished restaurant where eating becomes an experience... no matter where you look, you'll discover a new detail everywhere. First of all: To be on the safe side, reserve a table!!! The ambience is a hodgepodge of numerous curiosities. That's something. The food is beyond reproach and the prices are reasonable. Despite the high number of guests, we were served reasonably quickly. Unfortunately, the toilets are on the upper floor and are therefore not wheelchair accessible. A changing table is also missing. If you want to eat something rustic and hearty (although I was able to "assemble" my vegetarian dish easily), this is the place for you! CORRECTION/ADDITION AFTER THE OWNER'S ANSWER: There is a changing table in the women's toilet. I just wanted to give a note for guests with restricted mobility. So don't be angry about this, dear owner 😃

Was there for the first time to eat with a lot of anticipation! Unfortunately I was a little disappointed 😞. So I had pork medallions and was unfortunately disappointed, the medallions were well cooked and unfortunately no longer pink. As a result, the meat was very dry. The fried potatoes were ok, and the peppers had a pleasant spiciness. The glass of wheat beer for 4.90 euros is absolutely at the limit. So, maybe you had a bad day in the kitchen, you'll get another chance next time.

We have been passing through Thuringia on and off for many years. Dinner is always planned at the KARTOFFELHAUS in Eisenach. The food is very good and we would definitely recommend it. Very tasty, also very nicely prepared.

Unfortunately we can't say anything about the food as we left before we could order. 5 people behind the bar, none of whom respond when you politely ask if there is still a free table outside. You could only guess from the beer tapper's slight head shake that this was probably not the case. Then you were sort of reluctantly placed inside. Unfortunately, you don't feel like it anymore when you feel like you're a burden. It's a shame, we were looking forward to the food 🫠

It is a rustic restaurant that you should visit with children and the whole family. A somewhat unusual restaurant, even for tourists. But you should definitely make a reservation, otherwise it will be difficult to get a seat. Have fun.

There wasn't enough food and we were barely full. Waited an hour for the food and we only saw the waiter twice. But the atmosphere was rustic. Definitely not worth the 5 stars as Google suggests.

Brilliant... This is what analog navigation looks like. (see photo) 😂 We were here in 2016 and spontaneously didn't get a table because we were on vacation and there was no capacity. And now we know why. Today, again... spontaneously and thanks to a canceled reservation, we got a table. The food was excellent, the ideas for describing the drinks made us smile and the ambience invited us to travel back to our past and childhood. The extremely friendly service staff were quick and very attentive. The souvenirs that can be purchased are sometimes funny. Unfortunately we don't have the opportunity to redeem the vouchers, but it's not necessary because we'll try again spontaneously on our next visit. 💕 My insider tip: The snow flurry!

Very good menu where there is definitely something for everyone. There are also some vegan dishes on the menu. The decor/interior of the restaurant is unique, you should see it in Eisenach. The service is friendly and quick. You feel good. In warmer temperatures you can also sit on the beautiful terrace. But reservations are recommended...

It's beautiful there. You can enjoy peace and quiet there, and the food was easy to enjoy. And above all, the people there are really nice. I recommend it for people who find potato dishes very great and tasty. I wish you a good appetite

I've known the restaurant for decades, and after occasional problems it's highly recommended again! A reservation is recommended and a potato schnapps at the end of the visit :-)

Open until 11 p.m....but the kitchen closes at 9:45 p.m....at least offers a small menu.

Inn kept nostalgic 👍🏻. If you run too much, everything takes a long time. You definitely can't eat fire meat like you used to. That's why only two stars.

Rustikales Ambiente mit vielen schönen Details. Freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Schöne und abwechslungsreiche Spielecke. Das Essen ist bodenständig guten Ideen. Das vegetarische Angebot hat uns bisher nicht überzeugt.

Leider keine Empfehlung. Zwar ist das Restaurant sehr urig, aber das war es dann auch. das Radler war eher eine Limonade und sehr dünn. Darüber hätten wir noch hinweg gesehen, aber ein absolutes No Go ist, dass wir 90 (!!!) Minuten auf das Essen gewartet haben und erst nachfragen mussten, wann es denn kommt. Hier haben wir bei Problemen in der Küche die Erwartungshaltung, dass die Serviemitarbeiter vorher und ungefragt darüber informieren, wie lange es dauern könnte. Das Essen an sich war nicht schlecht, aber kein kulinarisches Highlight. Wir hatten eine Thüringer Platte für zwei Personen zum Preis von 56 Euro. Da haben wir geschmacklich mehr erwartet.git fanden wir jedoch, dass wir unsere Getränke wegen der langen Wartezeit nicht bezahlen mussten.

Actually, shortly before the break, at 2:30 p.m., we were able to go in and eat. It was tasty, the restaurant's facilities are very good.

Unique restaurant! There is a lot to discover and the place seems very quaint and cozy. The food is traditional and modern at the same time and the sign that there were also vegan dishes, which was initially laughed at, surprised us in the end because there are a few really high-quality and successful vegan dishes on the menu. Traditional home cooking that moves with the times, there really is something for everyone. To top it all off, little guests are also catered for and you can eat in peace while the short ones can keep themselves busy in a well-equipped games corner. We were more than positively surprised to be able to eat so well in Eisenach and would love to come back

Quite inconspicuous from the outside, a really great restaurant from the inside. Take a look, have a good time and be amazed.
