Restaurant Zeus in Esens

Good selection of food and also very tasty. But the fact that all restaurateurs are now raising their prices extremely is a bit annoying, if not sickening. The latest increase is not plausible. I also shop at the wholesale market and the meat prices are actually the same as always. The restaurateur doesn't buy the top products from Mios anyway...

The best gyros in the world are only available here in Esens at Zeus.

Wir hatten das Musaka und einen Grillteller für 1 Person. Beide Portionen waren sehr groß und gut. Das Musaka war allerdings zu "mächtig" und fettig, sodass es insgesamt einfach "zu viel" war. Schönes Ambiente, freundliche Bedienung und gutes Essen, allerdings nicht sehr gut. Preis-Leistung hat aber gestimmt, sodass wir auch nochmal herkommen würden.

The restaurant is a bit hidden, but the food is really really tasty. Large portions and, above all, freshly prepared. Parking is easy everywhere around. It's nice to sit in the restaurant and there are also a few seats outside. Everything is clean and tidy. The employees are very friendly, I think a new employee was being trained during our visit so there was a bit of a problem but that was ok 😊 we'll be happy to come back

I got a spot unannounced as soon as the restaurant opened. Some guests after me with 2-4 people also had no problems. The service is very good and friendly. The quality of the food is also very good. Personally, I prefer the taste to be spicier, so I make a small deduction. This point cannot be assessed objectively and everyone has to decide for themselves. The price is within the usual range of a Greek restaurant. After 50 minutes of waiting, ordering, eating and paying, I was out again. There was an ouzo at the start and at the end.

Food is very tasty, very large portions. Unfortunately, there is not a single vegetarian dish on the menu (I don't count salad as a vegetarian dish).

Service staff was super friendly! The homemade tzatziki was super tasty, but the ratio to the bread wasn't right. The spaghetti was delicious and the portion fills you up. Unfortunately, the sauce from the Jägerschnitzel tasted like curry ketchup and we had to return it. Unfortunately, no fresh mushrooms were used in either dish.

Der Laden brummte, aber wir bekamen nach wenigen Minuten einen Tisch, als jemand bezahlte. Extrem nette Bedienung, super Essen. Wir hatten Artemisteller und Gyros mit dicken Bohnen. War alles sehr lecker, Fleisch außen kross und innen zart. Mit schönem Beilagensalat. Menge war äußerst reichlich für mich. Jederzeit wieder! + Ouzo ;-))

Well, what can I say. Simply great! The quality of the dishes and preparation were top! A very good attentive service without being intrusive rounded off this impression perfectly. There is an ouzo on the house before and after your meal. 5 out of 5 stars says it all. Food really good! Just try the onion soup first. Gyros, eggplant, Neptune plate, souvlaki, in short: highly recommended, all very tasty.

Be sure to reserve a table during high season. We have the pleasure of eating at this Greek restaurant relatively often because we have relatives in town. Everything on the menu is highly recommended. My favorite is the classic gyros with tzatziki and rice. The starters are great to share with a second person. A special one goes out to the service employees. Always attentive and friendly.

We were visiting and a table was reserved beforehand, which was also good. By 7 p.m. almost all tables were occupied. The service was very nice and friendly and cleaned the table straight away. The menu is not overloaded and everyone will find something, otherwise they can make a wish. After ordering, one ouzu can suit everyone. We were surprised that we didn't get a salad, but we didn't ask (which means one star less). The acoustics are very loud when all the tables are occupied, but it also has something to do with the old walls. Otherwise very nice. You can eat after a short time. The Neptune plate was not overloaded. The taste was just wonderful. The portion of fries for rice was also very sufficient. Unfortunately, the entrance from the street has stairs, so it is not suitable for disabled people. Unfortunately I only found normal toilets, but they were on the ground floor. Unfortunately I come from Bremen, otherwise I would like to eat there again. It's just a shame they forgot the salad. But otherwise... TOP

We forgot to make a reservation, but the young lady was very friendly. After a short time we were assigned a nice place. The employee was very friendly, attentive and very patient. Child friendly. The food was very tasty and large portions. We can only recommend it.

We are currently on holiday in Esens and were looking for a Greek restaurant and found it straight away. The menu is very extensive, but we quickly found something. There are several beers on tap and also other drinks for the ladies. The drinks, the appetizer and the obligatory salad came quickly and we had already gotten a lot. When the main course came, we were pleasantly surprised at how large and delicious the portions were. And it really tasted great. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs again and we had the rest packed up. We haven't eaten so well and extensively at a Greek restaurant for a long time. So we absolutely recommend it.

The food was again very good, but the salad dressing that was outstanding last time was no longer as good. I found it a little too watery. Price/performance was appropriate for today's times and just about acceptable, especially since there was an ouzo on the house before and after the meal. It was relatively loud inside, but there was no space left, so we had to sit outside in a covered passage. But that was completely okay.

We were at “Zeus” on Saturday and were thrilled. The tel. The reservation taker was very friendly and also pointed out to us that we were sitting at the counter, which wasn't a bad thing at all. Very tasty food, served quickly, friendly, personable service and very good value for money. Conclusion: highly recommended, but definitely reserve a table in advance.

This was best Greek food in my life. The food was very good. Service was very nice and friendly. We were also there with our dog, he was given water to drink straight away and the ambience was also very good and the price ratio is great because you can feel very comfortable with pets. Only three stars because I ate a schnitzel there, which was good. Would have liked to eat gyros but they ran out in the middle of the week. This shouldn't actually happen in a Greek restaurant, especially since it's offered in many dishes.

Despite not making a reservation, we were assigned a table for three people at 5:00 p.m. The first welcome ouzo and the menu arrived within a few minutes. The dishes were all very tasty and freshly prepared and tasted great. The quantities on the plates should be more than enough, even for good eaters. The service was very friendly and after the meal there was a second ouzo on the house to say goodbye to. Conclusion: Absolute top Greek restaurant with a great ambience! The 'Zeus' is highly recommended but you should definitely reserve a table!

We ended up here thanks to a recommendation from “Der Dampf-Bär”. The shop was well filled and all free tables were reserved. Nevertheless, they still found a place for our family of 5. The service was quick and friendly. Child-friendly too. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Special requests are also no problem. You can't complain about the prices.

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Die Portion war recht groß aber das Essen war leider fade und geschmacklos und ich hatte das Gefühl das das Souvlaki gar kein Gewürz abbekommen hatte und auch der Bifteki war eher ein liebloser, geschmackloser Fleischklops. Das Gyros fand ich zu krosch aber da weiß ich selber das der eine es lieber krosch mag und der andere nicht. Geschmacklich war nicht wirklich festzustellen das es griechisches Essen war. Beim Zaziki als Vorspeise gab es "Brotscheiben" dazu, die eher an ein billiges Aufbackbrötchen vom Discounter erinnerten als an schönes Brot vom Griechen. Bei meiner Frau war es leider auch nicht besser. Ihr Moussaka war am Rande schon angebrannt so dass sie sich zur Mitte hin durchaß in der Hoffnung das es besser wird. Wurde es aber nicht, so dass sie dann nicht mal die Hälfte aß und es dann der Servicekraft sagte und sie bat das Essen mitzunehmen. Die Servicekraft war sehr freundlich und daran interressiert meine Frau zufrieden zu stellen und fragte ob sie etwas anderes bringen solle aber mein Frau war nach der Erfahrung "satt". Mein Fazit: Nie wieder dieses Restaurant. Außer dem Service kann man dort leider nichts loben. Die 2 Punkte gab es wegen dem aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service. Das Essen hat keine zwei Punkte verdient.

January 2023 Simply great, my wife and I went here for dinner for the first time today. We arrived at 5 p.m. because we didn't make a reservation. Reception and service were very friendly, we got a table for two hours, which was enough for us. To be on the safe side, it's better to make a reservation. The food was plentiful and very tasty, we will definitely come back and can happily recommend the restaurant, the price and performance are right here, the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Super tasty food in a pleasant restaurant

A very clean restaurant, friendly welcome and very nice service. A very large selection of dishes, fast service, very large portions, which you won't be able to manage anymore Packed up upon request and you still have a portion for the next day. Everything we ate was very tasty. I would like to highlight the Greek fried potatoes with cheese gratin. They were extremely tasty and can hardly be found in other Greek restaurants. Both thumbs up for us! Will definitely come back!!

Ist halt ein griechisches Restaurant, nichts besonders. Essen war ok jedoch nichts für das ich wieder kommen würde.

Zum X mal im Restaurant Zeus in Esens und immer wieder leckere Speisen serviert bekommen, die Speisekarte nennt Gerichte wo es leicht fällt sich zu entscheiden, alles ist mit Liebe und Leidenschaft zubereitet. Servicekräfte sind nett,freundlich und flott. Andere positive Beratungen stimme ich in allem zu. Weiterso und Danke.

Es war ein voller Erfolg und es hat riesig Spaß gemacht hier einzukehren. Die Speisen waren sehr lecker und die Crew verstand ihr Handwerk. Wir waren heute zum Abendessen dort. Reservierung gerade am Wochenende ist Pflicht. Das Essen war wirklich gut und die Portionsgrössen für uns nicht zu schaffen. Meiner Frau waren die Teller viel zu überladen. Das Personal war leider teilweise etwas unbeholfen und schwierig zu verstehen, aber immer freundlich. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war für uns grenzwertig. Hauptgerichte ca. 10% teurer als z.B. beim besten Griechen in Essen, ok. Weine oder Vorspeisen aber locker 40% teurer, das geht leider gar nicht. Wir würden wieder hingehen, aber sehr gezielt bestellen.

We hadden niet gereserveerd maar gelukkig was er een tafeltje voor ons. Hartelijke ontvangst,gezellige bediening en heerlijk eten. Het zat er ook helemaal vol dus dat zegt genoeg! Fijn dat wij er mochten eten!
