A cozy restaurant, still quite busy in November despite the off-season. We had a pleasant meal and enjoyed ourselves.

Stürhus has a medium-sized menu with several fish and meat dishes. I had the Hamburg pan-fried fish with pickles and mustard sauce, which came with fried potatoes in a pan. It didn't look like much at first, but it was a decent portion. My wife had the fish fillet duet. Both were really delicious. Before that, we had baked feta cheese and potato soup with nicely crispy bacon, both of which were also very good. The service was friendly and efficient, and they had a few witty remarks up their sleeves. Stürhus is located right by the harbor lock. It's cozy and has the feel of a traditional harbor pub. We thought we wouldn't need a reservation in mid-November, but we were lucky that someone had just left, because the place was actually quite full.

Visually appealing restaurant with friendly service. However, it should be noted that towards the end of the season, the quality of the food reflects this. A visit to the local area is absolutely not recommended.

My mom and I went there for fish. The selection was fantastic, and we both devoured our plates with great enthusiasm. We also enjoyed a really delicious dark, freshly tapped beer from the region (Werdum). The atmosphere and service were also excellent. We'll definitely be back. Meat eaters have a wide selection, vegetarians less so, and vegans even less. But you go to a fish restaurant for the fish, right?

We had dinner at Stürhus last week. The girls are really great, easygoing, always friendly, and always have a witty remark ready, even though the restaurant was absolutely packed. The atmosphere is lovely, and the food and drinks are excellent. For me, it's the only reason to come back to Bensersiel.

This is our fifth time dining at Stürhus within a week – that really says it all. An all-around perfect experience: The decor is cozy, rustic, and at the same time maritime – you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is informal and warm, as is the service. The food is consistently very good, the portions generous, and the prices absolutely fair – the value for money is simply perfect here. A particularly nice feature: Upstairs, there are two tables right by the window with an unobstructed view of Bensersiel Harbor – a real highlight. Outside, a small sun terrace with beach chairs and windbreaks invites you to linger. A real insider tip on the North Sea – we'll definitely be back!

A very cozy restaurant decorated in a maritime style, with very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent service and, most importantly, the food was simply fantastic. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the salmon was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, simply perfect.

The quintessential North German restaurant. Typical North German dishes and drinks are served here in an authentic atmosphere. Whether it's fresh fish or schnitzel, everything is perfect. And the food is freshly prepared, which you can taste. The attentive and friendly staff leaves nothing to be desired. You feel very comfortable here and would love to come back. A very quaint harborside pub with super friendly service. We were able to eat at the bar without a reservation. We were stranded from Langeoog because the bus service was no longer running. The food was a revelation: the schnitzel was freshly trimmed and pan-fried. The fried potatoes were crispy, as they should be. The pasta and pesto dish was a poem. We received a friendly Frisian welcome and excellent service. We highly recommend it. If you want a table, you should make a reservation.

This is a very nice, rustic restaurant with lots of old maritime accessories on the walls and in the rooms. The staff is always in a good mood and very friendly. The food is delicious and good. It's simply a pleasure to stop by this restaurant.

We've been there many times. The food is lovingly prepared. The owners are super nice. I highly recommend the Bär herbal liqueur! It's truly delicious. See you again soon!

We were there on Monday evening and had reserved a table on the upper deck. We received a very friendly welcome, and the table was already set. Also based on the good reviews, we treated ourselves to the fish platter for two. Okay, we came with high expectations, and they were far exceeded. The five different types of fish were superbly prepared. As a lover of fried potatoes, you look (and taste) them especially closely. But they were also prepared to perfection. The entire decoration of the platter, including the various bowls, also deserves high praise. It was amazing how quickly the ladies repeatedly rushed up the stairs, always extremely friendly and seemingly 😊relaxed. In short: a particularly successful holiday evening for us!!! Clear recommendation: 15 out of 10 points!!!

Absolutely, the food was extremely tasty and the service very good. We had a duet of plaice and redfish. The side dishes were very flavorful. Despite not having a reservation, we got a table on the upper deck. We'd be happy to go back anytime.

We spontaneously visited on a Sunday evening and were only able to snag one of the beach chairs outside, which was fine with us. We were immediately offered a highchair, and the service was generally very friendly. The food selection is very extensive, as are the portions, and, in addition to the excellent taste, it offers good value for money.

After several days in Bensersiel, we had dinner here. Highly recommended! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere inside was rustic, and you can sit comfortably in beach chairs outside. And last but not least: I've rarely eaten such good fish! The portions were more than generous, served with lots of love, and the recipes were well thought out and perfectly coordinated! Anyone in Bensersiel MUST eat here!!!

Once and never again... We waited 1.5 hours for the food, then the waitress came and apologized, saying we forgot our order. The food arrived very quickly... 30 minutes later, still nothing happened. NEVER AGAIN

The service was friendly, but they didn't really keep an eye on their customers outside. It took a long time for the food to arrive, and there was rarely anyone else there to check if anything was missing. The food was good, and the portions were plentiful. The price/performance ratio was good.

Three people were at the restaurant three weeks ago. Everything was great. The fish was great. The manager and staff were fantastic. We weren't asked to leave at 10 p.m., but we were able to have a few nightcaps. Our forgotten bag was brought directly to our table the next day.

Very child-friendly: the children's menu included crayons, and the junior's meal was given priority and arrived quickly. Delicious food! Reserving a table is highly recommended. Taking a chance can go wrong. The baked potato with quark blew me away. I haven't had quark that delicious in ages. It was my absolute highlight. The plaice was also incredibly delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked for a short time, not too long. Thank you very much.

Friendly staff, and tables are usually in cozy alcoves or outside, which is a great place to sit in the summer. We've been to Bensersiel a dozen times on vacation, and each time we've eaten there two or three times. They serve hearty meat dishes or delicious fish.

To be honest, the fish platter on the menu was what attracted us and definitely won us over! It was incredibly delicious, every fish tasted very fresh, and the sauces and side dishes complemented it perfectly. The girls run the place well, are very attentive, and extremely helpful. All in all, we had a great dinner and would love to come back on our next visit to the north!

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed – as if we were regulars, even though we were just "nine hungry ladies on tour." 😄 The service? Friendly, prompt, and with a charming smile that probably even made our dessert a little sweeter! The food? Simply WOW! Fresh fish, as tender as butter, lovingly prepared, and the sauce – we wondered if we could order it as a shot. 😂 The plates were not only pleasing to the eye, but also a true explosion of flavor. No one left hungry – but completely happy. The portions were large enough that even our "always-just-have-a-salad" friend suddenly bravely tried the fish (and then, of course, wanted to order more right away). 😉 In short: If you're in Bensersiel and don't go to Stürhus, you're missing out. We've been there twice for dinner. Ordered fish twice each time. What can I say, it was perfect. My girlfriend was able to eat everything despite her gluten allergy. Upon request, her fish was prepared gluten-free. Everything was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Super fresh and delicious. Service was impeccable, as was the food. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely be back. It's best to reserve a table outside in advance, though. We were always lucky and were able to snag a free table outside. Prices are reasonable and fair.

Every year during our vacation in Bensersiel, we go here for a delicious 😋 meal. Vegetarians can also find something to eat here. It's very comfortable on the terrace or inside on the ground floor with no steps. Our furry friends are also welcome.

My husband and I were on vacation at the Stürhus restaurant. It was a truly lovely atmosphere. We'd actually wanted to go the year before, but the timing wasn't right. Luckily, we managed to make it last year and went without reserving a table. It wasn't too busy at the time, and we got a lovely, cozy table for two, quite far back in the restaurant, but that didn't bother us. Both the drinks and the food were served quickly; it was truly delicious, and the service was very friendly. We really enjoyed our meal and will gladly go back to Stürhus next time. :)

Even for a non-fish eater like me, there's a good selection of meats. However, a reservation is essential. For me, this is one of, if not THE, best restaurant in Bensersiel.

Small, cozy, rustic restaurant. Update for 2024 & 2025: We were just as thrilled on these two visits as we were on the first. Incredibly delicious food (in 2025, we shared the fish and meat platters with friends). The kids were served just as politely and brilliantly as we were. The boss is a true northerner (I think) and just as warm and genuine. Thank you so much for this time too. After unfortunately not having a chance to get a table at Stürhus during our vacation in 2021, we tried again this year. The rump steak literally melts in your mouth. Very tasty. The salmon fillet was also perfectly juicy and delicious. The kids' fish fingers, as you could taste and see, weren't a convenience product, but homemade, as we were told when we asked. Everything was delicious. The price/performance ratio was absolutely right. Good products and good work deserve fair pay. Thank you for the delicious food and great service. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Stürhus restaurant. We often enjoyed excellent meals in a cozy atmosphere and always felt very comfortable with the cheerful staff. But we, as guests, can also contribute to a pleasant stay.

We ordered the fish platter for two people and were able to choose one side dish per person. It also came with two dips, a side salad, and two sauces. The fish platter was very filling, explained during serving, and absolutely delicious! The servers were also very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is truly rustic. Reservations recommended.

We ate at Stürhus for three days and were thrilled. The atmosphere is very cozy; we immediately felt at home. The staff is super friendly, and the chef is excellent. We loved his cranberry vinaigrette.

We've never eaten fish so good. The fish platter for two came with two fillets each of plaice, zander, redfish, salmon, and cod. It was so fresh, it was still wriggling! We also had jacket potatoes with herb quark and two tablespoons of fried potatoes, because they were sooooo delicious. The aperitif and wine were also delicious. Definitely a stop!

We asked if we could eat outside. After 15 minutes, the waiter finally arrived, and after 25 minutes, when we tried to order our food, the waiter told us he wasn't allowed to accept any more food.

A rustic restaurant with a good menu focusing on fish. The herring menu is fantastic, something you won't find anywhere else. We enjoyed the combination of herring, sherry-stained herring, and fried herring with fried potatoes.
