Great restaurant experience. The food was really good and the selection was very varied. Sitting outside is also pleasant due to the quiet side-street location. I would absolutely recommend it.

We ordered fish and it was fried with so much seed oil i could taste that more than the fish. Steak also tasted like that same Rapseed oil and the sauce had so much coloring it was unreal how thick it was. Also the table next to us got the same dish but twice as big - had they just run out of steak?? Ordered some ceviche too but it was very cold and watery and probably already kept in the fridge for some days so definitely not fresh. It's the third time im there and unfortunately it's been the same issue. so DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. this restaurant is in a good location and has fancy-looking atmosphere with a good wine selection (which is what probably sells most together with cocktails) but the food is highly overrated and overpriced for what it actually is. Would be better if at least the portions were larger - not that i would like them - but just to be fair to your customers (that could like your food). ps. i also went to the wc and passing by the kitchen i realized it also smells like chemicals and tabaco. not coming back here again.

Yes, one can criticize the prices here, but ultimately, the Osterberger impresses with good food and friendly service, even if it sometimes seems a bit semi-professional. The seating is pleasant, both inside and outside, and the owners create a pleasant, hospitable atmosphere. If you want to spend a pleasant evening with a friendly, refreshingly normal clientele and delicious food and wine, the Osterberger is a good place to go.

What a night... We waited two hours for our food. The fries were completely burnt, the sauce on the steak had dried from the heat lamp, and to top it all off: the waiter apologized perfectly and reduced the bill, but the maitre d'd, who was summoned, refused to appear and left his staff in the lurch. Absolutely unacceptable!

We were very disappointing at lunch. The salad was partially wilted and soggy, the steak was greasy and poorly cooked. The fries were a complete disaster. The water bottle (water costs €6) was completely dirty inside, and there were pieces floating in the water. In the end, all drinks were waived.

This was our first time at Osterberger and we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The pleasant atmosphere and the very friendly and competent service immediately made us realize we were in the right place and would spend a pleasant evening. And we were not disappointed. Whether it was a cocktail, appetizer, main course, dessert, or wine recommendation, everything was simply delicious and harmonious. We were particularly pleased with the variety of the food on offer, which included meat/fish and delicious vegan delicacies. All of this was presented on a small, clear bistro menu at fair prices. We were completely satisfied and would gladly return. Update: We were here again 8 months later and were just as impressed as the last time. We have rarely felt so welcome and at home as we did here. Update 06/2025 Walk in, feel comfortable, enjoy, and go home after 3 hours with a smile, a good mood, and completely satisfied.

As of 12:30 today, the restaurant was closed. What a shame.

This is a truly wonderful neighborhood restaurant. There's so much to love! The food is excellent, the staff are lovely, and the music is great. I especially enjoyed the fresh white asparagus from a local farm - it was utterly delicious!

Die Speisekarte ist angenehm übersichtlich gehalten, so dass auch alles frisch ist. Und das Essen ist geschmacklich ganz hervorragend. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und in Bezug auf Wein und Getränkeauswahl sehr hilfreich und kompetent. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner und entspannter Abend mit sehr guter Küche.

The service was great and really impressed us. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the only thing that bothered us was the light being too bright (making it uncomfortable) and the temperature. I think 20 degrees is really too cold if you want to eat comfortably and without a thick sweater. The food was quite tasty, but honestly not really convincing for the price. My salmon tartare was very bland (I had to season it heavily) and my cod was unfortunately dry and tough. An improvement would also be to offer cheese with dessert. Not everyone likes something sweet. When I asked, they first said there was no cheese and then the waitress brought some, which was also very tasty. Then you could put it directly on the map. But a great wine selection. In this respect, overall there is still room for improvement.

We were at Osterberger for the second and last time with a large group. On the day of the appointment, a very unfriendly email came asking me to confirm the order again immediately. The food was bad and the price was unreasonable in comparison. Service friendly but unskilled. Toilets were a disaster, it stank and the baskets for towels were overflowing. The invoice was issued as an information invoice; an official invoice was only created after intensive inquiries.

Lovely service, if a little slow. Nice looking place, very quiet, great for conversation. Unfortunately, the food, while perfectly plated amd very photogenic, is quite bland. Definitely doesn't meet expectations set by the photos or the price point.

Our visit was okay, but not convincing for the price. The service started quite well, but then declined significantly. We often sat at the table for a long time with empty wine glasses or empty plates.

Hemos tenido experiencias positivas aquí en el pasado, pero nos quedamos decepcionados esta vez. El servicio era bastante lento (debido a la limitación de personal) y no ofrecía reembolso por una participación claramente insuficiente. En general, la relación calidad-precio era notablemente más pobre de lo que había sido en nuestra última visita y los precios de nuestra red en comparación con restaurantes poco similares en Berlín.

Unfortunately, our overall visit to this restaurant was a bit disappointing. Although the ambience is chic, it lacks a cozy atmosphere as there is no music playing in the background. We were there for almost 3 hours, which was mainly due to the long wait between courses. The service also left a lot to be desired - we had to wait a long time for our wine to be refilled, and overall both the service and the kitchen were very slow. As for the food, unfortunately there were only a few vegan/vegetarian alternatives on the menu. Additionally, after ordering, we were informed that one of the main courses was sold out. The starters were okay, although I found a worm in my oysters, which was a real low point for me. The goose leg, on the other hand, was excellent, while the gnocchi only tasted mediocre. The desserts were unfortunately subpar - they were poorly presented and very bland. The vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil, which sounded promising, was particularly disappointing: the pumpkin seeds weren't even warmed up in the pan. The two espressos we had at the end were also only lukewarm and without crema - which shouldn't happen with a portafilter machine unless the coffee has stood for a long time. Overall, the experience was disappointing and unfortunately the price-performance ratio was not right for us.

A really lovely restaurant, excellent vibe and crowd, the staff are very sweet and care about their food, the service and the restaurant. We reserved on a busy Saturday evening and it was very popular. Tasty artichoke soup for starters and moules main course for one of us which were done perfectly and mushroom gnocchi for the others. The sauce on the gnocchi tasted really good and the mushrooms were amazing. Highly recommend.

Pleasant service and very tasty food. Both my wife, a vegan, and I, who have a much broader background, got their money's worth. After the starter, main course and dessert, I was not only very satisfied but also full. And still ordered more, simply because it tasted good.

Toilet smells like urine. Food not great but very expensive. Goose was tough, red cabbage was too salty and potato dumplings were dry. Dessert boring. Why?

We went to Osterberger for the first time yesterday and had a great evening. The service was very courteous, friendly and guided us well through the evening. We liked the starters the best. The Brussels sprouts and steak tartare were wonderful! The main courses were also very good, but the dessert was a bit lacking. Great neighborhood restaurant! You get the feeling that everyone knows each other. :D We'll definitely be back!

The service starts promisingly and quickly declines as the restaurant becomes more crowded. This becomes noticeable when refilling the drinks or ordering more. The kitchen also has timing problems - very long waiting times between courses. What is sent from the kitchen is very good and attractively prepared.

Friday evening at Osterberger. The place was moderately full. Very diverse map without being overloaded. Everyone will find something here. The selection of open wines is also quite good. What's wrong is the timing. The wait for the aperitif was quite long, as was the break between the starter and the main course. Would we come again? Not so much given the selection of restaurants in this price range in Berlin.

We had a wonderful evening at the bar with perfect drinks (also great non-alcoholic drinks) and fantastic bar food.

Carefully put together menu, also skilfully prepared, German and French, classic with pep. Wine selection a bit strange, not quite suitable for the food. Attentive service despite the occasional wait in a half-empty restaurant, perhaps due to the holidays. Certainly one of the better and local addresses in this otherwise tourist-oriented restaurant in the district. Good for a dignified evening with friends.

For me, Osterberger is almost like coming home. You are always enveloped in the friendly atmosphere and the wonderful ambience and can look forward to a wonderful evening. The cocktails are excellent, the wines are selected. The menu is pleasantly clear and seasonal. So far all the dishes have convinced me. So there is more than one reason to come back.

Surprised this was open on a saturday night. Food/Beef Was excellent as was the fish of the day. Great bartender who did a nice job crafting cocktails to our liking. Excellent food off the german map when you need a break.

We were there on May 25th. with friends for dinner there. After the MMW concert the evening before, the visit to Osterberger was a second highlight of our visit to Berlin. As Munich residents, we are spoiled with culinary delights and our expectations were absolutely met. The “cherry on the cake” were the excellent drinks (Pisco Sour!!). The evening became an extraordinary experience thanks to the authentic, personal manner of the two owners and their employees. We felt like we were at friends' homes.

One of the best steaks I had along with innovative and delicious starters. Beautiful ambiance and great service as well.

Ambitious cuisine with a French touch. Beautifully prepared plates, excellent wine recommendations from the very charming waitress for the main course. Small point of criticism: My entrecôte was a bit small and over-seasoned and the béarnaise sauce was quite cold. Anyone who cooks knows how difficult it is to get them warm on the plate. It's a shame that this highly recommended restaurant was so uncrowded on a Tuesday! Maybe that's because of the high prices?

We were there for a company event. It was a really nice evening with great food, great team and good drinks. It was a pleasure.

Large bright and clear space. Extremely friendly reception There were 8 people at the large table. Still the "old" map - but very diverse. Tartar with pickled egg and asparagus in tempura with wasabi mayo (vegan) are definitely recommended! The “crunchy/crunchy?” Eggplant not so much...if the service hadn't sold it as a surprise...it wouldn't have been chosen. Unfortunately disappointing - there is no value for money here. Still full marks because the other dishes were even tastier. Dessert portions could even be smaller - delicious! Great kitchen team! Extremely friendly service. Good wine (I was missing natural wine - well, maybe mainstream, especially in the corner - you can't have everything 😉) I'll be back 😀

Dear Osterberger, if you want your guests to have a good time with you, then - don't serve a mountain of raw leeks as a side dish (who wants to eat that?!?) - don't fry innocent eggplants in tempura so that they look like fried fish (the eye eats too) - don't put a huge bouquet of lilies in your vase or at least cut off the pistils - Your staff should familiarize themselves with the menu and the wine - offer your guests more comfortable chairs than these wooden bistro chairs Sorry, but that wasn't convincing.

We were in Berlin for a few days with my wife. Looking around at Michelin restaurants, compared to the UK the prices were double for much the same thing. So I looked on the Michelin guide and found this place. Service, food, ambiance and prices were all great. Food arguably tastier than actual Michelin food I've had.

We had the great pleasure of being with a group of wonderful people for the Family & Friends Dinner to get hold of a table that was elegantly and festively set for us. Starting with the invigorating welcome crémant, followed by an excellent foccacia, the tasty olives, a coq au vin in Burgundy braised with mushrooms and la ratte potatoes, with the best sauce I have tasted in a long time, for my vegan friends Very enjoyable dish with baked tofu with miso espuma, green asparagus and carrots, not only a wonderful sight for the eye, but also a taste explosion on the palate. It was wonderful. Accompanied by a glass of very good wine that was repeatedly filled without noticing - first white, then red, the dessert was a delight, and the accompanying music that gently filled the room in the background from the DJ lady, we had a wonderful evening. The acoustics, even though the restaurant was filled with interesting people and wonderful conversations filling the room, were also extremely good. The interior design with fine materials is stylish. The service and charm of Thorsten and Stefan, who more than pampered us, was not a unique experience. Because we'll be back. Fantastic modern restaurant with a very unique slant on the atmosphere and menu options. The a la carte menu looks amazing with a relatively small selection offering some classic French dishes that we will certainly be exploring at a later date. Prices are certainly within the higher end of the spectrum, even for Mitte, and they only take cards. We actually went for a rather more unique option, and they call this the 'Family & Friends Dinner' available intermittently, so keep an eye out on the website for the next one. Here, you book online (absolutely essential as they are full up on these evenings) and turn up at about 630pm, pay you very reasonable €65 per person up front and then take their constantly changing 2 course fixed menu with wine pairing and aperitif. We had the Coq au Vin in Burgunder wine with mushrooms and potatoes as a main (a vegan option is available, which was a nice touch), and this was simply sensational. I have had this dish, like most people, a lot over the years, and I can not remember having a better one anywhere. Service was exemplary, and everyone was very attentive, polite, and very friendly. Food finished being served at about 10pm, and on a side note I didn't have to ask once as my wine glass kept being filled up as if by magic which was very nice to see as these types of wine pairing restaurant evenings tend to be a little tight with the wine but not here, that's for sure! At about that time, a DJ started up, and this was time for the younger crowd to start to party. The music was never really intrusive, but I imagine it got a little louder once all of us oldies went home! Wine, both white and red Burgunders were really nice and went perfectly with the food. Dessert was a sorbet that more than matched the rest of the food as it was one of the best I have had in Berlin. Overall, it was an amazing experience that offered something a little different to the other top-tier restaurants in Mitte. Prices, apart from this fixed price menu, are certainly on the higher side, but you can not have any complaints given the quality on offer here. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fine dining with a twist!

Were at the Osterberger today, March 16, 2024. We wanted to test the restaurant in order to book a larger business meal. Nice welcome and individual opportunity to choose your spot. Menu clear but sufficient. Drinks menu very overloaded. The restaurant was almost empty at 6 p.m. Fast and friendly service. Ordered baked eggplant and cod. (The next guests were told that the cod was sold out. And we were the first guests that evening.) Non-alcoholic beer and the house lemonade. The fish was lukewarm for just under 40 euros and the amount of food was more of an appetizer. We were also not asked if we would like something to drink after our drinks were empty. It was probably because we hadn't ordered the expensive wine. The two managers were constantly bustling around in the restaurant and causing a lot of unrest. Arriving regular guests were greeted provocatively, so that all non-regular guests also noticed. CONCLUSION: The price-performance ratio for our food is definitely not right. Very fake mood on the part of the GF. If you like it, this is the right place. In any case, there won't be a second time for us.

Even though the restaurant was at most half full (on a Friday!) we had terribly bad service. The employees were inattentive and often not visible. We waited over an hour for the food (45 minutes was stated). The lamb was dry and tough and absolutely completely overpriced. It's a shame, but we will definitely avoid this place!

Grund war das „Family&Friends Dinner“ im Januar, diesmal vegetarisch oder vegan. Da ich, man verzeihe mir meine Intoleranz, rein veganes Essen als zu ungesund sehe, nahm ich die vegetarische Variante (Für die Empörten: Sebastian Leges letzten Test veganer Wurstprodukte nachschauen, vorwiegend mineralölbasierte Chemie gibt veganen Produkten Geschmack und Struktur, Pfui). Was soll ich sagen, es war nicht mit meinem Vokabular zu beschreiben: Sensationell reicht daher aus. Solch ein Geschmackserlebnis hatte ich lange nicht. Der dazu (bis 22:30 auf lau) gereichte Weißwein passte ausgezeichnet. Erwähnenswert war auch das parallele Musikerlebnis. Die D-Jane zauberte eine tolle Stimmung die uns länger als geplant verweilen ließ. Beim nächsten Family&Friends Menü Ende Februar sind wir wieder dabei.

Das Osterberger - was soll ich sagen... das merkwürdige Wort "schwärmen" kommt mir in den Sinn - ruhig, unaufgeregt, dennoch stylish und gemütlich. Der Mix ist unwiderstehlich: Kühle und Wärme in der Einrichtung mit einer sehr guten Küche, phantastischen Weinen und dem für mich bislang nettesten Serviceteam der Stadt. Die Menschen hier haben einfach Spaß an dem, was sie tun und man fühlt sich willkommen und entschleunigt. Es ist immer Zeit für ein kleines Gespräch und man möchte fast nicht mehr gehen... Ihr habt - zumindest für uns - die Messlatte sehr hoch gelegt für unsere weitere monatliche kulinarische Reise durch die tollsten Berliner Restaurants.

Fantastic, relaxed restaurant right in the center of Berlin. Great food & drinks. I like to sit well and you can tell from the design and furnishings of the Osterberg alone that excellent hosts have implemented a great concept. I will come back :)

Ich habe für 5 Kolleg:innen auf Geschäftsreise ein Abendessen im Osterberger gebucht und am nächsten Tag haben mich 3 davon kontaktiert und ein begeistertes Feedback gegeben... Das nenne ich einen durchschlagenden Erfolg. VIELEN DANK!

An einem Samstagabend sollte auf jeden Fall reserviert werden. Ab 19.30 Uhr war nahezu jeder Tisch besetzt. Wir wurden nett empfangen, Jacken gleich abgenommen. Das Ambiente ist sehr ruhig, auch wenn es voll ist. Mir persönlich ist es schon fast zu minimalistisch eingerichtet. Doch so wirkt es natürlich sehr klar. Die Speisekarte ist klein gehalten, so dass auch alles frisch ist. Und das Essen ist super. Geschmacklich ganz hervorragend. Meine Gänsekeule mit 2 Klößen und Rotkohl war auch groß. Der Fisch des Tages sowie Hirsch hätte etwas mehr Beilage sein können. Das Dessert ebenfalls super. Und alles sehr fein angerichtet. Es kommt ein sehr entschleunigendes Gefühl auf, da nicht gleich die Bestellung aufgenommen wird. Man kann ganz in Ruhe ankommen. Und auch das Essen braucht etwas Zeit. Also nichts für Eilige. Preislich liegt eine Hauptspeise bei ca. 35€. Parkplätze muss man in den Seitenstraßen drumherum Suche.

Sehr netter wenn auch nicht perfekter Service. Essen von hoher Qualität. Preise gehoben aber noch angemessen.

Wir waren zu einem Geschäftsessen da. Toller Service, super Essen, leckeres Bier und ein super Wein als Begleitung. Hatte den Tatar und die offene Lasagne, sehr, sehr gut. Preis-Leistung ist auch hervorragend.
