We (as a couple) stayed at a hotel in Munich on May 25. Looking for a nearby beer garden, we came across the Gartenoase. Since I used to live in Bavaria, I found everything very quaint and cozy. The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately, they were more concerned with themselves and chatting than checking to see if anyone wanted to order.
We were just passing through and stopped in spontaneously. The service was super friendly and attentive.
The food was very, very good. We also thought the price was really fair.
We went to the BarrelHouse before the basketball game and were absolutely thrilled! The spare ribs are absolutely recommended! Nice and tender, deliciously marinated. The portions were generous, too! The sides were also good, though I would have preferred a bit more of the American version of the coleslaw, but it was still delicious.
After about 1 hour and 10 minutes of waiting, our food arrived, with a stated waiting time of 20-45 minutes. Neither from the restaurant itself (after a call after more than an hour) nor from the driver was there any apology for the delay, which was at least something that could have been expected in such a situation. The food was all soggy, soggy and at most lukewarm, the taste was therefore no longer outstanding and it was boring. Nothing I would eat at again after such a first impression.
The menu features a wide variety of dishes, both Bavarian and Croatian. Seasonal dishes (currently asparagus) are also offered. The restaurant has a family atmosphere, and everyone is very friendly. The food is delicious, and reservations are recommended, as it gets very busy after 6:00 p.m. We highly recommend this location.
Typical beer garden atmosphere. They also serve typical regional food, including a good selection for vegetarians. Otherwise, there's plenty of meat and delicious beer. You can go here anytime without any problems.
