The restaurant has a terrace with a nice view of the lake. The food is good, albeit not incredible. In general salads in Germany tend to be drenched in dressing and the lettuce was quickly wilted on my „Gardener’s Salad.“ Burger with fries was good. You are charged for a glass of tap water, I find this not to be good customer service.

The view of Schliersee and the spa gardens is stunning. The food was delicious; the chicken on the "Styrian style" salad was very tender. The salad was otherwise a bit bland, with a small piece of tomato, coleslaw, carrot salad, and a few slices of cucumber buried under a lot of lettuce. The service was unfortunately not good, and I have to agree with other reviews. One waiter walked away with a cigarette in his mouth while fobbling off other guests, the order was taken incorrectly, the water glass was dirty, and the wait was considerable. There was a 40-minute wait between the starter soup and the main course, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The way I was spoken to was very condescending. Overall, it would certainly be a great restaurant if the staff were properly trained.

We were there on Sunday, September 14, 2025, to drink a Spritz on the lovely terrace. Unfortunately, the ice machine was broken. The same thing happened on Friday, September 19. The Spritz was warm again, because the machine was still broken. The completely unmotivated staff were unable to freeze water. Hallelujah.

The food was truly delicious, but that's unfortunately the only positive thing about this restaurant. We had to wait a full forty minutes for our order; it was simply forgotten. My sister asked to pay twice, but this was also ignored for a long time. Three waiters stood at a single table the entire time, consistently ignoring the other guests. Not to mention the dirty napkin that was lying on the edge of our table – the waiters walked past it twice, and only after I directly asked for it was it finally removed. I gave it two stars only for the food and the view.

The person at the entrance to the restaurant rudely refused to let us sit outside, even though there were already several free seats.

Very attentive and friendly staff, food was great, everything was clean and tidy 👍We were in the Ratskeller and wanted to go to the Hofhaus, it's bad when you don't offer tables for walk-in customers and you also turn up your nose when families with children come or a four-legged friend is on holiday 🤔so charivari is great👍🍀👍

The most beautiful view from the valley over Lake Schliersee. Very friendly staff. There's something for everyone on the menu, and it tastes delicious and is good value for money. On weekends, during school holidays, and when the weather is nice, just take a little time and enjoy it.

After a long day at Monte Mare, filled with sauna and relaxation, a hearty dinner at Charivari was highly recommended. The server was also very friendly and relaxed. Fast service, and the burger and schnitzel we ordered were incredibly delicious. Great place with a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Initially, from a distance not sure of the restaraunt. But took a chance and pleasantly surprised. Service is good, portions on food was amazing and non-alcoholic drink was next level. The sell for the spot is the deck looking out over the lake. A very good experience and will be back. Thanks.

I ordered the Obazda (traditional German sausage) with a pretzel. Unfortunately, four slices of dried-out brown bread arrived, without even asking the waitress if that was okay. The Obazda lacked flavor, but everyone has different tastes. The waitress also wasn't particularly motivated.

The menu has decent vegetarian options. Overall food taste was really good. It’s by the lake side. So on when weather is nice, the atmosphere can be really good. Even otherwise scenic beauty surrounding is beautiful

We ordered drinks, coffee, and fries for takeaway. The waiters are supper welcoming, carefully checking on our requests and taste preference, and we are very happy with everything we got. I'm really surprised to see the rating is not that high.

The café and cake are great and the service is quick, at least in my experience if you're not here on the weekend. On the terrace you have the best view of the mountains and the warmth of the sun in April after beautiful hiking tours in the area.

I have absolutely no idea, what some ppl have against this place. Yeah, it's admittedly a bit pricey, but... it's definitely worth it.

Here you can eat well and deliciously with a fantastic view of the beautiful Schliersee. I have been there many times and have always found the staff to be friendly and in a good mood. Even when the number of guests is high, the staff maintains an overview and is friendly. The choice of food for young and old is varied and of good quality. The prices are reasonable. Personally, I can only be surprised at some of the negative reviews. I was on the terrace with a friend this afternoon. It was fantastic weather and there was no space available. A couple was already waiting ahead of us. We first went to the toilet and then wanted to go for a little walk and then come back, hoping for free places. An employee overheard the exchange between my girlfriend and me and when we wanted to go out again, she informed us that she had already reserved two seats for us. I thought it was so sweet of her to do that for my girlfriend and me! 🥰 We then ordered the delicious chicken schnitzel with fries and a cold shandy. Then another cappuccino. ☕️😎 The service and prices couldn't be better! A very big compliment to everyone! We are already looking forward to our next visit! Simply recommended! 👍👍👍👍👍🥰😃

At this point I would like to stand up for the staff. I absolutely cannot understand the sometimes extremely negative reviews - neither for the Vitalwelt nor for the restaurant. The service for us was always courteous, quick and friendly. The food was perfectly fine, the portion sizes were reasonable and the prices were ok. The fantastic view from the terrace is particularly impressive! Of course, this is not a star restaurant and there is no claim to be one. We were completely satisfied and thank you for a nice day!

We were there for lunch and sat on the terrace. The service came promptly and took the order. To be fair it wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait long for our order. Salad with grilled goat cheese, Munich schnitzel and chicken schnitzel. Everything was to our satisfaction. Price-performance was right for us and we would come again.

Sind am 1 Januar nachmittags hier eingekehrt. Terrasse war gut gefüllt daher sind wir rein gegangen. Schöne Karte mit bodenständigen Gerichten und großer Auswahl. Wir hatten Flammkuchen, Ofenkartoffel mit Salat (sehr feine Salatsauce), Currywurst (mit sehr guter hausgemachter Sauce, nicht so ein Fertigpampf wie sonst meistens) wunderbare Käsespätzle sowie Obazda mit einer wirklich guten Brezn. Alles in super Qualität. Auch das Essen an den Nachbartischen sah alles sehr gut aus. Das beste aber war der Kellner. Freundlich, aufgestellt, guter Kommunikator. Immer präsent aber nicht lästig. Jemand der seinen Job gern macht. Danke für das feine Essen und die großartige Bedienung.

Four of us were there in the afternoon and sat on the terrace and were ignored for 25 minutes - no waiter cleared or cleaned the tables, let alone took a new order. We then sat down and at least had something to drink receive. Extremely long waiting times, many guests give up and leave without having consumed anything. Extremely unfortunate, unfortunately not an isolated case, we've been there a few times and every time the service staff is completely overwhelmed. Seems like they're not willing to change anything.

On the terrace you can enjoy the beautiful weather and drinks. However, Aperol Spritz wasn't a highlight and probably didn't have a processor, just mixed with mineral water.

A hospitable house on the shore of the lake, where food and drink are of the highest quality. The view is a true gift from nature - a place that delights the heart and stomach!

The service was poor, two people didn't even come close to taking orders from the terrace. One of them always just waved it off and pointed out that the colleague was responsible, who in turn couldn't be found at all at times. After 25 minutes of waiting, I left without having accomplished anything because no one even came to take an order.

Today we just wanted to have a coffee and eat fries in the restaurant. Unfortunately our order wasn't recorded, which we only found out after about 45 minutes of waiting. Mistakes can happen, but it would have been nice if management had reacted better in such a situation. The staff was still very friendly.

We had a wonderful last evening there, the ambience is really nice, the service was super friendly, when the waiter happened to notice that we were having our last evening, he gave us a snap (thank you again for that) and the food was simply great 😎 So it's definitely worth eating here, great overall package

If you're ever looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place for you. I ordered still water (not tap water at all). Why spend three euros on mineral water when you can get lukewarm tap water for only two euros? A real bargain, isn't it? It's almost as if the restaurant wants to offer you an exclusive insight into the local water pipe culture. Who needs cold mineral water when you can taste real life for less money? A must for anyone who loves the unexpected!

We had a good meal with a wonderful view over Lake Schliersee. By chance there was a performance on the stage next door 🤩 the food was delicious. Caesar salad with chicken & beetroot risotto with grilled cheese. Very good, highly recommended. And I got my sour cyclist too, thank you very much 😍😍😍

The view from the terrace is simply a dream. The service is nice. The menu reads well. What disappoints me is that the prices here are really high, but the quality and value for money are not right in my opinion. We had a Caesar salad for around €18 (I hope the chicken really had a good life ;)) and a risotto with beetroot and goat cheese. I was happy to see it on the menu because this is rare and risotto is already special. And that's exactly what it was here - from my risotto experience, it was simply not risotto, but normal rice with beetroot and what felt like no spices whatsoever. And this for 15€. I like to come back for a coffee or the delicious lavender-lemon lemonade, but when it comes to eating, I prefer to go somewhere I know I'll enjoy it. As we all know, tastes are different.

Not recommended, I got the Caesar salad with an undercooked chicken. The waiter apologized and offered us desserts. But as I see in other reviews, I wasn't the first person to be served the raw chicken, that's unacceptable!

Underground service. Long waiting times even though the restaurant was empty. After about an hour of waiting, I was informed that the food I ordered was not available...The food I then ordered was not available again, which became apparent after about 30 minutes...The fries I ordered came quickly, but were greasy and not good. A sun terrace doesn't help either...

Insanely beautiful sun terrace for a good sundowner. The selection of drinks is very good, with something for everyone, whether non-alcoholic or with alcohol. The food is excellent. We'll definitely be back.

Only recommended!! The ambience was fantastic: From the terrace you have a wonderful view of Lake Schliersee (Shipping trip recommended!), plus the parks, very well maintained.. The most important thing, of course, was the food! It all tasted great, not as overpriced as one would think given the view. The Thai curry, a taste experience! The salad with goat cheese... With caramelized walnuts!! Mmmmm! The Munich Schnitzel is also a large men's portion and very tasty! Also the raspberry strudel with vanilla sauce and ice cream. Highly recommended! Also very friendly, great service! Our waiter was really just great! You like to go there, You'll be happy to come back... Thanks to the staff for a lovely Sunday!!

0 stars are still too many. Waiter ignored us, we sat outside and he wiped tables inside. Then another colleague came and they both disappeared behind a door with a porthole. Then the colleague came out again and disappeared towards the Badewelt. The young man was no longer seen. The restaurant was empty, only four young people were sitting on the terrace with drinks. We got up and ate and drank excellently at the Alpenwirt and were served very nicely. May 24, 2024

We recommend! Four of us had lunch yesterday and we all loved it! Our waiter was incredibly nice and my salad with creamy goat cheese, delicious leaf lettuce, pear pieces and caramelized walnuts was amazing! My sister had Thai curry, which was very spicy, hot and incredibly tasty! We will come back.

Top Aussicht und freundlicher Service am Rande des Schliersees. Essen passt soweit. Am besten sitzt man vorne auf der Terrasse unter einem Sonnenschirm.

Top views and friendly service on the edge of Lake Schliersee. Food is fine so far. The best place to sit is on the front terrace under a parasol.

Don't go to this restaurant. When the waiter brought my plate (Hähnchenschnitzel mit Pommes) half the potatoes fell from the plate onto the table. The waiter didn't even clean the table or offer to replace my portion of potatoes, but instead he said “entschuldigung” and left. I had to call another waiter to clear the table. On the other hand, the chicken tasted very bad, it was not fresh chicken. I advise you to BRING CASH to Schliersee, so you can go to other local restaurants in the area and NOT this one.

Das Essen war leider desaströs. Die Kürbissuppe war extrem gesalzen. Okay hätte ein Ausrutscher sein können. Die Hauptgerichte waren aber zum Teil ungenießbar. Der Burger mit Austernpilze war eine Zumutung. Die Pilze waren nicht gebraten, kamen direkt aus der Dose kalt in den Burger rein und haben nach Essig geschmeckt. Wahrscheinlich war beim Koch schon Schichtende. Das Thai-Curry war auch wässrig und niedrigste Qualität. Das Hähnchen sah auch noch vertrauenswürdig aus. Eigentlich null Punkte. Zwei Punkte gibt es für die gute Reaktion der Bedienung. Die Burger mussten nicht bezahlt werden und es gab Espresso und Schnaps aufs Haus. Trotzdem ein Graus das Ganze.

I ordered a beef steak with potatoes and mentioned that I don't eat pork, I told her that I don't want pork in my plate.. Then the waitress brought my plate and had beef steak on it Green beans wrapped in bacon, then I said I didn't want any pork, she said I'll get new ones. After 20 SECONDS I got the SAME plate back with green beans, only the pork was removed.. Green beans still had enough.. I got up and went home, it was 26€.. The waitress was also rude, she didn't say a hello or laugh...so nasty I'm very disappointed... it's a shame 😐 Then I went to another Greek restaurant and I ate delicious food. In the train station.. 😋😋

Ordered food in the sauna today at 11:30 a.m. Styrian salad and Munich schnitzel. At 12 the waiter, who was very friendly in the kitchen, asked where the food was. Apparently no receipt in the kitchen. 6 minutes both eat there. Cold turkey. Complained and another five minutes later the same meat was warmed up again in the microwave. Münchner Schnitzel fried potatoes were halved small baking potatoes from the microwave. Meat is also not fried in a pan. At almost 20 euros each, it's simply outrageous. But the food for the sauna is usually below average anyway

The location is great, the view from the terrace is very nice. You can forget the rest... The food is overpriced and doesn't taste good. My salad, which was specifically labeled as vegan, contained a piece of cheese and was garnished with bacon... Furthermore, it is a disgrace to sell tap water for €1.80 and to still have “Lumumba” on the menu in 2024. That alone would have been reason enough for me never to visit this restaurant - unfortunately I was there as part of a team outing and had no other choice.

I can't say anything about the food, I haven't seen it. Because our order was not processed or recorded at all. Other guests were served, we then got up and went to eat somewhere else. Especially the waiter with a tattoo on his neck probably didn't want to serve us.

Ewig lange Wartezeiten auf das Essen, obwohl ausreichend Personal da und das Restaurant vielleicht zu 1/3 besucht war. Qualität des Essens: Flammkuchen eine Katastrophe! Viel zu dick belegt und Teig war dafür noch nicht durch. Pommes kamen nicht mehr heiß an und mussten wieder mitgenommen werden um neue zu bekommen. Über die Hälfte der Speisen ging unsngerührt zurück. Freundlichkeit des Personals: Personal wirkte extrem gestresst und daher nicht freundlich. Fazit: Eine tolle Location mit Blick auf den Schliersee und toller Lage direkt zum Schwimmbad/Sauna. Dennoch werden wir dort nicht mehr einkehren. Dafür ist das Geld zu schade…

Went to Charivari on the afternoon of October 29, 2023 with the aim of having something to drink and something to eat. Unfortunately, the service staff seemed completely overwhelmed, almost as if they were afraid of guests. After we were finally able to place our order after almost 20 minutes of waiting, we were informed that no food could be ordered at the moment. After another 10 minutes of waiting, our 3 drinks finally arrived, but unfortunately not what was ordered. But we were now allowed to order something to eat, which later turned out to be a mistake. Another 30 minutes later, a pile of cheese was served without cutlery, named on the menu as “Flammkuchen Classic”. Other guests who ordered well after us received their food much earlier. Conclusion: 5 or 6 people in service who wander around haphazardly in the area, where everyone does everything and who are unable to serve a restaurant that is mediocrely busy. Mediocre food, very long waiting times. In any case, the Charivari won't see us again any time soon!

Absolutely not recommended! Long waiting times, unfriendly staff, poor price/performance ratio. Employees talk privately, guests have to get up and look for service. Last visit I didn't get a fork. I complained twice without success, and in the end I ate with my hands. I've been there four times (reason: I like going to the thermal baths next door), but always the same disaster.
