A very nice, small restaurant in the heart of Essen. The waitress (or boss?) is very friendly. There's something special about the shop - it's very cozy. You feel good! About the food: My Malaysian curry was good. It tasted good! But I would have expected something more. More courage to season! And the amount of rice was really quite small... But still recommended!

Visited the Jawa Restaurant today and had lunch. Had a want tan soup in advance, very tasty in a very tasty broth, with pak choi and spring onions and 6 wontons, very tasty 😋 For the main course I had the beef 🐄 with eggplant🍆 on a hot sizzling plate (iron plate) with various vegetables. Absolutely delicious and next time I will probably work my way through this menu, the dishes are so delicious. The daily special of Indonesian cabbage rolls also sounded very tempting. The service is A1, very friendly hosts, and the restaurant is nicely decorated, price-performance ratio ok. The restaurant was packed with Indonesians, which is a good sign. A clear recommendation if you like good food, this is the right place!

The vegetarian bola bola was very tasty.. as was the Riesling and the first rosé on the menu.. the Blanc de Noir had too dominant an acidity for me.. the Chardonnay fumé is my favorite.. :)

Large portions that can be shared. You can trust the service's recommendations: both the main courses and the dessert tasted very good. Plus, we didn't have to wait long for food and we sat comfortably in the courtyard!

Hi, Been away for two weeks and missed Indonesian food. Goggling Indonesia restaurant and Bali Bistro come up. Looking good in the review. When there for dinner two days in a row; first and second October, only to find they are close while the goggle map said it open. SAD😞
