Quaint, traditional ambiance and menu; fast service and delicious food. Excellent value for money! Highly recommended; we were there almost every evening during our vacation and had excellent food every night. On the last evening, there was even a Bavarian band playing live music.

The hut is beautifully situated, and thanks to the on-site staff, you feel at home. You can go on great hikes, and the terrace is a dream, especially in the evening light. The food is excellent, and both the innkeeper's son and the on-site staff make every effort to ensure guests have a wonderful stay. Unfortunately, the innkeeper clearly shows that the hut is purely an investment for him: He is not on site in the evenings/nights and is also unavailable for organizational matters. In addition to the room rate, a hot shower costs €3 per 3 minutes, and he charges €50 for the "transfer" from Spitzingsee to the valley station of the platter lift (e.g., for luggage or guests who cannot ascend themselves). Overall, the hut has great potential, but the construction-site feel of the hut, as well as the innkeeper's attitude toward his hut and his guests, leave room for improvement.

They forgot to bring the food, until they closed the kitchen.

Ordered schnitzel with fries and thought to myself: yeah, €20 is nothing unusual these days given the location of some restaurants. But then the waiter came with 2 large schnitzels that were simply delicious. I had to fight to do everything. Fries were crispy and tasty. My wife's side salad looked like the normal salad you order at some other places. A visit and a meal are definitely worth it. You should plan a short digestive walk afterwards at Spitzingsee. I can't say anything about the hotel itself except that all the staff were always friendly, especially the nice lady from Ukraine. Maybe again one day when we're close.
