Delicious food, nice people, hospitality.

We would like to thank Mr. Pfefferle for the impressive wine tasting. Our entire group of 15 people really enjoyed it. We take our hats off to such an achievement in the vineyards. Organic winery is really lived here, you can feel it. The subsequent meal at Straußi was wonderful and the service was very warm and courteous. We felt completely comfortable. Quality food and wine are rare in ostrich restaurants. Everything definitely fits here! We'd love to come back!

Great restaurant and wine sales from local producers. Delicious wines!! We had lunch at our leisure. Delicious food for a reasonable price. Sitting together at long picnic tables is part of it. Grandma's home made brown bread is really so delicious!!! Recommended!!

I was at Straußi with friends from northern Germany. We were a bit disappointed because of the ambience and also the food. We sat in the marquee and were given the emergency table. In my opinion, this is no longer reasonable. The chairs are also very uncomfortable. Maybe. You should then put a marquee set there. The white, sterile tent didn't inspire any joy either. I have known the Straußi for over 25 years. There used to be something really quaint and cozy about it with the covered seating. And the quality of the food wasn't great either. Overall, there is definitely still a lot of room for improvement. It's a shame, but you probably won't find me there anymore.

I've noticed time and time again for years that love really goes through the stomach. Everything is prepared with care, the service is warm and courteous, I enjoy being a guest here.

We had a wonderful evening in the Straußi. The wines tasted fabulous. The atmosphere here is incredibly warm! The food was also a pleasure, there was something for everyone (meat, vegetarian, vegan). The specially grown truffle is particularly recommended.

Great ostriches with beautiful views and excellent service! The food (we had goat cheese with salad and meringue with ice cream and cream) was bombastic! The wines are a matter of taste, but we found two that we really enjoyed! We're only in the Freiburg area once a year, but we'll definitely come back here! 😍

Tolle Strauße mit schöner Aussicht und ausgezeichnetem Service! Die Speisen (wir hatten Ziegenkäse mit Salat und Meringue mit Eis und Sahne) waren bombastisch! Die Weine sind Geschmackssache, aber wir hatten zwei gefunden, die uns sehr gut geschmeckt haben! Sind nur einmal im Jahr im Freiburger Raum, aber hier kommen wir definitiv wieder her! 😍

Absolute recommendation!!! The Straußi not only impresses with excellent food and outstanding wine, but also with extremely friendly and warm staff and a fantastic ambience with a view of the Black Forest. Anyone who is in the area should definitely stop by!

Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. Reminds me of a place other than a Straussi. Above all, there was no parking space for buses. Although they want people too. Will forward this mango to companies

Beef salad with bragel, very tasty

Wonderful atmosphere, pleasant service great food and wine. Wish we found this earlier and will definitely come around again. Very lovely people ( and dog 🐶). We enjoyed their schnitzel as the daily special of fleichkäse was quickly sold out. Recommend to book a table in advance.

We went to Schneider-Pfefferle-Strauße with the whole family on Easter Monday and were very satisfied! We sat at a nice table next to the piano and had very friendly service. Each dish was also available as a small portion for the children. They also got to play outside on the playground until the food came! The food came quickly and was very tasty, we also ordered many vegetarian and even a vegan dish and we were all thrilled, and it was quick too! It was a great day and we will always come back! Thank you for the warm service and big praise to the family business.

Fantastic atmosphere with a view of the beautiful Black Forest! Nice service and a pleasant atmosphere every time you stay with the best regional food.

We were there yesterday with the family. Including with children. We sat in there where it was very warm and crowded and cramped at first. We had a one year old toddler with us. After we asked for a high chair, it came quickly. But this high chair was a complete disaster. How can a restaurant/ostrich put up such a high chair without feeling guilty at all? This high chair looked like it was over 30 years old. A green ribbon was then attached to protect the child from slipping out. The belly bar was also loose, so you were afraid it would break. I told the waitress that this wasn't possible and that it had zero security. She said she would pass it on. What would have happened if another child came along? Was there the same one again? Thank God we had our stroller with us. It's actually quite embarrassing. At least there was a nice play area outside with a swing and the like. The service was nice, but after we were allowed to drink, it took a long time before we could order the food. The food came quickly. Now comes the “but”. There wasn't even a children's menu for children. There wasn't a meal suitable for children. And the schnitzels were a joke, I think. Small and had zero taste for schnitzel. Since we can't get out of the corner there. We won't come anymore...

Eating took forever - there was only meat and little choice and there was beef dung everywhere

A few weeks ago we were again from Hesse visiting friends in Tunsel. What is of course always included is a visit to the Straussenwirtschaft Schneider in Heitersheim. Food great as always. Cozy restaurant. We recommend.

Food was delicious, small error was corrected immediately.

The quality of the food has decreased significantly.

Good, but nothing special... One of the few ostriches open on Monday and Tuesday. (Closed days Wednesday and Thursday). The food is good and hearty but nothing typical "Straussi". Or what are Swabian Maultaschen doing on a Straussi menu???

Great, fresh food, top service, delicious wines. At Schneiders Straussi you can enjoy the Markgräflerland!

We were there for the first time today and I have to say, we liked it and it tasted delicious. Recommended. You can sit outside as well as inside. Even with an electric wheelchair, it's really great. It would be better to make a reservation if you are going with several people.

We have been here repeatedly to eat. The ambience and the view of the Black Forest are beautiful.

We often visit friends in Tunsel and that includes a visit to Schneider s Straussi. Sitting comfortably and, as always, having a delicious meal with one or more glasses of wine. A nice evening.

Es ist immer wieder schön in diese Straussi zu kommen. Nettes Personal, gutes Essen und einen wunderschönen Blick. Die Ferienwohnung ist top und wir kommen immer wieder gerne hier her.

Wie immer top - sehr gute Weine und schmackhaftes Essen.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Nachmittag. Die Lage ist wirklich sehr schön und wir konnten bei bestem Ausblick die Sonne genießen. Die Weine gaben uns sehr gut geschmeckt - wir haben sogar noch drei Flaschen in unserem Rucksack unterbringen können, damit wir ihn auch zu Hause genießen konnten. Als "Snacks" hatten wir den Flammkuchen und das Trio - Vorsicht, die Portionen sind sehr groß. Aber ich will nicht klagen, denn sie waren auch sehr lecker. Der Service war trotz sehr vieler Gäste unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es wurden sogar noch extra Tische aus dem Schuppen geholt, so dass wirklich jeder einen Platz finden konnte. Als Bonus hatten wir am Ende noch nette Tischnachbarn. Wir können jedem Schneiders Straußi nur ans Herz legen.

Sehr schöne Location. Im Hof hat man einen Blick vom Blauen bis zum Schauinsland. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht sich alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und reichlich. Den Wein besonders den Weißburgunder kann ich nur empfehlen.

Tolle Location mit leckerem Wein! Aber nehmt bitte die Convenient Schnitzel von der Karte, darauf kann man gut und gerne verzichten.

Unfassbar schönes Ambiente, aber leider hat uns das Essen nicht geschmeckt (hatten das (Fertig) Schnitzel). Der Wein war sehr lecker.

Bin begeistert. Wirklich sehr leckeres Essen, was mir hier besonders gefällt ist, dass auf regionale und biologische Speisen geachtet wird. Die Atmosphäre ist toll, die Bedienungen sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Auch die ökologischen Weine sind vorzüglich, schön dass sich hier auch neues getraut wird! Es macht wirklich Spass sich durchzuprobieren. Ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt und werde definitiv wiederkommen.

Diese Strauße liegt sehr idyllisch, ist sehr ansprechend im modernen Stil gestaltet. Der Service war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Essen geschmacklich und optisch hervorragend. Die Getränkeauswahl ist auch klasse. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!
