Yes, very much so. We stumbled in purely for a local beer and ended up in a temple/museum/hodgepodge of East German nostalgia. Lovingly collected and designed, the ambiance alone is worth a visit. And then we started. All the dishes that were carried past us (for other guests) were simply bursting with imagination. Visually, they were an invitation to indulgence and a pleasant stay. It was a pleasure just reading through the menu; the theme of "Thuringian cuisine" promises everything except that a guest leaves hungry. The portions are sufficiently large, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Despite the packed restaurant, the staff were on top of things, attentive, friendly, and helpful. And so the whole concept works perfectly. Blessed are those who have such staff. We had a great evening in this restaurant and will be back next time. Keep up the good work. It couldn't be better. Visited Eisenach as a city trip and spontaneously stopped at this restaurant. Wanted to eat something from the region. Roulade with red cabbage was mine Choice. I have no idea whether this is typical for the area. But it tasted!! There was also a great atmosphere. I'll come back there

The Kartoffelhaus showed two sides. The service was very friendly, but the food was a less than pleasant experience. One day, two meals were excellent. One day, one was very good, and the other was okay. Friends, remember, you too occasionally have a chef among your guests.

Quaint ambiance, friendly service, hearty food. Also Thuringian specialties. Their own beer, very tasty. We had a lovely evening.

The Kartoffelhaus certainly makes an impression and exudes a rustic coziness upon entering, just as you'd expect from a Kartoffelhaus. However, it depends on which table you're seated at. You'll definitely have more fun in a private room than on the path (which every guest has to walk through, whether entering or leaving). The place is buzzing, and there's a constant coming and going. The noise level is correspondingly high; it bothered us considerably and wasn't conducive to a relaxed conversation at the table. The babble from the speakers also counteracts the babble in the dining room. Some of the seating is quite close together, so you're practically sitting back to back with your neighbors. The rooms are very attractively decorated, but I think the Disney characters on the counter are completely out of place. Both the drinks and the food arrived incredibly quickly, although my wife's chosen dish was only lukewarm. Overall, the food was of good quality. We finished eating a full 35 minutes after entering. It's never been that fast in a restaurant before. Looking at the clock was already quite irritating, but we took the opportunity to pay. It just wasn't cozy enough, and so our visit to Kartoffelhaus remains our shortest restaurant visit ever.

Great atmosphere, there's something to see in every corner. The service is first-class. The food is delicious and plentiful. The value for money is good. Definitely try it. But be sure to make a reservation. We were lucky today despite the full house. Thank you very much.

Very satisfied. Food top, fresh and homemade as recommended several times. Service very accommodating, friendly and quick. But the guest area is way too overloaded with decorations. Something slapped onto the walls and ceilings without any sense or reason. Everything doesn't fit together at all. That's better. Best regards. We would still like to come back.

Absolutely recommended. We had the Thuringian platter for 2 and it was absolutely worth the money. Everything tastes very tasty. Dogs are allowed.

The ambience is simply a 12/10, at first I thought I was somewhere in Ireland in a fairytale forest 🥹 the food and service were also great, the menu was very attractively designed. Price performance 👌🏼. It was also nice that there was a children's corner to pass the time. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again

Unfortunately you can only give one star as the worst rating. I was really looking forward to the potato house because I thought I would be able to enjoy good German cuisine. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. In addition to late reorders (ketchup for fries, when the fries were almost eaten), the home-style food couldn't stand out. The schnitzel that was ordered tasted like a ready meal. At first glance, an ordered burger could obviously offer a lot, unfortunately that was the only thing it could shine with. Two people each ordered a burger and both ended up with severe stomach pains that lasted for several hours. Some of the individual ingredients were dried out and no longer attractive. In summary, it was a disaster that demanded a price that, in my opinion, was far below the price-performance ratio. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Vegetarian Thuringian dumplings with vegetables and cream sauce. The dumplings 1a tasted great. The vegetables in cream sauce were carrots, zucchini, parsnips etc in béchamel sauce We should have asked; the vegetables in béchamel were not to our taste. The third guest had the schnitzel with hollandaise and Gouda gratin and fries. He was blissful. Nevertheless, thanks to the team, good service, nice atmosphere and great music 😄

Totally rustic restaurant as you know it from before. We were here on a Thursday lunchtime, the service was very nice and quick. The “Kartoffelrundschau” (menu) was created with a lot of love and humor and reads very well! Really delicious regional products that are completely reasonable in price. All in all, worth a visit! :)

Very original and cozy, but also very busy shop. The food is very tasty and special requests are also taken into account. The house beer was also very tasty. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were different than I had imagined (mini potatoes halved including peel and only subtly seasoned, no bacon/onions). I wouldn't choose this as a side dish again.

It was really a great experience. The restaurant has a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The menu is varied and there is something to suit every taste. The dish with potatoes was particularly tasty. The spices were just perfect. The staff was very professional and quick. The food came quickly and the prices were really fair for the quality. I can definitely recommend it

A great place to enjoy (Thuringian) specialties in a very special atmosphere! We were there in a larger group and of course had pre-ordered. Our reservation secured us a large table in the separate room. That was really great. The service was so well organized that all dishes were served at the same time. And every single dish was worth seeing and tasting. I decided to make a plate for two people. These treats were just manageable thanks to my blackhead... I can highly recommend the potato house in Eisenach!

Very nice restaurant, rustically furnished. Food tastes delicious, large portions. We were there spontaneously. But you should pre-order, especially now in winter. A visit to the Wartburg is also worth it. Many thanks to the nice staff at the potato house.

Wonderfully rustic atmosphere. The food was really tasty and well prepared. We went there spontaneously with our 5 year old, but you should book in advance. It filled up quickly. The staff is simply great and in a good mood. Highly recommended. Thanks

It's always nice to eat here. I recommend making a reservation in advance as it is always a busy restaurant. We were lucky yesterday and got a table without a reservation. When eating I deducted a point for the remoulade on the brawn, which was not homemade. It's not bad, but it's a shame. We will definitely come back, it is a place where you can feel comfortable and the staff is always friendly and accommodating.

I'm thrilled. I was there for lunch with my child. Great play area. Schnitzel gratinated with cauliflower. Great !!!! Gladly again. Nice service, a kind word to the child even in stressful situations. We'd love to come back.

Went for lunch today with 4 adults and 1 small child. Very friendly staff, food was delicious. The children's plate was very attractively presented. Compliments to the kitchen. Very child friendly. To bridge the waiting time, there is a small play area for the little ones, which is positioned so that other guests are not disturbed. Brilliant! I didn't find the food there that great, and the service also takes some getting used to. We ordered Cola and got Fanta, then we ordered our food. The lettuce on the burger was wilted and relatively small for 18 euros. The fish with a small jacket potato wasn't much for the same price, and the "cart full of crap" was tasty, but it was only half full and instead of 3 medallions there were only 2, the salad consisted of a lettuce leaf from a tomato, 2 slices Cucumber and 2 slices of radishes. The “cart full of crap” was only half full and filled with aluminum foil at the bottom and that too for 18 euros. Then for dessert there was a potato pancake with applesauce, under the potato pancake there was hair from the cook or the waitress.

Great food in a very nice building. We were there for lunch on 12/7/24. From the special menu we chose the goose breast pictured and the potato burger. Both technically and qualitatively very well done. The presentation of the drinks menu is really good 😅😂 Top. Creative gastronomy like you rarely see 👍 The house beer is also recommended. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert...🤤😉 The staff at the table was always friendly and answered questions very competently. The prices are justified for the food and not overpriced, which unfortunately tends to be the case these days. Thank you for the pleasant time and the food 🙏

Were visiting Thuringia. We were warmly welcomed with our 3 dogs. Food was good. Service friendly and accommodating.

I went there twice because the first time it was really tasty. The meat portion was very clear, but that didn't bother me. It was delicious. The second time I ordered a potato pizza with ox shreds. In my opinion it didn't have much to do with a pizza. She wasn't cross. It was more of a potato pancake with meat which was delicious. But with too much hollandaise sauce.

It was a 10 out of 10 experience. Point. The ambience of the restaurant is, to say the least, phenomenal. Great interior with great decorative items that create a unique atmosphere. The food is tip top. The service was friendly and quick.

Women/men are happy to be guests here. Great ambience, great service, good prices, delicious food. We really enjoyed it twice GREAT!!!!!!
