The food is great and plentiful. Prices completely ok. The service is also great...when Stanko serves himself or is present.
I will only make reservations when the boss himself is there. Then everything works great and you feel welcome as a guest.
I've enjoyed being a guest here for decades, but the way in which the gentleman in the gray jacket in the old blacksmith's shop has to shamelessly throw me out really pisses me off.
Yes, it was Saturday evening around 7:00 p.m. in Advent and no, the two of us hadn't made a reservation. It doesn't cost anything to ask and we were shown two "free" seats, at a table occupied by two groups in the middle of the table and opposite each other. But, since we are both seasoned men and you could only guess where the two chairs were, we didn't want to squeeze ourselves between the two groups. When we declined, the gentleman in the gray jacket became extremely unfriendly and said; He would show us free seats and we should take them now or go out immediately. I also said that we should please remain friendly. This then caused the person to really aggressively start the way out with us and continue to complain that...
... until we no longer said in a friendly and firm manner that it would be enough now. Someone like that really has no place in the hospitality industry and stress isn't an excuse either, since at that time the old forge was pretty empty except for this table and possibly two smaller ones.
Vegetarian/vegan dishes are often out far too early and are not refilled. There are often very tasty things at the vegetable counter, but here too everything runs out quickly. Gladly more! And generally more veggie dishes, especially on Fridays :)
We had dinner at Altwirt today and it was horrible! We had 5 different dishes and they were inedible...The children's menu (dumplings with sauce) then resulted in vomiting. There were also disgusting spaetzle, pumpkin with Camembert and salad with strips of chicken breast. Everyone had stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea afterwards!!!! The char seemed to be the best at first, but it was filled with whole cloves of garlic and here too there was subsequent nausea and stomach problems! The waitress didn't accept the nicely worded criticism at all and overplayed it. Not recommended!!!
Unfortunately the food was absolutely not good. There was a lot of choice in the evening, but some of the food was burnt from the grill or simply didn't taste good. Too greasy or overcooked. Lots of ready-made and fried foods. Unfortunately, mass-produced goods. The soup smelled incredibly bad. The fruit was delicious and the chocolate fountain. Otherwise ready-made cakes, donuts. Also cheap and dry. Sometimes less would simply be more. Unfortunately not recommended for the price.
I celebrated my wedding here with around 220 guests. A very nice location. We received very competent advice from start to finish. The responsible contact person was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Tastiest half chicken I've ever eaten. Here you can have your chicken coated with a large selection of home-made marinades. There is everything from sweet to extremely spicy. Absolutely recommended! Definitely coming back.
