Very tasty food, absolutely recommended

We went there twice in a row. The first time, my food was between lukewarm and warm, but I ate it anyway; it was very good. The second time, my food was almost cold. I complained, and they immediately gave me a warm dish without any compromises. My partner's food was always warm and very good. Overall, a very good meal, great service, and everything was very nice and clean.

You can sit comfortably in the beer garden; the restaurant invites you to linger. Even though it's located quite centrally in the city center, the food is very good, and the service is excellent. I can recommend it.

Great food - very good ambience - unfortunately the wheelchair symbol on Maps is not really correct - the toilets are only accessible via steps - hardly accessible for people with walking difficulties - not accessible for people who cannot walk at all

Very cozy location where we enjoyed a delicious beer, a salad and a sausage-cheese platter. Excellent quality. Definitely recommended.

The mixed salad had unfortunately collapsed, making it soggy and not a visual highlight. The fried potatoes were dripping with grease. The beans and roast beef were average. All in all, a weak three stars.

The Snitchel was absolutely freezing good, the best in Germany so far. The atmosphere was also of guaranteed German quality.

Done last minute trip to berchtesgaden, first night went to golden bear, 2nd night went to go, was closed, my friend who lives in berchtesgaden recommended this place so thought id try, food was absolutely delicious. Went back next afternoon, then went to Königssee, and cane back 4 hours later, there was a band on, even my friend didn't know. Found my new favourite bar in berchtesgaden, shame not open later than 10pm

the best restaurant in this town! my shnicel was very tasty and good, the french fries where also good. but the best part is: they had an entire concert at night with people dancing and great music. its not like any other concert you'd see in a city, it was special for the 1st of may. it looked like a pre-octoberfest festival. the beer there was also good. i reccomend this restaurant a lot

I can deffinitly recomend the place. We had the large salad, one with grilled chichen breast and the other with fried chickem. Both were very good. The wine was also to my taste. Planning to return.

I had roast pork with cabbage and bread dumplings. This was very tasty, the portion was completely ok. Tastes like homemade. A small criticism, the food could have been a little warmer as it was brought to me. The waiter was super nice and friendly. You felt really welcome. The atmosphere is really cozy and authentic to the area, as it should be. You just feel the charm of the area. I can only recommend it and would be happy to come back next time.

We ate at Gasthof Neuhaus twice during our vacation. Even on our first visit we were impressed by the speed. It took 15 minutes from the seating assignment until the food was at the table. The quality of the food was excellent and highly recommended! Overall, a very great restaurant with friendly staff!

A beautifully situated inn with a wonderful view of the Watzmann mountain. The food, ambiance, and service are top-notch. Everyone is very friendly and well-maintained.

We were on vacation in Berchtesgaden for a week. After one evening at the restaurant, we enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time. The food is highly recommended. Absolutely delicious. Great service and friendly people. On March 19, 2025, there was even live music on site, and the owner was there in person to greet all her guests. That's a rare sight these days. We're impressed. For me, as a lover of hearty food, the perfect place. The haxe was a success for me as a non-smoker of almost 2m. But it was also certainly one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating, perfect crust, tender meat and the side dishes, perfect.

During our stay in Berchtesgaden we had the pleasure of eating at Gasthaus Neuhaus - an experience that thrilled us in every way. The traditional inn combines Bavarian cosiness with culinary delights and creates an atmosphere in which you feel comfortable from the first moment. The welcome was warm and authentic, just as you would imagine in a Bavarian inn. The furnishings, a successful mix of rustic charm and stylish cosiness, immediately invited us to linger. The menu offered an excellent selection of regional specialties and we opted for classics of Bavarian cuisine. I chose a juicy roast pork with a perfectly crispy crust, served with delicate bread dumplings and a dark, flavorful sauce that had just the right amount of spice. My wife enjoyed the cheese dumpling soup as a starter, followed by a tender local trout fillet - a dish that impressed with its freshness and delicacy. What was particularly impressive was the quality of the ingredients, which were obviously selected with great care. Every dish was lovingly prepared and served with a smile by the friendly staff. To top it all off, we treated ourselves to homemade Kaiserschmarrn, which was so fluffy and delicious that it made us both swoon. The Gasthaus Neuhaus is a prime example of Bavarian hospitality and culinary excellence. It not only offers excellent food, but also an ambience that celebrates tradition and well-being. For us, the evening was a highlight of our trip - and we will definitely come back on our next visit to Berchtesgaden!

Always worth a visit - great food!

A solid choice when looking for local food & atmosphere in Berchtesgaden. We really enjoyed the celeriac-based soup & the Bratwurst with sauerkraut we ordered.

One ofnthe best restaurants I've been lately. Very nice and cozy place with superb staff. All the best about a man called Patrik who works there, who really felt us like home!

Wir wurden schnell zu unserem Tisch geführt, jedoch waren die Kellner sehr verpeilt und haben Bestellungen verwechselt. Auch unser Essen war eher durchschnitt und für ein Schnitzel mit Pommes für 17€ erwartet man dann schon mehr. Auch die Bayerische Brotzeit war sehr dürftig, jedoch war die Salami in Ordnung und auch der Schinken war sehr leckern!

We recently went here again for dinner and ordered a mixed meal for two people, along with a beer and a specialty. Even on Monday afternoon the whole place was full and we were lucky with the table. The drinks and food were at the table quickly and tasted good, but the meal was so huge that we took more than half of it home with us. Here you get something for your money. In the end we paid €68 with a tip, which is absolutely ok considering the fact that we still had a full meal at home a day later. In addition, the service was very nice.

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Der Gasthof war mehr als gut besucht. Wir bestellten eine Viertel Ente und einen Jungschweinebraten. Die Portion Schweinebraten war reichlich und schmeckte auch gut. Was eine Frechheit war, war die Viertel Ente. Diese war kleiner als ein Viertel Hendl oder kaum größer als eine Wachtel. Mit Sicherheit keine hundert Gramm Fleisch. Ich fragte nach, ob das eine Viertel Ente sein soll. Der Ober erklärte mir mit etwas zögern, ja. Eigentlich hätte man die Ente zurück gehen lassen müssen. Dann wäre der Abend vielleicht noch ärgerlicher geworden. Schade, wenn man im Einkauf ca. einen Euro mehr investiert hätte, wäre der Gast zufrieden gewesen. Aber vermutlich ist es dem Wirt egal, da aufgrund der Lage die Gaststätte sowieso immer voll ist. Sowas kann sich aber auch mal ändern.

The staff at this restaurant were incredibly friendly and provided prompt service, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. As a group of vegetarians, we decided to try a variety of vegetarian options from the menu. The pumpkin soup was a standout—delicious and definitely the highlight of our meal. The vegetarian gnocchi was also a solid choice and quite enjoyable. However, some dishes didn't live up to expectations. The vegetarian burger and potato dumplings were underwhelming in flavor, and the käsespätzle, which I was particularly excited to try, was surprisingly bland and lacked depth. The spinach ravioli was decent, though not remarkable. While I wasn't entirely impressed with the vegetarian offerings, none of the dishes were outright bad. Additionally, the restaurant is conveniently located near the bus stop that takes you directly to Berchtesgaden Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), making it easy to access.

We had a round insulated table for the whole family. The food was excellent and the waiter was particularly friendly. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We were there on our wedding day and had been looking forward to it for months because we have never been disappointed so far. Unfortunately, the pancakes in the soup were sour and the schnitzel with potatoes was dripping with fat. We then canceled the soup but they didn't even apologize. Too bad

Best meal we had on our entire trip. I highly recommend the Neuhaus-Rein. It's a sample platter for two type meal ($52 but feeds 2 people easy, maybe three). It comes with five meats and lots of sides.

After strolling through the Christmas market, the Gasthaus Neubau should be a fine end to our visit to Berchtesgaden. The restaurant was very full, but the service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the kitchen couldn't keep up with the standard. The goulash soup was gray-brown, far from red pepper, and that's how it tasted - gray-brown. The grilled sausages were limp, the sauerkraut was deep in a gray-brown ready-made sauce and had no taste. It's a shame.

Super good, traditional Bavarian inn with very good cuisine! The menu offers Bavarian classics but also seasonal dishes that are definitely authentic and convincing in terms of taste. Definitely a tip if you are traveling in Berchtesgaden.

Very good Bavarian restaurant in the city center, with very tasty food and of course the Hofbräu from Berchtesgaden. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff were very friendly and accommodating even though it was very busy on a Saturday. So we can only recommend it.

If you can't find something to eat on Sunday, you can come to this restaurant to experience traditional German cuisine. The service attitude is excellent and the food is delicious. Among the German restaurants I have eaten at, the saltiness and meat texture are acceptable to Asians. It's a thoughtful dish. Recommend the duck leg meal, the meat is tender, juicy and not dry.

Enjoyed our quick visit here during a tour we were part of. Had a quick snack of sausage and sauerkraut but sitting outside on a sunny day was perfect. Servers were friendly & helpful and food and beer/wine was good - it could have been the perfect weather too but it was an enjoyable experience.

Service was good, very cozy atmosphere with lamb skins and blankets outside. They ran out of pork knuckles (holiday!) so we had beef goulash. Very hearty and huge dish!!
