Today we were in Schwejk for the first but definitely not the last time. A bit hidden location but really highly recommended. The furnishings are lovingly designed and the atmosphere is homely. Of course there is also delicious food, Topinky is highly recommended for garlic lovers. There are usually diced ham included, but for vegetarians it is also possible without ◡̈ The employees are all very friendly and warm.

Four of us ate there on Friday and really enjoyed it. Not only was the food very tasty and visually appealing, the ambience of the restaurant was also harmonious. Furthermore, the open manner of the co-owner who waited tables for us was very refreshing, informative and Binding. A clear recommendation from us.

I knew the "Schweijk" from my childhood because I grew up in Celle and my parents took us there on special occasions. I haven't been there in decades because I moved to the south of Germany a long time ago. Now I reserved a table for my daughter and myself. I already pointed out in the request that I am an allergy sufferer and a vegetarian and therefore cannot tolerate everything. The answer was prompt, very detailed and reassuring! Of course they would adapt to my needs in the kitchen, and the food is freshly cooked, so I wouldn't have to worry. They also suggested several dishes to me, also so that I could see that I would not be reduced to side dishes, as is usually the case. So cute! We arrived and, even though we were a little early, were warmly greeted and sat outside on the balcony. It's a shame that the passage from before hasn't exactly developed into an advantage, it looks a bit dingy when you look down, but the family that runs the "Schwejk" can't do anything about that! So, look upwards at the surrounding framework or the blue sky... The waiter was incredibly friendly and assured us again in detail that they would accommodate our wishes, also because I had previously written about my bad garlic allergy. We then ordered a veal schnitzel with handmade heather fries, cranberries and tartar sauce for my daughter and Bramboraky (potato and onion pancakes) with cucumber salad for me. All I can say is it tasted AMAZING!!! Vegetarian dishes are often very bland, especially in restaurants where they are seen as a "must have" - ​​no real effort is put into the preparation, it often seems to me... In Schwejk the opposite was the case! So spicy and extraordinarily different, a taste explosion on the tongue, the buffers; Refreshing, just right with it, delicately flavored with dill and lemon, the cucumber salad - wonderful on this warm day!!! My daughter was happy with her schnitzel! We ordered a "senior portion" because this size is somewhere between a "children's plate" and a normal portion... but it turned out to be very large. I couldn't believe that she ate it all! It was simply too delicious!!!! Her best schnitzel she had ever eaten was her conclusion! Finally, we each received a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream with a few fresh blueberries, which, by the way, were not on the menu - the waiter again spontaneously responded to our wishes because we didn't want to order a massive dessert, which we would have had after this fantastic one We certainly couldn't finish the main course either - and so he suggested this little, sweet ending. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Celle and recommend this exceptional restaurant! A real pearl between all the restaurants with their sometimes very unfriendly staff who are quickly annoyed by special requests and food that somehow always tastes the same and clearly fails in terms of price-performance ratio. Everything is perfect at Schweik!!! Many thanks to the entire team and especially to our waiter, we felt extremely comfortable with you, a really worthy farewell dinner for our short vacation in my old hometown!

We had reserved a table for 10 people, arrived a little late, which wasn't a problem. The food was excellent, you could hear the schnitzel being made. All the food was served at the same time, sauce was added on our own initiative, perfect. The hosts were very friendly and had a few funny sayings without being intrusive. If we come to Celle again we will definitely stop at Schweijk again. Thank you again for the lovely evening

All the positive reviews say far too little. It was a real experience today. Competent wine advice from the owner. The garlic soup is a taste experience. The main courses are typical cuisine and simply brilliant. Dessert is a delight. 5 stars are simply not enough. Keep it up.

After a few recommendations, I was a guest at Schwejk for the first time on Monday and felt very well looked after. The service was very good and the employees were friendly. The Topinky and the wild currywurst were super tasty. We ate outside on the balcony in the best weather. We'll be back very soon :)

The only downside was the ambience on the balcony, but only because of the view of a relatively run-down "lounge" in the neighboring restaurant. This limited the nice ambience. The food was really tasty, but also very expensive. The portions are very small, so if you're hungry, it's better to eat something beforehand or go to another place with more humane prices afterwards.

We were there on March 4th. (Mon) in the evening for dinner with you. We remember the many visits to the "Schwejk Restaurants" in Memmingen and Celle in the 80s/90s. We were welcomed and served very friendly. The roast of Behrendorfer Landschwein was very tender and the edge was crispy, the gravy was very tasty. The “Crazy Kiss with Goat Cheese” was fresh and very well prepared. After so many years again at Schwejk - a poem of food and ambience - gladly again

As Czechs, we were a bit sad to not find any. We were all the more positively surprised by the excellent cuisine. The garlic soup tasted like it came from home. The Prague ham as a main course is also highly recommended here. We found the prices more than justified for the high quality and great service and can recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes good, hearty food.

We came here on a recommendation! Very quaint restaurant with matching decoration! Friendly service and really good and hearty food, well seasoned and tasty. Price-performance ratio suits me. Two starters, two main courses and two desserts plus a total of five drinks for 55 euros per person is completely fine, especially if the ambience and service are perfect. We spontaneously went out to eat there because of the very good reviews 4.8*. The atmosphere is super inviting and the service is attentive and friendly. The first thing we noticed was bread with garlic butter. The bread was delicious, but unfortunately the butter was extremely hard and couldn't be spread at all. As a starter, garlic soup, which I think was delicious but a bit too salty, the main course was veal schnitzel with homemade fries, the schnitzel was tasty but at €29 it was definitely way too expensive, the fries could have been good, but they were in for far too long the deep fryer and burnt, a shame because we were really looking forward to very good food. I can only partly understand all the good reviews here, because it was far from what we expected.

Completely consistent and recommended! The ambience matches the menu and the young, committed team ensures the appropriate hospitality that makes you feel good. The open-minded and warm manner in dealing with the guests makes it worth coming back. This is exactly why it is advisable to plan a little more time than for a normal restaurant visit. The team is polite and respectful when dealing with the guests and therefore no one is pressured to vacate their table even though the subsequent reservation has already been made. Instead, drinks are offered at the bar, whether before or after the meal. Even as a waiting guest, you don't feel offended but feel comfortable. The food is not only predominantly regional but also perfectly prepared. Due to the high quality of the dishes, the menu is kept very small. Despite the few courts, it is difficult to make a decision. However, the staff will also answer any questions you may have about the individual offers. However, the competence, authenticity and love for one's own cuisine does not make the decision on a dish any easier. :-) The dishes are nicely presented and the portions are a good size. The staff arrives quickly and is very attentive when it comes to reordering etc., but without being intrusive. Even if more alcohol is unplanned at the table next door due to the relaxed atmosphere, the staff will take care of a taxi confirmation. One more tip to end this review. It's really full from Friday afternoon onwards, but if you want a quieter and more comfortable meal, you're better served during the week. Kudos to the entire team, keep it up and please maintain the quality of service and cuisine.

A really great restaurant. The Schweijk theme is unique, as is the rustic decor of the restaurant. There are only a few dishes, but they have it all. The owner is super friendly and you can tell that a lot of passion goes into the restaurant.

Schwejk absolutely convinced me with its delicious Viennese veal schnitzel. The portion was generous and the meat was tender and juicy. There was also crispy handmade heather fries - simply perfect! Not only was the food great, the service was also excellent. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, making you feel completely comfortable.

Hier stimmt einfach alles, die Küche ist ein Gedicht, die Qualität der Speisen ist exzellent und die Herkunft der Produkte insbesondere des Fleisches ist regional und transparent! Der Service ist perfekt und trotzdem familiär, kurz gesagt wir fühlen wirklich sehr wohl und genießen jeden Besuch.

Während unseren Besuches in Celle haben wir den Schwejk besucht. Der Empfang war freundlich und nett, Die Karte klein, dafür alles frisch. Wir waren alle vom leckeren Essen und dem tollen Service begeistert. Klasse Restaurant, gerne wieder

Absolut nette Atmosphäre und sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung.Und das bei kompletter Auslastung. Das geht nicht viel besser. Als Vorspeise haben wir uns das Tatar und einen Beilagensalat geteilt. Insbesondere das Tatar absolut empfehlenswert. Als Hauptgang hatte meine Frau die Roulade und war absolut zufrieden. Sowohl der Rotkohl, als auch der Weißkohl waren sehr lecker. Ich hatte die vermeintliche Freilauf-Ente. Die Beilagen auch hier sehr gut. Von der Ente war ich allerdings enttäuscht. Für 34,50 ein wenig verbrannte Haut und etwas zu viel Salz. Zudem war das bestenfalls eine Keule. Hier stimmt (auch was wir sonst an Gerichten über den Tresen gehen sahen) als einziges Gericht das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis in meinen Augen nicht (trotz Freiland). Als Nachtisch hatten wir den Palatschinken und den Powidl. Das war geschmacklich in Ordnung, aber schien eher vorbereitet und nicht frisch gemacht. Die unterschiedlichen Biere waren auch sehr lecker. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Abend und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Ich habe vorher schon viel gutes gehört, und habe daraufhin unsere Weihnachtsfeier mit 9 Personen dort geplant und ich würde absolut nicht enttäuscht, im Gegenteil. Wir sind zwar selten in Celle, aber wenn, dann ist das Schwejk immer unser Lieblings-Restaurant. Auch am 30.11. war alles wieder perfekt: Service, Speisen und Ambiente. Ein kleines Manko: Die Geräuschkulisse bei voll besetztem Restaurant. Das liegt aber an den Gästen.

Tolles Restaurant (auf Empfehlung des Hotels) - urig, gemütlich, sehr herzlicher Empfang, toller Aufmerksamkeit des Service, kleine ABER echt gute Speisekarte. Die Qualität ist ausgezeichnet, die Quantität mehr als genug. Und wer noch Wert auch einen Absacker legt, dem empfehle ich den Sauerkirschenlikör - echt lecker. Prädikat - ABSOLUT besuchen, aber vorher reservieren. und daran denken: man geht nicht ins Scheijk wenn man Sterneküche möchte sondern für gute, bodenständige und sehr schmackhafte Küche.

Außer Topinki und böhmische Knödel erinnert nichts mehr an die bewährte böhmische Speisekarte. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Das Ambiente und der Service war aber sehr gut.

Sorry aber ich habe dann doch mehr erwartet nachdem ich "selbstgemacht "und die Preise gesehen habe, z.b. die Rinderroulade Teller, Klacks Karzoffelbrei, Rouladen in den Kartoffelbrei gesetzt , bischen Sosse, Rotkohl, also nichts fürs Auge und bei Hunger gerade ausreichend .

Alle Erwartungen erfüllt. Die Roulade mit dem unfassbar leckeren Rotkohl und dem Kartoffelbrei mit genau der richtigen Konsistenz (nicht durchpüriert) leben natürlich auch vom Fett als Gewürzträger. Aber nicht jeder Magen verträgt das locker.

Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft, aber könnte etwas mehr sein. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, einfach zum wohlfühlen.
