My father and I are here one night and had to come back a second night. Great food and atmosphere.

Very clean, lovely ambiance, excellent food, and friendly service! We'll definitely be back!

The ambiance was great, the coffee was rather average, and card payments are only accepted for amounts over €20. This is precisely where they should have arrived in 2025 instead of staying stuck in 1720.

We visited the Alte Wurzhütte today as a group of 11 at the unusual time of 4:30 p.m. Despite the "interim" time, the service was very good and attentive, which already left a very positive first impression. ​Ambiance and Atmosphere ​We particularly liked the ambiance. The restaurant is beautifully and stylishly designed and invites you to linger and enjoy yourself. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale at the same time. ​The Highlight: Cordon Bleu with an Obatzter Twist ​I chose the Cordon Bleu with Obatzter filling, an exciting and creative combination that you don't find everywhere. ​The dish tasted excellent! The Obatzter filling was creamy, spicy, and gave the classic dish an innovative, Bavarian flavor. It was a true culinary highlight. ​A small note: The Cordon Bleu could have been cooked in the pan a little longer, but overall it was a very good dish. Price Range The Alte Wurzhütte is in the upper price range – my Cordon Bleu cost over €25. Given the high quality of the ingredients, the creative cuisine, and the skillful preparation, this price reflects the restaurant's standards. Conclusion: The Alte Wurzhütte impresses with a beautiful ambiance, good service, and creative, outstanding cuisine. Those who value high-quality, innovative Bavarian dishes will be rewarded here and can look forward to a fantastic culinary experience.

A cottage dating back to 1720 meets the present. Here, modern comfort meets modern technology (including plumbing). A beautifully renovated restaurant with home-style cooking that's nothing short of outstanding. The staff is friendly, but they're certainly busy. One waitress on a Monday lunchtime with 40-60 guests between 12 and 1 p.m. (which was our time), we find it borderline understaffed. The food was delicious!

Decent German food at Spitzingsee though prices are on the higher end

I went here for dinner with my boyfriend yesterday. We had veal liver and a quarter of a duck. It tasted really good, but it was only lukewarm. The veal liver was very tasty. For dessert, we had apple fritters and chocolate soufflé, both served cold rather than lukewarm, which I think is quite an art when it comes to dishes like this. Both were tasty. Unfortunately, the service at our table wasn't very attentive, so we couldn't say anything. The people sitting next to us were constantly asked if everything was okay, and they skillfully averted their gaze from us.

A quaint, lovely inn on Lake Spitzingsee. The garden isn't so nice. The interior is very nice. The food was good, but a bit expensive. The portion was okay. At €21 for the veal liver (chopped finely), which was very tender, it could have included a salad.

We wanted to come for dinner with 10 people, but unfortunately, we were greeted so unfriendly that we went to the restaurant across the street. They were very friendly. Obviously, they didn't need to. What a shame.

Beautiful old inn with very friendly staff and delicious food

After our long journey from North Rhine-Westphalia, this was our first stop – and our vacation couldn't have started any better. We received a warm welcome, the service was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The food tasted absolutely fantastic – fresh, lovingly prepared, and a visual delight as well. We had roast pork with dumplings and spaetzle with salad. So well-fortified, we were able to start our vacation at Schliersee in a relaxed manner. A clear recommendation – we'd love to come back!

The waiter was very friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere. We had Kaiserschmarrn with apple sauce, which was really delicious. And freshly made. I was surprised that I was even asked beforehand whether I wanted it with raisins or not. Thanks for that :) The trout salad was also delicious. The fruit in the salad completes the whole experience. Very friendly staff, and I highly recommend the restaurant. We would come again. Keep up the good work.

The food was very good. The waitress immediately apologized for the delay because a bus had arrived before us, which wasn't a problem at all. The atmosphere was nice, and the restrooms were modern and very stylish. We really enjoyed ourselves :-)

The ambiance and food were fine, but the value for money was not at all. The asparagus portion consisted of 4 spears, and an extra portion of potatoes consisted of 4 small potatoes for €6.90! The Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) was very tasty.

Quaint, traditional ambiance and menu; fast service and delicious food. Excellent value for money! Highly recommended; we were there almost every evening during our vacation and had excellent food every night. On the last evening, there was even a Bavarian band playing live music.

One more reason for us to go to Spitzingsee. Very cozy, rustic and you stay true to your style. We are already looking forward to the next time.

All around successful restaurant. We stopped by spontaneously in the afternoon and had lunch. Service and cuisine were very quick, even though we had arrived on a bus trip and the restaurant was very full. Our special request for food was implemented immediately. And the food was delicious, seasonal and regional. Only recommended. And the ambience and mood are also great. Spitzingsee-like rustic.

We've been coming here for years, including twice last weekend. Unfortunately, the impression is that with the renovation and the four stars, the warmth has fallen by the wayside. For example, despite having a reservation, we were seated at a table in the middle of the passage, and our request if we could move to another, also reserved, table in the corner was brusquely denied. But then no one came - the better table remained empty all evening.

The game cream soup was more like a gravy and the Maultaschen included were very firm. The game meatloaf was accompanied by spaetzle, which was oversalted and unfortunately not much in the mushroom sauce. Everything, apart from the roast, seemed to have been made little from scratch. Too bad. Important - I also made this criticism openly in the restaurant. They wanted to put it in the kitchen. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is friendly. Maybe it was the wrong time for me.

The newly renovated hut has lost nothing of its coziness. You immediately feel comfortable. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. The food is plentiful and reasonably priced, the game meatloaf was very tasty. The organic rhubarb spritzer in particular was very good and tasty.

Sehr nettes Lokal. Essen war gut, die Spätzle hätten etwas mehr Würze haben können. Preislich alles noch Ok. Suppe hätte etwas mehr sein können. Einzigstes Manko, Personal wirkte schon sehr gestresst, kann ich auch verstehen es waren mehrere Gesellschaften da. Allerdings arbeite ich selber auch mit Menschen und egal wie gestresst man ist, die Kunden sollten es nicht abbekommen..

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived there late in the evening in rainy autumn weather. It was a recommendation that we implemented immediately... and were not disappointed. It's high quality and casual, super rustic and well-kept atmosphere. Price performance was great..... 👍👍👍😎

Nice, rustic restaurant right on Spitzingsee. The food is super tasty and the service is great. I've been here a few times. Sometimes with friends, sometimes with colleagues, sometimes as a couple. We like to come back whenever we are at Spitzingsee or on the Rotwand. Highly recommended! Ps: There are also seats here with a socket and WiFi so you can work quite relaxed here ;-)

You know those beautiful picturesque snowy mountain lodges you see in films and think how lovely it would be to go there? This is that. Warm, cosy, excellent food and drink, great service. Wonderful.

Service friendly and helpful. Very rustic thanks to a lot of wood in the guest room. I really liked it and the cappuccino was delicious too. The toilet was clean and exceptionally decorated 👍 And of course the location by the lake, you feel comfortable here 😍

We visited this restaurant which is a little bit on the side of the main road. The service was friendly and attentive the order dishes to add additional Bavarian food. The excellent taste and quality. The size of portion could have been a little bit bigger. The prices for the food, are settle a little bit more in the higher region. E.g. Schweinekrustenbraten for 17,90€. You are sitting nicely outside and quiet in the back of the house which was built in 1720 . I would definitely come back . Credit cards welcome. Cost free parking at the house.

We went from Argentina to see this wonderful place. Very delicious food. Perfect live music and nice atmosphere. It is in front of the lake and next to a stream. The construction dates back to 1720.

Very nice and rustic location. We ate there twice. The boiled beef was super tender and delicious. Unfortunately with frozen vegetables. The knuckle was to die for and very crispy. Unfortunately the dumplings were not freshly prepared. If you work on the side dishes you get 5 points for the food.

We ordered a bottle of white wine. This was warm. They were taken back to cool further in the freezer. At some point when we asked, we got them back, the temperature was now ok. We asked that the second one be chilled now. When we ordered the second one we were "served" another warm bottle. Served specifically means: the waitress slammed the bottle into the bottle cooler for us, unopened and without a sample sip. Apparently no one there can serve bottled wine as they should. We again asked the waiter, who had already "chilled" the first bottle, for a cold bottle. He took the warm one with him. We didn't see a cold one that evening and ate our main course, which was moderate to ok, without a drink. All in all, a restaurant that obviously cannot or does not want to implement the standards it wants to have. It was obvious that the service staff was completely uncoordinated and overwhelmed (we were sitting so that we had to hear all internal conversations), which made it impossible to have a nice evening in a pleasant atmosphere. They apologized for the "misunderstanding" regarding the wine. Where is it a misunderstanding when wine is served completely unprofessionally and, for example, not even refilled. That was simply inability or even unwillingness!

The atmosphere is very positive. Quaint old house modern in all the right places. The service was good and prompt. When it comes to eating, it can be said that the taste is very good. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio for two out of three dishes is not that great. With the onion roast, the focus was on the meat, which was extremely tender and medium rare. However, the fried potatoes weren't enough for me personally. In addition, there was no coleslaw or anything like that, which was available with the cheaper roast pork. When roasting pork, it would be nice to add a second dumpling. One alone is quite rare. Again, everything tasted great except the portioning, especially of cheaper components (such as lettuce, potatoes, etc., might need to be reconsidered).

They claim to be one of the original places in Spitzingsee. We loved the atmosphere and the food and would go back, perhaps even to stay at the hotel.

Absolutely amazing food! I always enjoy going for a walk there and at the end you can stop off at the inn and fill your stomach. My biggest point of criticism is the Spezi - it just doesn't taste good there. But the food is great and the portions are great too.

Considering the location and the venue, this could be a fantastic starting point for your hike into the German Alps or a great venue for your compay event. Unfortuntely there is a lack of service througout. Arriving for a company meeting, the conference table was still covered with crumbles from the previous booking party. We were nowhere to be welcomed and felt a bit left alone. Food can also be improved. Beeing woken up by loud noises from the kitchen downstairs at 5 am doesn't help either. Such a pitty. This hotel has so much potential, newly renovated with great views of the lake. Lack of service and unwelcoming behavoir ruins it for me.

The Wurzhütte is a really beautiful, old, quaint local traditional, impressive restaurant. The table decoration is very distinctive and the service pays attention to everyone. The food is also a real culinary delight. We enjoyed the New Year's Eve dinner. It was 79.80 per person plus drinks, well it was also a four-course menu.

Unser Besuch in der Wurzhütte endete in einem Desaster. Ich wollte meinen 60igsten mit Freunden feiern, habe mein besonderes Fest mit der Wirtin Margot so besprochen. Dann passierte das unfassbare: Diese Frau, wohlgemerkt, Chefin dieser Hütte, organsierte eine Gegenveranstaltung zu meinem runden Geburtstag. Kassierte von mir für diese Unverschämtheit für mein Fest und zugleich ihrer organisierten Gegenveranstaltung einen 4stelligen Betrag. Das ist und bleibt ohne Worte! Diese Location ist keinesfalls zu empfehlen und reiht sich bei den Schlechtesten ein. Nie mehr wieder!!!!

Also wir waren ein Samstag spontan da, wir waren zu viert und wurden herzlich begrüßt, und saßen auch recht gemütlich. Wir hatten ein hausgemachten Kaiserschmarrn der war sehr lecker und auch empfehlenswert. Der Service war auch sehr nett

Kann ich nur empfehlen. Essen was sehr gut. Service zuvorkommend, immer mit Lächeln. Sehr schnell. Wir waren eine große Gruppe und trotzdem ging es sehr schnell. Einrichtung viel helles Holz, sehr schön und sauber. Jederzeit gerne wieder!!!

Wir hatten zu Dritt mit unserem Hund ein sehr schönes, verlängertes Wochen im Hotel. Sehr schöne, urige und gleichzeitig moderne Zimmer, ganz neu gestaltet, nettes und sehr zuvorkommendes Hotelpersonal, tolles Frühstück. Natürlich haben wir jeden Abend auch hier gegessen und es war immer in sehr guter Qualität.

Main entry is open (written to be open from 08:00) but says it is closed and asks to go downstairs. Downstairs says to go upstairs... Make up your mind....

Sehr gemütlich, rustikal und urig. Essen war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung leicht knurrig. Vielleicht wir nicht-Bayern waren.

Wir haben hier abends gegessen und waren begeistert: das Ambiente ist total urig und alles ist schön gestaltet. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und auch die Preise stimmen. Wir können dieses Restaurant empfehlen!

Sehr schön hergerichtetes Lokal in einer tollen Lage am Spitzingsee, von dem man allerdings nichts sieht, weil man drinnen sitzt. Das tut dem Ambiente aber keinen Abbruch. Schöne Auswahl an Speisen, da ist für jeden etwas dabei. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist unterschiedlich. Der Salat mit Feta ist z. B. absolut überteuert, für ein paar Blatt grünen Salat und wenige Fetawürfel über 10 Euro ist eine Frechheit. Die Fleisch und Fischgerichte dagegen sind ok. Der Kaiserschmarrn ist wirklich gut, allerdings auch nicht ganz günstig. Der Service dagegen war bei unserem Besuch nicht gut. Wir haben einer Bedienung mehrfach signalisiert, dass wir noch einen Wunsch haben, aber sie hat, obwohl sie es definitiv gesehen hat, absolut nicht reagiert. Ein kurzes "bitte haben Sie etwas Geduld" is doch immer drin... Sehr schade, weil sowas bleibt leider in Erinnerung.

Während wir beim letzten Besuch sehr zufrieden waren, müssen wir diesmal leider feststellen, dass beim bestellten Almsalat deutlich Luft nach oben ist. Sehr kleiner Salat, fast nur Eisbergsalat, für den recht hohen Preis einfach nur mäßig, das sollte man auf jeden Fall ändern. Ansonsten wurden wir freundlich bedient, und man sitzt auch schön mit Blick auf den Spitzingsee.

Die alte Wurzhütte am Spitzingsee - definitiv eine Empfehlung wert. Sehr schönes Ambiente, nette Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen.

Ambiente top 👍🏻 da können das Essen, Service & Preise nicht ganz mithalten. Kenne und besuche das Lokal in unregelmäßigen Abständen bereits seit etwa 2012… da sollte wieder mehr „gehen“ !

Gemütliche Gaststätte. Guter Service. Essen war gut aber nichts besonderes.

Das Essen und auch die Location einfach Top. Der Service war kein Service. Wir mussten proaktiv darum betteln noch etwas bestellen zu dürfen. Auch wollten wir zum Schluss noch Kaiserschmarn essen, aber wurden auch hier ignoriert. Die Krönung war aber, dass wir 45 Minuten auf unser Essen warten mussten. Andere Gäste hatten nach uns bestellt und ihr Essen vor uns erhalten. Ich kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen, wenn sich das Personal nochmal darauf besinnt, was Service bedeutet. Ein Lächeln oder zwei schenken.

Wir sind mehrfach nach dem Wandern in dem Restaurant eingekehrt. Wir haben bequem bei einem tollen Seeblick sitzen können und alle Gerichte, die wir probiert haben, waren sehr schmackhaft. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen :)

Sehr leckeres Essen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre

Radltour zum Spitzingsee, Einkehr zum Mittagessen in der Alten Wurzhütte. Es war zu unserer Überraschung nix los. Wir wurden auf der Terrasse sehr nett bedient, Hirschburger und Pizza waren richtig gut, für uns gab es nix zu meckern, wir kommen wieder.

Ein sehr uriges Restaurant was von außen und innen was her macht 😊 Die Speisen sind lecker und preislich vollkommen in Ordnung 👍 Angeboten werden Landestypische Speisen und Vegane Sachen . Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und sehr aufmerksam 😊 Auch das Tisch reservieren über Google hat sehr gut funktioniert 😅 Einen tollen Abend da verbracht 👍

wir hatten eine großartige Geburtstagsfeier mit 40 Personen in der Wurzhütte, inkl. Übernachtungen. Das Team ist super freundlich, zuvorkommend und engagiert. Jeder Wunsch wird versucht umzusetzen was in unserem Falle ausnahmslos gelang. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt und werden das Wochenende nicht vergessen. Jederzeit wieder !!

Immer wieder gerne! Tolles Lokal! Essen richtig gut! Oft dagewesen, bisher nie enttäuscht worden. Aber bitte stellt die der Espresso / Kaffee Maschine nach! Ihr habt super Kaffee laut Euren Tassen! (Dinzler) aber die Einstellung der Maschine muss nachgebessert werden.... Schönes altes Gebäude ansprechend renoviert! Klasse!

Eine absolute Top-Adresse in der Gegend. Hier bekommt man sehr leckeres Essen zum fairen Preis. Das Lokal wurde in den letzten Jahren renoviert und bietet ein tolles Ambiente.
