Hotel "Haus Hainstein" in Eisenach

A very winding property at the end of a very steep and winding private road; alpine experience with switchbacks is helpful. But that also means peace and quiet without through traffic. Ideal for relaxation, especially since the transition from the hotel grounds to the forest is seamless (apart from one gate), and you can immediately begin the climb to Wartburg Castle. Friendly staff, a hearty breakfast with regional specialties. Dinner in the in-house restaurant isn't exactly cheap, but it's convenient, delicious, and well worth the price. Just a quick note: The upper parking lot could use a guardrail to protect it from the drop to the lower parking lot... you have to be quite careful.

Prefaced: we are Americans traveling in Europe, from the Midwest- The best coffee on the trip so far! Great location near to the city park (bottom of the hill), a hotel off the beaten path and certainly not a chain. Rooms are smaller than the typical Hampton by Hilton but everything was perfectly clean and met the needs nicely. Restaurant in the basement was also quite good if only a bit pricy. If I could change anything though it would be to improve the pillows - but this seems to be a common theme in Germany!

The room was very good and, above all, large. The location was very nice and quiet with a view of the castle. Plenty of parking and suitable for motorcycle riders. The breakfast was very good, and the view was fantastic. The service was very friendly. Dinner (we had pasta and schnitzel) wasn't very impressive for me.

A very pleasant hotel that deserves more than 3 stars. Attentive, unobtrusive staff. Romantic rooms, bathroom with shower. Absolutely quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac. The unobstructed view of the Wartburg Castle from the breakfast terrace is incomparably beautiful. Very good breakfast, strong coffee, and egg dishes freshly prepared upon request.

A good, affordable, and impressive hotel. Great service. Highly recommended! The prices in the restaurant are 5-star, but unfortunately, the quality isn't. My Wiener schnitzel was too thick, lacked ripples, and the salad was more of a side dish. 5 stars nonetheless.

We stayed there as a family for one night. The hotel is located high on the hill. Getting up there with full luggage and a not-so-powerful car is quite an effort. Parking is free, right in front of the hotel. The hotel, at least the first wing with the old building, is beautiful. We were in the annex and had a suite upstairs with a view of the Wartburg. Absolutely wonderful and quiet. However, the mattresses were completely uneven and saggy. They really need replacing. But it was very clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was also excellent, with incredibly delicious croissants 😋. The winter garden with a view of the castle was fantastic!

The hotel is very quaint, but chic. The new staff should be properly trained before they're let loose on guests. The hotel is very high up, so the drive is very steep. The beds in the rustically furnished rooms are very worn. A point deducted. The breakfast, however, is decent. Overall, I still give it 4 stars.

We spent two nights in this beautiful hotel, with a breathtaking view of the Wartburg Castle. Our booked room was on the 4th floor, but unfortunately the elevator was out of service. Since we were traveling with a dog, and I'm not very good on my feet, we were given another room without any problems, which was accessible by a different elevator. What we also really liked 👉 Dogs are welcome everywhere in this hotel ❤️ The food in the restaurant and breakfast were always delicious and beautifully presented. The evenings at the bar and on the adjoining terrace were also very pleasant. Unfortunately, we have to deduct a point for the beds; the mattress felt "crooked," which wasn't very comfortable. Otherwise, a pleasant stay, and the staff were always very accommodating and friendly. Since Thuringia is always worth a visit, we will definitely book a room at Haus Hainstein again.

A renovated building with some impressive architectural styles. Due to its hilly location, it can only be reached from the city center via quite steep paths. Parking is partly gravel and dusty, and not always sufficient when fully booked. The bathroom and shower were quite cramped for the premium double room booked. The room was on the 4th floor with a beautiful view of the Wartburg Castle – but the elevator was/is not usable, resulting in a significant deduction in the B rating for the arduous ascent via stairs. Additionally, on the day of arrival, we were given incorrect information that the elevator would be available again the next day – but that won't happen in the next few weeks... Room service didn't arrive on Tuesday, and a request for toilet paper refills had to be repeated at reception. Overall, the staff were largely friendly and helpful, but couldn't make up for the shortcomings mentioned. Not highly recommended, at least not for older people, given the current situation.

A very nice hotel with an outdoor terrace overlooking the Wartburg Castle. Breathtaking views, and the seating is also very comfortable. Service is prompt, friendly, and extremely attentive. A hotel with a dignified interior and beautiful period interior design.

The location is perfect for hiking. Dragon Gorge, Elias Cave, Wartburg Castle...all within easy walking distance. The room was okay. A bit dated, but overall okay. The breakfast was unfortunately not good. The rolls were very dry. The coffee from the machine and the filter coffee were not good. Unfortunately, it was a bit bitter. There were four of us, and everyone had the same opinion about the breakfast. It's very positive that a dog is allowed in the room. The cost: €7.50. Completely reasonable.

Very nice hotel! A truly fantastic location! It's a great walk to the Wartburg Castle or the old town. Our room was large and clean, but unfortunately, there was no view of the Wartburg. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. The food in the restaurant was delicious, although the fried potatoes were a bit spicy for my taste. Overall, the hotel and restaurant are highly recommended.

This was the second year in a row that we dined at Haus Hainstein. Our occasion: our wedding anniversary. These mentions alone meant that we were able to find a specially decorated table with a view of Wartburg Castle each time. This second time, too, we were delighted by the attentive service, the friendliness shown to us, and of course, the delicious food with a fantastic view. This year, Oussama Rouamchi served us: Thank you for the wonderful evening at Haus Hainstein.

The service is abysmal. Not a single friendly word upon arrival, just "the rooms aren't ready yet." No "Welcome, nice to have you as our guest." When we finally checked in, the conversation was also lackluster. The two ladies who had to work at the bar that evening were obviously not up for their shift. Checking in from 3 p.m. and checking out by 10 a.m. isn't a stretch for someone who wants to relax. The room was dirty, with lots of disgusting hair in the bathroom (especially the shower), and the towels smelled brackish. The sign says you should only tilt the windows because of bats—why isn't there proper, air-permeable protection on the windows? With outside temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius, facing west and on the 4th floor, it gets quite hot in the room, and it's unfortunate that I can't open the window all the way at night. I don't understand why there are so many good reviews here; we only experienced this hotel with grumpy and overwhelmed staff. The location is great, of course, but you shouldn't rest on your laurels. Not recommended.

Four of us stayed overnight and ate dinner in the restaurant. Great location, spectacular view of Wartburg Castle from the terrace. The service in the restaurant was excellent; we haven't experienced such a friendly, competent, and young waiter in a long time. Completely satisfied. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

There is a challenging 1km climb but it is worth staying at this hotel, the restaurant is also excellent.

A breathtaking view of the Wartburg!

A beautiful hotel with historic charm. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are large, and everything is clean. Mosquito nets on the windows would have been especially nice. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace with a magnificent view of the Wartburg Castle. We had dinner there; it wasn't a bargain, but it was delicious! All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and cheerful. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired and was delicious. The location up on the mountain is beautiful, peaceful, and nestled in nature. You can even hike to the Wartburg Castle from there. As is often the case in Eisenach: the approach is very steep and the road narrow. But it's worth it, and we would definitely come back. Even our dogs were welcome. Simply fantastic!

I rarely give a full five stars. But here, everything was perfect. From the room (very clean and great beds), to the view of the Wartburg, fantastic. The breakfast was very fresh and good. The restaurant served good and, above all, not overpriced dishes. The house is at the top of a mountain, which I would never hike up, but the hiking trails behind the house are ideal for that. So, I'll be back again, thank you for the lovely, albeit short, stay.

The service and location deserve 6 stars. Special praise goes to the kitchen, which truly fulfilled our every wish. The fact that this hotel only has 3 stars can only be a joke.

The location is fantastic. Picturesque views of the Wartburg Castle, within walking distance of the city center. The staff is extremely friendly. Unfortunately, the furnishings are quite dated, including sagging mattresses...

We only had coffee here, but the service was excellent and couldn't have been better. We'll be back, but for dinner.

We were here with a large group. Reservations and booked dinners—everything worked out well. Our room on the 4th floor was small and not quite modern. The shower in the small bathroom, however, was a disaster. The shower head is old, the cold water control was very difficult, and after showering, the bathroom was completely flooded. The shower stall is leaking. The room is very clean, though. Thanks to the friendly cleaning staff. Breakfast is okay. A Bircher muesli and fresh yogurt would have been a welcome addition. Egg dishes are freshly prepared. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy dinner; the "deer" must have been a bit old. The service staff is very friendly. However, the hotel restaurant closes at 10 p.m.

Used to be a good hotel and restaurant 😀 The welcome: You can't sit outside. The weather was fine, and the view of Wartburg was great. But it seemed to me like the waitresses weren't in the mood to work 😄😂

Rarely have I experienced such great service. I am a trained cook and refader myself, an instructor and was in the VSR national team and won several German championships in the restaurant, as an actor and trainer. It makes you incredibly happy that you can still experience service like this. There were four of us and we were all really excited. I experience similar top service in France from time to time. The young men on the terrace yesterday on Easter Sunday delivered a brilliant performance. Friendly without being pushy, relaxed but not direct. A huge compliment to the trainees who we can only wish will continue like this. But also a huge compliment to the person who trains here. A really great achievement that is bearing fruit. How happy I would be if I could experience that more often. Big compliments to all of you and please keep it up!

We celebrated our mother's birthday in the Hainstein house. The service was first class and the food was very good. The house has a wonderful view of the Wartburg and is a great starting point for hikes in the region.

Absolutely! Very family-friendly! We had lunch on the terrace with two children and were served extremely friendly. A playground next door made the stay even more enjoyable. Probably the friendliest restaurant staff in Thuringia. We'll be back!

Very charming hotel with cozy rooms, beautiful views of the Wartburg, in a really good location. The staff was also very friendly. A huge minus, however, is the breakfast buffet. Not only was the selection at youth hostel level, but so was the quantity. We were very disappointed with that.

Very nice rooms, but noisy until late at night on weekends when there is a party downstairs at the reception/bar. Heating that is difficult to regulate. Friendly service, but quickly overwhelmed, especially on weekends. Food okay, but (unfortunately!) the quality is average at best. Plus it's expensive, it doesn't go together. For breakfast with over 100 guests, the buffet is absolutely (!) undersized, and there is a constantly (!) long queue at the only coffee machine. Not a nice experience! Too bad. Parking organization in the evening impossible, hardly anything to find. The location, on the other hand, is great, with a great view of the Thuringian Forest and the Wartburg. Also nice for hiking.

A really very nice house. Nice, tidy rooms that are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and the food is also very good. We were there on business and also used the conference room. Everything fine! The location is of course phenomenal because the house is at the foot of the Wartburg, which can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes.

Had dinner there with the family in the restaurant and was really impressed! The food was really tasty and the portions were good. The atmosphere is rather old-fashioned but very nice and the view of the castle from the terrace is really great.

We are very satisfied. The location of the hotel is perfect for us. Quietly located but still central. Very close on foot to the city and especially to the Wartburg through the forest access directly at the hotel. Our room had a wonderful view of the Wartburg and the forest. It wasn't very big, but it had a lot of charm. Everything was clean and tidy. The service at the reception and at the meal is very good. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is manageable. There is enough of a lot, but not in excess. Scrambled/fried eggs and salmon are freshly prepared and served upon request. This means less waste is created. I like it. Personally, I missed a few little things for breakfast but with three stars you can't expect everyone to get everything they want. Overall it was very good and I was full too. Flexibility is everything. We can highly recommend the hotel. The view from the Wartburg to the hotel and vice versa is beautiful.

Ideal for exploring the Wartburg and Eisenach

Authentic hotel directly opposite the Wartburg. Arrival a bit challenging, because if you arrive on foot from the train station, you first have to climb the mountain to the hotel. But this route is worth it because it partly leads through a district with beautiful old villas. You should be good on foot. The hotel itself is an old, architecturally exciting building. The furnishings of the rooms also have a corresponding flair. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is modern and the view of the Wartburg Castle opposite is unique. A morning walk to the walls, about 1.3 km away, is worth it. The breakfast is good, the service is nice. Espresso is priced a bit too high - but perhaps you also pay for the ambience of the terrace (with a view of the Wartburg). The most critical thing to consider is the seminar rooms: some of them are too small and they heat up quickly in the summer. At least air conditioning in some of the rooms can help.

Unfortunately it's not that easy without a car, you have to hike quite a bit up the mountain and there are no buses there. But the view and the walk through the beautiful residential area make up for it. The house is a bit old-fashioned. Unfortunately, the extension in particular wasn't that nice and the hallway was reminiscent of a retirement home. The room there was okay. The main house seems to be very nice and many rooms have a great view. There is an infrared sauna for 2 people, perfect for warming up in the evening. The location makes it very quiet at night. restaurant The breakfast buffet is okay. It offers a wide selection of sausages. The cheese and bread selection could be better. The fresh egg dishes are nice. There are no vegan alternatives. The restaurant's menu consists mainly of home cooking. Vegetarian dishes are difficult to find, and there are no vegan options. The cheese spaetzle were quite fatty and tasted more like sour cream than cheese. That's why we preferred to go down into the city. Overall, the hotel is worth it because of the location. If you feel like hiking, it is the perfect starting point. Drinking a coffee on the sun terrace is really nice. The audience tends to be older, and we didn't see any play options for children. The staff was very friendly.

First to the positive: The view of the Wartburg is truly unique! Unfortunately, the negative points clearly outweigh the negatives: 1. the pricing tends to suit a 4-star hotel, thanks to the Genius discount it was “affordable” 2. the room is clearly getting old and you can see clear signs of wear and tear 3. the heating was gurgling, it wasn't warm, hopefully this will work for the coming guests in the colder season. 4. Cleanliness of the room was rather satisfactory, the smell took some getting used to, the wet room was absolutely small and dirty 5. the friendliness of the staff at the reception is rather poor Conclusion: The next stay in Eisenach will not be at Haus Hainstein! I wonder if there are any significant differences between the rooms? How else can there be so many positive reviews?

Very nice hotel, with a wonderful view of the Wartburg. If not directly from the room, then from the breakfast room. Our room, with a small separate room with armchairs, was spacious. The ladies from reception, restaurant and housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. However, access to the hotel is via small, sometimes narrow and steep streets. The breakfast was good, scrambled/fried eggs were freshly prepared upon request.

It was just great. We rounded off an eventful visit to the Wartburg with a final dinner together at the Hotel Hainstein. It was just great. Staff very accommodating. With the view of the Wartburg and the Bismarck Tower, it was difficult to head back home. We enjoyed this stay to the fullest. Many thanks again to the extremely friendly staff. Something like this doesn't happen very often. It invites you for further visits.

Great hotel for a short stay in Eisenach. The hotel is located a bit outside the city. Returning from a walk to the city is quite a challenge, because the road leads uphill. Parking spaces are a bit scarce. Accessible to people in wheelchairs, but due to the location of the facility, probably only for motorists. The common space is impressive. Some guests have the privilege of having a view of the Wartburg from their room. Good varied breakfasts. Nice restaurant with terrace and winter garden. Fast internet.

Slept 2 nights in this beautiful, historic hotel in June 2023. The road there is a bit steep and tight, but that does not detract from this great stay. A beautiful terrace with a view of a lower forest and the Wartburg (where you can walk through the forest with a brisk walk uphill in about 20/30 minutes). The rooms are very spacious and equipped with everything necessary. Lovely bed and shower. The breakfast buffet was generous and very tasty. Sometimes a bit of a long wait due to few staff when we were there. The atmosphere is quiet, cozy and homely. We will definitely come back here!!

Fantastic view of the Wartburg, delicious food

We spent wonderful days at the Hotel Hainstein in August this year. The room was cozy and clean. The breakfast was perfect and plentiful. Despite Corona, we had a very nice time! We would be happy to come back. However, only when the political situation in this beautiful federal state has fundamentally changed.

The positive preliminary: The hotel has a really good location. If you can walk easily, it takes about 20 minutes to get to Wartburg or the city. Parking spaces are available and are free and sufficient. The breakfast buffet was good, the view of the Wartburg from the sun terrace was phenomenal. The food in the restaurant in the evening was tasty. The ladies at reception and in service were all very friendly. The negative points: Checking in from 3 p.m. is ok, but even checking in earlier without checking into a room was not possible. Checkout for this was at 10 a.m.... The room was old-fashioned, the windows hadn't been cleaned and the blackout curtain was a bit dirty. The floor creaked and overall everything was very noisy. The bathroom was quite narrow and the ventilation hadn't been cleaned for a long time. There was no room service the day after we arrived. Sockets are in short supply. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning and when the outside temperature was over 30 degrees, even ventilation didn't help much.

Wonderful location, you can walk to the Wartburg in about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the access road has hairpin bends, cobblestones and a 9% gradient. The walk into town and from town to the hotel was steep and strenuous.

Staff very friendly, rooms great, service okay. Breakfast was okay, a salad (meat or egg salad) was missing. A piece of cake would also be good. The journey is very bumpy "the road probably dates back to the time when the Wartburg was built 🤣😂.

The hotel is on the edge of the city, but once you're there, the view of the Wartburg is great. The way there is no longer because. It was great to have breakfast outdoors with a view of the Wartburg Castle!

We stayed at Haus Hainstein for one night (3 people July 15/16, 2024). When we arrived at the house/reception around 6 p.m. we must have had a bad time. Not that we expected an "exuberant reception" - but if I declare this as a "cold, sterile greeting", I'm probably still being polite. Most of the time you are asked in a friendly way: "How was the trip" - "Did you have a nice day" - or nice that you are here... - none of that - well. We booked by phone - the single room and the "suite" were ready...! So get into the elevator and go to the 4th floor. As previous reviews showed, the rooms were furnished in a "very nostalgic" way - there was considerable damage to the furniture - of course the floorboards in the corridors and also in the rooms creaked...but we knew that it was an old building - so this no point of criticism! The bathroom was clean at first glance - anyone who is at loggerheads with their optician has an advantage here. Upon closer inspection, the shower had significant deficiencies in terms of cleanliness, there were mold stains and traces of mold in the corners and on the hinges...which could probably be described as questionable even in a 3-star hotel - especially since one succumbs to the impression when looking at the bill to have lived in a 4-star hotel. The fittings in the shower only partially “gleamed” with chrome - verdigris was unmistakable in many places...not that great. People of "larger size" probably don't enjoy such a shower either, they should probably enter it straight away so that they face the fitting...a turn in the narrow shower would be an acrobatic masterpiece...! We were warmly greeted for dinner - our waiter spoke German quite well - he came from Morocco. We would describe the food as OK... of course not for gourmets or "cheapers" - they'll probably bite their tongue or their tail... oh well! The view of the Wartburg was unique - we would like to emphasize that. We spent the night there a while ago in a "somewhat questionable" way...same "weak points" - the hotel is probably closed now, we were told...just in passing - so not surprising! Just for breakfast/departure. Since we often had to experience several guests leaving at the same time and it took a long time, I wanted to pay the hotel bill before breakfast. The employee was a bit overwhelmed by this...I was only supposed to pay when we left...at my request, the boss in the next room was asked...I was allowed to pay before "checking out"...what a joy - that's service??? The breakfast was basically decent - the employee seemed to be the worst of the receptionist from the day before, an ice-cold facial expression, no smile - probably no joy at work. OK - it was 9 o'clock in the morning - who can really smile??? We now had to speak to this "ice cream lady" because there was a sign indicating that you could order an egg dish (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, etc.). The scrambled egg thing was fine - my daughter wanted a soft-boiled egg...! I don't really see it as a big challenge, I do it every Sunday when it's my turn to eat breakfast...! Well, that wouldn't work at all - (what a stupid wish) - she wouldn't be allowed to give out soft-boiled eggs...! We've never had that before. So, the "humorous natural talent" asked to serve the egg as soft as possible... a pious wish - then our order came... both eggs had probably been boiled (hard) the day before or even earlier and were then only still warmed up... you can tell when the egg is cut open - e.g. also with colored Easter eggs that have been hard-boiled for a while. Basically "everyone as he wants" and it's a small thing - but being lied to is just not okay! That's why we ultimately evaluated it.

A simple but well-kept room with a fantastic view of the Wartburg. The restaurant is not exceptional and the prices are unfortunately too high. But very nice as accommodation.

. Restaurant review only...I would say airplane food I don't understand the very different ratings. Ready-made pre-cut salad, the cuts are usually already brownish, ready-made schnitzels and ready-made fried potatoes from the package. The dumplings from the plastic bag. Are there good and bad days here? I don't think there's a chef working here. We happened to pass by here after hiking and stopped in. Decision regretted... and at the best time for dinner. Normally I never post anything, but I have to get rid of this experience now.

We felt comfortable in the room with a view of the Wartburg Castle. The room had a lovely old charm that we loved, including the creaking wooden floorboards. The room was large, as was the bathroom, which was a pleasant size. What was particularly striking was the friendliness of all the employees at Haus Hainstein. From reception to room service to the staff in the restaurant. Everything was tried to fulfill every wish. The food in the restaurant was okay. Since we were usually too lazy to go into town in the evening, we ate there almost every evening. Price-performance is rather on the upper limit. But I would like to highlight the Lutherstube with the small niches if you wanted to eat something cozy and quiet. But you can't beat the terrace with a dream view of the Wartburg.

The service was quite slow. The soup came and immediately afterwards the main course and the food was average at best (overcooked pasta, tomato sauce with more water than anything else, ready-made tarte flambée, Wiener schnitzel too thick and not divided into two). Clearly not recommended for this price category. For us, never again.

The view of the Wartburg is great. However, we cannot recommend the hotel. We had booked 3 nights as a married couple, but then wanted to arrive one night earlier. There were only 2 single rooms available on the Bookingcom portal, so I called. This was confirmed to me, so I told the lady on the phone that I could book it through Bookingcom at the price mentioned there. She said I can book that for her too. When billing after payment I saw that a much higher price was charged. The boss wouldn't be there now, so I should write an email. After almost 2 weeks I still don't have an answer. When I asked questions, I was told that the boss hadn't had time yet. The mattresses in the single rooms were a disaster. At lunchtime, when we wanted to lie down, we were hammering, drilling and milling above the double room we moved into after the first night. A complaint about the matter was ignored, the boss wanted to call me, but he didn't. Probably no time either. On the first evening there was a large company for dinner. They sat outside under a large tent and all the other guests in the house inside. All the doors were wide open, so that all the guests were cold and sitting in a draft. Good thing I still had a thick winter jacket with me at the end of May. When we complained, we were told there was nothing we could do. We left after 5 days with the feeling that we were not welcome here. We do not recommend the house.

Quiet hotel close to the Wartburg.

Unfortunately I can only rate the restaurant because we didn't sleep there. We had booked a table for 7 p.m. It was supposed to be a cozy birthday dinner for our 80th birthday. We were deeply disappointed. Even before we got our table, we were informed by the very nice ladies that it would probably be a very, very long time before we could get anything to eat. Why do you accept a reservation if it doesn't work? Even if there is a large group in the house, with a little organizational talent everything can be managed. We went home disappointed and frustrated. It was my mother's 80th birthday. Is this how you treat guests today?

The location is actually very nice. Past all the villas. However, getting there is currently a little more difficult. Some construction sites and constant one-way streets, where our navigation system sent us a little crosswise. Good starting point for hikers and cyclists who want to explore the area or go up to the nearby Wartburg. The rooms are very classic and could use some modernization. But what is or was problematic. The bathroom. We are 1.83 and 1.89 tall. It's very, very tight. Approximately 2 sqm. So if you're even taller, there were actually some over 2 m. I imagine that would be difficult. Beds are good for sleeping. Which I also didn't think was nice. The service in general. This has nothing to do with expectations being too high. Unfortunately it was chaotic and the quite young staff simply cannot communicate. Little things like thank you or bon appetit are standard. Breakfast situation the same. 8.20 And the buffet was well used up and tables were not set. We and others helped ourselves. Basically no problem. But because there was always something missing, it was very restless. Who wants that in the morning? The structure of the buffet needs improvement. There was simply a lack of structure overall. Also with the staff. This mindless running around was unfortunately noticeable. A pity.

Traditional hotel at the foot of the Wartburg. The location is unique. Despite its age, the Hotel Haus Hainstein is always worth a visit. Rooms have been renovated or are being renovated. At a (large) event, employees quickly reach their limits. Requests are ignored and the hotel is overbooked.

Without a doubt, a house with charm and potential. Given the amateurish service (25 minutes waiting time at check-in, all processes very slow) and the old-fashioned and small rooms, the price-performance ratio is not right.

Wonderful starting point for a relaxed hike to the Wartburg. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable despite having an extra bed for the children. Great ambience in the reception area, brilliant view of the Wartburg. Breakfast was very good, we found it unusual that things like scrambled eggs or salmon were only served upon request. Enough parking spaces available. It should be noted that it takes a few minutes to walk to the city center and then climb a few meters back, which is not a bad workout after dinner.

Simple hotel that benefits from the beautiful view of the Wartburg Castle.

Here they really try to be friendly and accommodating to their guests. The price-performance ratio is okay. From the sun terrace you have a phenomenal view of the Wartburg. You shouldn't have too high expectations when it comes to equipment and comfort. Renovation would do the hotel a lot of good

The review only refers to the restaurant. It was my first time eating there and I found it very successful. The ambience of the dining room is appropriate, the staff was friendly and accommodating. There is also a great view of the Wartburg from the terrace. We ordered various food and drinks and everything was very successful and tasty. Many thanks and praise to the entire team - we will definitely be happy to come back.

The house is located above Eisenach and can only be reached via a cobblestone street where you think the bikes will jump off their racks. Beautiful reception hall and the view of the Wartburg from the terrace or a room at the front is simply great. Room OK, noisy and mattresses not really good. Breakfast was sufficient and good. Staff does not correspond to what you would expect from friendly employees. Everyone was very grumpy at the beginning and only when they were treated with kindness did they thaw out. So don't lose patience. Price/performance fits. House is recommended.

This review refers solely to the restaurant. We were three couples full of expectations and wanted to visit the restaurant for lunch on Good Friday, where we were served a wide variety of dishes. Unfortunately the quality was only satisfactory throughout! Roulade too dry Schnitzel tasty and too dry. If you don't really want something to eat, you'll find what you're looking for here. All in all, we cannot recommend this restaurant, which we visited many years ago!

Superb. Historic place with an amazing view on Wartburg castle.

Unfortunately the restaurant was a disappointment: Röstbätel, bratwurst with fried potatoes and cheese spaetzle were ordered. After more than an hour (!) the food was ready: Bratwurst not cooked through, fried potatoes tasted like they came out of a bag, cheese spaetzle was a mushy mass with ready-made dry-fried onions. A pity.

The location is brilliant, with a great view over Eisenach.

I haven't stayed there yet, but I've eaten there several times. I would describe the food as high-quality, regional cuisine. And all of this without excessive prices, but simply reasonable. The service staff are friendly and attentive and changes in the composition of a meal are always possible and are then served exactly the same.

I was here once years ago and was very satisfied back then. Unfortunately less this time. I reported to reception about hair in the bed. This meant she made new bed. Apparently she just fished the hair out of the bed and threw it in the bathroom trash. There was still hair under the pillow and blanket. Addendum: I was apologized very kindly. We were able to sort it out. After checking out, the cleaning lady spoke to me again. A super nice woman.

The location of the hotel and the view are great. Unfortunately, that was it. Brown water from the pipes, a bathroom the size of a storage room and then some very unfriendly and short-tempered staff. I don't even want to start with the food. If you address the problems, you will be rejected or not even noticed. I have never experienced something like that. Here the customer is definitely not king and you cannot feel comfortable there.

It should be a wonderful, unforgettable weekend with the whole family. This short trip will definitely be unforgettable. A birthday party in a small circle was planned. As discussed, we passed on the afternoon meal requests for dinner to a restaurant employee. As is usual with a larger group. Unfortunately, when the wrong food was served and we pointed it out to him, the service employee became upset. We should then provide him with proof of what we ordered. Mistakes are human and no one meant any harm to the gentleman, we just wanted the food we ordered. Afterwards the employees lost all respect for us as guests. Such treatment is beyond disgraceful. A statement like, "The colleague is stubborn now" is more than unprofessional. We would like to thank the service employee who tried to save the situation. He was not to blame for the situation that arose.

The main goal of a tourist destination is to make a tourist feel at home in a foreign place - to feel comfortable. However, there is no trace of it in the “Haus Hainstein” hotel. From the brown water in the pipes (which is no fault of the staff) to the disrespectful treatment of the service staff, we were beyond horrified. I have never experienced such an unfriendly and inappropriate reaction to the situation at hand in a restaurant. Mistakes happen, we are all human and no one expects perfect service, just respectful treatment. The hotel is really suitable as a starting point for a hike to the Wartburg and you have a really nice view of Eisenach from the rooms. However, this is also possible from the parking lot.

We stayed at Haus Hainstein over New Year's Eve and it was extremely good. The New Year's Eve celebration with dinner, live music and fireworks was great. The staff was always very friendly and attentive. A view of the Wartburg almost everywhere. We would love to go there again and again.

Very nice hotel with a view of the Wartburg. Staff is very helpful, friendly. Rooms are beautifully designed and there is enough space. The kitchen is highly recommended.

Unfortunately we have never experienced such a bad hotel!!!! Here are my impressions to warn you not to make the same mistakes as us and book this hotel: Breakfast: Minimalist, scrambled eggs, a 'special', only on request!! It costs money, but you can save!! Dinner: -> The most important thing for the boss is the additional source of income from the drinks, but extra long breaks between the individual courses. I was asked three times within 10 minutes if I would like something to drink. After eating, she threw a casual comment at me that said: "Oh, the gentleman has already finished eating?", since I don't eat that quickly. Everything should happen quickly and the guests are just checked in while eating. Special requests are not welcome at all. Vegetarian dish very minimalistic with no side dishes, just a vegetable medallion garnished with a green salad. Not full! I had to give the pork medallion back, the pepper sauce was so inedible and smelled rancid. The cook has something like 2 LEFT HANDS. It probably doesn't matter how it tastes, the beautiful Wartburg Castle is nearby, which attracts the guests. When one of the service employees brought the wrong food to our table again and we pointed it out to him, he simply took it away and gave it to the guest at the next table. Pictures: By the way, the picture with the 2 slices of bread is intended for the soup for 2 people! The scrambled eggs with bacon: here the bacon is so dry and breaks apart immediately. The room for 2 people is way too small for 2 people. Fazi: A rip-off across the board, not recommended! The prices are outrageously high with poor services.
