We come here every year, now for the fifth time, and every year we have a delicious meal. Highly recommended. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

If you're really hungry and like meat, this is the place for you. The portions are very generous. The food is hearty, well-seasoned, and comes in all varieties. The pancakes are highly recommended for dessert. The staff is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is rather simple, but OK. I'd be happy to go back!

An old pub with lots of artificial flowers and knick-knacks, too much for my taste. The food was good except for the burger meat, which was a bit pressed and didn't taste good to us. The prices are perfectly reasonable. The ladies are all friendly and helpful, and you don't have to wait long.

I had a grilled plate with salad and for dessert a pancake with hot churches and vanilla ice cream, the food was very tasty and the service was very good. I will come back.

The Traarerkrug is a somewhat more rustic restaurant and also has a bowling alley. The owners are always friendly and in a good mood. You quickly get the feeling of being welcome. It's best to call before your visit to find out whether there are still places available. The courts also respond to requests for changes. My family and I enjoy coming here.

Food average, service okay, atmosphere in the restaurant too. Big points deduction for the toilets. Extremely cramped and black mold on the ceiling. Absolute no-go for a restaurant. Who knows where it is and I just haven't seen the mold.

Bei Schatzi ist man immer herzlich umsorgt. Entspannter Service, solides Essen. Hier kann man nichts falsch machen, ausser man am Wochenende nicht reserviert.

Delicious food and large portions. There is a lot to choose from and there should be something for everyone. Unfortunately, my partner's Pleskavica was not that great, care should be taken to ensure that it is fried properly and that it is cooked through on the inside but not black on the outside. The service was very, very nice and everything was very familiar. The ambience is not really my personal taste, especially in the back area, but at the front it is still very rustic and cozy. Because of the warmth on site and my good food, I can recommend the restaurant.

We were tempted by the many positive reviews to visit the Traarer Krug for the first time. And we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was really tasty because it was freshly made (3 different schnitzels + pljeskavica) and nicely presented. The rice is also recommended. We'll definitely be back!

Village restaurant with down-to-earth cuisine. There are mussels, various schnitzels and steaks, salads and, on Thursdays, spare ribs. Very friendly service, drinkable house wines. Great price/performance ratio.

We ate there two days ago, there were 6 of us in total. What was very unusual, we were greeted very warmly, you don't find anything like that anymore. It's not everyday when you come to a restaurant for the first time that you are greeted as warmly as if you were coming home to mom. Just great. The food was very tasty. Yesterday we drove from Bottrop to Krefeld to the Traarer Krug with a "6-person delegation" from Berlin, Duisburg and Mülheim to have something to eat together. It was a real experiment and a classic first visit! When we made the reservation by phone, the owner of the house (“Schatzi!”) conveyed absolute joy and appreciation. The typical Balkan food was absolutely great, very tasty and authentic. The portions are large, the meat is very tasty and the homemade ailoi is a must! Only the side salad lacked a little dressing, but overall it was crisp and fresh. We can fully recommend this rustic restaurant and will definitely come back. The friendly and unobtrusive service was great. The boss of the house is sooo sweet and takes touching care of every guest. So, off to Traar... Restaurant with good home cooking and a touch of Yugoslavian cuisine. Due to the friendliness shown to the guests here, you feel very comfortable despite the old restaurant. We ate a Jägerpfanne (or something similar) and a Traarer-style schnitzel. I can't say anything about the pan because the order was passed on incorrectly and we therefore only ate half of it. The waitress apologized several times and the dish was not charged. The Schnitzel Traarer Style (baked with mushrooms, hollandaise sauce and cheese) was served with fried potatoes and was very tasty! All in all, it was a nice evening for all of us... and that was it. I didn't have the wow effect to come back now

For the first time on Sundays early in the traarer Krug! Although there are no windows in the back room it is very comfortably furnished! Extremely friendly ladies in service, you immediately feel very comfortable! The schnitzel was good and the fried potatoes were delicious, but the mushroom sauce wasn't really my thing! But there are still plenty of other dishes to discover! See you next time!

We had food here on our way back to the Netherlands. I would highly recommend this place. The food is delicious and the portion is huge! I also liked the decorations, lamps and old photos on the wall. Lastly, everyone is super friendly and kind. I hope we will visit this place again one day! It was a great end of our Easter holiday in Germany.

We went here to eat based on a recommendation and I have to say we weren't disappointed. Schnitzel and grill plates were great. We received a warm welcome and you can tell the people who work there really enjoy their guests. It wasn't the last time we were there.

So what can I say, I was just eating in an expensive BBG restaurant and once again realized that the Traarer Krug is simply better. You get exactly what you would like: no-frills, very tasty food at reasonable prices with very nice, warm service.

Alle super nett. Das Essen ist immer klasse und reichlich. Das Mobiliar ist schon etwas älter, aber man sitzt trotzdem immer gemütlich und man wird herzlich bedient.

Dieses Mal haben wir die Gänsekeule mit Klöße , Rotkraut, Grillapfel und einer leckeren Bratensoße genossen. Das Fleisch an der Keule war sooo super und lecker, dass sie sich fast von selber von der Keule löste. Der Preis von 27,50 € war mehr als fair. Wir kommen natürlich immer wieder gerne. Achtung: Rechtzeitig reservieren!!!

Traarer Krug ist eine sehr gute Adresse, wenn man einfach etwas essen möchte. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und kümmert sich um ihre Gäste sehr gut. Essen ist gut und sehr auf die Balkan Küche spezialisiert. Die Ambiente ist alt bürgerlich eingerichtet. Wir sind gerne dort bei Schätzchen.

Wir waren heute spontan zum ersten Mal hier, da wir in Krefeld ein Fotoshooting hatten und aus Kevelaer kommen. Wir müssen sagen, dass wir für dieses Restaurant sehr gerne die 40km fahren würden, da wir uns so wohl gefühlt haben. Die Besitzerin ist eine wahre "Schatzi" 😉🥰 Sie ist einfach zuckersüß. Unsere kleinen Kinder wurden sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Der Service, das Essen, die familiäre Atmosphäre, und und und.. Top 👌🤗 Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Super nette Damen die das Restaurant führen. Das Fleisch ist einfach unglaublich gut und man fühlt sich so wohl dort. Wir sind regelmäßig da und die Qualität ist immer gleich gut.

So ein herzlicher Service hat Seltenheitswert. Sehr aufmerksam und immer Zeit für ein Gespräch. Preis/Leistung und Qualität einwandfrei. Immer wieder gerne, gut bürgerliches Gasthaus.
