We went to Osterberger with a large group for the second and last time. On the day of the appointment we received a very unfriendly email asking us to immediately confirm the order. The food was bad and the price was inappropriate. The service was friendly but untrained. The toilets were a disaster, they stank and the towel baskets were overflowing. The bill was given as an information bill, and only after intensive inquiries was an official bill issued.
It's really nice to sit there. The service is by far the best I know. So pleasant!!! The food is also always consistently very good. I really like going there.
A recommended restaurant away from any trendy gastronomy. We dined on excellent roast goose in a cozy atmosphere with perfect service. We also recommend taking a look at the website; there are promising culinary themed evenings. Thank you very much!
So far we've "only" had lunch several times, but that alone is of the highest quality and at €9.90 (including good espresso) it's actually way too cheap.
The chef absolutely knows what he's doing, the service is quick, attentive and friendly, and the ambience is rather fine, but at the same time relaxed and nice. The open kitchen (without smells spreading into the dining room) also contributes a lot to the comfort and atmosphere.
You definitely have to go there in the evenings, even if the prices are significantly higher. But since the cooking there is very good, that's appropriate.
That's why again: Thanks for the affordable and always great lunch! We appreciate that

UPDATE July 29th, 2024: unfortunately now permanently closed without notice! Restaurant was being emptied by people I didn't know as I walked past. When I asked, this was confirmed. If I understood that correctly, this also comes as a surprise to the previous operators, who 10 days ago only took the vacation that was usual at the time and was also announced.
I'll update if anything changes.
The food is okay and the place is nicely decorated. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. and were suddenly and without warning thrown out at 8:00 p.m. with the words: the music is starting soon and either we order something or the seats have to be made free for new guests. The strange thing was that when we left the restaurant, most of the tables were empty and not reserved. Very unfriendly staff, I won't go there again.
It's a very nice hotel. We stayed overnight and had breakfast. right in the center. We were able to walk to the Theater des Westens, the Memorial Church and the KaDeWe.
Lots of regular customers who come here for lunch. If there's something out of the ordinary, everyone wants to eat the same thing and it's over before 3 p.m.
That's why the owners apparently pay a lot of attention to the order in which people enter the café and who is a regular customer. So I was demoted again at the counter because I had pushed my way forward, and another customer was preferred, who, as I observed, only had a table closer, but was less determined than me to order. This was corrected by the owners, which was very unpleasant for me as a guest.
When I ordered, the dish that was apparently most requested that day (the last three portions were being prepared) was gone and only the usual pasta, quiche, etc. remained.
Addendum: Thanks for the great time! I will remember the evenings here forever! It was a real pleasure.
We had dinner here a few weeks ago, but it was so special that it still sticks in my mind. The owner cooks himself and he does it incredibly well. I had the Coq au Vin, I highly recommend it. The atmosphere and hospitality are very warm. We'd love to come back.
Sometimes the food isn't even warm, the desserts are often on the wrong side of the expiry date and the prices are significantly too high depending on the dish. Not recommended
We are a group of winegrowers from France and wanted to trust Julia by starting a collaboration with her but the invoice was never paid. She doesn't respond to email or phone when we try to follow up with her. It's not very ethical not to pay winegrowers...
