A beautifully decorated restaurant near the city center. The interior is fantastically decorated. Service was super friendly and fast. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. However, it's difficult to get a seat without a reservation. With a bit of luck, you might still get a table if you line up before opening. Otherwise, a long-term reservation is essential.

We stopped here for lunch as part of a trip with Polster&Pohl. The food was delicious and the service was a bit tense, but quite friendly. Overall, I can recommend it for good, typical Thuringian food with a rustic flair. 😊

We were there at lunchtime on the "bridge day" of May 30, 2025. The restaurant was very busy, but the service staff were friendly. The food also came quickly despite the large number of guests, and what can I say? It was simply delicious. 🥰 The ambiance is beautiful, and the food and drinks menu are also lovingly designed. The marketing approach was exactly what we were looking for. Conclusion: highly recommended, and we'll stop by again when we're in Eisenach. I'd actually give it more than 5 stars, but unfortunately that's not possible. You're doing a great job, keep it up!

The small front of the building immediately suggests that there's a small restaurant behind it. It was also interesting to see that at least 20 people were already waiting to get in before it opened at 5 p.m. Inside, a large dining room awaited us, beautifully and interestingly decorated. There are plenty of photos of it. The service was very quick and friendly, and the food was excellent, and at a fair price! Everything was very original; we'll make a reservation there again on our next visit to Eisenach.

Five of us visited the restaurant. Table was reserved in advance. The table assignment was quick and polite. Drinks came to the table about 10 minutes after ordering. Ordering food was quick and we received our food hot and at the same time. The menu is balanced and imaginative. Together with the atmosphere of the restaurant, it is definitely worth one or more visits. We'd love to come back.

Visited spontaneously on Friday without a reservation shortly after 5 p.m. And luckily got a table for 2 people. The service was really friendly and the food was really good...if we find ourselves in the area again, we'd be happy to come back 👍🏻

A bit inconspicuous from the outside but lovingly furnished inside. A beautiful beer garden also beckons when the weather is nice. The wait staff were all friendly and attentive and the food was beyond reproach. The homemade fries are recommended but everything else was also super tasty. Add a nice cellar beer and you'll be completely happy. We'd love to come back!

We liked it so much that we came here twice in our four days. Great decor where you can discover a lot. Friendly staff. Dogs welcome. Large menu with delicious dishes. Definitely recommended.

Super nice atmosphere and great food! Quite traditional but somewhat creative as well. Many vegetarian and vegan options. I had a very good dish from the spring asparagus seasonal menu.

The potato house in Eisenach is truly a culinary highlight! The food was incredibly delicious – I have rarely eaten so well. The design of the restaurant is also absolutely successful: original, loving and simply something different. The menu fits the concept perfectly and offers great, creative dishes based on potatoes. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, there is a small point deduction for the waiting time - we had to wait almost an hour for our food, and a drink was initially brought incorrectly. Nevertheless, if you have the time, you will definitely be rewarded with a special visit to the restaurant. Highly recommended!

The location was nicely decorated. We were a large group and our dining experiences were very different. My colleague had a large potato with quark and fish and the potato was very hard. I had a very tasty meal with my fried potatoes and schnitzel.

Yes very. We just stumbled in because of a local type of beer and ended up in an Ostalgie temple/museum/hodgepodge. Lovingly collected and designed. The ambience alone is worth a visit. And then it started. All the food that was carried past us (for other guests) was already full. Visually imaginative and were an invitation to enjoy and linger. It was a pleasure to read through the menu, the theme of "Thuringian cuisine" promises everything, except that a guest leaves hungry. The portions are large enough, beautifully prepared and absolutely tasty. Despite the full restaurant, the staff had an overview and was attentive, friendly and helpful. And so the whole concept really works. Blessed is whoever has such staff. We had a great evening in this restaurant and will come back next time. Keep it up. It doesn't get any better. Thank you.

Visited Eisenach as a city trip and spontaneously stopped at this restaurant. Wanted to eat something from the region. Roulade with red cabbage was mine Choice. I have no idea whether this is typical for the area. But it tasted!! There was also a great atmosphere. I'll come back there

The Kartoffelhaus showed two sides. The service was very friendly, but the food was a less than pleasant experience. One day, two meals were excellent. One day, one was very good, and the other was okay. Friends, remember, you too occasionally have a chef among your guests.

The Kartoffelhaus certainly makes an impression and exudes a rustic coziness upon entering, just as you'd expect from a Kartoffelhaus. However, it depends on which table you're seated at. You'll definitely have more fun in a private room than on the path (which every guest has to walk through, whether entering or leaving). The place is buzzing, and there's a constant coming and going. The noise level is correspondingly high; it bothered us considerably and wasn't conducive to a relaxed conversation at the table. The babble from the speakers also counteracts the babble in the dining room. Some of the seating is quite close together, so you're practically sitting back to back with your neighbors. The rooms are very attractively decorated, but I think the Disney characters on the counter are completely out of place. Both the drinks and the food arrived incredibly quickly, although my wife's chosen dish was only lukewarm. Overall, the food was of good quality. We finished eating a full 35 minutes after entering. It's never been that fast in a restaurant before. Looking at the clock was already quite irritating, but we took the opportunity to pay. It just wasn't cozy enough, and so our visit to Kartoffelhaus remains our shortest restaurant visit ever.

A very original and cozy restaurant. The ambience is great and the decor is humorous. There is something to discover at every point. We came spontaneously and they were able to offer us a table. The ambience is simply a 12/10, at first I thought I was somewhere in Ireland in a fairytale forest 🥹 the food and service were also great, the menu was very attractively designed. Price performance 👌🏼. It was also nice that there was a children's corner to pass the time. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again

Unfortunately you can only give one star as the worst rating. I was really looking forward to the potato house because I thought I would be able to enjoy good German cuisine. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. In addition to late reorders (ketchup for fries, when the fries were almost eaten), the home-style food couldn't stand out. The schnitzel that was ordered tasted like a ready meal. At first glance, an ordered burger could obviously offer a lot, unfortunately that was the only thing it could shine with. Two people each ordered a burger and both ended up with severe stomach pains that lasted for several hours. Some of the individual ingredients were dried out and no longer attractive. In summary, it was a disaster that demanded a price that, in my opinion, was far below the price-performance ratio. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Vegetarian Thuringian dumplings with vegetables and cream sauce. The dumplings 1a tasted great. The vegetables in cream sauce were carrots, zucchini, parsnips etc in béchamel sauce We should have asked; the vegetables in béchamel were not to our taste. The third guest had the schnitzel with hollandaise and Gouda gratin and fries. He was blissful. Nevertheless, thanks to the team, good service, nice atmosphere and great music 😄

Totally rustic restaurant as you know it from before. We were here on a Thursday lunchtime, the service was very nice and quick. The “Kartoffelrundschau” (menu) was created with a lot of love and humor and reads very well! Really delicious regional products that are completely reasonable in price. All in all, worth a visit! :)
