Wackes in Köln

I was there again yesterday and was unfortunately disappointed. Long waiting times are reasonable if the food is impressive, but that wasn't the case yesterday either. A lively and happy atmosphere can certainly increase the enjoyment of the meal, but noisy, testosterone-saturated guests who are not put in their place for a long time, Cologne carnival music in an Alsatian restaurant and unambitious service make another visit unlikely for me. It's a shame, because I once felt very comfortable there.

We have eaten there several times and have always been thrilled. Nice Alsatian atmosphere, delicious food and wine, very accommodating owners👌😍 We'd love to come back.

Once again this year there was a fantastic New Year's Eve menu in the incredibly authentic French surroundings at Wackes Four courses, each with several choices For my main course I had the beef cheeks a poem, food to enjoy But the French onion soup and the tartare as courses one and two were also fantastic, so the dessert with homemade yoghurt ice cream could only be the crowning finale. The young service team worked so hard that the old beams in the historic building were bent When some badly behaved guests wanted to have their food served in a hurry because they couldn't recognize the nature of this temple of pleasure, they just shook their heads in pity A great culinary experience in the heart of Cologne

A piece of France in the middle of Cologne! Wonderfully cozy Alsatian restaurant with a great ambience and creaky wooden stairs. The food is great, whether rustic Alsatian sauerkraut dishes or tarte flambée (e.g. with Münster cheese, delicious!), frog legs or coq au vin, the chef has mastered his craft. Always the right wines. The service was also super friendly! We always enjoy coming back.

I reserved a table online for New Year's Eve at 5:30 p.m. 5 weeks ago and received confirmation shortly afterwards. Yesterday on December 28th I received a call telling me that there was only a set menu on New Year's Eve and that reservations could only be made for the entire evening from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.! Where are you supposed to get a table two days before New Year's Eve!? I'm at a loss for words.

Great service, incredibly good food and a great atmosphere in the middle of Cologne city center.

It was my second time there because the food was so delicious. The service was friendly, but there is still a lot of potential. We sat for 30 minutes without drinks, everything dragged on quite a bit. This is out of all proportion to the prices there. However: The food is really tasty and even though the lady served the entire restaurant alone, she was very friendly and warm.

A super nice, fine restaurant right in the heart of Cologne! It was super tasty and absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and relaxed. We ate delicious tarte flambée and a delicious lamb's lettuce! Delicious. Plus a great white wine! What more could you want? We were warmly welcomed by the entire team and served very well. Update 11/21/24: today we were at Wackes again and treated ourselves to a nice menu. There was also this very interesting rosé wine that really tasted excellent. I understand very well why this was named the best rosé wine in Germany. The lamb's lettuce, the duck leg and the crème brûlée for dessert were really excellent as always. Update 07/13/24: Today the Wackes celebrated the French national holiday. A great surprise menu (seen in the pictures) was served, accompanied by an illustrious FRA/DEU musical entertainment. The numerous other guests also contributed to the successful evening with their good mood. Update 05/09/24: The owners have changed and the food is still great. Lamb's lettuce, corn-fed chicken supreme, asparagus with Bayonne ham... simply fantastic. Excellent service and the ambience in this old half-timbered house tops it all off. We are very happy that the Wack tradition continues in this top quality. The two of us were at Wackes a week ago and I completely forgot to review this great French restaurant. We finally found a really good French restaurant in Cologne. Monsieur Wack, who serves all guests, has excellent knowledge and conveys a special flair simply through his appearance. The food is great, whether tarte flambée or coq u vin. The wine accompaniment is appropriate, the spirits are balanced and the desert is delicate. It was a great evening with French flair. We will be guests again.

Very cozy. A real Alsace feeling

We were at Wackes with a large group (20 people). The restaurant's very good reputation is known throughout the city. Unfortunately I was disappointed. To make it easier to coordinate, we had already agreed on the number of guests and what everyone wanted to eat the day before. Arrival was at 7 p.m. It wasn't until 8 p.m. that the first bread came to the table. At 8:15 p.m. the first starters came to the table and the service staff was already slightly confused. In the meantime we had to ask several times for water and other drinks. The first main courses were served from 9 p.m. Unfortunately without a plan. When asked, a service person explained that there was a lot to do and that they had made a mistake in the tables (hmm... that's why we had selected the dishes beforehand). Our food was destined for the tables below. So if you hadn't touched your plate yet, it was taken away straight away. My dish arrived at 9:15pm and was well prepared and tasty. The last dish was served at 9:30 p.m. Of course, this did not achieve the character of a shared meal. It's all a shame!

We had an incredibly delicious meal here with 6 boys! The goose was absolutely amazing! The dumplings are a dream and I will dream about the sauce tonight. The ambience of the restaurant has always been great anyway, but Franziska's friendly manner is in a class of its own. Top recommendation!

The ambience, service and food are very good, even if my cremant as an aperitif wasn't cold (was replaced immediately) and some of my boeuf bourguignon was tough. The duck terrine was excellent and our wines were harmonious. Only the wait for our main courses was far too long for me at around 1.5 hours.

After many years we were at Wackes again. The food was fantastic, the duck with red cabbage and strudel was the best thing I've eaten in a long time. The restaurant was extremely full, but the service was still perfect. Small suggestion - we initially completely overlooked the upper unisex toilet because it was poorly decorated. It really is a quiet place and beautiful) We'll be back. Thank you for a nice evening.

A chic, charming restaurant in the heart of Cologne. The food and service are terrific and the friendly owners do everything they can to offer guests a great ambience and an unforgettable time. Big compliments to Franzi and Markus, thank you for the delicious food and the lovely evening<3

Wir hatten für 20 Uhr einen Tisch reserviert, jedoch waren alle Tische besetzt. Wir warteten an der Theke, wo uns ein Getränk angeboten wurde, während wir warten sollten. Nach 60 Minuten war dann endlich ein Tisch im Obergeschoss frei, wo es jedoch aufgrund der Lautstärke nicht auszuhalten war, man musste sich anschreien, um sich verständlich zu machen. Überraschenderweise war dann doch im Erdgeschoss noch ein Platz frei und das Essen kam zügig. Alle 3 Gänge waren sehr gut und auch preislich angemessen, jedoch gab es kein Wort der Entschuldigung dafür, dass unser für 20 Uhr reservierter Platz erst um 21 Uhr frei wurde und auch das uns an der Theke angebotene Getränk stand auf der Karte. Wir werden dort nicht mehr hingehen.

A wonderful restaurant that we discovered by chance. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. Great atmosphere, super friendly owners. Our children were even allowed to look at the kitchen. Many many thanks. ❤️

The old and the new I was enchanted the first time I went to the Wackes restaurant with my husband well over 12 years ago. It was like a journey into another world: the half-timbered house was crooked and crooked, the checkered doilies and the outdated dishes and glasses had long since crossed the line into kitsch and were something special again. The husband and I really like French cuisine, but we are also real philistines. We don't care which corner of France the dishes come from. Alsace or not, if something else appears on the menu, people will just as happily order and eat it – the main thing is that it’s delicious. We like to eat out a lot and what we really value is an honest, honest guest-host relationship. Old Mr. Wack was more of a gastronomic fanatic, the sometimes sly hosts who had no problem pursuing their commercial talent. It's also not worth mentioning that an academic title can certainly support Franco-German friendship, and this might push you up a little in the guest rankings. But be that as it may, the many different wines that were advertised on the menu didn't appear either. People just drank whatever was there. It was also a shame about the “Baeckeoffe”, which had been on the menu for years. That simply didn't exist. This was a real running gag between the man and me: “Do you think it exists today...?” Unfortunately, unfortunately, we never got to know it... Invoices that could be used to track prices and quantities were also overstated. Sometimes it's just like on the stock market: prices can vary. And in the end you eat and drink whatever the owner of the house offers and decides for you. A year ago there was a surprise with new faces. The “Wackes” got a new and fresh wind with two great new hosts in the starting blocks who only have one goal: to create wonderful evenings! The kitchen finally got a much-needed general overhaul, the 80s dust from the room and menu was lovingly and carefully removed, and fortunately the classics were retained with small new interpretations. The food is terrific: delicious & “modernized”. You are greeted at “Wackes” as if Franziska and Markus were just waiting for you or, in our case, the husband and me. Please don't misunderstand, not because there are no other guests - no, the place is on fire - but because they are there with heart and love, and being a host is lived by both: from the first greeting through the evening to the farewell . We found a second living room, a second dining room and a place to meet old friends and become new friends. Do they both have French roots? We don't care. It didn't matter to Mr. Wack, who considered the two of them to be the best restaurant takeovers in the world. Would he otherwise have handed over his life's work to them and continued to make his name available?

Small, beautiful restaurant with very nice and quick service. The tarte flambée with lamb's lettuce as a starter was great. Two of us had the menu of the day: lamb's lettuce, duck breast, creme brulee. All very tasty. The toilet is accessed via a small, steep staircase on the first floor. Nothing works without a reservation.

Tarte flambée for 15 euros? How much can you bake yourself for that much money? Price performance not justified

We came by here by chance. The atmosphere appealed to us from the street - super cozy, like in France. The service was very nice and competent. And the food was a dream. We haven't had such a good meal out for a long time. We are happy to recommend this restaurant.

A little bit of France in Cologne We were there for the first time.. And one of my favorite restaurants.. The price is a bit high but the service is absolutely worth it. No words can describe the appreciation of my family for Mr Wack. My father has worked for him in 90’s at his restaurant as a foreigner just helping to support his family, Every-time we get together as a family till today we hear stories of Mr Wack. It’s not just how exceptional quality of his work / restaurant/ Service/ ingredients is, Which would all be equivalent to having one in a 5 star restaurant but instead offered locally. Most importantly its Mr Wack as a human being, His eye of examination towards personality of a person. We always got fascinated by hearing how admired he is by our father not only as a Chef/ moreover as a exceptional human being. I can confidently say no other person has earned the level of respect my father has for him. He is a truly one in billions & would recommend everyone visit & support his firm. Thank you very much! 😊

The tarte flambée with pears is incredibly delicious. The dough is very tender. I definitely recommend this cafe to visit.

French restaurant, especially from Alsace, kowtows to ignorant people and no longer offers frog legs. Poor and therefore dead to us. Too bad.

Bereits im Oktober2023 wechselte wohl der Betreiber, was sich auch positiv auf die Öffnungszeiten auswirkte (ein Besuch ist nun auch um die Mittagszeit möglich) -daher hier meine erneute Beurteilung. Was soll ich sagen, es lohnt sich für jeden, der französische Chansons, guten Wein und schmackhafte Speisen (der Flammkuchen z.B. ist so herrlich anders und sehr empfehlenswert) zu einem fairen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis zu schätzen weiß. Und natürlich sollte Mann/Frau auch etwas Zeit mitbringen, um all dies genießen zu können 😎

I was at Wackes on Saturday and even though it was very busy, the waitress did an excellent job. She was the only one handling service that evening, and yet she still managed to serve every guest with a smile and take all orders quickly and correctly. This professionalism and friendliness particularly impressed me and contributed significantly to a successful evening.

The Wackes was always one of our favorite addresses to spend a nice, cozy evening with candlelight and authentic Alsatian cuisine. That's why we were really sad when it became apparent that Romain Wack would be hanging up his apron after forty years. But Romain has already found worthy successors. Franziska and Markus took on the brave task and did everything right. The menu still includes the classics such as coq au vin, tarte flambée or choucrout. There are now also many modern interpretations of Eastern French cuisine. The high-quality ingredients are particularly noteworthy. With the Cremant there is Zimmermann's root bread with salted barrel butter and everything else is of high quality. With every visit there is something new and exciting to try. Yesterday, for example, a lamb casoulette that was so cleverly seasoned and cooked to perfection that it was extremely difficult to stop me from licking the plate. Now a word about the ambience. The charm of the Alsatian wine bar remains, but Franziska really has a knack for fresh flowers and candles. This combined with the classic checkered tablecloths and the subdued French music creates the perfect atmosphere. But just as important as the cuisine and ambience is the way in which you are welcomed and pampered throughout the evening. Franziska is a born hostess and it's hard to resist her charm! I can only warmly recommend the “new” Wackes - Bon Apetit!

Fantastic, attentive service and very, very tasty food from Alsace. We had various tarte flambées, a very tasty salad and various great starters. The Alsatian wine selection was delicious, as was the Alsatian beer!

We had a wonderful evening at Wackes. The ambience is so inviting that you just can't pass by. This was our second time here and the food was simply a 10/10. The "Wackes" is the right place to relax, enjoy and be pampered! Conversations can be held in a comfortable atmosphere without the loud background noise that is often the case. French music (chansons) plays discreetly in the background. The food is delicious. The cuisine is primarily Alsatian. The wine tastes good too! The landlady is attentive, accommodating and open-minded. We will be back!

It is probably the best Alsatian restaurant in Cologne. It's so small, it's so good. Atmosphere like small Alsace. The cuisine is sensationally good Alsatian. The new owners Franziska and Markus are doing everything right in the great name of one of the best restaurateurs in Cologne, Romain Wack. Now retired, and forever a friend, and patron of this restaurant. No matter what you order here, whether snails, frog legs, coq au vin, choucroute, or the Perlhun Supreme, everything is delicious and finely prepared. Here you can get the best Alsatian tarte flambée in all of Cologne!!! Needless to say, Alsatian wines go very well with these dishes. Franziska guides you through the program in a charming, friendly and very competent manner. Bravo Markus and Franziska, the guests are absolutely thrilled, as I could see. Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting the “Wackes” restaurant. I was in a good mood and the pleasant, secret atmosphere didn't disappoint. The food was very tasty, I shared a vegetarian tarte flambée with my companion, which was very tasty. The portion size was right and we were both full. There were many other offerings that looked very interesting and that I would have liked to try. The restaurant looks very nice and, despite the small basement, was very pleasant and not too loud. The fresh flowers, which looked great next to the beautiful candles, added to the romantic atmosphere. The service was also very polite. We were served by a young blonde lady who was very nice and didn't keep us waiting! I was very impressed by the overall impression of the restaurant. The sanitary area also had no defects. However, I must note that the toilets on the second floor are difficult to access for older people or people with walking difficulties. I would like to thank you for the wonderful experiences and hope to see you again soon!

Wir waren mit mehreren Freunden im Wackes und haben dort einen schönen Abend verbracht. Das Ambiente ist super gemütlich und der Service war sehr freundlich. Aufgrund des vollen Lokals hat allerdings alles relativ lange gedauert. Geschmacklich und qualitativ war das Essen top. Trotz der positiven Punkte, war das Gesamtpaket für mich nur befriedigend. Die Hauptgerichte sind hochpreisig, aber aufgrund der wirklich guten Qualität und angemessen Portionsgrößen absolut in Ordnung. Die Vorspeisen hingegen fand ich völlig überteuert. Die Qualität war auch hier gut, aber für die Größe der Gerichte, war der Preis viel zu hoch. Ein Feldsalat mit Speck für EUR 14,- ist schon amtlich. Was ich gar nicht verstehen konnte, war das Angebot an alkoholfreien Getränken: Wasser, Apfelsaft und Orangensaft. In einem solchen Restaurant und zu einem solch guten Essen, sollte man schon eine größere Auswahl erwarten dürfen. Was mich letztlich richtig geärgert hat, ist dass das selbst abgefüllte Wasser (ich gehe davon aus, dass es Leitungswasser war) mit EUR 6,90 pro Flasche berechnet wurde. Das ist schon wirklich dreist und für mich völlig inakzeptabel. Ob ich nochmal ins Wackes gehen werde, weiß ich noch nicht. Eine zweite Chance kann aber ja nicht schaden…

Highly recommended! Excellent cuisine, friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. Rustic bourgeois but also fine French food. We really enjoyed the evening and will be back soon.

There were four of us eating there and we were almost the first guests in the restaurant. Service was nice at the beginning, but we had to wait too long for our starter, around 90 minutes. The main course again took a long time and one dish would be forgotten. Other tables (arrived later) were served sooner. Despite our requests, the tarte flambée didn't come. Water was offered but not served at first. In the end we got a small carafe of water for the price of a large bottle. Discussion with the waiter, we had already finished and the fourth guest still didn't have any food, the bill didn't come either, so I had to go to the counter and then pay. We got a voucher, but unfortunately our evening was ruined and we were very disappointed. The food deserved better time management from the kitchen and better/adequate service.

Wir, 4 Personen, hatten für 19 Uhr den Tisch reserviert und haben bis 22.30 Uhr auf unser Essen gewartet obwohl wir die Bestellung um ca. 19.30 Uhr aufgegeben haben. Wir hatten 4 identsiche Gerichte geordert. Insgesam´t war der Service sehr unaufmerksam. das benutzte Geschirr stand mindestens 30 Minuetn auf dem Tisch. Unsere Reklamation bzgl. der unzumutbaren Wartezeit wurde mit der Bemerkung, die anderen Gäste warten auch, quittiert. Das Essen war im übrigen höchst durchschnittlich.

Silvester 22 verbrachten wir im Wackes einen wunderschönen Abend und wollten auch dieses Jahr wieder hier ausklingen lassen. Die Tische waren sehr eng gestellt, im EG waren 24 Gäste und im 1. OG befand sich eine vergleichbare Anzahl. Für beide Geschosse war eine (!) erfahrene Bedienung mit Azubi zuständig, sie brachten die Getränke und servierten das Essen. Der Azubi hatte sich die klangvollen großen Namen der kleinen Gerichte auf einen Zettel geschrieben und las sie den Gästen vor. Wir saßen mit einem arroganten Paar an einem Tisch für 4 Personen; die beiden kamen später und waren nicht in der Lage, uns bei ihrem Eintreffen zu begrüßen. Möchte man mit solchen Menschen gemeinsam den letzten Abend des Jahres verbringen?! Das Vier-Gang-Menü gab es in unterschiedlicher Ausführung für Damen und Herren. Zur Begrüßung gegen 19 Uhr haben wir Champagner bestellt und es gab 2 Scheibchen p.P. Zimmermann-Baguette mit Zwiebelmus. Nach ca. einer Stunde wurde den Damen ein Avocado-Gurken-Taler mit eingelegten Flusskrebsen gereicht. Der Wein schmeckte gut. Der Abend begann vielversprechend! Nach einer weiteren Stunde wurde ein Schnapsgläschen voll mit Rucola-Sahne-Süppchen mit einem Scheibchen Baguette, belegt mit atomisierten Lachswürfeln, gereicht. Mittlerweile machte sich der Hunger bemerkbar! Gegen 22 Uhr wurde für die Damen Saibling-Roulade mit Spitzkohl und für die Herren Boeuf Bourguignon serviert, beide Gerichte waren klein und schmackhaft, die Bundmöhrchen wurden allerdings am Nebentisch serviert. Den Abschluss bildeten Creme Brulee mit eingelegten Birnen und Zimt sowie eingelegte Pflaumen mit Crumble und einer Kugel Eis unbekannter Geschmacksrichtung. Alles in allem war das Essen schmackhaft, eingelegt könnte fertig gekauft bedeuten, es waren zu viele Menschen auf engem Raum, vom Personal habe ich die Kellnerin mit Azubi und einen Koch in der Küche gesehen. Für 250 € kann man mehr erwarten.

Leider vertreibt das Restaurant noch Stopfleber. Dieses Produkt von Höchster Tierqual verdirbt mir leider die Laune dort Essen zu gehen...

Відрядження в Кельн, пошук чогось смачненького. Результат блюдо винесли в посуді для готування гуся або качки. Сама посуда\каструля гаряча, а от їжа в ній холодна, більш того розігріте в мікрохвильовці мясо, яке пересипали в кастрюлю, потім присипали сирою картоплею. Ціна даного "шедевру" кулінарії вразила і відбила будь яке бажання навіть подумати прийти сюди ще раз.

Sehr urig, tolles Essen und geniale Getränke. Nach mehreren Jahren waren wir wieder dort. Es hat sich Gott sei Dank nichts geändert. U.a. die Froschschenkel und die Schnecken eine Wucht. Wir kommen wieder👍😀

Sehr gemütliches Ambiente mit freundlichem und aufmerksamem Service. Die Menü-Auswahl ist überschaubar. Das Essen war gut und die Portionen grosszügig. Wir hatten Flammkuchen mit Roquefort & Birne, Kalbsrücken, und Choucroute. Beim nä.Besuch hoffen wir auf Bouillabaisse, Kartoffelbratwurst und Boeuf Bourgignon. Ein uriger Ort im Herzen von Köln. Kerzen auf dem Tisch. Sehr gemütlich. Das Restaurant erstreckt sich auf zwei Etagen. Das Essen ist toll. Und der Service wahnsinnig aufmerksam und herzlich. Wir kommen wieder.

Amazing dinner here on a business trip to Koln. The tarte flambee was the tasiest I have had outside of Alsace, and the service was phemonemal, suggesting apperitivo, wine and digestif. Dined alone and felt so welcome by the warm waitress (the owners daughter). Also in a lovely vibey part of the city. Not to be missed!

Immer wieder gerne... Herr Wack ist ein sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Gastgeber, sein Personal ist ebenso aufmerksam und stets zuvorkommend. Hier kann man perfekt genießen und wird wunderbar satt, die Speisen können einfach nicht genug sein, da man nicht genug davon bekommen kann. Die Weinauswahl ist gut und überzeugt auch Menschen die dem Rebensaft für gewöhnlich nicht so zugeneigt sind. Auch das Elsässer Bier ist eine ausgezeichnete Wahl. Die Weinstube im alten Fachwerk ist einfach ein sensationelles, schönes, gemütliches Lokal, welches man unbedingt ausprobieren sollte.

Wir waren das erste mal spontan im Wackes. Auf den Ersten Blick haben wir uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Eine tolle Atmosphäre, Stoffservietten, zuvorkommender Service, Empfehlungen des Hauses für Getränke und Speisen ... auf die wir uns verließen. Empfohlen wurden elsässische Tapas ... diese kamen auch und wir waren lider enttäuscht, denn die Salate, wie Kartoffelsalat und dergleichen waren fertig gekauft, wie auch die Soße über den frischen Salaten. Hier könnte man sich mehr Mühe machen, dem restlichen Erscheinungsbild angemessen. Was dann leider dazu führte, dass wir den Wackes wohl nicht mehr besuchen werden ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. 30€ pro Person für Oliven, fertige Salate, etc ... das ist leider wirklich frech. in Summe 105€ für 4 Getränke und zweimal Tapas, die nicht der eigenen Küche entsprungen sind. Das schmerzt leider den Geldbeutel und das Genießerherz.

Essen war nicht gut und es steht 1 Flasche Leitungs Wasser auf dem Tisch und dafür muss man 6,50bezahlen viel zu laut da drine man kann sich nicht unterhalten und kein Fenster auf stickig Luft drine und alles sehr eng Tisch an Tisch war nicht gut

Wie möchten Sie das ich es Ihnen erkläre? Der hidden Champion von Köln? Das kulinarische Geheimnis von Köln? Der beste Flammkuchen außerhalb des Elsass? Ich würde Ihnen empfehlen, überzeugen Sie sich selbst! Ich hatte keine Lust auf die Schickimicki Läden in der direkten Nachbarschaft und bin aufgrund der äußerlichen Architektur an meine Zeit in Paris erinnert worden und bin spontan dort hinein! Ich wurde von einem Sonnenschein von Bedienung begrüßt, zum Platz begleitet und bekam gestärkte, gebügelte, echte Damast Servierte mit der Karte in die Hand gedrückt! Da ich eigentlich nur eine Kleinigkeit essen wollte, entschied ich mich für den Flammkuchen, ganz klassisch, mit Speck, Zwiebeln und Lauch! Ich übertreibe nicht, ich habe selten ein besseren Flammkuchen gegessen! Daraufhin hab ich neugierig die Tische der anderen Gäste betrachtet und konnte nur sehen, dass niemand seinen Teller nicht aufgegessen hat! Sehr nettes, spezielles Restaurant. Man fühlt sich ein wenig wie im Urlaub. Allerdings auch nicht günstig.

Romain ist ein Gastgeber par Excelance. Alles klein und sehr fein. Er ist typisch und autentisch. Der Flammkuchen ist köstlich. Kottelet ebenfalls. Weinempfehlung sehr gut... rundum: wir hatten zu 4rt einen sehr charmanten Abend im Wackes - gerne wieder!

Hübsche Einrichtung, alles liebevoll eingerichtet. Aber sonst? Total eng, sehr unbequeme Stühle. Extreme Wartezeiten auf das Essen. Und das Essen? Meins war für mich nicht genießbar. Die Gemüsepfanne war ein fettiger Mix aus Tortellini, Zwiebeln und Pilzen. Es fehlte an Geschmack.

Goed eten, harde werker, leuke sfeer

Ein toller Abend in dem "kleinen Frankreich" mitten in Köln:-)

Die Bedienung war alles andere als motiviert. Der Herr wirkte genervt, überfordert. Die Preise sind dort eher hoch. Das jemand eine Gesamtrechnung nur widerwillig auf die Anzahl der Personen umlegt, halte ich für mehr als fragwürdig. Und dann uns genervt fragt, wie er das auseinander rechnen soll?! Sorry, falscher Job würde ich sagen. An sich eine schöne Location, das Essen war ok. Die Bedienung hat es zunichte gemacht. Ein paar freundliche Worte beim Abschied gehören zum guten Ton, kamen aber nicht über die Lippen. Schon gar nicht die Frage, ob man uns einen Absacker anbieten kann. 270 Euro für 5 Personen-das war kein Mc Donalds. Wäre beim nächsten Mal aber eher meine Wahl.

Vom Wackes hatten wir schon viel gehört- eine Institution in Köln. Vorgestern nun dort gewesen. Zunächst mal kann ich sagen, dass ich in Köln kein anderes Restaurant kenne, dass eine schönere Atmosphäre hat. Kuscheliges Fachwerk, französischer Stil, alles sehr verspielt und liebevoll. Dann das Essen: wir hatten Flammkuchen mit Salat, danach Ente. Alles auf den Punkt, selbst Rotkohl und Spätzle waren selbst gemacht, perfekt abgeschmeckt und genau richtig in der Weihnachtszeit. Der Gastgeber Romain kümmert sich sehr liebevoll um alle Gäste, man fühlt sich wie sofort empfangen wie zuhause. Haben gleich noch zwei Flaschen Weißwein zum Mitnehmen gekauft, ich empfehle den Pinot Blanc. In Zeiten der Inflation geht man ja nicht mehr so oft ins Restaurant, aber wenn, dann muss es geil sein. Deswegen: auf zu diesem Laden. Ein richtig schöner Abend, wir kommen gerne wieder! A bientot!
