A guest in Esens for years, but only discovered this insider tip this year. Great ambience, super nice service and even better food. It is understandable that when the store is full, you can no longer bring every order to the table in person. Then there is a beeper system. I think the service fits perfectly into the modern ambience. The apple and cheese cake is to die for - as is the cocoa you get there. It's great that you can order the cocoa without any sugar. I've never seen anything like this anywhere else. The bricks are also super tasty. The Bruns-Brick is particularly recommended, as well as a delicious homemade iced tea!

I only stayed at the Hotel Kröger for one night on a weekend. All the staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was very rich, a large selection and everything was fresh. I had a large, bright room. The bed was super comfortable and the modern bathroom has everything you need. I had forgotten shower gel, luckily there was a dispenser with shower gel in the shower :) Because of the road closure due to the construction site in front of the house, it was very quiet. That was probably just luck 😃 For my next stay in Esens I will book the Hotel Kröger again. Clear recommendation!

Disappointing breakfast in the Peter Pan restaurant in Bensersiel This morning we had breakfast at the Peter Pan restaurant in Bensersiel and had already made a reservation weeks in advance. We were all the more surprised when no one there knew about our reservation. After some confusion we finally got a table - in hindsight it would have been better if not. For €17.50 per person we would have expected at least a decent breakfast. Instead, there were poor quality baked rolls that tasted closer to a grade 6 - if you were even lucky enough to get some. The rest of the breakfast offerings were similarly disappointing. The coffee was also extremely bitter and hardly drinkable. The staff, including the boss, seemed completely overwhelmed. Many tables had not yet been cleared, so guests had to sit in dirty places. Other guests even had to leave without having accomplished anything because there were simply no seats or breakfast available. Overall our visit was a big disappointment. For the price you would expect significantly better quality and better service. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Pizza Bolognese was ordered and pizza with salami and tuna was received. Ordered kebab, received dry bread with strange tasting meat. Cucumber salad had nothing to do with a cucumber salad. Half had to be thrown away. Unfortunately, this has happened regularly, but unfortunately we can no longer order there. I'm usually very, very optimistic, but now the limit has been reached.

Today we visited Esens and had lunch here. We were able to sit down in this lovely restaurant without a reservation. Our four-legged friend was also welcome. The food was very good, the portions were large enough for even the most hungry guests, and the prices were fair. Everything seemed clean, and the service was friendly and very attentive. In short, a lovely restaurant where you can eat very well.

The fish platter was great. The crème brulee was just a tiny pan of panna cota with a blackened layer on top that tasted like coal. A real shame :-((((((

We spontaneously ate there again this evening. The two girls were super nice and attentive. The 11 of us get the food! out of 10 points. An all-round successful evening.

The crab soup wasn't soup, but more like mush! It was way too salty. My boyfriend's schnitzel was okay. The nuggets and fries were okay too. The Asian waiter/owner? Totally unfriendly! We'll never go there again. And the prices are outrageous.

Very sympathic. Even if you just want to have a drink outside, everyone is very welcoming.
