Went for my wife’s birthday, part of a week in Berlin. Excellent service, ambience and delicious food. Also really enjoyed the Lebanese wine. Definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff are attentive yet leave you to enjoy your meal. Loved it.

Wie auch die Umami Bar liebe ich die Esskultur und feiere, dass Simon und Aleks nun (zusammen mit Alesso) endlich ein "richtiges" Restaurant erhalten haben. Ganz besonders hat mich die Teilnahme an einem von Simon geführtem Kochkurs gefreut. Einblick in die Küche zu erhalten und sich etwas von seinen Kochkünsten abzuschauen, war einfach nur toll. Zu schauen, ob gerade ein Kochkurs stattfindet lohnt sich auf alle Fälle, wenn man in Passau zu Besuch ist. Die Zutaten werden so regional wie möglich bezogen und dann mit sehr viel Leidenschaft und Zeit zu unvergleichbaren Geschmackserlebnissen kreiert. Z.B. wird die Fischsauce aus Karkassen von regionalen Fischen und Krebsen in einem Fermentationsprozess von einem Jahr hergestellt. Der Tofu stammt aus Oberösterreich, die Sprossen vom Triebwerk aus Passau, das Gemüse vom Permakulturhof Weiss... Simon, Aleks und Alesso unterstützen mit der Esskultur also auch viele tolle Direkterzeuger und holen mit Hilfe der Kombination der italienischen, japanischen und bayerischen Esskultur das Beste aus dem einzelnen Zutaten heraus. Die Hingabe und Leidenschaft zum Essen der Köche schmeckt man einfach. Und es lohnt sich immer, sich mit ihnen bei einem Plausch über unserer Esskultur auszutauschen. Denn da haben sie sehr interessante Ansichten, die uns zum Nachdenken bringen. Also unbedingt reinschauen und sich einmal durch die Speisekarte schlingen.

We ordered for a group of 10 people and EVERYONE found it so incredibly tasty. The contact with the employees was very friendly and courteous. Price/performance is also unbeatable.

I've never had a better falafel sandwich than there. There is a great selection there and you can see how your own food is prepared. The price-performance ratio is great.

Today I was back at the Orient Kitchen with my children for almost over a year, because I remember it being super tasty and great, except for my visit today. I'm not actually the type to write bad reviews, but today's hasn't given me peace. We ordered waffles, first they came with powdered sugar, which I saw straight away and asked myself what happened to the waffles? Smaller, thinner, slightly burnt in a few places, I thought it was ok. But the real hit was the waffle with NUTELLA just like it says on the menu. NUTELLA!! What we received was anything but a waffle with Nutella, it was a small waffle where half was only covered and not with Nutella but with chocolate sauce. When I asked they said yes it is Nutella diluted with milk??? Why do you do something like that?? Because it would have to be signposted like that. Of course the sauce was sucked out of the waffle. I don't understand it?? I wouldn't have expected that. And the service was anything but insightful or accommodating.

The food is extremely good. You have the feeling of being at home with friends. The hosts make it so special. Simple furnishings, loving and personal. A little excursion from everyday life. Particularly suitable for vegetarians and sensitive people.

There was so much stuff under the grill to keep warm and I think they couldn't see through it themselves and it all took far too long, even though there was hardly anyone in the shop. That's definitely how it seemed to me 🤷‍♂️
