We came here for dinner. The restaurant has a cozy pub atmosphere. The food was plentiful and tasty, although the salad was unfortunately a bit brown. Overall, the food here is really good – I'd say it's very solidly average. The service, however, is particularly praiseworthy: The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. It was also impressive that only two employees managed the entire service so well – hats off to them! We also got a table right away, even though we didn't have a reservation.

One star is too many here. Guests who still had their drinks had to get up and sit at the bar. I had chicken soup with a garnish. The soup was definitely instant broth, and I had to search for the garnish. Afterward, according to the menu, there were fried potatoes, meatloaf with a gypsy gravy (that word is no longer politically correct), and a salad. The tomatoes were soft and had no flavor. The meatloaf also had no flavor, and the gravy was from a jar. I wasn't sure whether it was tomato or paprika flavor. The salad came before the soup. The value for money isn't right here. Once, never again. A waste of money.

Despite having a reservation, guests had to vacate their tables. It's completely unacceptable, and it wasn't just us. My meal was good, but my wife's was junk! It came from a can, including the appetizer. All in all, the restaurant is only conditionally recommended because the price-performance ratio isn't good. The meatloaf isn't recommended. Actually, one star is too much. 🤔

The food was delicious, but immediately after we finished our meals, our plates were cleared away, and we were moved to the bar with our drinks so that our table could be reassigned. That was very unpleasant and had never happened to us before. Guests were also seated next to other guests. I've never seen that in a restaurant before, and we won't be back.

A quaint little restaurant, the interior of which is more reminiscent of a cozy, old pub. The welcome and service in general were very friendly. Unfortunately, the plaice fillet was very fatty and salty.

Extremely cozy, delicious food. We were there for dinner two weeks ago. The food was really bad. Four of us ate there, each of us having a different dish. Unfortunately, the food sat so heavily on all four of our stomachs. It's a shame, it used to be really good, but we'll probably find another place.

A quaint restaurant. Unfortunately, my fish was watery and tasted of nothing. What a pity! The crabs were delicious. You pay significantly more here, for what I don't know.

We came here with our children and were thrilled. The kids had potato pancakes with applesauce, my husband had redfish fillet, and I had the East Frisian plate—delicious! The staff were on the ball! Outdoor seating available 👍🏻

We ate there for the third time today. Two of them were plaice. Very tasty and juicy. Fresh fried potatoes on the side. Today, we started with a delicious fish soup. As always, very friendly service despite being open 7 days a week. The ambiance inside is old-school and therefore really cool and cozy. Our first impression was deceiving. You should see for yourself. If we ever find ourselves on the cold North Sea in Bensersiel again, we'll go there again!

When we vacation in Bensersiel, we love going to the Deichklause. The charming entrance area immediately attracted us. The menu is very convincing and mid-priced. All dishes are highly recommended. The host is very attentive and serves an excellent Pilsner, just like older people from the Ruhr area know and love.

Two points deducted because the online menu doesn't reflect the current prices (€31.50 instead of €25.90 online) and because card payments aren't accepted. A no-go these days!

Here you'll find honest, simple cuisine at a very good price/performance ratio in a quaint dining room. The server was very friendly and the food was delicious. Plus, the wait time was really short.

We had dinner at the Deichklause today. From the outside, you'd think it's an average restaurant... But! Inside, it has the charm of a former "local pub." Quaint. And the food was absolutely delicious! We eat out a lot. The fish soup as a starter was amazing. I could have had it as a main course, too. I had the herring plate with it. The fish was so fresh and tender, the fried potatoes cooked to perfection. You can tell that the food is still cooked with love here. Thank you so much for this delicious meal. The price is also completely justified, considering we're in a vacation region.

The food was great. I had spaghetti with seafood and my wife had spaghetti carbonara. Service was friendly. The atmosphere was also okay. We were here two days ago and had a fish platter for two people. Everything was great.

Bei 3 Tagen Aufenthalt haben wir hier 2x gegessen und waren mehr als zufrieden: die Speisen gut bürgerlich und lecker, reichlich und im guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Trotz einer Glutenunverträglichkeit meiner Frau wurden beide Male gute Lösungen gefunden, vielen Dank dafür! Das Ambiente ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber schon irgendwie urig, der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Wer kein Sternerestaurant braucht ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben!

We ate here twice during our 3-day stay and were more than satisfied: the food was home-style and tasty, plentiful and good value for money. Despite my wife's gluten intolerance, good solutions were found both times, thank you very much for that! The ambience is a bit old, but somehow quaint, and the service is friendly and attentive. If you don't need a star restaurant, you're in good hands here!

The crab soup was not a soup, but more like a porridge!! Too salty. My friend's schnitzel was ok. The nuggets with fries were also ok. The Asian waiter/owner? Totally rude!!!! We will never go there again. And the prices are a disgrace.

Quaint little inn with super nice service and delicious food. We ate dinner here every day during our holiday week and were thrilled every day. Fantastic fish dishes and perfectly fried steak - we always felt welcome and comfortable and will definitely come back!! PS: The mustard sauce is awesome!!!!

Gemütliche old Fashion Einrichtung. Sehr Freundlich Empfangen worden. Super topp gezapftes Pils. Tolle Krabbensuppe genossen, danach eine Super gebratene Scholle Finkenwerder Art. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

The Deichklause is good middle class. The service is very attentive and friendly. The main courses were ok and you'll definitely be full. There are points of criticism for the side salad. This is tasteless and also somewhat carelessly prepared. The combination of turkey schnitzel and hollondaise is also not recommended for my taste - very difficult, the pepper sauce would be better here. We ordered them specially. Unfortunately there is no vegan food. Therefore only 3 to 3 1/2 stars

Since we came here spontaneously because the Stürhuus was closed despite having booked in advance, we were completely unbiased. The food was delicious 😋 (I suspect that some of it was convenience products) Nevertheless, it was tasty, the service was nice and attentive (1 man 'threw out' of the restaurant) Nice and quiet to sit outside... Everything is beautiful all around..

The ambience is clean and tidy, but frozen in time. Nevertheless, the two gentlemen (waitress) are super friendly and joking. My fish with North Sea crabs and fries instead of fried potatoes (change at no extra charge!) was very tasty and a great portion. One star deducted because of the thin salad dressing, which was really nothing. However, food was at the table quickly. You can't make a reservation, you just have to be early enough or you'll be waiting at the bar with a beer. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible.

Very attentive staff, both friendly, food arrived 10 minutes after ordering. The atmosphere is rustic and the beer garden is OK. We all had meat dishes, which were average. Salad wasn't that great, sauce was either stretched out or the broth was always so thin, I have no idea. Try it yourself...

Wir waren mit der Familir dort und hatten Fisch. Das Essen war okay. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger... Etwas wenig gewürzt und "lieblos" angerichtet, dafür relativ teuer. Wir würden nicht unbedingt nochmal dorthin gehen.

Delicious food that looks and tastes homemade. The pepper sauce for the pork medallions was definitely homemade. Unfortunately no card payment possible, which is not at all understandable these days and in a tourist town.

We were there to eat on the first day and again after 10 days, all I can say is that it is delicious, nice and hot and quickly on the table. Of all the other restaurants we visited in Bensersiel, the food tasted the tastiest. For me at the moment...thumbs up ;-)

This was my second time eating there and, like the first time, it was very tasty. The staff is also very friendly and was very quick with the delicious food at our table :) the schnitzel in the photo was a children's plate.

There were three of us in the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and all three of us enjoyed the food. I had fried pollack fillet with boiled potatoes and melted butter, I can only recommend it.

Nice service, good service. Fish with fried potatoes and North Sea crab was very good. Unfortunately, the asparagus in the pork fillet with asparagus was cold, so it only got 3 points.

The ambience was simple, the service was somewhat ok, but the food was really not good, everything was very greasy and sometimes way too much pepper and too expensive. Hardly any vegetarian options. It is also incomprehensible that card payments are not accepted here (as in the rest of the town).

We ordered a schnitzel, meatloaf and salmon fillet. Schnitzel and meatloaf were okay, but the salmon tasted like frozen salmon and I didn't expect that for almost €24. The men's toilet could have been cleaner so I didn't let my son use it. This notice from the service was met with surprise.

North Sea crabs with egg and fried potatoes are also really good. Well, side salad is just as usual up here, iceberg lettuce with some garnish. But fresh. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

We visited the Deichklause restaurant twice during our vacation. The restaurant was always busy. The staff was friendly and the waiting times were always short. The food was served quickly and was convincing. We particularly enjoyed the onion schnitzel with fried potatoes. On our next visit to Bensersiel we would like to stop at the Deichklause again.

The food is very tasty, freshly prepared and the portions are not too small. Fast and friendly service and short waiting times.

Unfortunately, I have to say that it was my worst visit to a restaurant ever. Unfortunately the plaice died twice, once in rancid fat, the shrimps were unfortunately simply sprinkled over it cold, and even the potatoes were inedible. The owner is nice, but unfortunately nothing could save it. €4.50 for a non-alcoholic shandy is also a hefty price that came with a dirty table (even though there was nothing going on and I was the only guest). All in all, unfortunately, a total failure.

Mein Mann und ich haben dieses Lokal schon öfters besucht, da wir ganz in der Nähe wohnen. Der Wirt ist ein ganz sympathischer, netter Mensch und seine Frau eine perfekte Köchin. Wenn ich Sonntags keine Lust habe zu kochen, bekommen wir dort ein Essen, das genau so gut schmeckt, als hätte man es frisch Zuhause gekocht. Frische Zutaten, geschmackvolle Gerichte, reichliche Auswahl (von Hackbraten über Fisch bis hin zu Pasta...), große Portionen zum kleinen Preis und freundliche Bewirtung machen diesen Laden für uns zu einem unserer Lieblingsrestaurants. Dieses Restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert!

My meal was good, fish fillet with fried potatoes, remolade and salad. The Matjes Hausfrau style was too powerful for my wife, the apple and cucumbers were cut way too big and the onions were missing in the sauce. The food came very quickly. The service was very friendly.
