The food was simply amazing! We each had a dish with chanterelles and an extra request could be fulfilled without any problems. If you go, you should bring plenty of time with you, as the food is freshly prepared and the service staff is not super fast. But you make up for it with your charm. We weren't there because of the 'experience' but because of the good cuisine and it was really worth it! (The worst experience is the toilets there anyway 😅) The most unpleasant thing for my companion and me were the other guests who spoke disparagingly about the employees. They all did a great job! Thank you for the successful evening!

We were spontaneously sent back in the time machine and found ourselves in a cozy guest room by candlelight. There was a good selection of food and, in our opinion, very high-quality products were served on the plate and the plates were also well filled. We would come back the next time we were in transit and can highly recommend the adventure restaurant even without a specially booked event meal. Thanks to the Lutherstuben team!

Disappointing experience – Overpriced and poorly organized The visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. The evening started with a salad that was served with no dressing at all - dry and tasteless. The waiting times between courses were simply unreasonable at 45 minutes and suggest massive organizational problems in the kitchen. Another annoyance was the pea soup. Not only did it taste cheap, we also had to pick it up ourselves, and without the spoon that came with it. The main course, a loveless meat skewer without much taste. The dessert was supposed to be the highlight, but it was an absolute failure. An apple soaked in alcohol and drowned in an unreasonable amount of sugar burned at the table - but not in a good way. The whole thing was completely over-sweetened and really inedible. We ended up having to pay 100 euros for two people, which was completely excessive considering the poor quality of the food and the poor service. A spectacle was announced, but what was spectacular was the disappointment and the grossly exorbitant billing. I can absolutely not recommend this restaurant and will definitely not visit it again, which is also due to the fact that our complaint was not addressed at all and simply never got back to us. One star because none is impossible - an absolute six.

A great experience! You sit in a relatively dark, authentically furnished restaurant and drink and eat like in Luther's time in the 17th century. The service was very friendly, but since there was a lot going on, they both seemed a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. The crème brulé was also perfect.

We treated ourselves to the candle light dinner with a Maydays voucher and there was light and shadow. The ambience is TOP and simply great, from the guest room to the toilets (which you should definitely see 😀) The service staff is also very nice, friendly and has fun with their sayings! But here we also find the first point of criticism: one person is simply not enough for the size of the restaurant! In the end I just felt sorry for the waiter because I am a trained hotel manager myself. Kitchen staff had to help out in the end because there was too much going on even on Thursday evening and that ruined the great atmosphere at some point. This urgently needs to be improved!!! At the beginning there was an apple schnapps, which was good, and with the menu a white wine, which was also OK. The only thing I can say about the food is the menu, which is available as 3 or 4 courses (see pictures) and there are also differences in how it is served compared to the ala carte. We had plates like mine with the roulade, ala carte comes in a pan. Unfortunately, the food is also light and shade, salad is good, but not enough dressing, the main course is unfortunately only average, it just lacks pizzazz, roulade lacks seasoning, and the dumplings and red cabbage are probably more finished than homemade. My wife had the pike perch, which was good and the sauce too, but unfortunately the risotto was nothing, half through the other half was still half uncooked and there was no trace of schlonzig and the spices were also very poor. We were very surprised at the dessert, lava cake, crème brûlée and mango sorbet 😘🥰 (I would guess that it was bought in, but of a very good quality, so everything was okay and also very tasty, for us the best part of the meal) Drinks were okay too, blueberry wine, a water and a Pils 0.5 for €15 It was a nice evening, yes, but there was also criticism at the neighboring tables about the ala carte, cold food and unfortunately in the end you had to wait a long time. Since we were on vacation it didn't matter to us in the end, but it could still be improved significantly. Thanks to the staff who unfortunately have to implement the concept with too little planning and as a result a lot falls by the wayside. Please improve the number in the service, the poor guy must be able to sell your concept with joy because he is TOP!!!!!

A really great old-fashioned atmosphere... Yesterday we had a Luther meal that was very extensive. It was a lot and tasty... There are generally a lot of different delicious dishes on offer!! A place to really recommend.

We had a great evening here with draft beer from the clay mug, authentic service in costume and tasty food. To get us in the mood, without asking, we were given half a loaf of bread and dips, plus an apple schnapps, delicious. My main course - ox cheeks - was delicious. It's been a long time since I've eaten something so tasty. The ambience is rustic, medieval, in keeping with the name. It all fits together. The prices are very moderate, not to say inexpensive. Everything is just right. We had a 5 course candlelight dinner. Portions are so generous that we were unfortunately only able to eat a fraction of the main course. Location absolutely recommended.6

Great restaurant, really cleverly decorated and great ambience. The farmer's skewer was huge and prepared absolutely deliciously. The beer mugs are also really fun. We would have even more money there. They were a bit short on staff, but would be happy to come back at any time.

The feeling of the Middle Ages comes across really well. The language of the waiters as well as the clothing and the ambience speak for themselves. The building looks inconspicuous from the outside but the first impression is deceptive. The furnishings are richly detailed in the Middle Ages, chandeliers with candles, old-fashioned wooden tables with holes for the drinks cups and the employees' clothes, really great! We were there for a knight's dinner through Jochen Schweitzer. It is highly recommended! The service is great, the food is delicious and I've already raved about the ambience. Price-performance is more than top. If you're ever in the corner, you definitely have to stop by here! A little tip for everyone who makes the knight's meal: Don't eat anything the day before and leave out the horn mead before the main course. If you're looking for something special, you've come to the right place! Top experience restaurant in a medieval atmosphere. We have already eaten here with a few groups and will definitely come back!!

We were blinded by the good reviews. The restaurant itself is rustically furnished. Unfortunately we had a table right at the entrance with constant walking and unrest.  At the beginning the waiters were attentive and we were served quickly, but we had to wait for the dessert order and the bill. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. Once you cut off the wobbly layer of fat from the sliced ​​suckling pig, you were left with a tiny piece of meat. I was expecting a crispy suckling pig. The mashed potatoes and the savoy cabbage were ok, although the taste was rather bland and unspectacular. The second meal was the beef skewer. Of the 5 pieces of meat, 2 were so full of tendons and cartilage that they were impossible to cut. The other 3 pieces were dry fried. The vegetables and potatoes served with it were simply cooked without any seasoning and also tasted boring and bland. All in all, it was unfortunately a negative experience for us. The historical interior alone does not make a good restaurant.

This restaurant is a real experience. It's not primarily about the food which was good but not extraordinary but the whole experience. The staff is dressed in medieval costumes and our waiter fully played the role which made it even more authentic. Everything is decorated wonderfully and they didn't even use any electric lights but only real candles. Our family really enjoyed the visit. The suckling was really good. The spare ribs were okay but I've had better.

It was super tasty. Had the venison loin steak. Was to fall in love with. The ambience was very cool. It was a bit too warm and the service took a long time. Two operations are simply not enough. But finding service staff is difficult, hence 5 stars.

Before our visit on June 1st, 2024, we asked twice whether the show would take place: the first time it was still uncertain, but this was confirmed two days before. We were advised to take the Luther feast, as the spectacle (10 thalers per person) would relate to it. - Unfortunately there was no drama at all :-/ Instead a minstrel played a few songs. We would have preferred to choose individually from the extensive menu! - We should have been given 5 thalers per person for the unusual piece!!! - The atmosphere was good, the food was delicious and especially the cupbearer with glasses served us well and amused us with quick sayings :-)

Food like in old times We have been back here for years. The service and ambience are still absolute madness. There were 11 of us here and we chose the big Lutheran feast and actually with a drama. Food was absolutely sufficient and very tasty. Unfortunately the juggler was ill and the show was canceled. I know it from previous meals and think it would have rounded off the evening, but everyone gets sick sometimes. All in all, the employees tried very hard to create a balance. We spent around 50 euros per person, which was absolutely justified for the variety of food and service. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a special meal.

I am absolutely thrilled with this restaurant! The food was delicious, I immediately felt welcome. It's clear that everything takes a little longer when a waiter runs the whole place and he gets my utmost respect for that! (We are looking for staff, anyone who complains and thinks they can do it better is welcome to apply?) The waiter did a great job, gave good advice and always had an entertaining saying on his lips, even though the whole restaurant was full. The food was delicious from starter to dessert and the atmosphere was great. My intolerances were also taken into account. It doesn't get any better. Tip: don't wear more than one T-shirt, it gets very warm from the candles :)

I almost never write negative reviews... but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. We sat down in the beer garden - where, by the way, there was nothing going on. The card arrived relatively quickly and is visually an eye-catcher. Afterwards, however, we waited for over 20 (!) minutes and not even a drink order was taken. Nothing. The service employee was visibly annoyed when he brought the card. Even a smile and casual words on our part couldn't make things better. Of course, everyone can have a bad day, but waiting for over 20 minutes and not being able to order a drink, let alone food, is a real shame. And that even though nothing was going on. We actually just left.

Everything fits here! Gladly again. I reserved a table online using the booking system implemented on the homepage and asked for a nice decoration for the wedding anniversary. The reception in the restaurant was friendly and you were shown to the table, which was really beautifully themed. When asked whether we liked the table, we could only answer in the affirmative. The entire restaurant has a medieval design and the two gentlemen who serve are dressed accordingly. The food is of high quality and cannot be beaten in terms of taste. The Black Angus steak was perfectly cooked and, at around 5 cm thick, was slightly pink and butter-tender throughout. Respect for this gourmet achievement! In terms of price, the restaurant is in the upper midfield. Considering the high quality of the food, I'm happy to pay the corresponding price. If you don't want that, you should go to McDonald's. Conclusion: great restaurant, nice staff, great atmosphere and high quality! Gladly again!

Man sollte allerdings viel Hunger mitbringen, die Portionen sind eigentlich fast zu groß (ggf. die Portion etwas kleiner halten, Food Waste ist einfach nicht sooo toll). Es war einfach lecker, der Service war super und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat mehr als gestimmt. Portionen etwas verkleinern und es ist perfekt. Klare Empfehlung.

We were there in June 2022. There were no vegetarians in Luther's time, I thought to myself as I bit into a piece of meat in the potato soup, which the waitress said was made especially for vegetarians. That was just one of the evening's faux pas. We celebrated my father's 50th birthday. He had fulfilled his wish to travel with all of us from the Rhineland to spend the night in Eisenach and dine in this restaurant. He had written back and forth for days about the menu and especially the vegetarians. After it was apparently unclear what meatless meant, one of the waiters was also unaware of the technical jargon on the in-house menu. Instead of a "fairy kiss", we had to order cherry beer, which spoiled the flavor a bit. For the main course, a lot of different things were served, but little was served by individuals (e.g. a potato dumpling for 6 people) and when we ordered a second potato dumpling, we were handed bread rolls. A black beer was sold as cola (fortunately not to a child). The drinks sometimes had to be ordered several times before they were served. As we played the games we had thought up for the birthday child, we were interrupted with the question of when the main course could be cleared away so that dessert could be served. We interrupted our program for the local boss's more intense program. Maybe it was common behavior in society back then. However, all of this would have been manageable; the highlight was the payment process. My father was given a voucher for the Luther Rooms worth €50.00. He showed the confirmation email with the order number and they replied that they could not search for order numbers and therefore the voucher could not be found in the program. End of trouble. He was even accused of trying to cheat (which is necessary given the amount you pay when you're just taking on the bill for the entire evening). He could show the voucher if he found the original. With a three-digit turnover for 20 people, there is no need for goodwill or customer loyalty. After all, these are words that didn’t exist back then. Such a great location with tons of potential and delicious food and drinks and then such poor execution. It would have been better to invest the money locally in a restaurant that wouldn't have had the aftertaste of disappointment.

Despite reservations and the restaurant being moderately full, we had to wait an hour for the food. The food was no longer hot and a guest was completely forgotten. The taste of the dishes we ordered was ok. (not a culinary revelation, but no one expected that!) and plenty too. The staff is genuinely trying, but obviously overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the really interesting ambience and presentation do not make up for the shortcomings. Overall not recommended.

My work colleagues and I went to the Lutherstuben specifically to eat suckling pig. Unfortunately the evening was a complete failure. At first there were a lot of problems with coordination with the restaurant. You weren't called back and there was always someone else on the phone, which led to a lot of misunderstandings. The suckling pig was not even remotely crispy/as you would imagine. So the skin wasn't edible, which is actually the best thing about it. Under the skin there was a thick layer of fat that you couldn't eat. There wasn't much meat left on the 10 kg sow that we had to cut ourselves. Luckily we had also booked the barbecue buffet, otherwise we would all have gone home hungry. After several discussions, the management gave us €10 discount per person + a free drink, which in my opinion was the minimum. In the end, everyone paid almost €50 for the evening, which, despite the discount, was still far too much. The service and atmosphere were otherwise appropriate. Nevertheless, I and my colleagues will no longer set foot in the Luther Rooms.

Were just in the room as a reward after a hike. Rarely have we experienced such perfect service! We had to wait a bit, and even though we got there earlier than planned, we got free beer and schnapps on the house. The food was super tasty and cooked to perfection. The basement was a dream and fits in perfectly with its funny sayings. The atmosphere is unique...We live 3 hours away but I can imagine coming again! A perfect evening! Thank you very much!

Wir sind total enttäuscht von dem Essen, der Bedienung, wobei diese sicherlich auch überfordert sind. Wir hatten um 20.30 Uhr gebucht, mussten 1 Std warten und uns den Tisch noch selber organisieren. Die Gänsekeule mit Blaukraut wurde lauwarm serviert , wir ließen sie zurückgehen und bekamen sie dann 15 min später etwas wärmer als vorher wieder. Alles in allem war der Besuch in den Lutherstuben einfach nur enttäuschend. Wie kamen uns vor wie eine Nr. die durchgeschleust wurde. Wir können dieses Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen.

We had the 5 course candlelight dinner. The ambience was medieval, as promised. The music went well with it. The table decoration was romantic with real roses and rose petals. Everything was done very lovingly. We were really surprised by the amount we were served per course. We were expecting much smaller portions. Therefore the price-performance ratio here is simply amazing!!! The food was very tasty. Everything freshly prepared and well thought out. You just can't complain. It was absolutely delicious 🥰 The service was attentive, humorous and extremely nice. We felt very comfortable and will definitely recommend this experience or even give it as a gift. Conclusion: Clear recommendation for anyone who wants a romantic evening with a great ambience, friendly and funny service, excellent food and a special experience. Thank you very much. We were there today for the candle light dinner (5 courses). There was a friendly and amusing saying as a welcome. There was also a welcome apple schnapps on the table. The table itself was beautifully prepared and the whole ambience was more than appealing. The service was attentive and quite amusing (in a good way). There was always enough time between courses to let things sink in. The portions themselves were very generous and everything was more than tasty (a top cuisine). The prices here are more than fair. We can only more than recommend a visit here. So I would like to go out to eat more often. Thank you for the lovely evening.

An experience restaurant in the truest sense. It is made in antiquity. The waitress is dressed like that and talks like that too. Only candles are burning, so don't forget your cell phone. A jump in Medieval age at Luther's time. It was easy to imagine to be at that time in this detailed evocative place. Local beer and food, excellent. If you are around this place, i suggest you to try this experience.

Wir waren etwas zu früh vor Ort....sind dann hinein gelassen worden und standen mit 20 anderen Gästen wie bestellt und nicht abgeholt im Vorraum. Bedienung war super freundlich und flott.. Essen war sehr lecker ...jedoch hatten wir am Nachbartisch eine 5 köpfige Familie, die der Meinung war, das komplette Restaurant mit einer unverschämten Lautstärke erfüllen zu müssen, dass alle anderen Gäste entsetzt und total genervt waren. Anstatt diese Leute in die Schranken zu weisen, hat der Chef als Entschuldigung dafür, dass die Herren ihr Essen etwas zu spät bekommen haben,auch noch etwas aufs Haus ausgegeben. Wir waren froh,nach 1,5 h das Restaurant wieder verlassen zu können. So ein ekelhaftes Benehmen haben wir noch nie erlebt... Was ebenfalls sehr anstrengend ist, die Karte bei dieser Beleuchtung zu lesen. Jeder hat mit seinem Handy versucht, Licht zu machen. Einmal ausprobiert aber nicht noch einmal.

Hotelzimmer in Ordnung. Frühstück grandios. Essen beim 3Gängemenü und beim Ritteressen leider kalt. Leider auch im Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht so toll. Beim Ritteressen unheimlich laut. Eine vernünftige Unterhaltung war nicht möglich. Ambiente als Ritterstube in Ordnung. (inclusive Spinnweben). Bedienung sehr nett, leider zu wenig. Sind mit der Masse an Gästen überfordert. Natürlich muss die Gaststätte Geld verdienen, aber ich denke das Lokal war einfach zu voll. Wir waren mehrere Leute und keiner würde das Hotel nochmals buchen.

Wir waren dort gestern zur Firmenweihnachtsfeier und es war sehr voll. Das Personal schien sehr überfordert zu sein, was sich auf die Wartezeit für Trinken und Essen widerspiegelte. Für Getränke war die Wartezeit bei einer guten Stunde. Die Luft war sehr verbraucht und durch den Grilltisch wurde es nicht besser. Ich finde, wenn man sowas anbietet, sollte man dafür einen extra Raum haben. Uns haben teilweise die Augen gebrannt und getränt. Das Essen war eigentlich sehr lecker, leider aber auch kalt. Als wir am Gehen waren, bekamen wir auch mit, wie der Chef die Angestellten zusammengefaltet hatte, was man überhaupt nicht in der Öffentlichkeit machen sollte und wenn dann im Hinterraum und in einem anderem Ton. Das einzigste Positive war der Musiker Max.

Es war sehr schön ein tolles Erlebnis und lecker essen. Wir hatten viel Spaß.

Wir hatten ein Candle light dinner über einen mydays Gutschein eingelöst und waren total begeistert. Das ist Erlebnisgastronomie ... speisen wie zu Luthers Zeiten. Aufgrund des Gutscheins hatten wir ein Drei-Gänge-Menü und konnten aus zwei Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten wählen. Es war alles super lecker. Das einzige Manko war, dass das Hauptgericht für unseren Geschmack zu kalt war. Nichtsdestotrotz kehren wir ganz bestimmt wieder hier ein, auch ohne Gutschein 😊

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Ambiente einfach toll. Service und Personal sind einfach nett und freundlich. Auch das Essen ist vom Geschmack sehr gut. Punkte Abzug gibt es nur, weil das Essen kalt war. Und als Gast muss es einen auch gestattet sein das zu äußern. Mein Eindruck war, das man damit nicht gut umgehen konnte. Trotz allem war es ein schöner Abend und ich würde auch wieder hingehen.

Gelungener Abend mit Lutherschmaus

Man muss zumindest am Wochenende reservieren. Es ist wohl oft sehr voll und laut. Eben ein Erlebnisrestaurant. Die Getränke werden in tönernen Bechern und Krügen serviert. Das Essen ist sehr fleischlastig, aber es gibt eine kleine vegetarische Auswahl. Vegan ist eher schwierig.

Sehr schönes Ambiente startete auch sehr viel versprechend, mit dem großen Lutherschmaus, dann mussten wir leider 1,5 Stunden auf die Hauptspeise warten und bekamen erst um 21.30 Uhr unser Abendessen da man uns vergessen hatte und wir mußten noch 3 mal nachfragen bis das Essen überhaupt kam. Essen war dann auch noch kalt. Leider wurde von Seiten der Gastger hier nicht mal irgendwas dazu gesagt. Sehr schade War ein Geschenk und sollte ein schöner Abend werden.

Mittelalterfeeling mit leichten Schwächen bei Geschmack und Service. Essen bei Kerzenschein ist wohl Geschmackssache, aber ich sehe gerne vorher, was ich speise.

Wir waren gestern Abend mit 7 Leuten dort Essen. Ambiente, Begrüßung und Bedienung nett. Gleich zum Anfang, was für eine nervige laute Musik!! Nichts für eine gemütliche Unterhaltung. Getränke bestellt, Saftschorle 0,5 und Bier 0,5 kosten 6 Euro. Stattlich! Wozu der Schmalz auf dem Tisch stand blieb ungeklärt, das versprochene Brot kam leider nie an. Lag vielleicht auch daran das die 2 Bedienungen bei dem vollem Lokal völlig überlastet waren. Die Speisenbestellung gestaltete sich etwas schwieriger, da die unhandlich Karte bei dem Licht eher schlecht zu lesen war. Ich hatte die Rippchen bestellt die kein Highlight waren. Hart und gingen kaum vom Knochen ab. Von der Menge her darfst du da keinen Hunger haben. Der Rest vom Essen war okay. Portionen sind eher klein dafür die Preise eher hoch. Alles in allem, nett gemacht aber wir gehen nicht nochmal hin.

Das Essen ist der Hammer. Freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Das Ambiente ist im großen und ganzen gut,aber für meinen Geschmack etwas zu dunkel.

Wir haben uns vom Lutherschmaus etwas mehr versprochen

Wirklich ein Erlebnis! Tolles Ambiente, super Service, sehr unterhaltsam und das Hirschrückensteak war köstlich! Einziger Kritikpunkt: die steigende Temperatur mit Fortschreiten des Abends. Mehr lüften, dann ist alles super :)
