Hotel Lohmühle in Bayreuth

Great hotel with very good breakfast.

Rooms very advantageously staged. Shower is very small, just ok for people <180cm and less than 80kg, it will be tight for everyone else. Me: 190cm/94kg Breakfast is very good and there is almost everything you need, the staff is friendly.

Clear recommendation. Parking on the property, the old town can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. The room was well maintained and clean. Only the shower was a bit tight. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet style breakfast had a good selection and everything was fresh. I would love to come back here.

Rooms are OK for one night. It's somewhat reminiscent of a youth room in a hostel. However, everything is there. TV bed etc. Wet area: very small shower Breakfast: everything was great Parking lot 🙏 In summary: OK for a quick sleep overnight

Very nice little hotel with very friendly staff and delicious food. The rooms are tastefully furnished with attention to detail.

There were several old bloodstains scattered across the floor in the room, and the floor was also dusty and sandy. Unfortunately, after noticing the problem, the reception was no longer staffed, so we had to spend the night in the room. My request to clarify the matter promptly by phone with management was ignored, despite repeated inquiries. I was simply dismissed with a rude and inappropriate/inaccurate message. The hotel management closed the case with the statement that only two stains had been found (two stains are also two too many) and that my negative review on Booking had meant that they could not accommodate me. Apparently, a personal conversation with the guest was not desired, which I find very regrettable. Aside from this, the room had a musty smell, but due to the noise from the main road and the stream, we were unable to air it out overnight. The breakfast was also fine.

Great breakfast! First hotel worldwide with orientation lighting for the night. Super! Bathroom and especially shower very cramped.

Hotel is recommended, price performance fits, clean, staff top One point deducted because the mattress was a bit sagging.

I stayed there for two nights for work reasons. The hotel is very centrally located, but is still easy to reach by car and has plenty of parking spaces directly on the property. The single room was simple but very well maintained and clean. I felt comfortable there. The breakfast is rich and varied and the staff are always friendly and very helpful. I'll be happy to come back.

The hotel is great. Unfortunately I came for breakfast at 7:15 and all the places had not been tidied up by the previous guests and the staff was sitting in the lounge, which was a bit unfortunate

Pretty basic hotel. No lift, no aircon, very noisy if windows are left open because of the heat since the rooms overlook the bar's outdoors tables. Convenient for the centre.

Family-run hotel with Franconian hospitality, in the center and yet quiet location, flair and ambience, courteous service, attractive rooms with air conditioning and elevator, excellent breakfast, excellent food, parking €5, shuttle to the festival hall, highly recommended!

The Hotel Lohmühle is ideally located for exploring Bayreuth. The hotel has its own parking lot with four options for charging an electric car.

Very friendly, nice family-run hotel in a perfect location. Room not big but sufficient and clean, bathroom functional. The breakfast was good, everything you wanted was there. After the performance in the festival hall, a very good dinner with a large selection and the opportunity to sit outside - as well as for breakfast. The staff is always friendly and helpful. All in all highly recommended and would be happy to come again.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our bike tour. The room is functional, very clean and the beds are very good. The breakfast is excellent, we didn't miss anything. The location to the old town is very good. We were very satisfied and would happily recommend the Lohmühle to others.

Rooms are clean and the price is completely reasonable for the central yet quiet city center location. A visit to the associated restaurant is highly recommended. The meal with dessert was excellent and worth every euro.

Top location between the sports forum and the city center, super friendly, functional rooms. I would book again and again. Be sure to try grandpa's house beer.

I was in town on business. The single room was probably last renovated in the 1990s. The bathroom too. It was clean, no problem, but it was loud because the doors to the rooms slammed by themselves, and the fire door in the hallway was open, so you could hear every person in the hallway. I cannot understand the effusive reviews of the breakfast. It was a good standard, yes, but nothing outstanding either. Some of the employees were surprisingly rude. If I had been there privately, my rating would have been worse.

The parking lot is designed for small cars. I can't say anything about the restaurant, the breakfast was amazing. One of the best I've ever had. The room wasn't that great as it was quite dark. In the bathroom, a few minutes after turning on the light, there was a humming noise in a transformer. The shower doors don't work properly.

The hotel "with soul", intimate, is located right next to the Old Town. The room was well-kept and clean. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay, the service was very nice, the breakfast was tasty. I RECOMMEND!

What a delightful hotel this is. It used to be an old mill and still has elements of its history. It is close to the centre of town and has its own parking lot (for a small fee). Our refurbished double room above the restaurant faced the street but was very quiet. It was spacious with enough room for two large suitcases, had a desk and small lounge. It was simply but adequately appointed with plenty of power points, storage etc and a wardrobe and hanging space. The beds were very comfortable and the heating was excellent, with the option to open a window. The staff were very friendly and check-in was easy. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and very fresh. But the real surprise was the restaurant. In my humble opinion, it is worthy of a Michelin star. I had the best cream of asparagus soup I have ever had. Followed by sea bream fillets perfectly cooked with a red rice accompaniment, this was a special meal. My wife had the Frankish dish of boiled beef, root vegetables with a potato dumpling. Delicious! Excellent hotel and great value!

Great hotel. Room clean. Unfortunately when checking in there was no indication of no television reception. Later when I complained it was said that the problem had existed for days. WHY? The food in the attached restaurant was very good, which is what you would expect given the prices. I rate breakfast above average.

A beautiful old hotel with charm. The staff are friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the rooms are a bit outdated, and the bathrooms in particular need improvement. The breakfast is particularly delicious with a lot of choice, homemade and vegan options. Just a five minute walk to the city center. Parking spaces are available and cost €5 per night.

I would like to explicitly emphasize the extreme friendliness of the staff towards small children. For various reasons we had to change our reservation several times - it was never a problem. And then we and our one-year-old daughter are not always welcome guests in some hotels and restaurants. Children, especially at this age, cannot always be controlled, even if their parents and those around them may want it. It was all the nicer to see how the Lohmühle acted, helped and supported: from an extra bed in the room for dad to a side room for eating together to special portions of food so that you don't have to order more for the little one unnecessarily. It was a great experience to be treated like that. Therefore: a big recommendation!

Ich habe hier auf meiner Pilgerwanderung von Hof nach Nürnberg Halt gemacht. Zimmer ok. Freundliches inhabergeführtes Restaurant und Hotel. Essen war brennend (Meerrettich). Gute Lage

Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sehr freundliches Personal, das Essen ist sehr lecker. Bei meinen nächsten Besuch in Bayreuth, werde ich dort wieder Essen und Schlafen.

Sehr nette und offene Chefin, ein schönes Zimmer im Dachgeschoss und ein gutes Frühstück - was will man mehr!?😊

Hotel und Restaurant Lohmühle. Sehr schönes Gebäudeensemble im Fachwerkstil. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Freundlichkeit und der Service der Beschäftigten und die Qualität des Essen. Da fahre ich gerne jederzeit wieder hin.

Also ich weiß ja nicht, ob es hier in dem Hotel renovierte und nicht renovierte Zimmer gibt. Aber ich habe in einem Zimmer aus gefühlt den 80er Jahren geschlafen. Sauber war es, aber die besten Jahre hat es eindeutig hinter sich. Würde ich so nicht nochmal buchen. Es muss dringend renoviert werden. Fußläufigkeiten zur Stadt ist super, Essen gut, Personal sehr nett.
