Went to a birthday brunch again with 5 friends. Unbeatably good. First I emptied a bottle of Geldermann, then calmly went to the buffet, excellent, something for everyone (a lot of something). Attentive service, poppy and yet conversation at the table is no problem. Absolutely recommended.

I've been to Maximilians for brunch several times, about 2-3 times a year for many years... always great food, which is never the same. Despite the many guests, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is attentive and very friendly. Before brunch, it is also very nice to enjoy a glass of champagne or coffee in the bar or lounge area. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. I'm looking forward to the next visit.

My wife and I spent our Valentine's Day at Maximilians and were able to enjoy a three-course meal. The food was delicious and the service absolutely outstanding. The waiter was very accommodating. The ambience is also very nice. A very relaxed atmosphere. The music was at the perfect volume. We'll definitely be back.

Update February 16, 2025 We had dinner again at 'Maximilians' and were greeted by A. Mei. Culinary accompaniment throughout the evening. The service from Mr. M. was excellent, extremely friendly and very competent. He introduced us to the wines and dishes in detail and his enjoyment of high-quality cuisine also impressed the guests. Extensive breakfast buffet, friendly service and a varied and seasonal evening menu at a high level

I recently had the opportunity to visit Maximilians Restaurant in Augsburg and here is my impression. Starter: We started with the Vitello Tonnato. It was well prepared, the veal was tender and the tuna sauce went well with it. Main course: For the main course we had the Viennese veal schnitzel and the grilled veal flank steak. The schnitzel was crispy and the meat was juicy, which was very pleasant. The flank steak was also well grilled and had a nice flavor. Both dishes were neatly prepared. Dessert: For dessert we chose the Moelleux au Chocolat and the burnt crème. The chocolate cake was warm and melted in the mouth, while the burnt cream had a pleasant sweetness. Wine: We had an Amarone with it, which went well with the food. The wine selection at Maximilians is appealing. Overall, our visit to Maximilians Restaurant was pleasant. The audience was a bit older, probably due to the prices. But you get a very good deal for your money. The service was very good and the atmosphere was cozy. It's a good restaurant for a fine meal in Augsburg without seeming out of touch. An online reservation is recommended.

My husband made a reservation here for the first time today. I have always been very passionate about food and was very excited about the visit. At the entrance we were greeted very warmly and politely asked if we would like to leave our coats in the cloakroom. We were shown to our table, which was reserved specifically for us. The table was clean and neatly set, fresh bread (excellent by the way - I love good bread), salted butter and olives were already ready. We were given good advice about our desire for a good Cremant and my husband tasted it before it was finally poured. We chose a Cremant Rose, which not only went well as an aperitif but also went well with veal and fish. In our opinion ;-) My husband chose a classic Viennese veal schnitzel. Cranberries, buttered potatoes and cucumber salad were served with this. The portion was unexpectedly generous. The breading was perfectly battered, adhered very well to the meat, was very crispy and evenly browned in clarified butter. I was allowed to try it and was pleased that with such tender meat, as with the other side dishes, the natural taste of the great quality was not over-seasoned. Nowadays, people only perceive things as good if they taste like all kinds of spices but no longer like natural products. I got catfish fillet, champagne cabbage, mushroom puree, winter truffles and beurre blance (a foamed sauce with a fine consistency and a powerfully rich brown butter taste). The fish was of course boneless, not dry, perfectly cooked yet shiny inside. Not over-salted and had a subtle taste of its own. The sauce was outrageous and I was glad I had an extra spoon for utensils. The dessert shined once again with an excellent choice of chocolate for the chocolate cake with a liquid center. It melted in your mouth, warm and wonderfully chocolaty. Our waiter was also happy to tell me which chocolate it was. There was also pistachio cream, citrus fruit salad and an outstandingly tangy mandarin sorbet. I would like to point out that since we both look very young, we were often not treated well in restaurants. Here we were served very courteously, received expert advice and were able to fully enjoy the food and our time in the restaurant. Cooking at this level is extremely hard work!!! This is about more than just taste. This is about the perfect cooking time, perfectly bound, shiny sauce, velvety sorbet without crystals, chocolate cakes with the ultimate chocolaty taste and melt. Simply culinary art and fun with pure, clean taste. To anyone who just wants to be full and values ​​quantity more than clean kitchen art, quality and pure taste, I recommend: go somewhere else! We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Warm greetings to our friendly, courteous specialist who served us.

A truly wonderful stay. We cannot recommend this hotel enough, the staff were delightful, the rooms were the definition of luxury and the food/drink superb. Cannot wait to visit again!

Very solid, very fine food. Fine wines with great advice. Fully booked on Saturday evening and therefore quite loud. In this respect, the ambience is 'only' 4/5.

The food was excellent. In addition to the great dishes, we were particularly impressed by the side spinach. The map is clear but everyone found something without any problem. The service was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is very nice. The only small downside was that the waiting time for drinks and food was relatively long because the restaurant was completely full, but we were informed of this in advance.

My wife and I chose the menu. The taste of the food was okay but nothing special in the price category of €200. We ate cheaper and better somewhere else. Unfortunately the portions were a joke and too small so we were still hungry afterwards. It's a shame we had hoped for more.

Absolute Empfehlung für einen schönen Abend mit gutem Essen und zuvorkommendem Personal.

We were guests at Maximilian's today, on Christmas Day. As always, the ambience and service were very nice, courteous and unobtrusively attentive. However, what we had to criticize today - which we also told the restaurant manager at the end - was the quantity of our main course. As we have often done before, we decided on the onion roast with cheese sparrows and a side salad. The quality of the meat, as well as the sparrows, the duo of roasted and fried onions, and the salad did not disappoint us this time either. Unfortunately, this time the portions were unusually small, so both of us, my wife and I, didn't get up full after eating. At a price of 36 € for a portion of onion roast, the expectation must be that one main course is enough to fill you up - especially since, as already described, people were used to this differently in the past and always left the restaurant well-fed.

Great restaurant, our expectations were absolutely met except for the unfortunately very poor espresso. Great, very courteous service. Unfortunately, the espresso that followed was very thin and was probably left out of the large fully automatic coffee machine. That would be our little criticism ;-)

Angenehme Atmosphäre, schönes Ambiente, gutes Essen und sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Waren anschließend noch in der 3 M Bar. Sehr schöne Barkarte mit ausgefallenen Cocktails. Alles nicht ganz günstig. Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

A real disappointment!!! I had a menu, it was served very slowly, sometimes 40 minutes or more passed between courses. Food was lukewarm and very unseasoned. My first course was significantly different from what my friends got. If I asked why it looks like that, I would be told that it is just the way it is. The staff tried hard, but it didn't work!!! The restaurant has an open kitchen. Before we finished dessert, they started cleaning the kitchen. It smelled of damp rags and cleaning products. Conclusion: Overpriced, not tasty and super slow for the price category and not customer oriented. As an example, first course. Right - clever, left - not successful!!!!

Not a hotel guest. Table for two people is very small. Price and performance for the food and drinks are okay. Unfortunately, our service served everywhere and was rarely with us. In the end the card reader was missing (only one!!). Waiting time 10 minutes. Conclusion: the Bar 3m is very good. Then come back here often.

Der Service ist herausragend, überaus freundliches Personal. Vom Essen waren wir nicht ganz überzeugt, die Preise waren für die Qualität der Speisen definitiv zu hoch. Der vegetarische Menü meiner Frau war nicht sehr ausgefallen und konnte auch geschmacklich nicht überzeugen. Mein Filetsteak war gut aber ich hatte auch schon bessere auf dem Teller. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend, aber für das Essen was geboten wurde leider zu teuer.

Wie immer war der Besuch im Maximilian°s hervorragend. Das Essen, die Servicemitarbeiter, das Ambiente - einfach grandios. Auch, dass auf meine Nahrungsmittelallergie Rücksicht genommen wird, finde ich mehr als angenehm. Vielen Dank.

A display case with cans of caviar greets you at the entrance. Bread comes to the table in a paper bag, as if the trainee had been sent out to quickly buy something more. Butter and olives on the table look pretty, but are so meager that even Snow White couldn't get enough of them. Almond/garlic soup comes to the table lukewarm, very tasty. The prices for fish and meat are ambitious, and just as with the Audi the special equipment decorates the entire vehicle, here each side dish also has to be ordered separately. For this, the waitress says 'thank you very much' every time they come to the table, around 80 times in the evening. When going to the toilet, the guest can then admire various display cases whose exhibits can be purchased. As is well known, taste can be debated. Do you really need that, dear Maximilian?

Great ambience, great service and all the food was just full of flavor and perfect

Yesterday we had breakfast brunch at the Hotel Maximilians. The service was outstanding! Everyone was very attentive and extremely polite. We were there last year and were just as enthusiastic about the food. Unfortunately, this has diminished rapidly... for €59 I expect something more than the simplest selection of cheese and sausage (maybe a nice Italian salami etc.). Unfortunately, the warm dishes were bland and tasteless. We even heard the term “canteen food” from others. I'm really not one to complain, but at such a price you can have certain expectations.

Unfortunately for us it's really not a 5S hotel. The four of us were in Augsburg from Saturday to Sunday for a girls' weekend. We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel. The rooms were not ready until 3 p.m. and the suitcases were not brought to the room. We looked in vain for a concierge. This can be ignored, even if it is unusual for a hotel of this class. The rooms themselves are comfortable, although we noticed that several guests complained about the noise on the main street, especially on weekend evenings. In the afternoon we visited the spa area. This is more than unspectacular and the relaxation room with 6 (!) loungers that feel like they are lying directly on the floor is dark and uninviting. But the best is yet to come: When we went back to the relaxation room after 15 minutes in the sauna, all of my friends' things were still there - only my things were completely missing (including a bathrobe WITH a cell phone!!). I then ran around the spa area in a panic until, after several minutes, I finally found an employee. Surprisingly, he knew straight away what it was about and was able to hand me the bathrobe and my things back - shortly before it ended up in the laundry. To this day I still don't understand why he was simply taken away. I don't want to insinuate anything here, but obviously you need your bathrobe in a sauna and your cell phone is not small and is clearly noticeable when wearing the bathrobe. In the evening we went out to dinner and when we came back around 10 p.m. the lobby was full of young people. There was a lot of activity comparable to the entrance to a discotheque. Presumably these were all guests at the bar? Ultimately, we don't know. But the hotel definitely didn't give a good impression. The pillow menu is great, but then you get a cold cherry stone pillow, even though the note says that it is highly recommended warm... Finally, the baked goods at breakfast were good, but here too, smoothies or egg dishes such as poached eggs etc. are definitely missing! The Maximilians can definitely learn a lesson from hotels like the Adlon. Our tables were not cleared either and my cappuccino was carelessly left on the table, half tipped over and wet. From 10.30 onwards there is a lot of activity, at least on Sundays, because brunch is being prepared. Would you like to spend some time in your place? Not conceivable. In summary, there are a few points that shouldn't occur in a hotel of this class.

My visit to Maximilians in Augsburg was simply extraordinary. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed, our jackets were removed and we were escorted to a beautiful table. The service was first class from start to finish. We chose the wine pairing menu and it was a real experience. Each course was perfectly coordinated and prepared with great care using seasonal products. What was particularly impressive was the opportunity to watch the chefs prepare the food - which made the experience even more unique. The wine selection matched the dishes perfectly, and even without much wine experience I was able to clearly recognize and enjoy the different flavor nuances. The taste of the food was impeccable and the quality of the products was noticeable. Price-performance? Totally justified - I would even say it's good value for what you get. I will definitely come back and can fully recommend Maximilians! (Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures, so I'm adding one from the internet here)

Leider hat der Service stark nachgelassen. Preis Leistung stimmt nicht mehr. Auch das Angebot ist für den Preis und das Niveau Durchschnitt.

Sono celiaca e per l’incompetenza e la superficialità del personale ho rischiato di rovinarmi la vacanza. Ho ordinato un piatto che nel menù era indicato privo di glutine. Eravamo in due; la cameriera ci ha portato i piatti dicendocene il nome in maniera incomprensibile, senza sforzarsi di essere più chiara e tenendoli fuori dalla nostra vista. Per risolvere ho indicato a chi andasse quello gluten free. Stavo iniziando a mangiare quando la cameriera è tornata dicendo che lo chef si era sbagliato ed aveva aggiunto un ingrediente, non contemplato nel menù, contenente glutine. Se avessi compreso il nome del piatto non avrei avuto necessità di fare nuovamente riferimento al glutine e l’errore imperdonabile del cuoco non sarebbe emerso. Ho fatto presente questo incidente solo dopo aver pagato il conto, assolutamente sproporzionato a quello che si è mangiato, e sono stata trattata con scortesia ed insofferenza. Sconsigliato

Service war sehr zuvorkommend und äußerst freundlich. Die Speisen waren von sehr hoher Qualität und sehr gut zubereitet. Die Stühle sind m. E. maximal unbequem. Das war in meinen Augen der einzige Wermutstropfen.

Sehr guter Service, gute Weinauswahl, viele offene Weine, die man bevor man sich entscheidet, sogar probieren konnte. Wir hatten das Menü, alle Gänge waren hervorragend und optisch sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Die Portionen so groß, dass man auch eine Weile genießen konnte. Da das Lokal voll war, war es leider etwas laut. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert wenn man einen außergewöhnlichen Abend verbringen will. Sehr gut gefallen hat uns, das 3M gleich nebenan für einen Absacker danach.

Ich war am Sonntag, dem 1. September zum wiederholten Male mit meiner ganzen Familie im Restaurant Maximilians zum Sonntags Brunch, meinen Geburtstag zu feiern. Die Restaurant Manager Herr Füller und Herr Söll haben bereits im Vorfeld charmant und professionell wie immer die Organisation meines Festes perfekt übernommen. Wir waren alle wieder beeindruckt von der Qualität, der Vielfalt und der Präsentation der angebotenen Speisefolgen. Die offene Show Küche macht es möglich, sich auch mit den netten, hilfsbereiten Köchen auszutauschen. Besonders zu erwähnen und hervorzuheben ist der perfekte Service, allzeit präsent , fachlich kompetent und liebenswert. Maximilian°s is a very good restaurant for a variety of occasions. The menu is definitely worth the money. I have to particularly emphasize the excellent service. We spend lovely evenings here, including a selection of crustaceans. De gustibus non est disputandum!

The modern concept of the bakery and cafe is implemented in a friendly manner. The open space with clean seating and self-service, as well as a small outdoor area, invites you to linger. Food and drinks are fresh and the selection is plentiful.

Tijdens onze vakantie over de Romantische Strasse kwamen we in Augsburg. ‘s Avonds wat rondgelopen en toen zagen we Maximilian’s. We checkten op TripAdvisor en besloten hier te eten. Het restaurant heeft een gezellige uitstraling en de bediening is top en informeel met een chique touch. We hadden samen de kleine starter Maximilian’s exclusive genomen. Met heerlijke versgesneden ham, olijven, tomaatjes en breadsticks. Dat beloofde wat voor het hoofdgerecht. Als hoofdgerecht had ik de Fillet of simmental beef met pepersaus, deze was verrukkelijk. Mijn man had een witvis die helemaal top was. We hebben geen toetje meer genomen omdat het er niet meer in kon. Dus afgesloten met koffie en thee. Een heerlijke avond gehad. Zeker aan te raden.

First the positive. A year ago (2023) we had really good food at Max (Drei Mohren) for our 40th wedding anniversary, service was very accommodating and the food was perfect. In mid-July (24) we (12 people) were there for the "civil ceremony". The next room was neatly prepared and the service girls did a good job. But the food was, to say the least, not really enjoyable. Absolutely unacceptable for “Maximilians”. " 2 people ordered fish. They were the only two who were “satisfied”. The others who wanted their meat medium rare got it well done. One person wanted to "go through" it, which was extremely dry. The groom, known for his excellent Kässpatzen, had onion roast with Kässpatzen. They hadn't even seen the cheese up close and had slapped it on the plate with cream. The dessert, a SchockoCreme Brülee, was a chocolate porridge that was only briefly overheated. And if I ever leave a "Creme Brülee" after two or three spoons... Only the bill was worthy of a "Max". Of course I told the service girls my impressions that everything should have gone back. But who offers such a discount at their daughter's wedding party?

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit hier schon gefeiert und kommen jedes Jahr am Jahrestag ins Maximilians und es ist jedes mal sehr schön und richtig lecker. Service und Bewirtung wie man es sich für den gehobenen Anlass vorstellt. Nur zu empfehlen.

Das Essen war großartig, unsere Betreuung durch die nette Dame genauso! Eigentlich wollten wir drinnen essen, unser Tisch war aber im Freien gedeckt und sobald wir die Speisen bekamen, wurden wir von einem Schwarm Fliegen belästigt. Der Hintergrundlärm war die Baustelle mit Schuttrutsche und ununterbrochen fuhren Autos direkt an uns vorbei in die Gasse und mussten wieder rückwärts rausfahren. Das störte unser romantisches Hochzeitstag-Abendessen schon ziemlich. Wer vorreserviert wie wir bekommt einen Dresscode geschickt und wer nicht reserviert kann im T-Shirt und/oder kurzen Hosen da sitzen. Das nächste Mal verlangen wir von Anfang an einen Tisch im Restaurant dann ist alles gut.

Ich war inzwischen schon zum zweiten Mal im Maximilians und werde definitiv nochmal kommen. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam und das Essen ein Traum! Allerdings würde ich mir etwas mehr Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten wünschen.

We celebrated our civil wedding at Maximilians last week. We and our guests were very excited! We were in the Orangery and it was just wonderful to sit with lots of space just for us. The food was super tasty. (Saddle of lamb, eagle fish and roast beef) The service and friendliness of the staff went far beyond what can generally be expected. We had a wonderfully relaxed and completely stress-free evening! Many many thanks!

In dieser Preisklasse darf man versierte Kochkunst erwarten, geliefert wurde Beikoch Niveau. Unwürdig, indiskutabel und zugleich beschämend für mich, ich hatte dieses Restaurant für diesen Abend vorgeschlagen. Bin sehr enttäuscht.

Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Essen und Ambiente war sehr schön. Würden immer wieder gerne hingehen.

The service is impeccable. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The very same should be said about the 3M Bar and Sartory.

Wir waren hier zum Geburtstag meines Mannes und hatten einen hervorragenden Abend. Das komplette Essen war ein Gaumen- und Augenschmaus. Als Vorspeise ein Krustentiersüppchen, bzw. den San Daniele Schinken Hauptspeise Gegrillter Seehecht mit Sardinencreme, Rosmarinbrösel, Püree von Cannelinibohnen und Zitronensauce sowie gebratener Lammrüchen mit Tomatenkruste Als Nachtisch eine Creme Brûlée von der Choba Choba Schokolade mit Aprikosen-Safran-Rahmeis und Kokoswürfeln (mit 2 Löffeln) Es war einfach ein Traum und wir werden (sofern wir Augsburg wieder besuchen würden) sofort wieder einkehren. Dazu kam ein exzellenter, unaufdringlicher Service, den wir sehr genossen haben. Herzlichen Dank für diesen wunderschönen Abend!

Etwas teuer aber das weis man ja bei der Reservierung. Ansonsten genau das was man von dieser Lokalität erwartet. Freundliches Personal und Buffett lecker.

We went for breakfast on my birthday. As always, we felt very comfortable. Very good selection at the buffet and great egg dishes. The service was very attentive and friendly.

Wie immer super toll. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und freuen uns schon auf das nächste mal.

Preislich sehr am oberen Ende der Skala, aber insgesamt noch angemessen für die Leistung. Kleinere Probleme mit Gargraden (Spargel übergart, Garnelen deutlich übergart, Kotelett innen dafür fast noch roh), sonst auch handwerklich sehr gut. Tolle Aromatik.

Für‘s leibliche Wohl ist bestens gesorgt ! Vegetarier , Glutenunverträglich und Veganer , es ist für jeden etwas dabei ! Das ganze Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und ist stets bemüht jeden Gast mit seinen Extrawünschen zufrieden zu stellen !
