We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday with the Best Of menu. Unfortunately the event was canceled, but Malte Hess spontaneously conjured up an exclusive menu and thus a perfect evening for us. As always, the meal was a culinary delight in the beautiful atmosphere of the outdoor area. The service was again excellent and very attentive. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

Favorite place in Essen. Great wine selection, super good advice, very good food, nice, cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Also very nice: the hangover breakfast on Saturday. Lively and to slow down.

It's too crowded to get a seat without a reservation. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

100% recommended. The service is both very friendly and attentive and the food is simply great. The meze platter for two contains everything your heart and stomach desire including dessert. Any time. Full 5 stars+

Unbeatable price!! The selection of schnitzel variations is huge. They taste great! We've been there three times already, and it's very nice. I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately my visit was disappointing. The organization of the service leaves a lot to be desired. There is no clear structure as to when and how guests are served. After a long wait, we were served and received our order, but even after that we had to wait a very long time again - this time to get the bill. Overall not a pleasant experience. There's definitely room for improvement here

Excellent hotel with outstanding service and great cuisine I recently stayed at the Hotel Engelsburg in Recklinghausen and was completely thrilled. The historical ambience of the house creates a special atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. My room was very comfortable, quiet and gave me a restful night - exactly what you want from a good hotel. However, I would particularly like to highlight the excellent cuisine and the excellent service in the restaurant. Jürgen Menke made my stay a real pleasure with his attentive, friendly and professional manner. You can immediately tell that he carries out his job with passion and looks after his guests with the greatest care. All in all, a clear recommendation for anyone looking for a hotel in Recklinghausen with first-class service, great food and a feel-good factor. I'd love to come back!

Greasy fries, loads of crap impossible to eat from this layered plate, Cambert watery, schnitzel from the deep fryer, pepper sauce tastes like nothing.

Nice service, delicious salad, reasonable prices.

The quality of the sushi is excellent. Authentic, no-frills Japanese sushi is offered here. The miso soup is recommended.

Super nice host and spontaneous visits shortly before the end were no problem. Sayuri was looking for a nice way to end the drum training and immediately found it. See you again in September......Booking has already been successfully accepted. Your caramel liqueur is amazing.
