Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast was excellent, everything was freshly prepared every day and there were sufficient quantities available. When something came to an end, it was immediately replenished. The rooms were classically and very cleanly furnished. The bathrooms are modernized and also pleasantly comfortable. I would go here again at any time. Probably next year.
Where is the pride in being Italian? How can you offer your pizzas with Emmental cheese? The cuisine from Italy 🇮🇹 with its Mediterranean magic cannot be found here. What happened I wonder? The dough was good, crispy almost as it should be, but the tomato sauce had no taste, the salami and ham were simply thrown on top, they could have been presented with love with pepperoni or other 1000 possibilities. The second pizza, too many black olives, less is often more, this pizza drowned in juice. I'm criticizing the chef 👩🍳 who has lost his love for cooking. Football is played with passion and cooking should have the same feeling. Tip: make your pizzas the way they should be. Go eat with other colleagues again and let yourself be inspired by the great cuisine from Italy 🇮🇹. Be proud of your cuisine from your country and present it on the plate.” "Dio ci manda il cibo, il diavolo i cuochi."
We went there for the first time last Sunday with friends. The food was very good and arrived quickly, and the service was friendly and attentive. We felt comfortable and would go back.
One small downside: you can only pay with cash; card payments aren't accepted. Maybe there was a notice somewhere, but unfortunately we didn't see it. It would have been nice to know that before ordering...
Great Italian restaurant for decades and the only restaurant on the Herrlesberg. The owner of the restaurant now cooks himself, and a nice team takes over the service - always attentive and quick to serve.
We especially recommend the pizzas and the mixed antipasti as a starter. The Primitivo is also good.
Also a cozy atmosphere.
Highly recommended. Make a reservation on the weekend, otherwise it won't work.
We had an unforgettable dining experience at Kranz Schopfheim. The service was top-notch, warm and attentive without being overbearing. You can truly feel the love and care that goes into every detail.
We sat outside on their charming terrace, which added to the cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish felt like a homemade specialty. We started with the Bärlauch Suppe, their house favorite — creamy, fragrant, and utterly delicious.
For mains, we tried the Cordon Bleu with Bärlauch and the Cannelloni (made from crepes, filled with spinach and minced meat, in a rich tomato sauce). Each bite was a joy — it's hard to say which plate was better, as everything was simply perfect.
We paired the meal with a glass of excellent wine, which rounded out the evening beautifully.
If you’re ever near Schopfheim, don’t miss this gem — it’s a place where food is made with heart.
