The hut is beautifully situated, and thanks to the on-site staff, you feel at home. You can go on great hikes, and the terrace is a dream, especially in the evening light. The food is excellent, and both the innkeeper's son and the on-site staff make every effort to ensure guests have a wonderful stay. Unfortunately, the innkeeper clearly shows that the hut is purely an investment for him: He is not on site in the evenings/nights and is also unavailable for organizational matters. In addition to the room rate, a hot shower costs €3 per 3 minutes, and he charges €50 for the "transfer" from Spitzingsee to the valley station of the platter lift (e.g., for luggage or guests who cannot ascend themselves). Overall, the hut has great potential, but the construction-site feel of the hut, as well as the innkeeper's attitude toward his hut and his guests, leave room for improvement.

Quaint, traditional ambiance and menu; fast service and delicious food. Excellent value for money! Highly recommended; we were there almost every evening during our vacation and had excellent food every night. On the last evening, there was even a Bavarian band playing live music.

An absolute recommendation – a place with heart and taste! The innkeeper couple runs the house with great attention to detail and real passion. Everything is lovingly designed, which gives the whole thing a special feel-good touch. The food is freshly prepared, tastes perfect, and the ingredients are high quality. You can immediately tell that people cook here with real passion. Price-performance is consistent. If you appreciate delicious food in a cozy atmosphere, Alpenwirt is the right place for you.
