I had involtini and my wife had a tarte flambée. The latter was very tasty, but unfortunately my meat was extremely dry. The salad was excellent. The service was super friendly and very attentive. The drinks were also good, by the way. Whether it was the Rose or the Oberdorfer beer.

We had a decent dinner the night before, but during a simple stop for a beer, everything went wrong: a service error regarding the beer sizes (ordered 0.5 L, received 0.3 L), then the first attempt at overcharging (€39 for two beers!), and above all, the incomprehensible attitude of the waitress, who then returned with two new beers that we hadn't asked for. We paid to avoid a dispute, but we left with a deep sense of injustice. A place to avoid if you expect a minimum of respect. Enttäuschung trotz gutem Start. Good location overall, good shop—and very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the food wasn't great, so we had to let the kitchen know. Maybe it was just a bad day. The sauerkraut was too dry for me personally, and you don't throw Nuremberg bratwurst in the deep fryer. 😂 You just don't do that.

Central location, nice beer garden, and friendly staff. Prices have risen considerably. Currywurst for €15 and Leberkäse for €20 is pretty steep. A 0.5-liter beer costs €6... that's pretty crazy.

A meatball roll for €5 was industrially produced from the meat to the roll... I know what ready-made meatballs look like and what freshly made meatballs look like... I wish I had taken a photo of them... And the way the owner reacts to criticism is not up-to-date and may reflect his aging clientele, but insulting the customers directly with every bad review only confirms my overall impression.

This was our first time here. The outside was packed, so we took a table inside. It was nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the waitress was either very busy that evening or more focused on the outside. We had to wait a long time before we could order. Even later, we had to constantly make ourselves known to order more. The grilled knuckle of pork we ordered was delicious, but with a grilled knuckle of pork, I expect crispy rind, not soft like with ham. It's a shame, otherwise it was a nice place.

A lovely Cologne experience at the Gertrudenhof I ate at the Gertrudenhof on Neumarkt on June 16, 2025 – and I really enjoyed it overall. The ambiance is quaint and traditional, typically Cologne. It was very busy, but everything went quickly – I barely had to wait for my food. I ordered the onion schnitzel with fried potatoes, a fried egg, and a side salad – super delicious, everything fresh and well-seasoned! I also had two Kölsch beers – one before the meal, one after – as it should be. 😄 What bothered me a little, though, was that I was full after just a few bites and had to leave most of the food. Unfortunately, the waitress (Wilma) didn't ask me if I wanted to take the rest with me – I thought that was a shame, especially since it was a real waste of the good food. All in all, though, a very nice visit. I'd definitely come back – next time with a Tupperware container just in case! 😉

A cozy restaurant right next to Neumarkt. In summer, you'll find a lovely spot in the shade under the large tree. The very friendly service completes the atmosphere. The Alsatian tarte flambée was delicious and served perfectly as a small snack. We'd be happy to come back.

Sadly disappointed with this place. We wanted to drink a nice white beer with 9 people, the fact that we came in with 9 was not very appreciated... Then there was glass in one of our glasses and instead of offering a beer or taking a beer off the bill, the solution is as follows: pour the beer into another glass but with a sieve...

Had 2 glasses of wine and got charged 18 euros! They do not have the price of wine in the menu clearly writen and no waiter warned me. 18 euros for 2, 2cl glass which were not even that well filled. What a cheating practice. Not even in specialised wine bar the cost is that high. Be careful they offer things that are not in the menu to charge you more.

Cologne restaurant with fresh service and generous portions to fill you up!

Great way to get introduced to German cuisine during our visit to Cologne. The lady that was serving us explained everything and was very friendly and helpful. The concept of beer being served continuously till you put a cover over your glass was unique. Food portions were more than sufficient for us & needless to say they were delicious. Great location in city centre area which make it all the more worth visiting.

Service was great and friendly as always, and the food was okay. Unfortunately, they've introduced shift meals here, just like in the old town. We don't like that at all. If things stay this way, it probably won't be our restaurant of choice anymore.

We had planned to have dinner at the Gertrudenhof for three people, but were sadly very disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, we were treated extremely rudely by the lady at the reception. Without much interest or friendliness, we were immediately told that there were no more seats available and asked what we were doing there. The tone was anything but friendly.

The service staff were super friendly (thanks to the "Köbissin 😀) and quick, the food was very tasty, the portions of the food were also suitable for those who were very hungry and the drinks were well chilled. All in all very appetizing. Thumbs up and always worth a visit!

Rustikales Restaurant mit viel Charme, man sitzt draußen unter einer großen Linde oder drinnen und läßt sich von dem sehr netten Person bedienen.

Nachdem wir draußen gegessen hatten, wollte ich die Toilette aufsuchen,dort wurde ich ich vom Wirt(?)und einer Bedienung mit lauten Hallo,Hallo Rufen gestoppt ! Meine Erklärung, daß ich ein Gast des Außenbereichs sei, wurde nicht akzeptiert, Ich wurde frech belehrt, daß ich zu grüßen habe! Meine Erklärung, daß ich nach links geblickt, die dortige Bedienung angelächelt habe ,deswegen den hinter eine Thekensäule stehenden Wirt nicht wahrgenommen habe, wurde ebenfalls nicht akzeptiert! Als ich später den Herrn noch einmal darauf ansprach, daß dieser Ton nicht angemessen gewesen wäre, antwortete er erneut aggressiv, Es gäbe LEUTE, DIE REINKOMMEN UND ANDERE LEUTE BEKLAUEN.. Ich bin 71 Jahre viel gereist, aber so eine Frechheit gegenüber einem Gast habe ich noch nie erlebt! Ich bin Kölnererin und schäme mich für diesen Menschen!
