I'm only writing this review because we experienced it exactly as described in the negative reviews.
We also visited there a while ago. But we weren't treated the same way. In our opinion, the meat wasn't a natural cut, but rather industrially glued pieces. Perhaps we should have taken a sample for testing, but we were completely perplexed by the price. We at least exercised our right to object and criticized the service provided. Our response: defensive statements, insinuations, and insults. Well, since we didn't want any further contact with this establishment, we paid anyway and added it to our list of no-go areas.
We wish the surprisingly large number of people who were apparently totally enthusiastic continued enjoyment there. Perhaps we're not talking about the same location 😉
I highly recommend this hotel! I have been coming here for work for four years and I always choose this hotel! I choose it because of the very hospitable hosts who are happy to receive guests! The food in the restaurant is very tasty! The rooms are always clean and cozy! In general, when you live here, you feel at home
I didn't really want to write a negative review, but dealing with such a trivial situation was simply impossible. I've eaten at this restaurant several times, but today we were unlucky: There was a short hair in my schnitzel. Naturally, that ruined my girlfriend's and my appetite.
We politely pointed this out to the waiter. His first reaction? He couldn't see a hair. After we showed him, the matter could have been easily resolved, but what followed was nothing but embarrassing.
Another employee came back with the plate and claimed they couldn't find a hair. Why this unnecessary discussion? We never said we didn't want to pay or expect compensation; we just wanted the bill and to leave. Instead, a third, visibly outraged employee came to our table to also discuss the matter.
To be honest: A simple apology would have sufficed. But no, instead, they argued and rambled on until the evening was completely ruined. The plates were full, we were hungry, what would have been the point of simply sending the food back if it wasn't right? Absolutely unprofessional and a shame.
I gave my partner a voucher for the vida for Christmas, which we have now redeemed. We chose the vegetarian 5-course menu including greetings from the kitchen and fresh bread with truffle cream. Overall, an interesting culinary evening - with some highs, but unfortunately also noticeable weaknesses.
I would particularly like to highlight the first course: a delicacy of peas and herder's cheese with pomegranate. He was creative, sophisticated and very varied in his composition - peas in three different preparation forms, fine melon balls, mini mushrooms - everything wonderfully balanced. This course really made you want more and showed how much potential and sensitivity there is in the kitchen. The wild garlic foam soup with asparagus and confit egg as well as the dessert – a mille feuille of rhubarb and raspberry with mascarpone cream and tarragon ice cream – were also very tasty.
The two middle courses, on the other hand, unfortunately fell well short of these highlights. The baked cauliflower with potato soufflé was solid but unsurprising. The falafel course with baba ganoush, bean cassoulet and couscous seemed rather out of place to me and didn't fit in well with a fine dining concept.
Unfortunately, what really spoiled the overall impression was the service. Sometimes 45 minutes passed between courses, and in total we sat in the restaurant for over 3.5 hours - without any explanation or apology for the very long waiting times. Over a period of about 1.5 hours we weren't even asked if we wanted anything else to drink. When finally three different service staff came to our table within three minutes and asked - friendly, but obviously uncoordinated. The espresso ordered for dessert was completely forgotten.
What was particularly frustrating was that we could observe at neighboring tables how everything was happening much more quickly and in a more structured way - some of them were obviously regular guests, which unfortunately left a bad aftertaste.
All the employees were really very friendly, but overall careless - which is noticeable in a restaurant with this standard and price level.
In addition to good food, a well-rounded experience also requires consistently attentive, professional service. Unfortunately we wouldn't come here a second time.
