As always, good music and a first-class “at home” feeling. Now also a veteran for Oberhausen. The beer is first class, so bring time and a good foundation... or just eat here, the kitchen is great too.
By the way: the crew keeps an eye on how well the beer worked. Don't feel stupid about it, they're really thinking about it. If they say it's good - believe it, don't argue.
Towboys beware: If someone is hanging on your arm who doesn't fit in “right”, it will be seen. And that's a good thing! So: stay away! Act like your parents did something too...
Again: Thanks for the great location! - Thank you for looking after your guests!
Addendum: Bob’s is now closed.
For some unknown reason, the above article was criticized and not published. The algorithm is probably just as intellectually overwhelmed as those responsible who dare to think they are intelligent...
Authentic Chinese cuisine with heart and tradition
A visit to this Chinese restaurant is much more than just a meal – it's an experience. The harmonious, refined ambiance invites you to linger, and you immediately sense that decades of experience and true passion are behind it. This family-run business has been in existence for over 40 years, and you can tell – be it in the personal interaction, the service, or the preparation of the dishes.
The food is absolutely fresh, tastes top-notch, and is prepared with great care. Special requests? No problem! Guest satisfaction is clearly the top priority here. The portions are more than sufficient, and the prices are more than fair. Truly excellent value for money.
Another highlight was the friendly conversation with the chef himself – we received some great recommendations and were even looking forward to our next visit: We'll try the homemade tofu, which is prepared according to his own production. This promises to be another culinary highlight!
The only minor drawback is the somewhat tight parking situation around the restaurant. But honestly: Even if you have to park a few minutes away, the journey is worth it in every way.
I highly recommend this restaurant and it's firmly on my list of culinary favorites. Five stars – without question!
As regular Augsburg residents, we actually only came here because a visitor from out of town had chosen the restaurant.
Our concerns about whether you could actually get a good pizza in the tourist hotspot of Maxstraße were unfounded, however, because: We were thrilled!
The atmosphere in the back is truly great; it's like walking down a small alley in Italy. Only the music was a bit too loud for our liking, but it was immediately turned down upon request. The service was simply super friendly.
The pizzas were large, rolled out nice and thin, but still crispy on the bottom. The dough and tomato sauce were exceptionally delicious. Adding or removing ingredients was no problem. The alcoholic drinks were also perfectly mixed.
The only reason we lose a point is that the restaurant no longer offers appetizers and desserts. A salad or something similar would have been great. But we were definitely full.
We'd love to come back!
Tried Sushi, Pho, and Kamo-udon — all were fresh and tasty, especially the sushi. Friendly and quick service, clean space, and a nice atmosphere. Great spot!
I pre-ordered Pad Thai for pickup today. Super friendly service, the food was ready on time, and it tasted amazing! The portion was large, so I even had a little left over. I'd definitely order again!
I really liked it there. The beer brewed there impressed me with its taste. There are probably only a few changing dishes at any given time; they are delicious. The pub is quaint.
Where else can you get duck for €7 these days, and it's cooked so deliciously, too? We go there regularly and get our fill. I find it a shame that the chef always seems a bit grumpy. As for the ambiance, it's actually okay, but the crowd that often sits there makes it feel like a pub with a rather unwelcome atmosphere. We still enjoy coming back.
We haven't even gotten to dinner yet. I requested a table reservation via email 14 days ago, but haven't received a response yet. It's a shame, especially for a "restaurant" like this.
We have dined at Maximilian's a few times and have enjoyed every meal. We took a friend for his birthday, and server Lisa Fediuk was somewhat new at the time. She was nevertheless charming, warm, and was able to explain the menu very well. About one year later later, we went there with my sister and brother-in-law, who are not German speakers, and she was once again our server! Her English was fantastic and her service skills had become even smoother and more refined. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We truly felt attended to and care for!
Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes for a free table. After we were finally seated, it took another 60 minutes for the food to arrive. The order of the dishes was completely out of whack: First came the bruschetta, then two pasta dishes, and then – with a considerable delay – the drinks.
About 15 minutes later, the pizzas were served: one of them had the wrong toppings, one too many. The lasagna only arrived after repeated requests. In the end, everyone got their food at different times – eating together was practically impossible.
The quality of the food was okay, but nothing special. Anyone who considers this restaurant the "best Italian" has probably never experienced good service.
The attached picture shows the portion of spinach and ricotta ravioli – that pretty much says it all.
