I recently visited this Flammkuchen restaurant and have to say it was a disappointing experience across the board. The tarte flambée, which the restaurant was supposed to be known for, was really disappointing and nothing special. However, the service was even worse. The waitresses were extremely unfriendly and seemed as if every guest was a burden to them. Polite questions were responded to in an arrogant and condescending manner. Instead of taking care of the guests, the service staff preferred to talk to each other. I've never experienced anything like this before. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant and will certainly never visit it again. It's a shame actually.

Jimmy Elsass is an institution when it comes to tarte flambée. I haven't eaten any better in Hamburg so far. The restaurant is reminiscent of a student-run shop. The service is very casual, but always friendly. The usual suspects such as Italians, Greeks and Co. have previously failed at this location. The fact that a shop specializing in tarte flambée has made it here speaks for the quality. The ambience inside seems like some of its predecessors. Simple beer tent sets dominate the outside. The wines are ok and go well with the tarte flambée. We had a mixed starter plate with various stories, some of which had a Bavarian touch. It was ok, but I found almost 30.00 a bit too much. But that was the only drawback from a culinary point of view. This is an absolute recommendation for tarte flambée fans.

We had an incredibly delicious meal here with 6 boys! The goose was absolutely amazing! The dumplings are a dream and I will dream about the sauce tonight. The ambience of the restaurant has always been great anyway, but Franziska's friendly manner is in a class of its own. Top recommendation!
