Food poisoning - We were at the Block House Ahrensburg last Tuesday evening. It was quite crowded and the food took a correspondingly long time to arrive, but the service was exceptionally friendly. When the food was served, I noticed a strange, slightly foul odor. I didn't say anything else, as I was the only one who noticed it so strongly, and it was also crowded and hectic. Besides, I wasn't expecting a food hygiene problem in a restaurant like this, which we've been going to for years, and blamed it on the crowded room. We now know: The smell probably came from my husband's rib-eye steak (medium). He had already noticed a slightly bitter taste while eating, but trusted that the food was being prepared properly. Then, tonight, I woke up and realized: severe stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting all night long, and chills. We were about to go to the emergency room. Since we've eaten exactly the same vegan, home-cooked meal up until today, that's a pretty clear sign that the beef really wasn't up to scratch. We're really disappointed and angry – something like that might be to be expected at a takeaway, but certainly not in an upscale restaurant where a steak costs almost €30. Since I noticed the smell while it was cooking, it should have been obvious during preparation that the meat was spoiled. This shouldn't happen. We certainly won't be coming here again and have learned to trust our senses, no matter how fancy the restaurant claims to be.

I ate there for the first time and wasn't happy. My baked potato was too soft and didn't taste good, and the salmon had two small pieces. You can eat better elsewhere for this money. Sorry food deserves 1 star

Good restaurant with nice staff.

Highly recommended. We were 4 adults, two dogs, a toddler and baby with a stroller. Families & Dogs Friendly! There is a special games corner for children with a lot of selection. We all got our food at the same time. Highly recommended.

In any case, we can recommend the small steakhouse. Rustic atmosphere, family friendly except for a few guests!!! The food is amazing and the service is friendly and very accommodating. Are very happy here.
