Christmas in the Luther Rooms, DISASTER! Waited 1.5 hours for the food, asked for drinks for the first time after 30 minutes, the food went well but not 4 stars... Not a second time...unfortunately failed 😕

It was food like in Luther's time. And that's nothing for me anymore.

The ambience and food were really good! BUT: The main course was only served after 2.5 hours and during this time there was exactly 1 drink, which is really poor, it ruins everything else that was nice! If you put so many people in one room then things definitely have to be quicker!

Unfortunately we were totally unlucky. We had reserved well in advance as we were also hotel guests. After a while of waiting, we were shown to our table in the hotel's breakfast room. That wasn't the problem, it became annoying that we weren't served, after half an hour we asked who we could order from... well the order was taken, but nothing came... after a while We asked if we wanted anything else....🙈we then mentioned that we hadn't received anything yet. I know there is stress, but the lack of interest in the conditions was unacceptable. The restaurant itself is great.

The Luther feast was okay. We had booked with Lutherschauspiel, this is described on the homepage completely differently than it is ultimately presented! At our meal there was a minstrel who mainly explained and played his musical instruments.

We made reservations online for a birthday party. Unfortunately, even though we arrived on time, our table was occupied by other guests. The error has not been corrected either. The impudence of the other guests to sit at a table that doesn't match your reservation makes you even more angry. After the mishap was resolved with a solution, the dissatisfaction continued throughout the evening. The service was very competent and friendly. The food was served at times with longer breaks and was partly cold. The atmosphere was great and we felt very comfortable. If the rest had worked it might have been an even nicer evening. For the size of the restaurant, perhaps a few more employees wouldn't be a bad idea. Price performance is okay.

Class reunion for a Luther feast with a spectacle. Everything fits together in this restaurant, the atmosphere for this special evening was almost contemporary. There were holes in the table for the drink cups, really rustic. Only candles as a light source, which also makes it very romantic. The waitress's clothing and language seemed like they were from the 16th century. The meal consisted of four courses. A wild herb salad with a fantastic dressing, the starter was either meat soup or potato soup, my potato soup was very tasty and those who ate the meat soup also praised it very much. The main course consisted of a long skewer with different types of meat, as well as a very long bratwurst. The meat was a bit bland and the bratwurst was a bit too light for me, but it was very well seasoned. There were many filling and vegetable side dishes, all of which were homemade and tasted great. Dessert was a long skewer with various pieces of fruit coated in sugar and brandy and set on fire. That was quite a feast for the eyes. This was also extremely tasty. As a highlight, a large horn with mead was served, which is of course not for sensitive souls. We all took part in it. It was very funny. The spectacle was performed by an artist who focuses specifically on the 16th century. He played historical instruments and sang old drinking songs. He also had a lot of interesting facts to report from the time. The price was reasonable for the service offered. An evening like this is definitely recommended.

Interesting and cozy, food very different in quality, service a bit overwhelmed.

Mega location, super delicious food and the service was very friendly and accommodating. We were there for a candlelight dinner and, in addition to a great starter and dessert, we had a delicious rump steak with grilled potatoes and grilled vegetables. We'll definitely be back.

A wonderful atmosphere was created by candlelight. The waitress, some in historical garb, served treats that Martin Luther would have enjoyed excellently and gave us a magical evening. Even the restaurant's toilets had a special flair

What a fantastic evening! From the service to the delicious food, everything is simply top! The food is rich or very sumptuous. We didn't finish everything and took the rest home with us. If you're in Eisenach, I should definitely stop by.

We called at short notice (30 minutes in advance) and were actually lucky. Service was super friendly, food was very good and the atmosphere was unique. No artificial light, like in Ritter's time ;). A very nice experience we had there. Even the toilets are great 🤣

Had a voucher for a knight's dinner with Jochen Schweizer and what can I say? We were overwhelmed, be it the ambience, the service or the food 😳😍 you felt like you were in the Middle Ages, it was just really beautiful and definitely recommended!!!

Das Ambiente ist schön. Es gibt kein Licht sondern nur Kerzen. Die Speisekarte konnte man nur richtig lesen mit Handylicht. Das Essen war ein Reinfall. Die Spieße lauwarm und das Fleisch so hart, das man es kaum kauen konnte. Auf unsere Beschwerde, kam zwar eine Entschuldigung und das Angebot auf einen Schnaps….. aber was ist das für eine Gegenleistung? Zudem war es so laut, das eine Unterhaltung am Tisch nicht möglich war. Ein Erlebnis der negativen Art war das für uns. Wir gehen auf alle Fälle nicht mehr hin und sind hungrig nach Hause gegangen. Viel Bla und absolut kein Blubb!

The experience is MEGA! Simply brilliant for the price. There were 7 of us and we paid little. Our waiter was super personable and in his role <3. Unfortunately, the colleague was rather cold. The atmosphere is very medieval, just a bit very warm... We'd love to come back.

A very rustic, stylish restaurant. You immediately feel like you've been transported back to the time of Martin Luther. The ambience with only candlelight is very successful. The drinks and food could really have been served in Luther's time. Very, very tasty food.

We've eaten here twice now! The food was always very good and tasty! The service is always good! The ambience is amazing, just like in the Middle Ages, highly recommended for anyone who likes that sort of thing and likes good German food!

We were on a visit to Eisenach. Stopped here to eat. We all had the little Luther meal. And left the restaurant almost bursting. The ambience and service is unique. We always felt well looked after and entertained. You have to stop here if you are on vacation in Eisenach

Reserved weeks ago, by phone and email. We reserved the old Luther room and were seated in the breakfast room. We couldn't enjoy the ambience. As a consolation, the first round of drinks was free. Ordered food: the potatoes were cold, the applesauce at the children's meal was... It was better there, we won't be coming back

The hospitality here is on point, always concerned about everyone's well-being. A young team that has embraced medieval traditions well. Food wonderful and plentiful, there are also several vegetarian alternatives on the menu. A must for fans of medieval ambience, the visit is definitely worth it for everyone else. The restaurant was busy on Saturday evening and reservations are recommended. I still got a place on my own.

The food was simply amazing! We each had a dish with chanterelles and an extra request could be fulfilled without any problems. If you go, you should bring plenty of time with you, as the food is freshly prepared and the service staff is not super fast. But you make up for it with your charm. We weren't there because of the 'experience' but because of the good cuisine and it was really worth it! (The worst experience is the toilets there anyway 😅) The most unpleasant thing for my companion and me were the other guests who spoke disparagingly about the employees. They all did a great job! Thank you for the successful evening!

We were spontaneously sent back in the time machine and found ourselves in a cozy guest room by candlelight. There was a good selection of food and, in our opinion, very high-quality products were served on the plate and the plates were also well filled. Disappointing experience – Overpriced and poorly organized The visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. The evening started with a salad that was served with no dressing at all - dry and tasteless. The waiting times between courses were simply unreasonable at 45 minutes and suggest massive organizational problems in the kitchen. Another annoyance was the pea soup. Not only did it taste cheap, we also had to pick it up ourselves, and without the spoon that came with it. The main course, a loveless meat skewer without much taste. The dessert was supposed to be the highlight, but it was an absolute failure. An apple soaked in alcohol and drowned in an unreasonable amount of sugar burned at the table - but not in a good way. The whole thing was completely over-sweetened and really inedible. We ended up having to pay 100 euros for two people, which was completely excessive considering the poor quality of the food and the poor service. A spectacle was announced, but what was spectacular was the disappointment and the grossly exorbitant billing. I can absolutely not recommend this restaurant and will definitely not visit it again, which is also due to the fact that our complaint was not addressed at all and simply never got back to us. One star because none is impossible - an absolute six.

A great experience! You sit in a relatively dark, authentically furnished restaurant and drink and eat like in Luther's time in the 17th century. The service was very friendly, but since there was a lot going on, they both seemed a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. The crème brulé was also perfect.

We treated ourselves to the candle light dinner with a Maydays voucher and there was light and shadow. The ambience is TOP and simply great, from the guest room to the toilets (which you should definitely see 😀) The service staff is also very nice, friendly and has fun with their sayings! But here we also find the first point of criticism: one person is simply not enough for the size of the restaurant! In the end I just felt sorry for the waiter because I am a trained hotel manager myself. Kitchen staff had to help out in the end because there was too much going on even on Thursday evening and that ruined the great atmosphere at some point. This urgently needs to be improved!!! At the beginning there was an apple schnapps, which was good, and with the menu a white wine, which was also OK. The only thing I can say about the food is the menu, which is available as 3 or 4 courses (see pictures) and there are also differences in how it is served compared to the ala carte. We had plates like mine with the roulade, ala carte comes in a pan. Unfortunately, the food is also light and shade, salad is good, but not enough dressing, the main course is unfortunately only average, it just lacks pizzazz, roulade lacks seasoning, and the dumplings and red cabbage are probably more finished than homemade. My wife had the pike perch, which was good and the sauce too, but unfortunately the risotto was nothing, half through the other half was still half uncooked and there was no trace of schlonzig and the spices were also very poor. We were very surprised at the dessert, lava cake, crème brûlée and mango sorbet 😘🥰 (I would guess that it was bought in, but of a very good quality, so everything was okay and also very tasty, for us the best part of the meal) Drinks were okay too, blueberry wine, a water and a Pils 0.5 for €15 It was a nice evening, yes, but there was also criticism at the neighboring tables about the ala carte, cold food and unfortunately in the end you had to wait a long time. Since we were on vacation it didn't matter to us in the end, but it could still be improved significantly. Thanks to the staff who unfortunately have to implement the concept with too little planning and as a result a lot falls by the wayside. Please improve the number in the service, the poor guy must be able to sell your concept with joy because he is TOP!!!!!

A really great old-fashioned atmosphere... Yesterday we had a Luther meal that was very extensive. It was a lot and tasty... There are generally a lot of different delicious dishes on offer!! A place to really recommend.

To get us in the mood, without asking, we were given half a loaf of bread and dips, plus an apple schnapps, delicious. My main course - ox cheeks - was delicious. It's been a long time since I've eaten something so tasty. The ambience is rustic, medieval, in keeping with the name. It all fits together. The prices are very moderate, not to say inexpensive. Everything is just right. We had a 5 course candlelight dinner. Portions are so generous that we were unfortunately only able to eat a fraction of the main course. Location absolutely recommended.6

Great restaurant, really cleverly decorated and great ambience. The farmer's skewer was huge and prepared absolutely deliciously. The beer mugs are also really fun. We would have even more money there. They were a bit short on staff, but would be happy to come back at any time.

Price-performance is more than top. If you're ever in the corner, you definitely have to stop by here! A little tip for everyone who makes the knight's meal: Don't eat anything the day before and leave out the horn mead before the main course. I'm a good eater but I really enjoy half a liter of mead skin before the main course. I was stuffed and drunk - even before the main course

We were blinded by the good reviews. The restaurant itself is rustically furnished. Unfortunately we had a table right at the entrance with constant walking and unrest.  At the beginning the waiters were attentive and we were served quickly, but we had to wait for the dessert order and the bill. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. Once you cut off the wobbly layer of fat from the sliced ​​suckling pig, you were left with a tiny piece of meat. I was expecting a crispy suckling pig. The mashed potatoes and the savoy cabbage were ok, although the taste was rather bland and unspectacular. The second meal was the beef skewer. Of the 5 pieces of meat, 2 were so full of tendons and cartilage that they were impossible to cut. The other 3 pieces were dry fried. The vegetables and potatoes served with it were simply cooked without any seasoning and also tasted boring and bland. All in all, it was unfortunately a negative experience for us. The historical interior alone does not make a good restaurant.

It was super tasty. Had the venison loin steak. Was to fall in love with. The ambience was very cool. It was a bit too warm and the service took a long time. Two operations are simply not enough. But finding service staff is difficult, hence 5 stars.

This restaurant is a real experience. It's not primarily about the food which was good but not extraordinary but the whole experience. The staff is dressed in medieval costumes and our waiter fully played the role which made it even more authentic. Everything is decorated wonderfully and they didn't even use any electric lights but only real candles. Our family really enjoyed the visit. The suckling was really good. The spare ribs were okay but I've had better.

Before our visit on June 1st, 2024, we asked twice whether the show would take place: the first time it was still uncertain, but this was confirmed two days before. We were advised to take the Luther feast, as the spectacle (10 thalers per person) would relate to it. - Unfortunately there was no drama at all :-/ Instead a minstrel played a few songs. We would have preferred to choose individually from the extensive menu! - We should have been given 5 thalers per person for the unusual piece!!! - The atmosphere was good, the food was delicious and especially the cupbearer with glasses served us well and amused us with quick sayings :-)

Food like in old times We have been back here for years. The service and ambience are still absolute madness. There were 11 of us here and we chose the big Lutheran feast and actually with a drama. Food was absolutely sufficient and very tasty. Unfortunately the juggler was ill and the show was canceled. I know it from previous meals and think it would have rounded off the evening, but everyone gets sick sometimes. All in all, the employees tried very hard to create a balance. We spent around 50 euros per person, which was absolutely justified for the variety of food and service. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a special meal.

I am absolutely thrilled with this restaurant! The food was delicious, I immediately felt welcome. It's clear that everything takes a little longer when a waiter runs the whole place and he gets my utmost respect for that! (We are looking for staff, anyone who complains and thinks they can do it better is welcome to apply?) The waiter did a great job, gave good advice and always had an entertaining saying on his lips, even though the whole restaurant was full. The food was delicious from starter to dessert and the atmosphere was great. My intolerances were also taken into account. It doesn't get any better. Tip: don't wear more than one T-shirt, it gets very warm from the candles :)

I almost never write negative reviews... but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. We sat down in the beer garden - where, by the way, there was nothing going on. The card arrived relatively quickly and is visually an eye-catcher. Afterwards, however, we waited for over 20 (!) minutes and not even a drink order was taken. Nothing. The service employee was visibly annoyed when he brought the card. Even a smile and casual words on our part couldn't make things better. Of course, everyone can have a bad day, but waiting for over 20 minutes and not being able to order a drink, let alone food, is a real shame. And that even though nothing was going on. We actually just left.

Everything fits here! Gladly again. I reserved a table online using the booking system implemented on the homepage and asked for a nice decoration for the wedding anniversary. The reception in the restaurant was friendly and you were shown to the table, which was really beautifully themed. When asked whether we liked the table, we could only answer in the affirmative. The entire restaurant has a medieval design and the two gentlemen who serve are dressed accordingly. The food is of high quality and cannot be beaten in terms of taste. The Black Angus steak was perfectly cooked and, at around 5 cm thick, was slightly pink and butter-tender throughout. Respect for this gourmet achievement! In terms of price, the restaurant is in the upper midfield. Considering the high quality of the food, I'm happy to pay the corresponding price. If you don't want that, you should go to McDonald's. Conclusion: great restaurant, nice staff, great atmosphere and high quality! Gladly again!

Man sollte allerdings viel Hunger mitbringen, die Portionen sind eigentlich fast zu groß (ggf. die Portion etwas kleiner halten, Food Waste ist einfach nicht sooo toll). Es war einfach lecker, der Service war super und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat mehr als gestimmt. Portionen etwas verkleinern und es ist perfekt. Klare Empfehlung.

Wir haben sehr gut gegessen und die Atmosphäre ist ist mal was anderes. Hat uns gut gefallen. Das Personal und der Chef sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
