The dining room exudes a sophisticated elegance, an ambience in which you as a guest immediately feel at home. The homely feeling is then reinforced by the friendly, communicative service man who acts quickly and attentively. Somehow he manages to make you feel like you are his personal guest and someone he takes special care of - even though we noticed that he behaved the same way with everyone else. So everything was right in the interpersonal menu, 5 stars! We each had different menus with wine accompaniment and were not only full, but also very satisfied. The portions were pleasing and you didn't feel like you were being taken for a ride, as you usually do in restaurants with this standard. The quality of the food was consistently good. However, we found the rocket salad with the pickled pear a bit too sweet. And the scallop was more convincing in its presentation than in its taste; here too, the creative blobs of sauce were simply too sweet. The meat in the main courses was absolutely perfect, as was everything that came with it in pretty arrangements. The desserts - sorbet and creme brulee - gave us a happy ending. We found the wines exceptional, and even a little bit better than the food (sorry) and we made some surprising discoveries. All in all: A quiet, elegant restaurant that serves very good food without a lot of chichi. The somewhat conventional dishes and the lack of sophistication are perhaps also a tribute to the audience of the small town in Lower Saxony.

The restaurant is familiar and down-to-earth. I had the Hermann Lörs steak (with turkey if requested), which came with cream mushrooms and excellent fried potatoes. However, the food itself was just standard and in my opinion not worth the high prices. The liver really had a lot of onions, which was good and the courtyard is quite cozy.

We have been coming to Celle on and off for many years and always look forward to a visit to the wine cellar. So far we have always been satisfied, regardless of whether it was full or empty. Today, however, our visit was underground. We had chosen the cheese platter to start with and planned to order something else afterwards. However, when we were asked when we ordered whether that was all, we lost our desire for more. The cheese selection was very good, but the bread served with it was unfortunately old. In the end we went to another restaurant to satisfy our hunger. It's a shame that you're no longer welcome there as an unknown guest and the waitress, whoever the lady was, was only friendly to people you knew. We will definitely not recommend this basement again. That's really a pity

Price-performance ratio is absolutely great. Beautiful home cooking and a lovely rustic ambience. The service was super friendly. Reservations in good time are recommended. Contrary to some reviews, it didn't smell musty or like cigarette smoke. We'll definitely be back.
