Cozy atmosphere, casual, friendly guests, friendly staff

The man simply has a knack for cooking. Vegetables and meat perfectly on point, every time. Good portions at fair prices. I especially enjoy coming here at lunchtime.

Unfortunately the food we ordered was disgusting, the chicken fillet chop suey smelled very bad and you couldn't eat it at all, the fried rice was "just" tasteless. It's a shame, we were happy with the restaurant for many years.

Reviews are deleted because the restaurant cannot handle criticism. Instead of improving its service.

It took a while, but great taste and a very nice owner

Good canteen, within walking distance of several institutes. A good alternative to the Mensa Vita. There are delicious daily specials and of course the usual canteen classics (currywurst fries €3.90, as of November 2022). The staff is super friendly and special requests are usually fulfilled if the company allows it. Often very crowded at lunchtime in rainy weather. Addendum from February 2023: Currywurst fries are now €4.50

New owners, new offer, no longer Vietnamese, but burgers, noodles, Arabic, Syrian dishes - very tasty, different in taste than usual, you should definitely try it

Large selection of sushi, everything still available even in the late afternoon. Fresh and tasty, the bowls are also really good. I can only recommend.

Breakfast buffet with the family, rich selection and very tasty. Various types of rolls, bread, croissants etc., eggs in various forms, bacon, meatballs, sausages, fruit, cold cuts of meat and cheese, a glass of orange juice included, and all in one rustic rooms with a feel-good character. Typical German cuisine is served. Food is good but nothing to rave about. Atmosphere is good and is one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Beware they only take cash-no cards accepted.

I visited the Pompei restaurant in Laurensberg. The restaurant was busy and the noise level was correspondingly high. In addition, in the restaurant a really excellent Zaballione was always whipped with a whisk in a metal bowl. If necessary, you could do this in the kitchen so that it is a little quieter. There were two ladies and a gentleman serving. Apparently they appeared to be the tenants and an employee. The employee was friendly. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the other two. They seemed latently annoyed and arrogantly disinterested. Even when we left the restaurant, we weren't greeted back (although they registered it), and they didn't even turn to us. What can I say... They are lucky to live off their good food. Certainly not from their warm hospitality. Now for the positive The food was Mediterranean, varied and fresh. It tasted good. The ambience is appealing. Since it also includes a welcoming atmosphere for me, I probably won't come back. It's actually a shame! Maybe the two will reconsider their behavior. It would be well-intentioned advice. Then the restaurant would be great!
