I was here for the first time today and I absolutely love it! Everything was incredibly tasty, fresh and lovingly served. You can immediately tell that the work here is done with heart. The owners are very nice, warm and really generous - I ordered an 18 platter and they even made me a 20 platter, just like that. A service like this really isn't a given. I can only recommend this store and am already looking forward to my next visit!

When we are in Hamburg, we ALWAYS eat at Yoshi - we love being given the best advice by expert staff in a pleasant atmosphere, getting tips on how to combine, mix, separate certain Japanese specialties in the tastiest way, etc. and always do so in an exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable manner. Then the food: we have the impression that everything is always of the highest quality and tastes extremely delicious and unique. This time we were delighted by the 9-course menu with the combination of traditional and new style dishes - that's actually the reason why I'm finally writing a review! We like to eat well and prefer to choose excellent cuisines for ourselves in Germany. Going out for Japanese food? Only in the Alsterhaus in the Yoshi! Best ever! 😉

Very friendly and nice staff with nice food

Everything was delicious, from the uramaki to the seared salmon. The staff was very kind. If I ever come back to Hamburg, I will definitely come back here.

Actually my absolute favorite sushi shop. But currently it's difficult to find out when they're open. We always get the ghost menu and are always thrilled.

Since you don't have the opportunity to leave a second review, I'm editing my first review and would prefer to rate this shop with 100 stars and recommend Semester Sushi to EVERYONE! We have been regular customers for over a year and are always surprised at how fast and friendly the employees are. I’m honestly surprised there are so many good reviews. This was literally one of the worst sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The rice was completely bland, the sauces tasted strange, and the food was warm in a way that didn’t feel fresh at all. Inside the box, everything was watery, which made the food soggy — I have no idea why. I also asked if the food was halal, and the staff just said some of the chicken is halal and some isn’t, without clarifying which was which. How am I supposed to guess? Anyway, good luck with the business.

I ordered nigiri sushi for €4.10. Usually, three or four pieces arrive, but I only got one. When I asked, I was told it was normal to only get one piece for €4.10. If you want to waste your money on mid-range food, you've come to the right place.

I have often ordered here, unfortunately the quality is getting worse and worse. I ordered a Soulbox today for €65, everything was fresh, that's good, but some of the rice was really hard and simply tasteless. Unfortunately, €65 was not a good investment

This small shop has no reason to hide from the city's larger ones: the rice is perfect, the fish is truly fresh and flavorful, and the rolls are crispy. I haven't been here in a long time, but I was absolutely delighted.
