I'll come again, the food was delicious.

There were two of us, and we had a reservation on a Saturday evening. It would have been difficult to get in without one, as all the tables were occupied. And for good reason, it turned out. The food, from appetizer to dessert, was absolutely delicious and of excellent quality. The ambiance is rustic, yet cozy. It actually reminded us a little of a restaurant in Prague. The service was outstanding. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious, with very generous portions. The prices seemed extremely reasonable. The delicious Czech beer also deserves a mention. Furthermore, the food was served very quickly, even though the restaurant was quite busy. The waitresses were efficient, extremely friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended.

This was our first time dining there for a company dinner with clients (a total of 12 people). The selection of drinks and food was excellent; there was something for everyone. I haven't eaten this well in a long time... During a vacation in Celle, I wanted to try this restaurant. I went there spontaneously without a reservation, but had to wait half an hour because the place was packed, so I recommend making a reservation. I managed to get a seat at the counter later, which was just what I needed that evening. The waiters were very friendly, superbly coordinated, and more than diligent. I ordered a Pilsner Urquell, which was served properly (with a proper crown), an appetizer of cheese and ham sandwiches and a salad, and for the main course, the roast pork with Bohemian cabbage and fried dumplings. Finally, a chef who isn't afraid of spices. The meat was tender as butter, the cabbage was sloppy yet still had a bite, and the dumplings were excellent. Absolutely top notch! If I'm ever here again, you'll see me again, that's for sure.

The food, with its seasonally updated menu, is always impressive. You receive a warm welcome and excellent service. We really like the rustic look of the dining room. A must-try when visiting Celle!

The food was excellent, and, considering inflation, reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the location was also very cozy. The only thing we didn't completely like was that we were sitting very close to the next table, almost together. However, this was unavoidable given the limited space. We really enjoyed it, thank you!

We were at Schwejk with nine people. The food is first-class. Whether goulash, roast pork, Prague ham, or vegetarian, every dish was exceptionally good in both taste and texture. The portions are very generous! Pilsner Urquell on tap and a selection of excellent wines complement the dishes perfectly. The service is very friendly without being intrusive. The ambiance is fittingly rustic. A restaurant where you feel at home.

The food is delicious. Reasonable value for money. We sat on the balcony, so the noise level was very pleasant. It was very loud inside the restaurant. I would recommend cleaning the seat cushions more regularly. The staff was very friendly. The service was well-paced. We really enjoyed it and will be back.

Absolutely recommended! Very friendly, young service team! The chef/head chef introduced himself personally and gave insights into the processes and conception of the dishes. A truly great team, a very rustic, cozy, and harmonious restaurant design. And last but not least: the dishes were absolutely impeccable, typically Bohemian, using fresh, regional ingredients! The value for money is absolutely excellent. I can't understand the negative reviews at all.

Super tasty and friendly service

A bad experiment, we was waiting 50 minuts for a so called wiener schnitzel, 2 pieces of Meat with pomme frities. Not fried potatoes and ansjovits, Capris fefferroth, and melted butter. I asked for the cook, showed him picture of a autentic wiener schnitzel, he grow angry and show a fyring pan, and told that what he used, I mentioned it's alone make no schnitzel, the badest meal we have had in wonderful Celle. We spontaneously stopped by Schwejík in Celle and absolutely didn't regret it! The food: really good, down-to-earth home cooking – simple but perfectly prepared. That's exactly what you need to be able to do! We also had Czech beer, which was simply fantastic in the warm weather. The service was super friendly and attentive. Even though we came without a reservation on a Friday, we still got a table thanks to a missed booking – our luck! Drinks were refilled promptly, so we were never left wanting. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the very next evening – and that really says it all. If you're in Celle: Go to Schwejík! Absolutely recommended! 🍻

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant. While the food was very tasty, the portions were extremely small. It simply wouldn't satisfy the average eater. Upon inquiry, we learned that the chef had miscalculated when purchasing. To simply reduce the portions at the customer's expense is a rather brazen move. The least we would have expected from the chef in response to our complaint would have been an apology and some small compensation. But alas, that didn't materialize. The genuinely friendly, but unfortunately pitiful, service staff couldn't salvage the situation.

Stor skuffelse - efter venlig modtagelse og betjening, fik vi 2 skiver lækkert brød med smør efter bestillingen var afgivet og drikkevarerne kom også hurtigt. Men så gik det den forkerte vej, vi ventede ca. 50 minutter på vores mad. Betjeningen havde travlt og det havde køkkenet også, men ingen information om hvornår maden var klar, faktisk var det tydeligt at tjenerne undgik os. Da maden endelig kom var sulten stor. Maden, kalveschnitzel med håndlavede stegte kartofler og lam med kantareller og mos. Schnitzlen svarede til cafeteria mad, helt okay, hvis prisen var den samme. Lammets gode smag blev overdøvet af bacon og fedt, var også en skuffelse til prisen. Men vi var sultne og spiste maden og på tjenerens forespørgsel om alt var ok, sagde vi ja, det var ikke til at overskue at vente knap en time på nyt mad. Tjeneren beklagede, da hun hentede tallerkenerne.

As a former Celle resident, I chose this restaurant for our birthday celebration with our friends from Celle, where I've been several times in the past. Even under the new management, it was a pleasure to be here: delicious Bohemian-style food and very friendly service. We'll be back.

Die Beschreibung „Bodenständige Küche“ auf der Homepage des Restaurants Schwejk hat mich neugierig gemacht. Was ist damit gemeint? Nach dem Besuch des Restaurants bin ich schlauer. Ich habe selbst erfahren, wie gut selbst hergestellte Fritten schmecken und was mit regionaler Küche genau gemeint ist. Ich habe als Hauptgericht eine Lüneburger Wildcurrywurst mit handgemachten Heide-Fritten zu mir genommen und war begeistert. Die Portion war ausreichend und geschmacklich erstklassig. Bei meinem nächsten Besuch werde ich den Frühlingssalat mit Hirtenkäse und einem Dressing auf Apfelbasis zu mir nehmen. Das habe ich mir fest vorgenommen. Beim Blick auf den Nachbartisch hatte ich dieses Gericht entdeckt. Abschließend möchte ich noch darüber berichten, dass die Servicekraft sehr freundlich und fachkundig war. Danke für einen gemütlichen Abend in netter Atmosphäre.

This is hospitality! We had visitors from Berlin. The question came up: where should we eat in Celle? This reminded me of Schwejk, which I remembered from before. Admittedly, we hadn't been there in ages and were excited. A quick phone call and we reserved a table, completely easy and as if we knew each other well. We immediately noticed that the ownership had changed when we studied the menu. The selection is straightforward. But that's perfectly fine for us. I'd rather have fewer dishes on the menu, but freshly prepared, than restaurants with menus of over 20 dishes but then be served frozen products. The food was absolutely top-notch, the service very friendly and Helge conjured up the best goulash I've ever eaten. I was skeptical at first because it was beef. But it was as tender as butter, so it melts in your mouth. Keep up the good work, Helge. We'll be back!

Two of us were there. We got a table without a reservation. The food was great. The staff was very friendly. Nice atmosphere! The only thing that annoyed me was that I had to wait a long time for the change. (I understand it's busy.) But I don't understand why card payments are served first, rather than those who want to pay with cash. That may be petty, but it bothered me a lot.

Truly excellent in every respect. Tucked away in a back courtyard, you can sit inside or outside. A small menu, but high-quality food in large quantities at fair prices. Both the main course—in our case, veal schnitzel and Prague ham—and the dessert (pancakes) were impressive, featuring good, homemade, Bohemian fare. Next time I'm in Celle, I'll be back at Schwejk.

I didn't think the price-performance ratio was right; the amount of asparagus was relatively small and the schnitzel was very thin. I wasn't asked what sauce I wanted (hollodaise or melted butter).

Lamb chop was fried to death, the best thing about the place was the beer, special requests were only reluctantly accepted, waiting time for the food was 60 minutes.

Last week we had a fantastic meal in Prague. The food at Schwejk easily competed with it. A super authentic pub in the heart of Lower Saxony. I love it!

Två av oss beställde schnitzel och den va dunder, men dyr. Denna va också . ok Men hollandaisesåsen var mid, den saknade syra och behöver mer smör. Jag beställde en beef gulasch och den var supergod, men bread dumpnings föll mig inte i smaken. Det var också kul att testa en ny cola som inte var coca cola eller pepsi (fritz-cola)!!!

Das Lokal ist gemütlich, das Essen sehr gut und der Service sehr freundlich. Ich habe mich auch alleine im Restaurant sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Kellnerinnen sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Ich würde eine Reservierung empfehlen.

Quaint Czech restaurant in the middle of Celle's old town. We were there with 10 people. Be sure to make a reservation as the restaurant is not big! Everyone was thrilled about the ambience, the friendly service, the quality of the food and the delicious Czech beer on tap!

This place is a real find, it’s tucked away behind the shopping street, next to the market hall and up a flight of steps. Once you arrive, you are in the most atmospheric restaurant in Celle. The food was freshly prepared and all delicious. April is asparagus season, so when in Germany…. It’s very popular, so book in advance

Nun ja... die Preise sind das eine: Schnitzel mit Frittes und kleinem Salat für 34 €. Da erwartet man dann schon etwas mehr. = Qualität: unterer Durchschnitt. Schweinebraten mit gebratenen Knödeln: komplett überwürzt. In rauchiger Sauce ertränkt. Convenience-Zutaten, die man nicht nur schmeckt.... Insgesamt keine Empfehlung. Böhmische Küche nicht verstanden.

1A! Everything is really done right here. You can hardly find such excellent cuisine in Celle anymore. German cuisine almost no longer exists. But this “formerly German-Austrian-Hungarian-Bohemian” cuisine, offered so authentically and lovingly, is world class. My absolute recommendation.

Great restaurant with good but not too expensive food. There's also a good drinks menu and a very hospitable host who obviously enjoys seeing the guests like it. This makes going to a restaurant fun. The atmosphere is cozy, but people sit quite close together, which is due to the limited space.
