Very friendly staff, great food. Gladly again

We always enjoy coming to the Römerkeller in Heitersheim. In summer you can sit outside in the pedestrian zone, but on colder days we really like the rustic atmosphere. We feel warmly welcomed, the food is great, everyone always enjoys it, our (sometimes strange) special requests are always possible and last but not least, the price is absolutely reasonable. The cuisine is honest and to the point. In everything you can tell that there is heart behind it and that no powders are mixed together. The eyes are also there, the kids are always happy about the decorations. Unfortunately you won't be able to get rid of us, we'll definitely see each other again soon. :) Thank you so much for doing such a great job.

Nach mehreren Jahren Abwesenheit wurden wir von Freunden in die Schneider-Strauße zum Abendessen eingeladen. Unser bestellter Tisch war zwar noch von Vespernden belegt, als wir eintrafen. Das war aber nicht schlimm, denn die nette Bedienung wies uns einen Platz im Inneren mit geöffnetem Fenster zu. Dort blieben wir dann auch. Die bestellten Getränke (Grauburgunder, Guts-Cuvee und Apfelschorle) wurden schnell serviert. Und auch die Mahlzeiten (Schnitzel mit Brägele bzw. Kartoffelsalat und Schwartenmagen mit Dungi) wurden wenige Minuten später von den aufmerksamen Bedienungen serviert. Alle Speisen mundeten ausgezeichnet. Beim Dessert (Kirschbömble und Espresso mit Eis) waren wir überrascht, weil wir Anderes erwartet hatten. Aber geschmacklich war beides prima. Leider sind die Zeiten vorbei, in denen man in Straußwirtschaften günstig essen und trinken konnte. Aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in der Schneider-Strauße ist - bei einer Riesenauswahl an Speisen und Getränken - immer noch adäquat. Wir kommen wieder.

I ordered Yufka with soft cheese and a portion of fries. The fries were good and tasty. Yufka there was a ratio of too much meat and not enough salad, the meat was very salty. The sauce had no taste. Unfortunately I only had a salty taste in my mouth that I couldn't eat it. The staff was very nice and friendly. Yufka was also very well topped, but the taste was too salty.

In itself a very nice restaurant and hotel.. what you read here as far as the service goes, it depends on who is on duty.. it fluctuates hugely from great to gruesomely bad and unfriendly.. Breakfast would be good but not ideal for a business traveler. Service at the table is charming, but the implementation is not good. Sometimes you wait up to 15-20 minutes until you have everything at the table. I personally find the buffet better and more flexible for the guest (and I stay in hotels a lot).. but in the end that is also a subjective perception.

Highly recommended! Nice hosts and good food and they have small portions on the menu. All in all TOP
