Very hospitable ostriches with a pleasant atmosphere. We felt very comfortable!

If you're not there during peak hours, like Sunday afternoons, it's incredibly tranquil. The service staff is a bit more relaxed then. Sometimes you have to wait a bit longer for your food, that's part of the experience at a Straussi. The selection is always manageable and has varied only slightly over the years. Prices are rising moderately, which is remarkable these days. Compared to 30 years ago, when I experienced it, however, it can be quite crowded at times.

Friends and I enjoy coming to the Sulzbach Straussi in Heitersheim. The wines from the LAMPP winery, including its Müller-Thurgau and Gutedel, are especially worth the trip on hot days, along with the delicious Baden food. The friendly, family-friendly atmosphere and attentive service, and when the weather is nice, there's plenty of space outside for all ages. Sometimes you need a bit of luck to snag a free seat or a place to stand, due to its popularity among tourists. While coffee, espresso, latte macchiato, and the like are offered today, the menu unfortunately lost its original charm with the historical emergence of "Besenwirtschaften" (beverage taverns).

We come at least once a year for a family dinner with 7-10 people. Service is fast and (usually) attentive, but even when the house is full, it's okay. The dishes are plentiful, tasty, and reasonably priced. We also had dessert and coffee, all excellent! Anyone complaining here should please go to a more upscale restaurant in the future and not complain about a wine tavern! We usually make reservations in advance, which is also recommended for groups.

A real highlight – enjoyment and coziness at the Sulzbach-Straussi We visited the Sulzbach-Straussi and were completely delighted! We particularly recommend the asparagus salad with tender schnitzel – perfectly paired and accompanied by wonderfully aromatic, homemade sourdough bread. An absolute delight! The house wine, directly from the winemaker, is also a real highlight: full of character, honest, and a perfect match for the food. The entire ambiance is romantic and rustic, decorated with great attention to detail – you immediately feel at home. The service was attentive, friendly, and very competent. All in all, a wonderful experience that we would happily recommend.

The food tasted really good, but nothing particularly outstanding or memorable. The presentation of the dishes seemed rather unloving – with a little more effort, it could have been better. The price was a bit too high for what was offered. What I find completely unacceptable, however, is that it's 2025, and card payments aren't accepted. Only cash? That's simply outdated. Fees for a card terminal really don't cost the earth these days. I hope something changes.

There are better Staussen restaurants in the Markgräflerland region. The quality of the food could be better. The potato salad was a real disappointment; it was a bit greasy!

Our first visit to an ostrich. Fully convinced. Service GREAT and friendly. Food absolutely delicious. And the atmosphere is really cozy. We can recommend it to everyone with a clear conscience.

Been here again after about 2-3 years . I was very disappointed and will probably hardly go here again. The taste of the food was average, the green salad was quite oily. But what bothered me the most was the fact that no thought was given to decoration. Roast and spaetzle were just like the green salad, without a garnish, not even a small piece of parsley, but simply "naked". Even in simple gastronomy, the eye eats. Unfortunately the red jelly was nothing either. The texture... lumpy and quite sour. It's a shame, I remembered the kitchen better.

I was there with my friends Andy, Wolfgang and the dog Olivia. Born in Leipzig, I appreciate cosiness as a Saxon and as a Rhinelander, I like openness and cheerfulness. I encountered all of this here and I enjoyed the simple, hearty food. I think it's great that they don't just serve wine but also their own type of beer. Hopefully I'll be able to come back someday.

Sehr freundlich. Essen kam sehr schnell und war gut. So wie ich es eigentlich in einer Strausse erwarte. Leider hat auch hier, wie überall die Teuerung zugeschlagen.

Eine nette, kleine Strauße mit einer kleinen Karte. Das Schäufelchen war sehr lecker und saftig. Die Brägele leider kein bisschen knackig und rösch und das Schnitzel gerade so OK. Eis Nachtisch nicht der Renner. 2 Kugeln einfaches Eis etwas Likör bzw. 2, 3 in winzig Schnitzel geschnittene Erdbeeren und Sahne. Beim Service minus 1 Stern da nur Barzahlung möglich ist.

Wir waren gestern mit einem Bus voller hungriger Menschen dort. Das Essen war super, die Portionen mega. Der Service war schnell und sehr freundlich. Wir waren rundum sehr zufrieden. Danke für die tolle Zeit. Geheimtipp: Probiert mal das Fritzle Bier, Sehr lecker! Gute Besserung an die Chefin, der ganze Bus drückt die Daumen!

Schön hier zu sitzen. Kinderfreundlich. Spielplatz und Kinderfahrzeuge vorhanden. Auch Hunde sind willkommen. Gute regionale Küche, auch wenn es voll ist, das Personal verliert den Überblick nicht. Auch für Vegetarier geeignet. Gutes Weinangebot. Alles hausgemacht. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Tolles Angebot an Essen. Die einheimische Küche ist wirklich sehr gut. Dazu tolle Weine gehören dazu. Der Service ist flink und sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente lädt einen geradezu ein.

Top Ambiente gutes Essen und einen guten Wein machen eine gute Straußi auss. WEITERHIN SO.

Eine schöne gemütliche Straussi. Das Essen war gut und reichlich. Wir tranken einen sehr guten Sekt dazu. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente hat uns besonders gefallen, geschmackvoll und dennoch nicht überladen. Sehr gut. Wenn wir in der Nähe wohnen würden, kämen wir bestimmt öfter.

Sehr gepflegte und blitzsaubere Straussi. Toller Außenbereich und großer Innenbereich. Ehrliche Küche, auch geschmacklich ( nix Zauberpülverchen), tolle Produkte und sehr freundlicher Service. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhäktnis. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich, aber eigentlich logisch bei den saisonalen Öffnungszeiten, braucht niemand einen 5-Jahres-Knebelvertrag vom Kartenterminalanbieter.

Waren mit 12 personen dort, alle hatten schnell ihr Essen was richtig lecker war , und das zu erschwinglichen Preisen! Empfehlung und Gerne wieder!

Leckerer Rindfleischsalat, Käsespätzle mit kleinem Salat, ein Viertele Gutedel und ein Scholle, alles seeehr lecker und sehr schnell serviert. Service aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir saßen im Hof des schönen gepflegten und mit vielen Pflanzkübeln geschmückten Weingutes. Und zum guten Schluss gab es noch ein Kirschwasserbömble :-) Was das ist?? Ausprobieren! Mit Schuss 🍒🥃 aus der eigenen Brennerei. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder 😋

Die Auswahl war etwas dürftig, aber das kennt man ja von straussenwirtschaften. Die Portionen waren groß für das geld. Und der Geschmack war auch top. Gerne wieder.

Schöne Adresse zum speisen und guten Wein genießen. Engagierter Service. Sogar die Chefin und der Chef kommen an den Tisch und beantworten geduldig alle Fragen zu seinen Erzeugnissen.
