Ox Hotel in Heitersheim

The food is super tasty, very large portions and top quality. The service is attentive, quick and very friendly. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated. I travel a lot on business trips and can happily confirm that I feel very comfortable. I would be happy to come back. Clear 5 stars!!!!!

The rooms are a bit old. The cleaning condition is only superficial. The room was quite noisy. Breakfast is not offered as a buffet, you receive a card with possible menus. Unfortunately, half of it ends up in the trash.

It's very nice here - a great atmosphere (modern yet cozy). The food is high quality and delicious. The staff is relaxed and professional at the same time - Irini from the service should be particularly highlighted - she is on the ball, fast and friendly, always has a joke on her lips and can handle conflict situations well. We'd love to come back!

Insider tip. Great ambience. Fine drinks and exclusive but affordable food. The tarte flambée was a dream. All the wait staff were friendly and very professional - even when dealing with difficult guests. A big thank you to Ayleen.

Great hotel. Stayed there for four days with our cycling club. With almost 30 people Good varied breakfast and good choice of dinner. Very hospitable team of employees. They also had a nice separate room for our club where we could sit. Definitely recommended for groups.

Not a hotel I would recommend to anyone expecting a minimum standard of a hotel. Bathroom was a weird mix-and-match and the shower leaked, the furniture was old and icky, and the service lacked minimal flexibility.

Very friendly staff. The lunch menu is quite good in terms of taste. Unfortunately, due to the price increases (understandable these days), the offer is no longer attractive to us, which is why our visits are no longer coming. In the summer it was nice to sit outside, but I would always recommend sitting inside. More comfortable seats and more pleasant temperatures.

Cozy atmosphere on both the terrace outside and inside the restaurant. I would make a reservation in high season. The terrace is popular in the area. Service is friendly and correct. Price/quality is in balance. Sloss Heitersheim is beautiful, within walking distance and with a fascinating history. The various half-timbered houses and the small center have an attractive appearance. Furthermore, a beautiful, relaxing environment where you can enjoy walking and cycling.

Perfect service in the beer garden. Although all the tables were occupied, the waitress Josy kept an overview, was quick, friendly, reliable and also gave a helpful wine recommendation.

We were just restaurant guests. The food is tasty and sufficiently portioned. In addition to the standard menu, a changing lunch menu is also offered at cheaper prices. Inside you can sit in a rustic setting and outside under tall trees when the weather is nice. Will definitely come back

30€ for a schnitzel with fries?! I have no problem paying well for good food, but that's as far from reality as possible. The fries were anything but crispy and the schnitzel was nothing special either. Just a shame!

No structure, no leadership, arguing in front of the guests is an absolute no-go. A young man behind the bar who is characterized by completely uncollegial behavior. The staff is highly dissatisfied with the current situation. We had the opportunity to have a short conversation with two MA... Tears on your face say more than a thousand words. We have often been to Ox in Heitersheim, which used to be a great restaurant. Every time it gets worse, it tastes like nothing and is overpriced for the quality. We had the asparagus with scratches, the asparagus was totally tasteless and the pancakes inside were still doughy. Also the veal slices with spaetzle. The spaetzle tasted like it came from a ready-made package and was fried quickly, the sliced ​​meat was dry and tough. The sauce tasted like any ready-made sauce from the supermarket. The tarte flambée, on the other hand, was delicious, hence the star… The service is very good, the conditions are friendly and fast!! All in all, it's a shame, the restaurant lives more from its long reputation than from good food.

The OX restaurant in Heitersheim has an ideal location and a modern and comfortable interior as well as a great outdoor area and garden terrace which is very centrally located with plenty of parking nearby. Starting with the friendly service, at which point I have to highlight Valentina because there aren't many such friendly, personable and attentive service staff anymore, to the flexible and very well-trained chef who prepares the delicious dishes, to the counter service, everything is very good recommend. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, which shouldn't be missing these days. From the starters to the main courses to the desserts, everything tasted great and the portions were more than sufficient. A restaurant to come back again and again to have a great time.

We have been to OX several times. Including overnight stay. Always a very good experience so far: Beautiful rooms, everything was very well maintained, the food was really delicious and the service was always very nice and courteous. The location... Well, we were in Freiburg and in the Vitra Museum. You don't know whether you would otherwise want to go on holiday in Heitersheim. But I can recommend the OX!

A hotel in a location that seemed designed for a visit from my family. A very friendly and courteous service (despite working at Christmas), rooms with beautiful furnishings that leave nothing to be desired and the location directly in Heitersheim give a really well-rounded picture. Food (breakfast) with good quality and quantity.

OX is a very good restaurant with delicious dishes and wines.

They lied to you and simply charged you for another, more expensive meal. They charge €15 more for something we didn't have. When we pointed this out to them, they portrayed us as liars and lied about everything to sell more expensive food. They became very aggressive and both shouted in an incredibly disrespectful manner. Very bad!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOTTOMLESS AUDACITY!!!!!!!!!!! I really hope the owner of the place reads this review and takes action. —- Here you are exposed as a customer, even though you are in the right. The service was unfriendly from the start, then increasingly completely anti-social, became loud and deliberately portrayed us customers as liars because she didn't WANT to see her own mistake. In the end we had to pay more than 20€ more due to completely false statements from the waitress (we asked if there was an extra charge - she told us clearly NO, it doesn't cost anything). There was absolutely no sign of insight, the service became rude, insulting and even louder. She even ripped the receipt out of your hand when we pointed out something was wrong) In my opinion, the waitress should be able to correctly answer simple questions regarding the menu. It is very shocking to experience how, as a customer, you are exposed in such an absolute injustice by the waitress and in front of all the other guests. I have never experienced such anti-social customer interaction and unfortunately it cannot be topped in terms of impudence! I will never visit this restaurant again and will certainly recommend it to everyone else. I really hope that this doesn't have to happen to other guests. I could mention a lot more, but it's simply beyond words how you, as a guest, are attacked there (immediately after just the slightest comment!). - Not to forget the food itself: it was average, nothing special and nothing disgusting. However, for what it is, it is very expensive.

Das Essen war ganz ok, die Pommes waren top. Das Servicepersonal hat hauptsächlich durch Abwesenheit geglänzt. Aufmerksamkeit scheint auf jeden Fall ein Fremdwort zu sein. Leere Gläser lässt man als Dekoration gerne beim Gast stehen, anstatt sie beim bringen der nächsten Getränke mit zunehmen. War sehr schade. Hätte ein gemütlicher, langer Abend werden können wenn das Personal aufmerksamer gewesen wäre.

Wunderschönes sauberes Zimmer! Sogar Ventilator mit auf dem Zimmer für wärmere Tage. Beim Restaurant-Service könnte man noch etwas zulegen.

Leider wurde mir Wiener Kalbsschnitzel statt ein Schnitzel Wiener Art gebracht, wollte es dann nicht mehr reklamieren sonst wäre es noch später geworden. Mein cocktail Caipirinha war nicht gut. Mit weißen Zucker? Die Limetten wurden nicht vorher zerstoßen so das ich mit meinen, nachträglich angeforderden Strohhalm, alle Mühe hatte den cocktail trinkbar zu rühren. Danach war der Strohhalm aufgelöst.

Wir waren mehrmals dort essen und konnten so verschiedenes ausprobieren und es war immer lecker. Gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis! Sowohl drinne als auch draußen lässt es sich gut sitzen.

wir sind über den Schwarzwald angereist und haben Heitersheim via Freiburg ohne großen Mühen erreichen können - das Ankommen als Gruppe wurde mit großer Professionalität gemanaget - in wenigen Minuten hatten alle Ihre Zimmer und konnten ohne Wartezeit den Aufenthalt beginnen. Der Kastaniengarten, die Aussengastro und die Räumlichkeiten gaben uns die Möglichkeit nach Stimmung, Wetterlage und gemäß unseren Bedürfnissen immer den passenden Platz für uns einzunehmen - der Service war sehr freundliche und effektiv - gerade als Gruppe wirkt es sich sehr positiv aus, wenn keine Verzögerungen oder Verwechslungen das Urlaubsklima beeinträchtigen - wir sind sehr zufrieden und empfehlen den Ox/Ochsen in Heitersheim sehr gerne weiter

Auswahl Speisekarte gut. Das Essen war gewohnt gut. Der Service war heute schlecht, ca 15min. nach Ankunft wurden wir völlig missachtet. Erst auf Nachfrage konnten wir bestellen. So nicht.
