C.C. Kowalski in Köln

I didn't really want to write a negative review, but dealing with such a trivial situation was simply impossible. I've eaten at this restaurant several times, but today we were unlucky: There was a short hair in my schnitzel. Naturally, that ruined my girlfriend's and my appetite. We politely pointed this out to the waiter. His first reaction? He couldn't see a hair. After we showed him, the matter could have been easily resolved, but what followed was nothing but embarrassing. Another employee came back with the plate and claimed they couldn't find a hair. Why this unnecessary discussion? We never said we didn't want to pay or expect compensation; we just wanted the bill and to leave. Instead, a third, visibly outraged employee came to our table to also discuss the matter. To be honest: A simple apology would have sufficed. But no, instead, they argued and rambled on until the evening was completely ruined. The plates were full, we were hungry, what would have been the point of simply sending the food back if it wasn't right? Absolutely unprofessional and a shame.

Delicious food, excellent service and good atmosphere. Don't worry. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. The dessert is also 10.

Good attention They offer a selection of German cuisine, very carefully prepared, well presented and very appetizing. I would say satisfaction guaranteed. The desserts, with a minimal offer, are delicious. Good selection of beers.

Wowwww... What a "discovery" for us... We had the Wiener Schnitzel... it couldn't be better... well baked... mashed potatoes with truffles... very nice cucumber salad with it... Super dear boss in service.. We felt so beautifully arrived... Thank you 🫶👌👌👌

I can absolutely recommend the small restaurant in the Belgian Quarter of Cologne. The service was great and the food was a taste experience. We will definitely come back next time we are in Cologne.

Mit direktem Blick auf dem Brüsseler Platz gehört das CC Kowalski zu unseren Lieblingsrestaurants in Köln. Das Essen ist super lecker und der Service top! Die Weine sind ebenfalls sehr gut! Das Schnitzel ist immer perfekt! Absolute Empfehlung!

We spontaneously went there for dinner on the weekend as tourists and ate an extremely delicious, fresh, healthy salad with olives and parmesan. The two waiters were so nice and attentive. Incomprehensible! Rarely experienced in this form... If I could, I would give it even more stars!!!!

Food was delicious, especially the octopus as starter. The service was also really kind and patient. I would highly recommend eating here.

The Kowalski is always something special! The service is very attentive and courteous! You are warmly welcomed, shown to the table (which is clean! Unfortunately not a given in Cologne), the wine selection is appropriate and the dishes... well they are really good! The Wiener Schnitzel (veal!) is the classic at Kowalski. I found the pasta to be the real reason to go here! Whether linguine with chanterelles or the stuffed fig ravioli with rocket and walnuts are a real recommendation! I just love being here!

A small, cozy restaurant with delicious food. The service was very nice and we didn't have to wait long for the dish. We simply ordered pork loin with truffle puree - it was delicious. We also received an appetizer.

Each of these menus is delicious. You have to get to know this place and then you'll keep coming back.

At Kowalski, Kölsch isn't just served, it rules! Here you feel part of the furniture more quickly than in your own shared apartment. The landlord, a real original, only knows two drink requests: “Kölsch” and “Another Kölsch”. The humor is as dry as the Cologne heart is cheerful. When you enter Kowalski, you immerse yourself in a world where the clocks are set to Kölsch time - and it is always set to "Prost". In short: Kowalski is like a carnival in a glass, only funnier because you remember everything the next day!

Ich war 3 Tage in Köln, davon zweimal im Kowalski beim Mittagessen. Abgesehen von der sofort einladenden, sympathischer Atmosphäre samt zuckersüßer Eigentümerin (?)/ „bedienender Mama“ haben Speis und Trank absolute Spitzenqualität und das Auge isst mehr als gern mit. Steht nun ab sofort bei jedem Kölnbesuch auf der Agenda.

Toller Laden. Ich esse wenig Fleisch, aber hier gibt es ein Schnitzel, da lohnt es eine Ausnahme zu machen. Die Bänke draußen sind nur so bequem wie sie aussehen, also nicht für einen längeren Abend.

Was für ein hervorragendes Restaurant. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Samstagabend mit leckerem Essen, Hirschgulasch mit köstlichem Rotkohl, leckerem Rotwein und einem aufmerksamen und super tollen Servicepersonal. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt.

Kleine Karte, freundlicher spritziger Service, köstliches Essen, schöne Atmo, korrekte Preise. Ein rundum gelungener Abend. So einfach und es kriegen so viele andere einfach nicht hin.

Eine Perle im Belgischen Viertel. Die ansprechend übersichtliche Karte liest sich hervorragend. Wir waren zum Gänseessen hier und haben auch die Dips und die Muscheln probiert. Auch die Vegetarier unter uns, waren mit der Pasta sehr zufrieden. Die Gänsekeulen waren perfekt und die Beilagen sehr gut. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend hier. Das Preisleistungverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung.

Ganz toller aufmerksamer Service und leckere stimmige Gerichte. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Das Ambiente lädt außerdem zum Verweilen ein. Ich kann v.a. das Schnitzel empfehlen.

Ich war am Montag Abend vor Ort und habe jede Sekunde genossen. Schöne Atmosphäre, gute Akustik, gemütliche, geschmackvolle und sehr gepflegte Einrichtung. TOLLER Service, TOLLES Essen und TOLLES Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Somit überall 5 Sterne und 100%ig zu empfehlen. Ich werde definitiv wieder hingehen.

Les serveurs sont sympa, l’endroit est joli avec vue sur le parvis de l’église, mais surtout la nourriture était très tres bonne, de bons aliments bien cuisinés et même le pain était chaud et tres bon. Bonne adresse pour qui veut bien manger en mettant un prix honnête pour la qualité

Ich war die Tage dort, liebe Ravioli und habe Pecorino Feigen Ravioli mit Ruccola und Walnussbutter gegessen. Sehr gut! Aperitif, Wein und Service waren auch sehr gut.

Schoenes kleines Lokal. Sehr gutes Essen mit einem passenden Gruss aus der Kueche als Anfang, gute Aperitif-Empfehlungen, guter Wein. Die Gastgeber sind sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich und gut drauf. Wir haben uns absolut wohl gefuehlt und, wuerden wir in Koeln wohnen, kaemen wir ganz sicher oefter vorbei. Freundlicher Empfang. Kleine aber feine Speisekarte. Bestelltes Essen Kiko Hähnchen und Tomate mit Burrata hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Im Innenbereich etwas eng und sehr kleine Tische. Wir waren mittags um 12 direkt nach der Öffnung vor Ort, leider waren die Toiletten nicht wirklich angenehm und obwohl wir die ersten Gäste waren, quoll der Mülleimer mit Papiertüchern über. Hier ist Luft nach oben.

Bei jedem Ausflug nach Köln darf ein Besuch im Kowalski nicht fehlen. Essen, Service, Ambiente und Location sind immer wieder ein Fest.

Sehr leckere Drinks - preislich in Ordnung. Der Service war echt nett und zuvorkommend. Der Espresso Martini wurde uns auf Nachfrage extra gemacht. Hummus und Oliven waren auch super! Hier kann man schön in schicker Umgebunh draußen die Sonne genießen

Eines meiner Lieblingsläden in Köln was das Essen angeht. Schon etwas teuer, aber lohnt sich. Toller Service, am Wochenende, wenn es voll ist aber relativ laut. Hatte eine Aperitif der war sehr gut! Als Vorspeise hatten wir 3 Dips mit Brot, weniger wäre aber auch ausreichend gewesen. Die die Ravioli waren ebenfalls der Hammer und die Portionen sind wirklich groß/ausreichend. Zum Dessert haben wir es leider nicht mehr geschafft. Beim letzten Mal hatte ich das Wiener Schnitzel, auch super gut. Besonders lecker war das Kartoffelpüree mit Trüffeln.

Überragender Service, sehr aufmerksam, sehr höflich, nicht zu aufdringlich. Angemessenes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Essen sehr lecker und auf den Punkt zubereitet. Die Atmosphäre ist auch sehr angenehm und die Einrichtung ist ebenfalls sehr gemütlich. Klare Weiterempfehlung!
