The ambience is simply a 12/10, at first I thought I was somewhere in Ireland in a fairytale forest 🥹 the food and service were also great, the menu was very attractively designed. Price performance 👌🏼. It was also nice that there was a children's corner to pass the time. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again

Unfortunately you can only give one star as the worst rating. I was really looking forward to the potato house because I thought I would be able to enjoy good German cuisine. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. In addition to late reorders (ketchup for fries, when the fries were almost eaten), the home-style food couldn't stand out. The schnitzel that was ordered tasted like a ready meal. At first glance, an ordered burger could obviously offer a lot, unfortunately that was the only thing it could shine with. Two people each ordered a burger and both ended up with severe stomach pains that lasted for several hours. Some of the individual ingredients were dried out and no longer attractive. In summary, it was a disaster that demanded a price that, in my opinion, was far below the price-performance ratio. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Vegetarian Thuringian dumplings with vegetables and cream sauce. The dumplings 1a tasted great. The vegetables in cream sauce were carrots, zucchini, parsnips etc in béchamel sauce We should have asked; the vegetables in béchamel were not to our taste. The third guest had the schnitzel with hollandaise and Gouda gratin and fries. He was blissful. Nevertheless, thanks to the team, good service, nice atmosphere and great music 😄

Totally rustic restaurant as you know it from before. We were here on a Thursday lunchtime, the service was very nice and quick. The “Kartoffelrundschau” (menu) was created with a lot of love and humor and reads very well! Really delicious regional products that are completely reasonable in price. All in all, worth a visit! :)

Very original and cozy, but also very busy shop. The food is very tasty and special requests are also taken into account. The house beer was also very tasty. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were different than I had imagined (mini potatoes halved including peel and only subtly seasoned, no bacon/onions). I wouldn't choose this as a side dish again.

It was really a great experience. The restaurant has a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The menu is varied and there is something to suit every taste. The dish with potatoes was particularly tasty. A great place to enjoy (Thuringian) specialties in a very special atmosphere! We were there in a larger group and of course had pre-ordered. Our reservation secured us a large table in the separate room. That was really great. The service was so well organized that all dishes were served at the same time. And every single dish was worth seeing and tasting. I decided to make a plate for two people. These treats were just manageable thanks to my blackhead... I can highly recommend the potato house in Eisenach!

Very nice restaurant, rustically furnished. Food tastes delicious, large portions. We were there spontaneously. But you should pre-order, especially now in winter. A visit to the Wartburg is also worth it. Many thanks to the nice staff at the potato house.

It's always nice to eat here. I recommend making a reservation in advance as it is always a busy restaurant. We were lucky yesterday and got a table without a reservation. When eating I deducted a point for the remoulade on the brawn, which was not homemade. It's not bad, but it's a shame. We will definitely come back, it is a place where you can feel comfortable and the staff is always friendly and accommodating.

I'm thrilled. I was there for lunch with my child. Great play area. Schnitzel gratinated with cauliflower. Great !!!! Gladly again. Nice service, a kind word to the child even in stressful situations. We'd love to come back.

Went for lunch today with 4 adults and 1 small child. Very friendly staff, food was delicious. The children's plate was very attractively presented. Compliments to the kitchen. Very child friendly. To bridge the waiting time, there is a small play area for the little ones, which is positioned so that other guests are not disturbed. Brilliant! I didn't find the food there that great, and the service also takes some getting used to. We ordered Cola and got Fanta, then we ordered our food. The lettuce on the burger was wilted and relatively small for 18 euros. The fish with a small jacket potato wasn't much for the same price, and the "cart full of crap" was tasty, but it was only half full and instead of 3 medallions there were only 2, the salad consisted of a lettuce leaf from a tomato, 2 slices Cucumber and 2 slices of radishes. The “cart full of crap” was only half full and filled with aluminum foil at the bottom and that too for 18 euros. Then for dessert there was a potato pancake with applesauce, under the potato pancake there was hair from the cook or the waitress.

A wonderful evening with the entire family with friendly service, very pleasant waiting times and portions that were well priced. We can only recommend it, regardless of whether you are visiting Eisenach or living here. The potato house is a must!!

Great food in a very nice building. We were there for lunch on 12/7/24. From the special menu we chose the goose breast pictured and the potato burger. Both technically and qualitatively very well done. The presentation of the drinks menu is really good 😅😂 Top. Creative gastronomy like you rarely see 👍 The house beer is also recommended. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert...🤤😉 The staff at the table was always friendly and answered questions very competently. The prices are justified for the food and not overpriced, which unfortunately tends to be the case these days. Thank you for the pleasant time and the food 🙏

Were visiting Thuringia. We were warmly welcomed with our 3 dogs. Food was good. Service friendly and accommodating.

I went there twice because the first time it was really tasty. The meat portion was very clear, but that didn't bother me. It was delicious. The second time I ordered a potato pizza with ox shreds. In my opinion it didn't have much to do with a pizza. She wasn't cross. It was more of a potato pancake with meat which was delicious. But with too much hollandaise sauce.

It was a 10 out of 10 experience. Point. The ambience of the restaurant is, to say the least, phenomenal. Great interior with great decorative items that create a unique atmosphere. The food is tip top. The service was friendly and quick.

We were in Eisenach for three days in August, a very beautiful city, we would love to come back. We looked around to go out to eat, came to the potato house, were initially very impressed by the ambience, went in spontaneously, didn't have a reservation, but got a seat straight away and were happy. We were given a place in a corner where we could stare at a wall, I sat down so that I could see something else, we ordered, I thought I would order the pan-fried dish for 30Eu. I had a steak and grilled it Baked potatoes. My husband ordered a black beer goulash. We were looking forward to the food, the goulash came first, we saw the disappointed faces at the next table, we then knew why, we had to look for the goulash, the meat was as small as my little fingertip, there was no sign of black beer . Then my food came...a minni pan, a mountain of beans on it, a steak that was so small, and a chicken steak that was ok. nothing more. SHE quickly put it in front of me and she woke up. I was speechless, my husband said what is that, I asked another waiter where the rest was, he said sorry, we forgot, after a short time the rest came, a boiled potato cut in the middle and quark on it. Nothing with baked potatoes and homemade quark. The visit was a disaster for us and we will never go there again. The chef should be ashamed of himself.

The food tasted good, but the portions were too small for the price. You will find a great and nostalgic atmosphere here. The service staff seemed very unmotivated and sometimes uncoordinated. We were asked twice if we could have anything else, even though we had already ordered. In addition, the cutlery was of poor quality, some of it was broken and completely unsuitable for our food.
